This paper is concerned with the inverse problem of scattering of time-harmonic acoustic waves by an inhomogeneous penetrable obstacle in a piecewise homogeneous medium. The well-posedness of the direct problem is first established by using the integral equation method. We then proceed to establish two tools that play important roles for the inverse problem: one is a mixed reciprocity relation and the other is a priori estimates of the solution on some part of the interfaces between the layered media. For the inverse problem, we prove in this paper that both the penetrable interfaces and the possible inside inhomogeneity can be uniquely determined from a knowledge of the far field pattern for incident plane waves.  相似文献

The inverse problem considered in this paper is to determine the shape and the impedance of an obstacle from a knowledge of the time-harmonic incident field and the phase and amplitude of the far field pattern of the scattered wave in two-dimension. Single-layer potential is used to approach the scattered waves. An approximation method is presented and the convergence of the proposed method is established. We introduce an adaptive finite element method for computing electromagnetic guided waves in a closed, inhomogeneous, pillared three-dimensional waveguide at a given frequency based on the inverse iteration method. The problem is formulated as a generalized eigenvalue problems. By modifying the exact inverse iteration algorithm for the eigenvalue problem, we design a new adaptive inverse iteration finite element algorithm. Adaptive finite element methods based on a posteriori error estimate are known to be successful in resolving singularities of eigenfunctions which deteriorate the finite element convergence. We construct a posteriori error estimator for the electromagnetic guided waves problem. Numerical results are reported to illustrate the quasi-optimal performance of our adaptive inverse iteration finite element method.  相似文献

A regularized recursive linearization method is developed for a two-dimensional in-verse medium scattering problem that arises in near-field optics, which reconstructs the scatterer of an inhomogeneous medium deposited on a homogeneous substrate from data accessible through photon scanning tunneling microscopy experiments. In addition to the ill-posedness of the inverse scattering problems, two difficulties arise from the layered back-ground medium and limited aperture data. Based on multiple frequency scattering data, the method starts from the Born approximation corresponding to the weak scattering at a low frequency, each update is obtained via recursive linearization with respect to the wavenumber by solving one forward problem and one adjoint problem of the Helmholtz equation. Numerical experiments are included to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider an inverse problem of determining the corrosion occurring in an inaccessible interior part of a pipe from the measurements on the outer boundary. The problem is modelled by Laplace's equation with an unknowm term γ in the boundary condition on the inner boundary. Based on the Maz'ya iterative algorithm, a regularized BEM method is proposed for obtaining approximate solutions for this inverse problem. In this paper, we discuss an inverse eigenvalue problem for constructing a 2n × 2n Jacobi matrix T such that its 2n eigenvalues are given distinct real values and its leading principal submatrix of order n is a given Jacobi matrix. In this paper,nonreflecting artificial boundary,conditions are considered for an acoustic problem in three dimensions.With the technique of Fourier dexompostition under the orthogonal basis of spherical harmonics,three kinds of equivalemt exact artificial boundary conditions are obtained on a spherical artificail boundary.A numerical test is presented to show the performance of the method.  相似文献
