A palladium catalyzed C-H bond functionalization system that operates under ambient and aerobic conditions can be used to alkenylate pyrroles with control of regioselectivty. A steric and electronic control strategy can be used to influence positional control in the C-H bond functionalization process that results in either the C2 or C3 alkenylated products. Air, molecular oxygen, or tBuOOBz can be used as reoxidant in this mild process, and the reaction works on a range of substrates. Finally a catalytic aerobic annulation strategy is described that can be controlled to produce cyclization at either the C2 or C3 positions, thus forming diverse pyrrole products.  相似文献

The ene reaction of sulfur dioxide with enoxysilanes or with allylsilanes generates silyl sulfinates that can be brominated (Br(2) or NBS) or chlorinated (NCS or Cl(2)) to produce the corresponding sulfonyl halides. They react with primary and secondary amines or alcohols to give the corresponding sulfonamides and sulfonic esters, respectively. The hetero-Diels-Alder addition of sulfur dioxide to 1-oxy- or 1,3-dioxy-1,3-dienes generates zwitterions that add to enoxysilanes or allylsilanes giving silyl sulfinates that can be converted in situ into polyfunctional sulfonamides or sulfonic esters. This realizes quick access to libraries of complicated sulfonamides and sulfonic esters applying one-pot, three- and four-component methods.  相似文献

Ionoluminescence (IL) has mainly been used to detect impurities or defects inside synthetic materials. This paper gives a summary of new applications of IL to natural minerals that might be found in ancient pieces of jewellery or decorative artefacts (affreschi, stucchi, mosaics). Some relevant examples of its use for archaeometrical purposes are given to highlight the potential of the technique. Chemical information can be obtained by luminescent characterization of minerals. IL spectra act as digital imprint for elements or defects inside each material, enabling differentiation of natural specimens from imitations and/or synthetic analogues. Crystal field theory indicates it is the coordination number of the emitter inside the crystalline structure that gives information on its valence. Historical confusion between rubies and red spinel can easily be resolved by analysis of IL spectra. Modern synthetic diamonds can also be discriminated and blue sapphire can be distinguished from blue kyanite, a silicate that is currently being sold as its imitation. The technique can also differentiate between the synthetic and the natural gems. Polymorphs can be identified, and it is possible to recognize minerals from isomorphic series (from the same chemical group with the same structure) even when they share the same light emitter (e.g. Mn2+, in carbonates). High-quality glasses (e.g. laser glasses) which are normally used for faking gemstones can be also detected. We fully believe IL will, in the future, be a powerful technique for determining the crystallinity of solids. This paper gives an overview of possible applications of IL to archaeometry for mineral characterization; this is a new application that still requires further study.  相似文献

Monochrome astronomy filters are well suited for use as excitation or suppression filters in fluorescence microscopy. Because of their particular optical design, such filters can be combined with standard halogen light sources for excitation in many fluorescent probes. In this "low energy excitation," photobleaching (fading) or other irritations of native specimens are avoided. Photomicrographs can be taken from living motile fluorescent specimens also with a flash so that fluorescence images can be created free from indistinctness caused by movement. Special filter cubes or dichroic mirrors are not needed for our method. By use of suitable astronomy filters, fluorescence microscopy can be carried out with standard laboratory microscopes equipped with condensers for bright-field (BF) and dark-field (DF) illumination in transmitted light. In BF excitation, the background brightness can be modulated in tiny steps up to dark or black. Moreover, standard industry microscopes fitted with a vertical illuminator for examinations of opaque probes in DF or BF illumination based on incident light (wafer inspections, for instance) can also be used for excitation in epi-illumination when adequate astronomy filters are inserted as excitatory and suppression filters in the illuminating and imaging light path. In all variants, transmission bands can be modulated by transmission shift.  相似文献

Neopeltolide, a potent cytotoxin from a Carribean sponge, was synthesized through a brief sequence that highlights the use of ethers as oxocarbenium ion precursors. Other key steps include an acid-mediated etherification and sequence that features a Sonogashira reaction, an intramolecular alkyne hydrosilylation reaction, and a Tamao oxidation. The alkene that is required for the oxidative cyclization can be hydrogenated to provide access to the natural product or an epimer, or can be epoxidized or dihydroxylated to form polar analogs.  相似文献

