Target drug delivery methodology is becoming increasingly important to overcome the shortcomings of conventional drug delivery absorption method. It improves the action time with uniform distribution and poses minimum side effects, but is usually difficult to design to achieve the desire results. Economically favorable, environment friendly, multifunctional, and easy to design, hybrid nanomaterials have demonstrated their enormous potential as target drug delivery vehicles. A combination of both micelles and nanoparticles makes them fine target delivery vehicles in a variety of biological applications where precision is primarily required to achieve the desired results as in the case of cytotoxicity of cancer cells, chemotherapy, and computed tomography guided radiation therapy.  相似文献

Formation of silver nanoparticles has been developed based on a template technique. Amphiphilic star-block copolymers employed as single molecule template, utilizing the coordination of Ag+ ions with carboxyl groups in the core of the star-block copolymer. Silver nanoparticles have been prepared by the addition of chemical reductant, e.g., NaBH4. The solution of the resultant nanosphere composites showed yellow due to the surface plasmon resonance. These composites were soluble in organic solvents, because hydrophobic corona of the star-block copolymer protected the fabricated silver nanoparticles from aggregation.  相似文献

Block copolymers self‐assemble into well‐ordered, microphase separated morphologies having dimensions on the molecular scale. The key to the use of these nanoscopic structures lies in controlling the spatial orientation of the morphology, particularly in thin films. The preferential interactions of the segments of the blocks with interfaces forces an alignment of the morphology parallel to the interface. Here we describe the use of controlled interfacial interactions and electric fields to manipulate the orientation of the morphology and subsequent steps towards the generation of nanoporous templates as scaffolds for nanoscopic structures.  相似文献

Controlled self-assembly of zero-dimensional gold nanoparticles and construction of complex gold nanostructures from these building blocks could significantly extend their applications in many fields. Carbon nanotubes are one of the most promising inorganic templates for this strategy because of their unique physical, chemical, and mechanical properties, which translate into numerous potential applications. Here we report the bottom-up synthesis of gold nanowires in aqueous solution through self-assembly of gold nanoparticles on single-walled carbon nanotubes followed by thermal-heating-induced nanowelding. We investigate the mechanism of this process by exploring different graphitic templates. The experimental work is assisted by computational studies that provide additional insight into the self-assembly and nanowelding mechanism. We also demonstrate the chemical sensitivity of the nanomaterial to parts-per-billion concentrations of hydrogen sulfide with potential applications in industrial safety and personal healthcare.  相似文献

Highly dense arrays of titania nanoparticles were fabricated using surface micellar films of poly(styrene-block-2-vinylpyridine) diblock copolymers (PS-b-P2VP) as reaction scaffolds. Titania could be introduced selectively within P2VP nanodomains in PS-b-P2VP films through the binary reaction between water molecules trapped in the P2VP domains and the TiCl(4) vapor precursors. Subsequent UV exposure or oxygen plasma treatment removed the organic matrix, leading to titania nanoparticle arrays on the substrate surface. The diameter of the titania domains and the interparticle distance were defined by the lateral scale present in the microphase-separated morphology of the initial PS-b-P2VP films. The typical diameter of titania nanoparticles obtained by oxygen plasma treatment was of the order of approximately 23 nm. Photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated for films before and after plasma treatment. Both samples showed PL properties with major physical origin due to self-trapped excitons, indicating that the local environment of the titanium atoms is similar.  相似文献

DNA-mediated gold nanoparticles were prepared by chemical reduction of DNA-Au(III) complex. The DNA-Au(III) was first formed by reacting DNA with HAuCl? at a pH of 5.6. The complex in solution was reacted with hydrazine reducing Au(III) to Au. The reduced Au formed nanodimensional aggregates. The particle distributions were obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). This method resulted in a rather uniform dispersion of Au nanoparticles of near-spherical shape and 45~80 nm in diameter. Gold nanoparticles were embedded and stabilized by DNA.  相似文献

We report the synthesis, characterization, and extraction of Au dendrimer-encapsulated nanoparticles (DENs) prepared in organic solvents. DENs composed of 31 and 55 Au atoms were prepared using organic solvents and poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimer templates modified on their periphery with dodecyl groups. The spectral and microscopic properties of the resulting materials were identical to those prepared using water-soluble PAMAM dendrimers. It was possible to extract the organic-soluble DENs into water using the water-soluble thiols tiopronin and glutathione. The properties of the resulting monolayer-protected clusters were nearly identical to those of the precursor DENs. A mechanistic model for the extraction process is discussed. The synthetic methodology reported here provides a convenient method for preparing DENs of non noble metals such as Ni and Fe.  相似文献

