We consider the solution of the problem of elastic equilibrium of a three-dimensional orthotropic plate in the absence of displacements on the end surfaces under the action of forces applied to the lateral surfaces. The solution of the original problem by Vekua's method is reduced to the solution of a recursive sequence of two-dimensional problems. A numerical solution of these problems is obtained by computer using the finite-difference method. We study the problem of optimal control of the distribution of vertical axisymmetric thermal displacements of a thin circular plate fixed along its edge. The displacements are caused by a nonstationary heat load on one of the end surfaces. The thermal action on the other end surface is chosen as the control function. With the use of additional boundary conditions in integral method of heat balance, we obtain analytic solution to nonstationary problem of heat conductivity for infinite plate. Relying on determination of a front of heat disturbance, we perform a division of heat conductivity process into two stages in time. The first stage comes to the end after the front of disturbance arrives the center of the plate. At the second stage the heat exchange occurs at the whole thickness of the plate, and we introduce an additional sought-for function which characterizes the temperature change in its center. Practically the assigned exactness of solutions at both stages is provided by introduction on boundaries of a domain and on the front of heat perturbation the additional boundary conditions. Their fulfillment is equivalent to the sought-for solution in differential equation therein. We show that with the increasing of number of approximations the accuracy of fulfillment of the equation increases. Note that the usage of an integral of heat balance allows the application of the given method for solving differential equations that do not admit a separation of variables (nonlinear, with variable physical properties etc.).  相似文献

A three-dimensional analytical solution describing forced harmonic vibrations of prestressed laminated plates is found for the case of a hinged support. The solution is based on the analytical separation of variables. It is assumed that the prestressed state is homogeneous, subcritical, linear, and momentless and that the vibration amplitudes are small. A solution based on a model with a polynomial approximation of the required displacement functions across the plate thickness is also considered. These functions are found on the front surfaces of the structure. This allows us to solve the problem both in the continuous and discrete structural approaches. In the continuous structural approach, the order of the resolving system of equations is independent of the number of layers. In the discrete structural approach, for rigid contact of layers with similar boundary conditions at the plate end face, an algorithm can be introduced which reduces significantly the number of operations required for realization of the model proposed. In the numerical examples presented, both rigid and sliding contacts of layers and various prestressed conditions are considered. Both approaches give results that agree well.  相似文献

This paper presents the free vibration analysis of piezoelectric coupled annular plates with variable thickness on the basis of the Mindlin plate theory. No work has yet been done on piezoelectric laminated plates while the thickness is variable. Two piezoelectric layers are embedded on the upper and lower surfaces of the host plate. The host plate thickness is linearly increased in the radial direction while the piezoelectric layers thicknesses remain constant along the radial direction. Different combinations of three types of boundary conditions i.e. clamped, simply supported, and free end conditions are considered at the inner and outer edges of plate. The Maxwell static electricity equation in piezoelectric layers is satisfied using a quadratic distribution of electric potential along the thickness. The natural frequencies are obtained utilizing a Rayleigh–Ritz energy approach and are validated by comparing with those obtained by finite element analysis. A good compliance is observed between numerical solution and finite element analysis. Convergence study is performed in order to verify the numerical stability of the present method. The effects of different geometrical parameters such as the thickness of piezoelectric layers and the angle of host plate on the natural frequencies of the assembly are investigated.  相似文献

This paper addresses a 3D elasticity analytical solution for static deformation of a simply-supported rectangular micro/nanoplate made of both homogeneous and functionally graded (FG) material within the framework of modified couple stress theory. The plate is assumed to be resting on a Winkler–Pasternak elastic foundation, and its modulus of elasticity is assumed to vary exponentially along thickness. By expanding displacement components in double Fourier series along in-plane coordinates and imposing relevant boundary conditions, the boundary value problem (BVP) of plate system, including its governing partial differential equations (PDEs) of equilibrium are reduced to BVP consisting only ordinary ones (ODEs). Parametric studies are conducted among displacement and stress components developed in the plate and FG material gradient index, length scale parameter, and foundation stiffnesses. From the numerical results, it is concluded that the out-of-plane shear stresses are not necessarily zero at the top and bottom surfaces of plate. The results of this investigation may serve as a benchmark to verify further bending analyses of either homogeneous or FG micro/nanoplates on elastic foundation.  相似文献

We consider a problem of wedging of an elastic wedge by a rigid plate along an edge crack that is located on the axis of symmetry of the wedge and reaches its vertex. The detachment of the crack faces from the surfaces of the plate is taken into account. Using the Wiener–Hopf method, we obtain an analytic solution of the problem. The size of the detachment zone, the stress intensity factor, the distribution of stresses on the line of continuation of the crack and in the contact domain, and circular displacements of the crack faces are determined.  相似文献

