The micellar macro‐RAFT agent‐mediated dispersion polymerization of styrene in the methanol/water mixture is performed and synthesis of temperature‐sensitive ABC triblock copolymer nanoparticles is investigated. The thermoresponsive diblock copolymer of poly(N,N‐dimethylacrylamide)‐block‐poly[N‐(4‐vinylbenzyl)‐N,N‐diethylamine] trithiocarbonate forms micelles in the polymerization solvent at the polymerization temperature and, therefore, the dispersion RAFT polymerization undergoes as similarly as seeded dispersion polymerization with accelerated polymerization rate. With the progress of the RAFT polymerization, the molecular weight of the synthesized triblock copolymer of poly(N,N‐dimethylacrylamide)‐block‐poly[N‐(4‐vinylbenzyl)‐N,N‐diethylamine]‐b‐polystyrene linearly increases with the monomer conversion, and the PDI values of the triblock copolymers are below 1.2. The dispersion RAFT polymerization affords the in situ synthesis of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles, and the mean diameter of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles increases with the polymerization degree of the polystyrene block. The triblock copolymer nanoparticles contain a central thermoresponsive poly [N‐(4‐vinylbenzyl)‐N,N‐diethylamine] block, and the soluble‐to‐insoluble ‐‐transition temperature is dependent on the methanol content in the methanol/water mixture. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Doubly thermoresponsive ABC brush‐linear‐linear triblock copolymer nanoparticles of poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether vinylphenyl]‐block‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐block‐polystyrene [P(mPEGV)‐b‐PNIPAM‐b‐PS] containing two thermoresponsive blocks of poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether vinylphenyl] [P(mPEGV)] and poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) are prepared by macro‐RAFT agent mediated dispersion polymerization. The P(mPEGV)‐b‐PNIPAM‐b‐PS nanoparticles exhibit two separate lower critical solution temperatures or phase‐transition temperatures (PTTs) corresponding to the linear PNIPAM block and the brush P(mPEGV) block in water. Upon temperature increasing above the first and then the second PTT, the hydrodynamic diameter (Dh) of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles undergoes an initial shrinkage at the first PTT and the subsequent shrinkage at the second PTT. The effect of the chain length of the PNIPAM block on the thermoresponsive behavior of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles is investigated. It is found that, the longer chains of the thermoresponsive PNIPAM block, the greater contribution on the transmittance change of the aqueous dispersion of the triblock copolymer nanoparticles. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Aqueous RAFT polymerization of N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) mediated with hydrophilic macro‐RAFT agent is generally used to prepare poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM)‐based block copolymer. Because of the phase transition temperature of the block copolymer in water being dependent on the chain length of the PNIPAM block, the aqueous RAFT polymerization is much more complex than expected. Herein, the aqueous RAFT polymerization of NIPAM in the presence of the hydrophilic macro‐RAFT agent of poly(dimethylacrylamide) trithiocarbonate is studied and compared with the homogeneous solution RAFT polymerization. This aqueous RAFT polymerization leads to the well‐defined poly(dimethylacrylamide)‐b‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐b‐poly(dimethylacrylamide) (PDMA‐b‐PNIPAM‐b‐PDMA) triblock copolymer. It is found, when the triblock copolymer contains a short PNIPAM block, the aqueous RAFT polymerization undergoes just like the homogeneous one; whereas when the triblock copolymer contains a long PNIPAM block, both the initial homogeneous polymerization and the subsequent dispersion polymerization are involved and the two‐stage ln([M]o/[M])‐time plots are indicated. The reason that the PNIPAM chain length greatly affects the aqueous RAFT polymerization is discussed. The present study is anticipated to be helpful to understand the chain extension of thermoresponsive block copolymer during aqueous RAFT polymerization. