A wideband tunable optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) based on a dispersion compensated phase modulated microwave photonics filter (MPF) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The MPF, consisting of a tunable laser source (TLS), a phase modulator, a fiber Bragg grating Fabry–Perot filter and a photodetector, is used as the oscillating mode selection device. Dual-loop configuration is employed to make sure the OEO operates at a single oscillating mode. Theoretically analysis is carried out to demonstrate the tuning range limitation due to the phase-modulation to intensity-modulation conversion caused by long single mode fiber (SMF). To overcome this disadvantage and expand the signal tuning range, a dispersion compensation fiber is introduced followed by the SMF to compensate the fiber dispersion. By simply adjusting the wavelength of the TLS, an ultra-wideband tunable microwave signal with the frequency tuning range from 2 to 44 GHz is obtained. The phase noise is also investigated and measured to be less than ? 110 dBc/Hz at an offset of 10 kHz within the whole frequency range.  相似文献

An optical microwave filter architecture which can be continuously tuned is proposed and demonstrated. The architecture is based on a nematic liquid crystal spatial light modulator in parallel configuration and has the potential to control a large number of taps. A tunable and reconfigurable microwave photonic filter is demonstrated by employing a tunable Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) and a wavelength-controllable Raman fiber laser. The free-spectral-range and spectral response of the microwave photonic filter are tuned and reconfigured by controlling the optical variable delay line in one arm of the MZI and the powers of the pump LDs. Experimental results are given to show the enhanced flexibility of the present microwave photonic filter.  相似文献

A photonic approach for measuring microwave frequency over a wide bandwidth is proposed.An optic group delay line composed of several magneto-optical switches and a 1.6-km single-mode fiber is used as a tunable dispersive medium in the measurement setup.A minimum frequency accuracy of 80 MHz in the range of 1-20 GHz is achieved experimentally.  相似文献

A spectrum sliced microwave photonic signal processor structure, which is all-fiber based and features simplicity, together with the ability to realize tunability, reconfigurability, bipolar taps, and multiple-tap rf filtering, is presented. It is based on thermally controlled optical slicing filters induced into two linearly chirped fiber Bragg gratings. Experimental results demonstrate the realization of versatile microwave photonic filters with frequency tunable, reconfiguration, and bipolar-tap generation capabilities.  相似文献

Investigation on the group delay performance of microwave photonic filters is presented. Analysis and simulation results show symmetrical distribution on the delayed optical signals in the impulse response is required to obtain a constant group delay performance. Experimental results for both symmetrical and asymmetrical tap distribution microwave photonic notch filters are presented showing the group delay response with ?25 ps and around 1 ns ripples, respectively.  相似文献

A new tunable cascaded infinite impulse response (IIR) microwave photonic filter is presented, based on a novel configuration in which a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) is inserted between two active recirculating delay line (RDL) loops. Due to wavelength conversion with cross-gain modulation (XGM) in SOA, interferences between light beams traveling different paths are canceled, ensuring a stable transmission. By employing this configuration, a cascaded IIR microwave photonic filter is firstly achieved. The free spectral range (FSR) and the Q factor are both increased significantly by adopting “vernier effect” technique in the IIR filter. The structure is also tunable by adjusting the length of one RDL loop.  相似文献

A novel tunable and reconfigurable microwave photonic filter based on two cascaded modulators and a dispersive medium is proposed, theoretically discussed and experimentally demonstrated. A single-wavelength LD and a modulator (either a Mach-Zehnder modulator or a phase modulator which can avoid the dc bias drift problem) are used to obtain a multi-wavelength optical source. By adjusting the modulation frequency and the bias voltage on the modulators, the wavelength spacing and the relative amplitude of the optical tones change, thus making the filter tunable and reconfigurable. The experimental results show that the proposed filters have good tunability and reconfigurability and the mainlobe-to-sidelobe ratio of around 25 dB is achieved.  相似文献

A nulling system for phased array antennas with broad bandwidth and reduced complexity is presented. The system is based on combining the output of an optical beamforming network with an optical transversal filter steered in the angle where a null is desired in a configuration that reduces the number of optoelectronic conversion compared to previous proposals. Preliminary experimental results to show the feasibility of the concept are provided between 2 and 6 GHz, showing null depths of 22, 10 and 19 dB at 2, 5 and 6 GHz, respectively.  相似文献