An approach to nanoparticles based upon the thermosensitivity of a copolyether is described. Two thermosensitive copolymers of glycidol with molar masses of 800,000 g/mol randomly substituted with ethyl isocyanate (28 and 35% substitution) were used to obtain mesoglobules. The effects of copolymer concentration and of the presence of surfactants (sodium dodecyl sulfate and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide) on the size of the mesoglobules formed were investigated. The obtained mesoglobules were monomodal and of narrowly distributed diameters, as shown by dynamic light scattering and atomic force microscopy measurements. The radical nucleated copolymerization of N‐isopropylacrylamide with N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide as a crosslinker was performed in the presence of the mesoglobules. Nanoparticles of monomodal size distribution and low dispersity were obtained. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 48: 4074–4083, 2010  相似文献

The paper is focused on the formation and redispersion of monodisperse BaSO4 nanoparticles in polyelectrolyte-modified microemulsions. It is shown that a cationic polyelectrolyte of low molar mass, e.g. poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDADMAC), can be incorporated into the individual inverse microemulsion droplets (L2 phase) consisting of heptanol, water, and an amphoteric surfactant with a sulfobetaine head group. These PDADMAC-filled microemulsion droplets can be successfully used as a template phase for the nanoparticle formation. The monodisperse BaSO4 nanoparticles are produced by a simple mixing procedure and can be redispersed after solvent evaporation without a change in particle dimensions. Dynamic and electrophoretical light scattering in combination with sedimentation experiments in the analytical ultracentrifuge of the redispersed powder show polyelectrolyte-stabilized nanoparticles with diameters of about 6 nm. The polyelectrolyte shows a “size control effect”, which can be explained by the polyelectrolyte–surfactant interactions in relation to the polyelectrolyte–nanoparticle interactions during the particle growth, solvent evaporation and redispersion process. However, the approach used here opens a way to produce different types of polyelectrolyte-stabilized nanoparticles (including rare metals, semiconductors, carbonates or oxides) of very small dimensions.  相似文献

Green organogelators with a sulfide linkage and free amino groups were synthesized via phase transfer catalysis using a N-benzylcinchonidinium bromide catalyst. Their self-assemblies in various common solvents were examined. These compounds exhibit high gelation ability especially in aromatic and highly polar solvents with a low critical gelation of 0.1 wt %. The organogels were analyzed by 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and Fourier transfer-infrared spectroscopies (FT-IR), and their phase transition temperatures were determined by differential scanning calorimetry. The homogeneity of the gel networks was examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A lamellar structure was also confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The organogels were employed as soft-templates for the in situ generation of stable gold nanoparticles dispersed in the gel matrix, and the resulting GNP dispersions were studied by 1H NMR and UV–vis absorption. Transmission electron microscopy showed that GNPs assemble into a thin membrane-like structure.  相似文献

Self-assembled polymeric systems have played an important role as templates for nanofabrication; they offer nanotemplates with different morphologies and tunable sizes, are easily removed after reactions, and could be further modified with different functional groups to enhance the interactions. Among the various self-assembled polymeric systems, block copolymer supramolecular assemblies have received considerable attention because of the inherent processing advantages. These supramolecular assemblies are formed by the non-covalent interactions of one of the blocks of the block copolymer with a low molar-mass additive. Selective extraction of the additive leads to porous membranes or nano-objects which could then be used as templates for nanofabrication leading to a variety of ordered organic/inorganic nanostructures. In this feature article, we present an over-view of the recent developments in this area with a special focus on some examples from our group.  相似文献

