Elastic scattering and inclusive breakup of 6Li particles on 12C, 58Ni, 90Zr, and 208Pb targets are measured at 100A MeV. The elastic scattering data are compared with single channel and Coupled Discretized Continuum Channels calculations. The coupling-effect between the elastic and the breakup channels is important even at an incident energy of 100A MeV and cannot be neglected. The inclusive breakup data are investigated for orbital dispersion effects which are found to be less significant at 100A MeV. The longitudinal momentum distributions are broader than predicted by theoretical expectations. Received: 17 December 1999 / Revised version: 9 February 2000  相似文献

Radioactive 17F beams were produced at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility (HRIBF) using the Isotope Separator On-Line (ISOL) technique. Two of the experiments using accelerated 17F beams to study reaction mechanisms are presented: the simultaneous emission of two protons from a resonance in 18Ne and the breakup of 17F by 208Pb.  相似文献

The elastic and inelastic scattering of 6Li on 12C, 58Ni, 90Zr, and 208Pb targets at 600 MeV are analyzed via double-folding optical model potentials based on the S1Y effective nucleon–nucleon (NN) interaction and tρρ approximation. Information is provided, by single- and coupled-channel calculations, on the effect of breakup and its feedback on the elastic scattering of 6Li ions. Experimental results are successfully reproduced. The in-medium NN cross-section and second-order (double-scattering) correction to the tρρ potential are taken into account. Reaction cross-sections are computed from exact and approximate solutions.  相似文献

The interaction of loosely bound (S p = 600 keV) 17F ions with a 208Pb target was studied at E lab = 86 MeV, below the Coulomb barrier, by measuring the differential cross-section for the quasi-elastic scattering and the cross-section for the exclusive breakup process 17F $ \rightarrow$ 16O + p . The small reaction and exclusive breakup cross-sections confirm the small reactivity of this system, even at low energy, and indicates that the 17F small binding energy plays a minor role in the reaction dynamics.  相似文献

Medium energy proton elastic and inelastic scattering to states of 58Ni and 208Pb, and 4He elastic and inelastic scattering to states of 40Ca, are analyzed using the partial wave approach, by solving the Schrödinger equation with relativistic kinematics and using the distorted wave Born approximation. Our results can be compared with results of several previous analyses of the nucleon inelastic data using the Glauber approximation. Our calculations are absolute, using nuclear collective parameters obtained from a survey of a large number of low-energy analyses of inelastic scattering of electrons, nucleons and nuclei from 40Ca, 58Ni and 208Pb.  相似文献

The Coulomb dipole induced dynamic polarization potentials for 6He + 209Bi and 11Li + 208Pb systems within the framework of Feshbach’s formalism with a motive to ascertain the presence or absence of threshold anomaly have been studied. As a result of this study, the threshold anomaly has been found to be present for both systems. It has also been found that at deep sub-barrier energies the imaginary part either starts increasing or at least remains unchanged which indicates the presence of the breakup threshold anomaly. In addition, the Coulomb breakup transmission factors for both systems have been found to have maximum value below and near-barrier energies, but at very high energies due to closure of the breakup channel the breakup transmission coefficients quickly becomes zero.  相似文献

Partial-fusion cross-sections for the systems 6Li + 208Pb, 9Be + 209Bi have been determined. The effect of breakup on fusion for weakly bound projectiles 6Li and 9Be incident on 208Pb or 209Bi targets has been discussed comparing experimental fusion cross-section excitation functions to those evaluated with a semi-classical approach. It is shown that complete fusion of a weakly bound projectile with heavy target is reduced, whereas the breakup process has very little influence on the total-fusion cross-section for some of the studied systems at energies above the Coulomb barrier.  相似文献

The calculated elastic scattering of 1.04-GeV protons by 208Pb, 58Ni, and 40Ca is compared with experiment. The effects of the spin-orbit potential, Pauli and short-range correlations, variations in the ratio of the real to the imaginary part of the nucleon-nucleon scattering amplitude at 0° are found to have similar effects. Further experiments are required before these effects can be disentangled. Changes of the neutron density compared to the proton density can be distinguished. The proton polarization by elastic scattering by 208Pb and 40Ca is calculated omitting the effects of correlations.  相似文献

Elastic scattering of polarized deuterons at Ed = 56 MeV is investigated for 16O, 40Ca, 58Ni, 118Sn and 208Pb target nuclei by the use of folding interactions. Effects of virtual breakup of the deuteron to S- and D-states in the continuum region are taken into account by the CDCC method and are found to make indispensable contributions to cross sections and analyzing powers, where continuum-continuum couplings are substantial. The contribution of the D-state admixture in the ground state is important for the tensor analyzing powers. The calculated results agree well with experimental data. The invariant-amplitude method and the second-order sum rule study clarify the characteristic feature of the spin dependence of the effective interactions due to the virtual breakup. The near-side/far-side decomposition of scattering amplitudes illuminates the difference of the reaction mechanism between light and heavy target nuclei. The investigation for the 208Pb target at Ed = 21.5 MeV gives important information on the energy dependence of the effective interactions. The use of different parameter sets for the input nucleon-target optical potentials shows that the detailed results depend significantly on the choice of the parameter sets.  相似文献