The regrowth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in a second growth stage after a first growth stage has been completely stopped has been found to be strongly related to the carbon capping present on their catalyst particles. It is shown that the undesirable carbon capping can be prevented from forming or removed and the nanotube growth can be rejuvenated by either control of plasma processing conditions during chemical vapor deposition or by inserting a room-temperature sputter etching process. The ability to cause sequential growth stages to take place in different directions makes it possible for us to clearly compare the occurrence and extent of CNT regrowth. Such a CNT regrowth process and understanding of controlling parameters can enable the creation of new nanowire configurations that could potentially be used for applications such as sharply bending nanointerconnections, nanosprings, bent AFM nanoprobes, or nanobarcodes.  相似文献

Functionalization, namely the introduction of side groups onto the molecular scaffold of a helicene, may have either the purpose of modifying the electronic properties of the parent helicene, e.g., by adding electron-withdrawing or electron-donating groups, or the scope of providing the helicene with a “handle”, which can be reacted to bind the molecule to another molecule or to a solid structure, such as a carbon or metal surface, or again to allow for complexation of the helicene with metal ions. The possible approaches are two-fold: the synthesis of the helicene can be performed using starting materials that already contain a side group, or the side group can be introduced after the synthesis of the parent helicene. As azahelicenes are helicenes bearing one or more nitrogen atom(s) in the molecular framework, parent azahelicenes can be functionalized on carbon atoms by exploiting the presence of the electron-withdrawing nitrogen atom. Moreover, they can be transformed into quaternary salts, whose properties are quite different from those of the parent azahelicenes in terms of the solubility and electronic properties. This review aims to provide a survey of the different synthetic methods available to attain this fascinating class of compounds.  相似文献

For efficirent gene transfer, DNA has to be associated with a carrier which can be either of biological (i.e. recombinant viruses) or synthetic origin. In the domain of polymeric synthetic vectors two general types can be envisaged, namely positive polyelectrolytes or neutral amphiphilic block copolymers. Both types can be synthesized by ring-opening cationic polymerization. Several examples show that the versatility of this polymerization technique can be used for the design of structures which after transfection studies, either in vitro or in vivo, can allow conclusions on the most important parameters which govern transfection efficacy. The present study allowed to conclude on the importance of physico-chemical characteristics of these vectors, i.e. the linear macrostructure for the positive polyelectrolytes, and the amphiphilic nature for the neutral block copolymers.  相似文献

Biomimetic colloidal particles are promising agents for biosensing, but current technologies fall far short of Nature's capabilities for sensing, assessing, and responding to stimuli. Phospholipid-containing cell membranes are capable of binding and responding to an enormous variety of biomolecules by virtue of membrane organization and the presence of receptor proteins. By tuning the composition and functionalization of simulated membranes, soft colloids such as droplets and bubbles can be designed to respond to various stimuli. Moreover, because lipid monolayers can surround almost any hydrophobic phase, the interior of the colloid can be selected to provide a sensitive readout, for example in the form of optical microscopy or acoustic detection. In this work, we review some advances made by our group and others in the formulation of lipid-coated particles with different internal phases such as fluorocarbons, hydrocarbons, or liquid crystals. In some cases, binding or displacement of stabilizing lipids gives rise to conformational changes or disruptions in local membrane geometry, which can be amplified by the interior phase. In other cases, multivalent analytes can promote aggregation or even membrane fusion, which can be utilized for an optical or acoustic readout. By highlighting a few recent examples, we hope to show that lipid monolayers represent a versatile biosensing platform that can react to and detect biomolecules by leveraging the unique capabilities of phospholipid membranes.  相似文献