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of well‐defined amphiphilic triblock copolymers, poly(ethylene glycol)‐b‐poly(tert‐butyl acrylate)‐b‐poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PEG‐b‐PtBA‐b‐PHEMA), were synthesized via successive atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). ATRP of tBA was first initiated by PEG‐Br macroinitiator using CuBr/N,N,N′,N″,N′″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine as catalytic system to give PEG‐b‐PtBA diblock copolymer. This copolymer was then used as macroinitiator to initiate ATRP of HEMA, which afforded the target triblock copolymer, PEG‐b‐PtBA‐b‐PHEMA. The critical micelle concentrations of obtained amphiphilic triblock copolymers were determined by fluorescence spectroscopy using N‐phenyl‐1‐naphthylamine as probe. The morphology and size of formed aggregates were investigated by transmission electron microscopy and dynamic light scattering, respectively. Finally, an acid‐sensitive PEG‐b‐PtBA‐b‐P(HEMA‐CAD) prodrug via cis‐aconityl linkage between doxorubicin and hydroxyls of triblock copolymers with a high drug loading content up to 38%, was prepared to preliminarily explore the application of triblock copolymer in drug delivery. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Environmental switches may be fabricated for the controlled release of pharmaceutical drug using a thermally responsive polymer with the intrinsic chemical and physical nature of stimuli‐sensitive smart materials. Particularly, much attention has been paid to the biomedical applications of poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAAm) because of its unique reversible transition at a specific lower critical solution temperature (LCST).Thermally sensitive block copolymers, poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide‐b‐poly(L ‐lactide‐co‐glycolide) (PNIPAAm‐b‐PLGA), and polyethylene glycol‐poly (lactide‐co‐glycolide) (PEG‐PLGA) triblock copolymers with different compositions and length of PLGA block were synthesized via ring‐opening polymerization of lactide and glycolide in the presence of OH‐terminated PNIPAAm or PEG. The composition and structure of the polymer were determined by NMR and FTIR. The effect of important factors, such as ionic strength, pH, and polymer concentration on the phase transition behavior of temperature‐sensitive polymers, were investigated by cloud point measurements. The resulting thermosensitive polymers were used for the entrapment of a narcotic antagonist drug, naltrexone, as the model drug. The loading efficiency and drug release behavior of naltrexone‐loaded hydrogels were investigated. The naltrexone loaded thermosensitive polymers were able to sustain the release of naltrexone for different periods of time, depending on the polymer composition, and concentration. In vitro release studies showed that these thermosensitive polymers are able to deliver naltrexone in biologically active forms at a controlled rate for 3–8 weeks. A novel copolymer based on supramolecular motif 2,6‐diaminopyridine and water‐soluble acrylamide, poly[N‐(6‐acetamidopyridin‐2‐yl) acrylamide‐co‐acrylamide], was synthesized via reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization with various monomer compositions. The thermoresponsive behavior of the copolymers was studied by turbidimetry and dynamic light scattering (DLS). The obtained copolymers showed an upper critical solution temperature (UCST)‐type phase transition behavior in water and electrolyte solution. The phase transition temperature was found to increase with decreasing amount of acrylamide in the copolymer and increasing concentration of the solution. Furthermore, the phase transition temperature varied in aqueous solutions of electrolytes according to the nature and concentration of the electrolyte in accordance with the Hoffmeister series. A dramatic solvent isotope effect on the transition temperature was observed in this study, as the transition temperature was almost 10–12 °C higher in D2O than in H2O at the same concentration and acrylamide composition. The size of the aggregates below the transition temperature was larger in D2O compared to that in H2O that can be explained by deuterium isotope effect. The thermoresponsive behavior of the copolymers was also investigated in different cell medium and found to be exhibited UCST‐type phase transition behavior in different cell medium. Such behavior of the copolymers can be useful in many applications including biomedical, microfluidics, optical materials, and in drug delivery. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. A novel thermoresponsive shell crosslinked three‐layer onion‐like polymer particles were prepared using hyperbranched polyglycerol (PG) as parents compound, the periphery hydroxyl groups of PG were transformed into trithiocarbonates (? SC(S)S? ) first; then, it was used as chain transfer agent to prepare star‐like block copolymer of N‐isopropyl acrylamide (NIPA) and N,N‐dimethylaminoethyl acrylate (DMA) in sequence via reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) process. Thus, a three‐layer polymer, PG? [SC(S)S? (DMA)? b? (NIPA)]n, was obtained. The middle layer of poly(DMA) was then crosslinked with 1,8‐diiodoctane, and the resulting onion‐like three‐layer polymer showed a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) in water because of the outer layer of poly(NIPA). The LCST value only slightly depended on the crosslinking degree. Finally, the ? SC(S)S? were transformed into thiols by sequential treating with sodium borohydride and formic acid; thus, the core molecule was chemically detached from the crosslinked shell and a novel shell crosslinked polymer particle was obtained. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Conjugated block copolymers consisting of poly(3‐hexyl thiophene) (P3HT) and a thermoresponsive polymer poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAM) with varying composition have been synthesized by facile click reaction between alkyne terminated P3HT and azide terminated PNIPAM. The composition‐dependent solubility, thermoresponsive property in water, phase behavior, electrochemical, optical, and electronic properties of the block copolymers were systematically investigated. The block copolymers with higher volume fraction of PNIPAM form thermoresponsive spherical micelles with P3HT‐rich crystalline cores and PNIPAM coronas. Both X‐ray and atomic force microscopic studies indicated that the blocks copolymers showed well‐defined microphase separated nanostructures and the structure depended on the composition of the blocks. The electrochemical study of the block copolymers clearly demonstrated that the extent of charge transport through the block copolymer thin film was similar to P3HT homopolymer without any significant change in the band gap. The block copolymers showed improved or similar charge carrier mobility compared with the pure P3HT depending on the composition of the block copolymer. These P3HT‐b‐PNIPAM copolymers were interesting for fabrication of optoelectronic devices capable of thermal and moisture sensing as well as for studying the thermoresponsive colloidal structures of semiconductor amphiphilic systems. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A doubly hydrophilic triblock copolymer of poly(N,N‐dimethylamino‐2‐ethyl methacrylate)‐b‐Poly(ethylene glycol)‐b‐poly(N,N‐dimethylamino‐2‐ethylmethacrylate) (PDMAEMA‐b‐PEG‐b‐PDMAEMA) with well‐defined structure and narrow molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn = 1.21) was synthesized in aqueous medium via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of N,N‐dimethylamino‐2‐ethylmethacrylate (DMAEMA) initiated by the PEG macroinitiator. The macroinitiator and triblock copolymer were characterized with 1H NMR and gel permeation chromatography (GPC). Fluorescence spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DSL), transmittance measurement, and rheological characterization were applied to investigate pH‐ and temperature‐induced micellization in the dilute solution of 1 mg/mL when pH > 13 and gelation in the concentrated solution of 25 wt % at pH = 14 and temperatures beyond 80 °C. The unimer of Rh = 3.7 ± 0.8 nm coexisted with micelle of Rh = 45.6 ± 6.5 nm at pH 14. Phase separation occurred in dilute aqueous solution of the triblock copolymer of 1 mg/mL at about 50 °C. Large aggregates with Rh = 300–450 nm were formed after phase separation, which became even larger as Rh = 750–1000 nm with increasing temperature. The gelation temperature determined by rheology measurement was about 80 °C at pH 14 for the 25 wt % aqueous solution of the triblock copolymer. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The self‐assembly process in aqueous solutions of the methoxyl‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐block‐poly(2‐acrylamido‐2‐methyl‐1‐propanesulfonic sodium)‐block‐poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAAM) triblock copolymer, synthesized via two different atomic transfer radical polymerization methods, namely “one‐pot” (P3‐sample) and “two‐pot” (P2‐sample), was studied by various experimental techniques. The “one‐pot” procedure leads to a copolymer (P3) where the PNIPAAM block is contaminated with a minor quantity of 2‐acrylamido‐2‐methyl‐1‐propane sulfonate (AMPS) residuals and this sample does not form micelles over the considered temperature