Coupled reaction channels calculations (CRC) of the reactions 208Pb(17O, 16O)209Pb leading to different states of 209Pb are compared with DWBA predictions at projectile energies of 78, 86 and 102 MeV. The calculations exhibit strong effects of multistep processes on Q-value and angular-momentum-mismatched transfer reactions. It is shown that the contribution to the transfer through the inelastic excitation of 17O contains a major part of the multistep effect. A simple three-channel model comprising the elastic, inelastic and transfer channels is constructed which simulates the CRC effects on the transfer cross sections. The polarization effects of the eliminated channels give rise to effective potentials which are mainly imaginary.  相似文献

Large cross-section reaction channels were measured in the systems 6Li( 7Li) + 208Pb with high statistical accuracy at 5(3) energies around the Coulomb barrier from 29 to 39 MeV. These channels were assigned (mainly) to the breakup of 6Li, very loosely bound, into α + d and to the breakup of 5Li, produced by n-transfer to the target, into α + p and to similar processes with 7Li beam. The cross-sections with 6Li, S α = 1.475 MeV, are systematically larger than the 7Li ones. This reflects, most likely, the higher binding energy of 7Li, S α = 2.468 MeV. Theoretical predictions for the 6Li + 208Pb system which include for 6Li breakup to continuum states within a continuum discretized coupled-channels approach (CDCC) and resonant breakup plus n-transfer with DWBA reproduce the angular distribution shapes but still underestimate the cross-sections by a factor ∼ 3. The breakup reactions of weakly-bound nuclei at energies around the Coulomb barrier and the corresponding coupling effect on the other reaction channels are hot topics nowadays. To overcome the difficulty in identifying both heavier and lighter fragments simultaneously, a new kind of ionization-chamber based detector telescope has been designed and manufactured. It consists of a PCB ionization chamber and three different thickness silicon detectors installed inside the chamber, which form a multilayer ΔE-ER telescope. The working conditions were surveyed by using an α source. An in-beam test experiment shows that the detector has good particle identification for heavy particles like 17F and 16O as well as light particles like protons and alpha particles. The measured quasi-elastic scattering angular distribution and the related discussions for 17F+208Pb are presented.  相似文献

The interaction between deuterons and 58, 62Ni nuclei at energies of E d = 3.5, 4.5 and 5.16 MeV is investigated. The discrepancy between measured scattering elastic cross section and the Rutherford ones is higher than the value calculated theoretically by considering deuterons polarization and Coulomb breakup. Analysis of measured cross section of 58, 62Ni(d, p) reaction and the results of calculation of Coulomb breakup cross section integrated over neutron emission angles shows that that the dominant mechanism of proton formation is the reaction of neutron transfer to the target nucleus.  相似文献

Angular distribution measurements of proton polarization in the 208Pb(d, p)209Pb reaction to the ground g9/2 state were made at an incident deuteron energy of 20 MeV using a high efficiency proton polarimeter. Distorted wave Born approximation analysis and continuum discretized coupled channel analysis were performed on the data and compared with measurements of the angular distribution of the vector analyzing power for the same reaction. The result of the calculations predict that the angular distribution of the vector analyzing power should be similar to that of the polarization. However, the experimental data gives different angular distributions. The measured vector analyzing power is well reproduced by the calculations, while the polarization is not well reproduced.  相似文献

The effects of adding an effective imaginary part to real inelastic microscopic form factors in DWA are investigated. Calculations are compared to data for the proton differential cross sections and asymmetries of the lowest-lying states of 120Sn, 58Ni, and 208Pb. Proton spin flip is calculated for 120Sn. Both collective imaginary and effective microscopic imaginary contributions were considered. The most substantial improvements were in fits to asymmetry data. Collective-model calculations indicate the effects of complex coupling are comparable to those of the deformed spin-orbit well.  相似文献

Elastic scattering of 288,340,480 and 699 MeV Alpha-particles was measured on 208Pb, 116Sn and 58Ni. The data were analysed in terms of a phenomenological optical model. The optical potentials obtained were found to vary consistently with the target nucleus and the incident energy. The radial zone where the potentials are well determined was studied in detail. The data for 208Pb were also analysed with a folding model. The energy dependence of the strong-absorption radius and of the reaction cross section shows that the nuclear surface becomes slightly transparent for incident energies above 150 MeV per nucleon.  相似文献

High-spin states in 208Pb have been studied by γ-ray-spectroscopy methods in deep inelastic reactions induced by beams of 208Pb, 136Xe and 76Ge beams on a thick 208Pb target. The 11+ 2 state and new γ-transitions between the one-particle one-hole states of highest spin have been found and electromagnetic matrix elements verified. High-spin states of two-particle two-hole structure have been detected for the first time. The results are compared to shell model calculations with realistic interactions in the complete Kuo-Herling space. Received: 31 October 2000 / Accepted: 26 March 2001  相似文献

We calculate the angular distribution and total cross section of the 7Be fragment emitted in the break up reaction of 8B on 58Ni and 208Pb targets at the subcoulomb beam energy of 25.8 MeV, within the non-relativistic theory of Coulomb excitation with proper three-body kinematics. The relative contributions of the E1, E2 and M1 multipolarities to the cross sections are determined. The E2 component makes up about 65% and 40% of the 7Be total cross section for the 58Ni and 208Pb targets respectively. We find that the extraction of the astrophysical S-factor, S17(0), for the 7Be(p,γ)8B reaction at solar energies from the measurements of the cross sections of the 7Be fragment in the Coulomb dissociation of 8B at sub-Coulomb energies is still not free from the uncertainties of the E2 component.  相似文献