Ionic liquid-based stable nanofluids containing gold nanoparticles   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A one-phase and/or two-phase method were used to prepare the stable ionic liquid-based nanofluids containing same volume fraction but different sizes or surface states of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) and their thermal conductivities were investigated in more detail. Five significant experiment parameters, i.e. temperature, dispersion condition, particle size and surface state, and viscosity of base liquid, were evaluated to supply experimental explanations for heat transport mechanisms. The conspicuously temperature-dependent and greatly enhanced thermal conductivity under high temperatures verify that Brownian motion should be one key effect factor in the heat transport processes of ionic liquid-based gold nanofluids. While the positive influences of proper aggregation and the optimized particle size on their thermal conductivity enhancements under some specific conditions demonstrate that clustering may be another critical effect factor in heat transport processes. Moreover, the remarkable difference of the thermal conductivity enhancements of the nanofluids containing Au NPs with different surface states could be attributed to the surface state which has a strong correlation with not only Brownian motion but also clustering. Whilst the close relationship between their thermal conductivity enhancements and the viscosity of base liquid further indicate Brownian motion must occupy the leading position among various influencing factors. Finally, a promisingly synergistic effect of Brownian motion and clustering based on experimental clues and theoretical analyses was first proposed, justifying different mechanisms are sure related. The results may shed lights on comprehensive understanding of heat transport mechanisms in nanofluids.  相似文献

Improved methodology to prepare maleimide-functionalized, water-soluble, small (<3 nm) gold nanoparticles using a retro-Diels-Alder strategy that we developed for similar organic-soluble AuNP's is described. Importantly, our results suggest that a recent paper by Zhu, Waengler, Lennox, and Schirrmacher describing a similar strategy gave results inconsistent with the formation of the titled maleimide-modified AuNP (Zhu, J.; Waengler, C.; Lennox, R. B.; Schirrmacher, R. Langmuir2012, 28, 5508) as the major product, but consistent with the major product being an adduct derived from the hydrolysis of maleimide formed under the conditions used for the required deprotection of the maleimide. Our methodology provides an efficient and accessible route to pure maleimide-modified small AuNP's that circumvents the formation of the hydrolysis product. The maleimide-modified small AuNP's are versatile because they are soluble in water and in a wide range of organic solvents and their reactivity can now be properly exploited as a reactive moiety in Michael addition for bioconjugation studies in aqueous solution.  相似文献

Sample preparation is a crucial step for the reliable and accurate analysis of both small molecule and biopolymers which often involves processes such as isolation, pre‐concentration, removal of interferences (purification), and pre‐processing (e.g., enzymatic digestion) of targets from a complex matrix. Gold nanoparticle (GNP)‐assisted sample preparation and pre‐concentration has been extensively applied in many analytical procedures in recent years due to the favorable and unique properties of GNPs such as size‐controlled synthesis, large surface‐to‐volume ratio, surface inertness, straightforward surface modification, easy separation requiring minimal manipulation of samples. This review article primarily focuses on applications of GNPs in sample preparation, in particular for bioaffinity capture and biocatalysis. In addition, their most common synthesis, surface modification and characterization methods are briefly summarized. Proper surface modification for GNPs designed in accordance to their target application directly influence their functionalities, e.g., extraction efficiencies, and catalytic efficiencies. Characterization of GNPs after synthesis and modification is worthwhile for monitoring and controlling the fabrication process to ensure proper quality and functionality. Parameters such as morphology, colloidal stability, and physical/chemical properties can be assessed by methods such as surface plasmon resonance, dynamic light scattering, ζ‐potential determinations, transmission electron microscopy, Taylor dispersion analysis, and resonant mass measurement, among others. The accurate determination of the surface coverage appears to be also mandatory for the quality control of functionality of the nanoparticles. Some promising applications of (functionalized) GNPs for bioanalysis and sample preparation are described herein.  相似文献

Condensation reaction of several ketones with pyrrole in the presence of ferric hydrogen sulfate as a green homogenous acidic catalyst furnished the corresponding pure dipyrromethanes in good yields. Gold nanoparticles were produced through reduction of HAuCl4 with substituted dipyrromethanes as new reducing agents at room temperature with the exclusion of any capping agent or surfactant. Gold nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, XRD and UV–visible absorption spectroscopic measurements. It is proposed that in situ formed oxidative products of dipyrromethane, such as polydipyrromethane could serve effectively as a capping agent to preferably adsorb the {111} facets of gold crystals during the reduction process, which leads to the formation of gold nanoparticles.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles by using the mixture of polystyrene-block-poly(2-vinyl pyridine)/poly(2-vinyl pyridine)-block-poly(ethylene oxide) (PS-b-P2VP/P2VP-b-PEO) block copolymers as encapsulating agent was prepared. The prepared nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy and contact angle. It is demonstrated that the obtained gold nanoparticles are covered with mixed block copolymer shells. The hydrophilic property of the nanoparticles can be varied by the change of the dispersion medium. The obtained gold nanoparticles with mixed block copolymer shells are stable in organic solvents (such as tetrahydrofuran and toluene) and water.  相似文献