region, but unimers and temperature‐induced aggregates coexist in the presence of a small amount of salt. The P2 polymer forms micelles and intermicellar structures, but the former moieties disappear at high temperatures, whereas the latter species contract with increasing temperature. Small‐angle neutron scattering results revealed correlation peaks, both for P3 and P2, and no micelle formation for P3, but a pronounced upturn of the scattered intensity at low wavevector values at elevated temperatures for the P2 copolymer. The findings from this study clearly show that the spurious AMPS residuals have a drastic influence on the self‐assembly and micelle formation of the triblock copolymer. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Nontoxic and biodegradable poly(?‐caprolactone)‐b‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐b‐poly(?‐caprolactone) triblock copolymers were synthesized by the solution polymerization of ?‐caprolactone in the presence of poly(ethylene glycol). The chemical structure of the resulting triblock copolymer was characterized with 1H NMR and gel permeation chromatography. In aqueous solutions of the triblock copolymers, the micellization and sol–gel‐transition behaviors were investigated. The experimental results showed that the unimer‐to‐micelle transition did occur. In a sol–gel‐transition phase diagram obtained by the vial‐tilting method, the boundary curve shifted to the left, and the gel regions expanded with the increasing molecular weight of the poly(?‐caprolactone) block. In addition, the hydrodynamic diameters of the micelles were almost independent of the investigated temperature (25–55 °C). The atomic force microscopy results showed that spherical micelles formed at the copolymer concentration of 2.5 × 10?4 g/mL, whereas necklace‐like and worm‐like shapes were adopted when the concentration was 0.25 g/mL, which was high enough to form a gel. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel amphiphilic biodegradable triblock copolymer (PGL‐PLA‐PGL) with polylactide (PLA) as hydrophobic middle block and poly(glutamic acid) (PGL) as hydrophilic lateral blocks was successfully synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of L ‐lactide (LA) and N‐carboxy anhydride (NCA) consecutively and by subsequent catalytic hydrogenation. The results of cell experiment of PGL‐PLA‐PGL suggested that PGL could improve biocompatibility of polyester obviously. The copolymer could form micelles of spindly shape easily in aqueous solution. The pendant carboxyl groups of the triblock copolymer were further activated with N‐hydroxysuccinimide and combined with a cell‐adhesive peptide GRGDSY. Incorporation of the oligopeptide further enhanced the hydrophilicity and led to formation of spherical micelles. PGL‐PLA‐PGL showed better cell adhesion and spreading ability than pure PLA and the GRGDSY‐containing copolymer exhibited even further improvement in cell adhesion and spreading ability, indicating that the copolymer could find a promising application in drug delivery or tissue engineering. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The thermoresponsive conductive composite (TCC) thin films and fiber mats, whose electrical property changed with temperature, were fabricated successfully. The thermocrosslinkable and thermoresponsive copolymer, poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide‐coN‐methylolacrylamide) (PNN), was synthesized. The TCC thin film and fiber mat were fabricated by spin coating and electrospinning process of PEDOT:PSS/PNN solutions, respectively. After thermocrosslinking and doping by DMSO, the composite thin films and fiber mats were obtained. Fibrous structures of TCC fiber mats were observed by SEM. The surface resistance and conductivity of composites were measured. The thermoresponsivity and swelling ratio of TCCs were also studied. The thermoresponsive conductive property was analyzed by measuring the surface resistance of TCCs in water bath under various temperatures from 20 to 50 °C. With the increase of temperature, the TCCs shrank to be dense structure and showed lower surface resistance. The TCC fibers mat exhibited greater sensitivity to temperature than thin film owing to its fibrous structure. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Two triblock polymers, tetraaniline‐block‐poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide)‐block‐poly(hydroxyethyl acrylate) (TA‐b‐PNIPAM‐b‐PHEA) and TA‐b‐PHEA‐b‐PNIPAM, were synthesized with unambiguous structure by a two step method. The difference of these two diblock polymers is the connection order of carboxyl group to block, e.g., carboxyl group to PNIPAM block for PNIPAM‐b‐PHEA and to PHEA block for PHEA‐b‐PNIPAM. Secondly, block tetraaniline was linked to the diblock polymer through amidation to yield the corresponding triblock copolymer. Both of them have almost the identical chemical compositions. The only difference is the connection order of each block in the triblock polymers. When they were self‐assembled at 45°C in a suitable solution, both of their aggregates have spherical shape with slight defects on their surface with the average diameter of about 400 nm. However, when their aggregate dispersion was cooled down to 20°C, only TA‐b‐PHEA‐b‐PNIPAM's morphology changed, forming worm‐like aggregates with the diameter of about 100–200 nm transformed from spherical aggregates. Both amphiphilic property and position of each block in this triblock copolymer are very essential for this morphology transformation. Since the worm‐like aggregates presented here by our group have hollow structure inside, its controlled release properties for doxorubicin were evaluated. Drug release experiment indicated that along with the temperature changes, the rearrangement of the intermediate layer structure caused morphology change in aggregate, thus accelerating the speed of drug release.  相似文献

This article describes the syntheses and solution behavior of model amphiphilic dendritic–linear diblock copolymers that self‐assemble in aqueous solutions into micelles with thermoresponsive shells. The investigated materials are constructed of poly(benzyl ether) monodendrons of the second generation ([G‐2]) or third generation ([G‐3]) and linear poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM). [G‐2]‐PNIPAM and [G‐3]‐PNIPAM dendritic–linear diblock copolymers have been prepared by reversible addition–fragmentation transfer (RAFT) polymerizations of N‐isopropylacrylamide with a [G‐2]‐ or [G‐3]‐based RAFT agent, respectively. The critical micelle concentration (cmc) of [G‐3]‐PNIPAM220, determined by surface tensiometry, is 6.3 × 10?6 g/mL, whereas [G‐2]‐PNIPAM235 has a cmc of 1.0 × 10?5 g/mL. Transmission electron microscopy results indicate the presence of spherical micelles in aqueous solutions. The thermoresponsive conformational changes of PNIPAM chains located at the shell of the dendritic–linear diblock copolymer micelles have been thoroughly investigated with a combination of dynamic and static laser light scattering and excimer fluorescence. The thermoresponsive collapse of the PNIPAM shell is a two‐stage process; the first one occurs gradually in the temperature range of 20–29 °C, which is much lower than the lower critical solution temperature of linear PNIPAM homopolymer, followed by the second process, in which the main collapse of PNIPAM chains takes place in the narrow temperature range of 29–31 °C. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel thermoresponsive double‐hydrophilic fluorinated block copolymers were successfully synthesized by reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. Poly[N‐(2,2‐difluoroethyl)acrylamide] (P2F) was synthesized via RAFT polymerization of N‐(2,2‐difluoroethyl)acrylamide (M2F) using 2‐dodecylsulfanylthiocarbonylsulfanyl‐2‐methylpropionic acid (DMP) as the chain transfer agent (CTA) and 2,2′‐azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator. The resulting P2F macroCTA was further chain extended with N‐(2‐fluoroethyl)acrylamide (M1F) to yield poly{[N‐(2,2‐difluoroethyl)acrylamide]‐b‐[N‐(2‐fluoroethyl)acrylamide]} (P2F‐b‐P1F) block copolymers with different lengths of the P1F block. Molecular weight and molecular weight distribution were determined by gel permeation chromatography. The average molecular weight (Mn) of the resulting polymers ranged from 2.9 × 104 to 5.8 × 104 depending on the length of the P1F block. The molecular weight distribution was low (Mw/Mn = 1.11–1.19). Turbidimetry by UV‐Visble (UV‐Vis) spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, and in situ temperature‐dependent 1H NMR measurements demonstrated that the P2F block underwent a thermal transition from hydrophilic to hydrophobic, which in turn induced self‐assembly from unimers to aggregates. Transmission electron microscopy studies demonstrated that polymeric aggregates formed from an aqueous solution of P2F‐b‐P1F at 60 °C were disrupted by cooling down to 20 °C and regenerated by heating to 60 °C. Temperature‐triggered release of a model hydrophobic drug, coumarin 102, was also demonstrated. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem, 2013  相似文献