We solve the problem of planar deformation of an isotropic plate fastened at one surface or symmetrically in its two surfaces to cover plates of a different material. As initial data we use the approximate relations of the two-dimensional formulation, which take account of the shear and the transverse compression of the plate. In this paper, we present an alternative method to investigate scattering of water waves by a submerged thin vertical elastic plate in the context of linear theory. The plate is submerged either in deep water or in the water of uniform finite depth. Using the condition on the plate, together with the end conditions, the derivative of the velocity potential in the direction of normal to the plate is expressed in terms of a Green’s function. This expression is compared with that obtained by employing Green’s integral theorem to the scattered velocity potential and the Green’s function for the fluid region. This produces a hypersingular integral equation of the first kind in the difference in potential across the plate. The reflection coefficients are computed using the solution of the hypersingular integral equation. We find good agreement when the results for these quantities are compared with those for a vertical elastic plate and submerged and partially immersed rigid plates. New results for the hydrodynamic force on the plate, the shear stress and the shear strain of the vertical elastic plate are also evaluated and represented graphically.  相似文献

We prove that, in Euclidean space, any nonnegatively curved, compact, smoothly immersed hypersurface lies outside the convex hull of its boundary, provided the boundary satisfies certain required conditions. This gives a convex hull property, dual to the classical one for surfaces with nonpositive curvature. A version of this result in the nonsmooth category is obtained as well. We show that our boundary conditions determine the topology of the surface up to at most two choices. The proof is based on uniform estimates for radii of convexity of these surfaces under a clipping procedure, a noncollapsing convergence theorem, and a gluing procedure.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a linear three-dimensional structural acoustic model which takes account of displacement, rotational inertia and shear effects in the flat flexible structural component of the model. Thus the deflections of the structural component of the structure are governed by the Reissner–Mindlin plate equations. We show strong stabilization of the coupled model without incorporating viscous or boundary damping in the equations for the gas dynamics and without imposing geometric conditions. It turns out that damping is needed in the interior of the plate, to which end Kelvin–Voigt damping is introduced in the plate equations. As our main tool we use a resolvent criterion for strong stability due to Tomilov.  相似文献

We consider a multi-structure consisting of a plate reinforced by a thin stiffener on a portion of its boundary. The model we consider for this structure (viewed as a heterogeneous plate) is nonlinear and takes into account the transverse shear effects. This paper presents the exact, explicit solution for the transient motion of a circular plate surface bonded by two piezoelectric layers, based on Kirchhoff plate model. The distribution of eclectic potential along the thickness direction is simulated by a quadratic function so that the Maxwell static electricity equation is satisfied. The piezoelectric layers are electrically grounded over the edge and electrodes at the two surfaces of the piezoelectric layers are shortly connected. The differential equations of motion are solved for simply supported and clamped boundary conditions. We study geodesics on planar Riemann surfaces of infinite type having a single infinite end. Of particular interest is the class of geodesics that go out the infinite end in a most efficient manner. We establish an existence theorem for the two-dimensional equations of a nonlinearly elastic “flexural” shell, recently justified by V. Lods and B. Miara by the method of formal asymptotic expansions applied to the corresponding three-dimensional equations of nonlinear elasticity. To this end, we show that the associated energy has at least one minimizer over the corresponding set of admissible deformations. The strain energy is a quadratic expression in terms of the “exact” change of curvature tensor, between the deformed and undeformed middle surfaces; the set of admissible deformations is formed by the deformations of the undeformed middle surface that preserve its metric and satisfy boundary conditions of clamping or simple support.  相似文献

We study the stability of surfaces trapped between two parallel planes with free boundary on these planes. The energy functional consists of anisotropic surface energy, wetting energy, and line tension. Equilibrium surfaces are surfaces with constant anisotropic mean curvature. We study the case where the Wulff shape is of “product form”, that is, its horizontal sections are all homothetic and have a certain symmetry. Such an anisotropic surface energy is a natural generalization of the area of the surface. In particular, we study the stability of parts of anisotropic Delaunay surfaces which arise as equilibrium surfaces. They are surfaces of the same product form of the Wulff shape. We show that, for these surfaces, the stability analysis can be reduced to the case where the surface is axially symmetric and the functional is replaced by an appropriate axially symmetric one. Moreover, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the stability of anisotropic sessile drops.  相似文献

Using the method of A. L. Gol'denveizer we reduce the three-dimensional problem of high-frequency steady-state vibrations of a thin isotropic plate to a series of two-dimensional problems. We construct two recursive processes that describe the basic stress-strain state of the plate. It is established that the first coefficient of the asymptotic expansion of the natural frequency of vibrations is determined by the boundary conditions on the plane faces of the plate and is independent of the conditions on its lateral surface. Therefore to solve the problem it is necessary to take account of at least two approximations of the recursive processes.