An optically tunable frequency-decuple optoelectronic oscillator based on optical frequency comb (OFC) and stimulated Brillouin scattering has been proposed and theoretically analyzed. In the proposed structure, the OFC is generated using a cascaded Mach–Zehnder modulator and a dual-parallel Mach–Zehnder modulator (DPMZM), and multi-pump lights could be obtained instead of one pump. A quintuple Brillouin frequency shift oscillation signal generated by using Brillouin gain-loss compensation principle and carrier phase-shifted double sideband modulation is realized by using the DPMZM to double the oscillation frequency. As a consequence, a decuple frequency shift microwave signal is achieved. Profit from the wavelength-dependent nature of Brillouin frequency shift, a frequency-decuple signal at 10 \(f_{b}\) which could be tunable from 87.9750 to 94.4750 GHz by simply tuning the wavelength of the tunable laser source is obtained in theory.  相似文献

随着无线通信的速率提升和微蜂窝趋势,光载微波技术已经成为重要的发展趋势,而光生多载波系统是光载微波的最重要的技术之一.本文提出了一种基于双环混频光电振荡器(OEO)的可调谐光载微波频率梳产生方案,可同时实现多频段微波信号产生,从而高效低成本地为无线节点提供光生微波载波.方案采用混频双环OEO系统,通过工作在增益开关状态的直调激光器,利用其非线性动态特性产生多频率光载微波频率梳信号,并采用双路微波滤波器分别滤出两个相邻频率的微波信号,并利用二者的差频反馈注入直调激光器构成光电谐振.利用偏振双环结构抑制长谐振腔引起的边模问题,提高了输出信号的噪声特性.经过实验分析,得到了低相噪的多路微波信号,并最终实现了间隔797.4 MHz的稳定的微波频率梳信号,一阶载波相位噪声低于-101.7 dBc/Hz@10 kHz,-115.2 dBc/Hz@50 kHz.因此该方案产生的光载微波频率梳信号具有低噪声的优点,适用于光载微波通信系统.  相似文献

An integrated photonic microwave reconfigurable filter was proposed and realized incorporating a tunable polymeric ring resonator. Its passband could be shaped electrically by shifting the resonant peaks of the resonator via the thermo-optic effect. As for the achieved performance, the center frequency was 20 GHz, the extinction ratio ∼15 dB, the bandwidth 2 GHz, and the corresponding quality factor 10. The microwave output within the passband was varied efficiently by ∼27 dB with the rate of ∼6.7 dB/mW, while the wavelength tuning rate of the resonator was −0.02 nm/mW.  相似文献

Photonic generation of radio-frequency(RF) arbitrary microwave waveform with ultra-wide frequency tunable range based on a dispersion compensated optoelectronic oscillator(OEO) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Dispersion compensation scheme and specially designed fiber Bragg grating(FBG)-based Fabry–Perot(F-P) filters are employed in the OEO loop to realize a frequency tunable range of 3.5–45.4 GHz. An optimization process provided by the combination of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA)and FBG is employed to improve the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of final RF signals. The generation of linearfrequency and phase-coded microwave waveforms, with a tunable carrier frequency ranging from 4 to 45 GHz and tuned chirping bandwidths or code rates, is experimentally demonstrated.  相似文献

A high Q-factor photonic microwave filter showing tuning and reshaping capabilities and based on stimulated Brillouin scattering is demonstrated. The filter bandpass can be continuously tuned, changing the microwave oscillator used to generate the pump power, and the filter shape can be modified by modulating the microwave tone. A single bandpass over the microwave spectrum can be obtained by using single-sideband suppressed carrier modulation. Experimental results demonstrate the wide tuning range of the filter, its reshaping capability, and Q factor of 670.  相似文献

In this paper, both theoretical investigation and experimental verification of microwave photonic filter based on a fiber-Bragg-grating (FBG) delay line and a broadband light source have been carried out, in which the effects of spectrum and dispersion characteristics of the FBGs on the frequency response of the microwave photonic filter have been taken into consideration. Theoretical and experimental results agree well, and both results show that FBG's characteristics affect not only the free spectrum range (FSR) of microwave photonic filter's response, but also results in the frequency dependent power degrading.  相似文献

We demonstrate an electrically tunable Sagnac filter based on a photonic bandgap fiber that is realized by infusing liquid crystal into a solid-core air-hole photonic crystal fiber. The filter enables an electrical tuning with a range of about 26 nm for one single interference minimum in the transmission bandgap from 1330 to 1650 nm wavelength. An optical delay line based on a new kind of structure comprising coupled resonators and side-coupled resonators has been proposed and demonstrated. The structure has unique advantages in realizing tunable optical delay lines. The tuning range has covered almost the full range of the optical delay line, from minimum delay at which only one ring of the light pulse structure requires transmission, to maximum delay at which all rings are required. In addition, the input signal delivered from the input to output port travels the structure twice, thereby providing buffer delay that is twice longer than general coupled resonators.  相似文献