We report the first instance of facile synthesis of dumbbell‐shaped dendritic‐linear‐dendritic triblock copolymer, [G‐3]‐PNIPAM‐[G‐3], consisting of third generation poly(benzyl ether) monodendrons ([G‐3]) and linear poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM), via reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The key step was the preparation of novel [G‐3]‐based RAFT agent, [G‐3]‐CH2SCSSCH2‐[G‐3] (1), from third‐generation dendritic poly(benzyl ether) bromide, [G‐3]‐CH2Br. Due to the bulky nature of [G‐3]‐CH2Br, its transformation into trithiocarbonate 1 cannot go to completion, a mixture containing ~80 mol % of 1 and 20 mol % [G‐3]‐CH2Br was obtained. Dumbbell‐shaped [G‐3]‐PNIPAM310‐[G‐3] triblock copolymer was then successfully obtained by the RAFT polymerization of N‐isopropylacylamide (NIPAM) using 1 as the mediating agent, and trace amount of unreacted [G‐3]‐CH2Br was conveniently removed during purification by precipitating the polymer into diethyl ether. The dendritic‐linear‐dendritic triblock structure was further confirmed by aminolysis, and fully characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and 1H‐NMR. The amphiphilic dumbbell‐shaped triblock copolymer contains a thermoresponsive PNIPAM middle block, in aqueous solution it self‐assembles into spherical nanoparticles with the core consisting of hydrophobic [G‐3] dendritic block and stabilized by the PNIPAM central block, forming loops surrounding the insoluble core. The micellar properties of [G‐3]‐PNIPAM310‐[G‐3] were then fully characterized. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 45: 1432–1445, 2007  相似文献

A series of well‐defined triblock copolymers, poly(N, N‐dimethylacrylamide)‐block‐poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(N, N‐dimethylacrylamide) (PDMA‐b‐PEO‐b‐PDMA) synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization, were used as physical coatings for protein separation. A comparative study of EOF showed that the triblock copolymer presented good capillary coating ability and EOF efficient suppression. The effects of the Mr of PDMA block in PDMA‐b‐PEO‐b‐PDMA triblock copolymer and buffer pH on the separation of basic protein for CE were investigated. Moreover, the influence of the copolymer structure on separation of basic protein was studied by comparing the performance of PDMA‐b‐PEO‐b‐PDMA triblock copolymer with PEO‐b‐PDMA diblock copolymer. Furthermore, the triblock copolymer coating showed higher separation efficiency and better migration time repeatability than fused‐silica capillary when used in protein mixture separation and milk powder samples separation, respectively. The results demonstrated that the triblock copolymer coatings would have a wide application in the field of protein separation.  相似文献

Despite the tremendous efforts devoted to the structural analysis of hydrogel microspheres (microgels), many details of their structures remain unclear. Reported in this study is that thermoresponsive poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (pNIPAm)‐based microgels exhibit not only the widely accepted core–shell structures, but also inhomogeneous decanano‐sized non‐thermoresponsive spherical domains within their dense cores, which was revealed by temperature‐controlled high‐speed atomic force microscopy (TC‐HS‐AFM). Based on a series of experiments, it is concluded that the non‐thermoresponsive domains are characteristic for pNIPAm microgels synthesized by precipitation polymerization, and plausible structures for microgels prepared by other polymerization techniques are proposed.  相似文献

Self‐assembled thermo‐ and pH‐responsive poly(acrylic acid)‐b‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PAA‐b‐PNIPAM) micelles for entrapment and release of doxorubicin (DOX) was described. Block copolymer PAA‐b‐PNIPAM associated into core‐shell micelles in aqueous solution with collapsed PNIPAM block or protonated PAA block as the core on changing temperature or pH. Complexation of DOX with PAA‐b‐PNIPAM triggered by the electrostatic interaction and release of DOX from the complexes due to the changing of pH or temperature were studied. Complex micelles incorporated with DOX exhibited pH‐responsive and thermoresponsive drug release profile. The release of DOX from micelles was suppressed at pH 7.2 and accelerated at pH 4.0 due to the protonation of carboxyl groups. Furthermore, the cumulative release of DOX from complex micelles was enhanced around LCST ascribed to the structure deformation of the micelles. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
