Coupling efficiency of the rectangular waveguide resonators are discussed in terms of the method of angular spectrum theory. Under the condition given in the paper, the coupling coefficients for the EH11 mode in the rectangular waveguide resonator are presented as a function of mirror curvature and position. It is shown that there exist two special geometries to provide low coupling efficiency. The method can be applied to the other modes.  相似文献

Based on classical electromagnetic theory, characteristics of guided modes in a rectangular waveguide filled with a pair of single-negative layers are studied. The results show that only surface waves of TE mode can propagate in this peculiar waveguide, no TM mode in any forms can propagate in it. In addition, TE waveguide modes will be affected by permeability ratio μ1/μ2 and dielectric layer thickness ratio P. Finally, from the electric field distribution of TE mode, we find the amplitude and location of the electric field can be adjusted by changing the thickness ratio P.  相似文献

In this paper, transmission characteristics of wave modes in a rectangular waveguide filled with lossless anisotropic metamaterial are theoretically investigated. The wave equation and dispersion relations for TE and TM modes in the waveguide are obtained and analyzed. It is shown that the negative constitutive parameters of the filling anisotropic metamaterial can be used to control the wave magnitude and the phase velocity direction in the waveguide over the entire frequency domain, both below and above the cutoff frequency. Particularly, not only backward waves, but also forward waves can propagate below the cutoff frequency in the waveguide. Furthermore, a typical example is calculated to demonstrate transmission characteristics of waves inside the waveguide. Numerical results are obtained in the paper and compared with theoretical predictions: a good agreement is found.  相似文献

针对在自由空间中测试超介质吸波材料的高复杂性及高成本特点, 实验研究了4种由电谐振单元构成的超介质吸波材料在X波段(8–12 GHz)矩形波导里的吸波性能. 实验结果表明, 此4种吸波材料在终端短路的矩形波导里显示出与其在自由空间中相似的吸波性能及吸波机理.据此, 进一步研究了基于超介质吸波材料的矩形波导匹配终端应用. 分析结果显示, 此种新型匹配终端具有结构紧凑、工作频段可简单控制、成本低等优点. 通过展宽超介质吸波材料的吸波频段可设计出宽频带的矩形波导匹配终端. 关键词: 电谐振单元 超介质 吸波材料 匹配终端  相似文献

The changes in the dispersion characteristics of modes of isotropic metamaterial layer in a rectangular waveguide have been analyzed. It is shown that metal walls significantly affect the mode dispersion due to the redistribution of energy fluxes and broaden the waveguiding properties of the layer to the propagation range of fast waves. A variation in the waveguide parameters makes it possible, in particular, to implement an interesting class of eigenmodes with fast forward and slow backward waves.  相似文献

The natural frequencies and distributions of displacement components for the surface vibrational modes in thin isotropic elastic disks are calculated. In particular, the research is focused on even solutions for low-lying resonant vibrations with large angular wave numbers. Several families of modes are found which are interpreted as modified surface modes of an infinitely long cylinder and Lamb modes of a plate. The results of calculation are compared with the results of the experimental measurements of vibrational modes generated by means of resonant excitation in duraluminum disk with radius of ≈90 mm and thickness of 16 mm in the frequency range of 130–200 kHz. An excellent agreement between the calculated and measured frequencies is found. Measurements of the structure of the resonant peaks show splitting of some modes. About a half of the measured modes has splitting Δfsplit/fmodeΔfsplit/fmode at the level of the order of 10−5. The Q-factors of all modes measured in vacuum lie in the interval (2…3) × 105. This value is typical for duraluminum mechanical resonators in the ultrasonic frequency range.  相似文献

An optimized geometry for a rectangular ferroelectric resonator (FR) is proposed to increase signal-to-noise ratio in EPR spectroscopy. To develop optimization criteria, the distribution of the microwave electromagnetic field in the FR is computed and analyzed. The computations, based on solution of Maxwell's field equations, were made for two types of rectangular FRs-a FR with a hollow sample hole and a FR with a blind sample hole. To introduce the samples, a hole was drilled through the resonator with its axis aligned to the axis of the FR. We computed and studied the spatial distributions of H- and E-components of the microwave electromagnetic field for two rectangular FRs, made of single-crystal potassium tantalate, with the following sizes: 1.9 x 1.9 x 1.4mm(3) and 1.7 x 1.7 x 3.1mm(3). As analysis of the obtained data indicated, in both resonators, the lowest mode was TE(11delta). By analyzing the distribution of the microwave field in the FR and comparing it with the experimental result, we developed optimization criteria for the geometry of a rectangular FR.  相似文献

