In this work we present a simple technique for laser frequency stabilization, based on Digital signal processing. The technique is used to stabilize a waveguide CO2 laser of wide tunability by using three kinds of reference signals: the CO2 laser ouptut power, an infrared absorption optoacoustic signal and the output power of a Far-Infrared optically pumped molecular laser.  相似文献

Generation dynamics of a two-wave CO2 laser with excitation by a continuous electric discharge and with modulation of losses in one of the channels is investigated theoretically and experimentally. It is shown that by changing the frequency and depth of modulation of a variable component of losses and also the relationship between the constant components of losses one can control, over rather wide limits, the shape, duration, and peak power of radiation pulses in the active and passive channels.  相似文献

The methanol isotopic species CH3OD has also proved to be an efficient and powerful medium to generate radiation in the far infrared (FIR) region. After the critical review of 1994, six papers have been published dealing with new FIR laser lines from this molecule. As a consequence of the use of wide tunability waveguide CO2 lasers as well as a new pulsed CO2 laser operating at hot and sequential bands, as of optical pumping sources, the total number of the FIR laser lines increased from 122 in 1994 to 227 today. In this communication we present an updated and complete catalogue of FIR laser lines generated from CH3OD. Information on wavelength, offset, relative polarization, intensity, and optimum operation pressure is generally available.  相似文献

The optoacoustic spectrum of CH3Br around 10 m band lines of a tunable cw waveguide CO2 laser is investigated. Several new infrared absorptions are observed and most of the correspond ing molecular transitions are assigned. Far infra red laser action is reported by pumping with the same CO2 laser: pump offsets are given using the Transferred Lambs dip (TLD) technique. A new FIR laser emission is obtained and assigned. An optoacoustic Laser Stark spectroscopy technique is used to investigate off resonance infrared tran sitions.  相似文献

By photochemical dissociation of the rare carbon isotope component of CHClF2 by means of a CO2 laser with an average power of 150 W, Q-switched at 10 kHz, we have demonstrated the separation of more than 1 mol of 13C, enriched to 50% (2 mol of total carbon). It is contained in about 1 mol (101 g) of the product C2F4. The total throughput of the starting material was 29 kg. The experiment was run day and night for 2 weeks, almost only controlled by a computer. We obtained production rates of 5 mmol/h, corresponding to about 0.5 kg 13C per year.  相似文献

A model is reported to foresee ,for different mirror choices, the spectral properties of a high pressure, frequency tunable, CO2 laser, operating with a non-Littrow grating mounting. The calculations show a larger frequency selectivity for not collimated plane cavities. The model is experimentally verified in a suitable high pressure laser. In particular narrowed linewidths less than 300MHz ( FWHM) are obtained.  相似文献

By using a line narrowed high power tunable laser we have analysed the FIR emission spectrum inside some , compact sQ, sR k-multiplets. Jumps between adjacent k-systems are observed , although tunable emissions of dominant lines are produced. The more favourable gain overlap of the K Raman lines in the fundamental vibrational level induces an off-resonance dominance of this process respect to the standard Raman scattering in the excited vibrational level. The AC Stark splitting has been also observed when the CO2 laser is posed in resonance with the absorption lines.  相似文献

We have investigated CHD2OH methanol as source of far-infrared (FIR) laser radiation using the optical pumping technique. Our new waveguide pulsed CO2 laser, with peak powers as high as some kW, has allowed us to observe 12 new lines. Each of them is characterized in wavelength, relative polarization, intensity, optimum operating pressure and pump offset from the center of the exciting CO2 line.  相似文献

We report for the first time wavelength, relative polarization, and frequency measurements for 47 new cw FIR laser lines in the wavelength region from 120 to 1714 m, all obtained by optically pumping CD2F2 with a CO2 laser. Relative output powers were also measured. Twenty-four new submillimeter laser lines in fully deuterated methyl alcohol (CD3OD) in the wavelength range from 52 to 328 m have been obtained in a Fabry-Perot FIR resonator by optically pumping the methanol with a cw CO2 laser. We have made accurate wavelength measurements and have determined the relative polarization of most of the known CD3OD laser lines. The nonlinear dynamics of a loss-modulated, two-wave CO2 laser lasing on vibrational–rotational lines of different vibrational bands has been investigated theoretically and experimentally. The nonlinear response of a CO2 laser to biharmonic loss modulation was theoretically investigated for tuning of the radiation frequency within the limits of the amplification band. It is shown that the value and form of the amplitude-detuning characteristic (and, consequently, the temporal and energy parameters of the laser radiation) can be controlled within sufficiently wide limits by changing the modulation frequency and the phase shift of oscillations. In this work we report several emissions observed in Ammonia in the 25-400 m range by pumping with a line-narrowed CO2 laser. The possibility of remote detection of SO2 in the 9-μm region of the spectrum by means of a TEA CO2 laser was theoretically and experimentally investigated with regard to the real state of the atmosphere and the contribution of background concentrations of H2O, CO2 and NH3 to absorption. For sounding along short paths (2L=2 km), the method of detection of small concentrations of SO2 (at the MPC level) with the use of the lines of the CO2-molecule regular transitions (00o1–02o0 band) has been devised and experimentally tested. It is shown that in sounding along longer paths (2L=6 km), a noticeable increase in sensitivity can be achieved by the generation lines of the CO2-molecule sequential 00o2–02o1 band. B. I. ABSTRACT

The diffusion of a CO2/CH4 mixture in carbon nanotube (CNT) bundles was studied using molecular simulations. The effect of diameter and temperature on the diffusion of the mixture was investigated. Our results show that the single-file diffusion occurs when CO2 and CH4 are confined in CNTs of diameter less than 1.0 nm. In CNTs of diameter larger than 1.0 nm, both molecules diffuse in the Fickian style. The transition from single-file to Fickian diffusion was demonstrated for both CO2 and CH4 molecules. A dual diffusion mechanism was observed in the studied (20, 0) CNT bundle, single-file diffusion of CO2 in the interstitial sites of (20, 0) CNT bundle and Fickian diffusion of CO2 and CH4 in the pores. For CO2, the interaction energies (CO2–CO2 and CO2–CNT) are larger than that of CH4 in all cases. But only a very small difference in the diffusion coefficient was observed between CO2 and CH4. Temperature has a negligible effect on the difference between diffusion coefficients of CO2 and CH4 in the studied CNT bundles. The adsorption, diffusion and permeation selectivities are discussed and compared, and the adsorption is demonstrated to be the rate limiting step for the separation of CO2/CH4 in CNT bundle membranes.  相似文献

Twenty-seven new FIR, far-infrared, laser lines from the isotopomers of methanol: 12CD3OH, 12CH3OD, and 12CH2DOH, were obtained by optically pumping the molecules with an efficient cw CO2 laser. The CO2 laser provided pumping from regular, sequence, and hot-band CO2 laser transitions. The 2 m long far-infrared cavity was a metal-dielectric waveguide closed by two, flat end mirrors. Several short-wavelength (below 100 m) lines were observed. The frequencies of 28 laser lines observed in this cavity (including new lines and already known lines) were measured with a fractional uncertainty limited by the fractional resetability of the far-infrared laser cavity, of 2 parts in 107.  相似文献

A transverse flow, transverse discharge cw CO2 laser in which de discharge is sustained by employing high repetition rate high voltage pulses has been developed. Pulser sustained discharge through electrodes of innovative design provided uniform excitation at electrical input power densities more than 10 W/cc. Laser output power more than 2.5 kW was obtained in a laser gas mixture consisting of 0.5 mbar of CO2, 16 mbar of N2 and 38.5 mbar of He.