Predicting thermoelastic damping (TED) is crucial in the design of high Q micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) resonators. In the past, some analytical models have been developed for TED in microbeam resonators. Rectangular and circular microplates are also common elements in many micro-resonators. Two analytical models have been developed for TED in the contour-mode vibration and the out-of-plane vibration of circular microplates, respectively. However, there is lack of works that model the TED in the out-of-plane vibration of rectangular microplates. This paper presents an analytical model for the TED in the fully clamped and simply supported rectangular microplates. The quality factor is found by calculating the energy dissipated per cycle of vibration over the volume of the microplate. The derivation in this paper shows that the model for the TED in the fully clamped and simply supported rectangular plates is the same as the model for the TED in the fully clamped and simply supported circular plates. For the rectangular microplates with other boundary conditions, based on Rayleigh's method, this paper presents a set of analytical approximate models to estimate the TED in the rectangular microplates vibrating in the fundamental mode. The present model is validated by comparison with previously reported model and the FEM model.  相似文献

本文提出并采用非对角化的分析法研究无源空心波导谐振腔横模模式间的竞争与转换。从计算EH_(1m)类波导本征模在腔内的转换矩阵中发现:在模式的传输过程中,存在着横模模式间的相互转换,而且其互换的能量不相等。在一定的腔设计条件下,会出现高阶横模向低阶横模的能量净流动,这有利于谐振腔横模模式的选择和基模输出功率的提高。  相似文献

The problem on the scattering of a zero-order axisymmetric mode by a ring of equally spaced identical monopole-dipole resonators positioned in the cross section of a wide circular pipe is considered. We demonstrate optical modes in InGaAs/GaAs microtubes acting as optical ring resonators. Self-supporting microtubes were fabricated by optical lithography and wet-etching processes utilizing the self-rolling mechanism of strained bilayers. The optical modes were probed by the photoluminescence of InAs quantum dots embedded in the tube's wall. In this novel microtube ring resonator we find a spectrum of sharp modes. They are in very good agreement with the theoretical results for a closed thin dielectric waveguide.  相似文献

We report what is to our knowledge the first observation of Ince-Gaussian modes directly generated in a stable resonator. By slightly breaking the symmetry of the cavity of a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser and its pump beam configuration we were able to generate single high-order Ince-Gaussian modes of high quality. The observed transverse modes have an inherent elliptic structure and exhibit remarkable agreement with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

Measurements have been done in the millimeter wave region on a composite waveguide which comprises a dielectric rod waveguide connecting two metal rectangular waveguides. Such a waveguide has been used by us in a Josephson harmonic mixer installed in a small metal cryostat, to prevent the thermal invasion from outside environment and to transmit both signal and LO waves with small losses. The measured transmission loss, that is caused mainly by the coupling loss between metal rectangular waveguides (TE10 mode) and a dielectric rod waveguide (HE11 mode), has been less than 2dB in the frequency range of 52–104 GHz.  相似文献

We report numerical simulations, based on a finite difference time domain (FDTD) method, of light propagation in two-dimensional semiconductor micro-optical waveguides coupled to one or several lateral stubs. It is shown that when the stub is covered with a perfectly metallic thin layer, the transmission spectrum contains several narrow dips. Such simulation of the metallic coating can be used in the far infrared frequency domain, far from the optical regime. We propose a selective filtering device based on the interaction between several stubs. Inserting an appropriate defect stub between a set of periodical stubs leads to a tunnelling transmission, with a narrow peak inside the gap. This filtering phenomenon is used to propose a demultiplexer based on a Y-shaped waveguide for separating signals with different frequencies. Finally, we show that the filtering effect of a stub can also be reproduced when the metal is described in the frame of a Drude model instead of being perfect, which makes plausible the realization of the above devices in the near optical regime.  相似文献

Optical waveguide ring resonator is the basic element of resonator integrated optic gyro (RIOG). In this paper, we report a novel configuration of optical waveguide ring resonator using a multi-turn structure. The characteristic of the light propagating across the crossed waveguides is analyzed using the finite difference beam propagation method. The relationship between the propagation loss and the intersection angle for arbitrary intersecting angles has been analyzed. Some crossed waveguides are fabricated in silica waveguides to verify the theoretical results. On this basis, the influences of the loop numbers and the excess loss of the crossed waveguide on the limited sensitivity of the RIOG have been analyzed. There is a critical intersection angle for certain resonator, only when the intersection angle is bigger than the critical angle, the gyro sensitivity can be improved by increasing the loop numbers. This will be helpful to how to determine the optimum length in resonator for its application in RIOG.  相似文献