It is surprising to see how eukaryotic chromosomes or sperm nuclei are highly condensed chromatin materials and how they can sometimes present spectacular helical morphologies. We may suspect that these helical shapes originate from the chiral properties of DNA and other components of chromatin. Dense solutions of DNA and nucleosomes can be prepared in vitro to reproduce some of the characteristics of chromatin. They form multiple ordered phases, either mesophases or 3D crystals, that can be useful to analyze precisely how chiral structures can emerge, or not, from interactions between these constitutive elements. We address the question of the competition between twist and hexagonal packing in dense states of DNA, nucleosomes, chromatin and chromosomes. From the microscopic analysis of many examples, we show how the twist arising from the chirality of the objects can be diluted in the phase and/or expelled along twist walls. These walls are either parallel or normal to the direction of the columns. In the first case, we determine that the twist axis lies parallel to one θ2 direction of the hexagonal network. Helical shapes of chromosomes and bundles of DNA and chromatin may also be consequences of this competition, as illustrated here.  相似文献

Although nuclear magnetic resonance may not seem the technique of choice to study interfaces between components in a polymer composite or polymer blend because of its inherent low sensitivity, for certain systems solid state NMR techniques can emphasize the signals from these interfaces. In case of a composite material with an inorganic filler (particles, fibers) cross-polarization or dipolar dephasing techniques from protons in the organic matrix or in the interphase to nuclei in the filler can be used to selectively observe the nuclei in the surface of the filler. Any changes at the filler surface caused by the presence of the matrix or coupling agent can then be detected. An example of glass reinforced nylon modelcomposites is discussed. The same techniques can also be used to study interphases in polymer blends when one of the components contains a NMR nucleus that is not present in the other component. As an example the blend poly(vinylidene fluoride)-poly(methyl methacrylate) is studied and it is shown that such techniques can provide very detailed information about the miscibility at a molecular scale.  相似文献

Wastewaters from numerous industrial and laboratory operations can contain toxic or undesirable components such as metal ions, which must be removed before discharge to surface waters. Adsorption processes that have high removal efficiencies are attractive methods for removing such contaminants. For economic operations, it is desirable to have an adsorbent that is selective for the metal contaminant of interest, has high capacity for the contaminant, has rapid adsorption kinetics, can be economically produced, and can be regenerated to a concentrated waste product or decomposed to a low-volume waste. Selected microorganisms are potentially useful adsorbents for these applications because they can be inexpensive, have high selectivities, and have high capacities for adsorption of many heavy metals, which are often problems in a variety of industries.  相似文献

The generalized master equation or the equivalent continuous time random walk equations can be used to compute the macroscopic first passage time distribution (FPTD) of a complex stochastic system from short-term microscopic simulation data. The computation of the mean first passage time and additional low-order FPTD moments can be simplified by directly relating the FPTD moment generating function to the moments of the local FPTD matrix. This relationship can be physically interpreted in terms of steady-state relaxation, an extension of steady-state flow. Moreover, it is amenable to a statistical error analysis that can be used to significantly increase computational efficiency. The efficiency improvement can be extended to the FPTD itself by modelling it using a gamma distribution or rational function approximation to its Laplace transform.  相似文献

采用TPD-MS方法研究了H2及NO在γ-Mo2N上的吸附状况.单独的H2-TPD结果表明,当H2在673K吸附时,在443K、573K及723K得到了三个H2脱附峰,表明γ-Mo2N上有三种不同能量的H2吸附位.NO-TPD结果表明,NO吸附后亦有三个脱附峰(383K、493K、543K),对应着γ-Mo2N上三种不同能量的NO吸附位:低、中、高能吸附位.NO既可以以解离状态,又可以以一种NO三聚态(dimerordinitrosyl)的形式吸附在γ-Mo2N上,这些吸附物种在脱附过程中产生大量的N2及少量的N2O.对比NO吸附在不同处理条件的γ-Mo2N上的TPD结果可知,NO是吸附在γ-Mo2N上的MO的配位不饱和中心上,这些吸附中心既可通过还原催化剂,又可通过在773K抽空钝化态的γ-Mo2N而产生,H2和NO共吸附的结果表明,预吸附H2再吸附NO后,H2和NO的脱附量均大大减少,且只有两个脱附峰出现.NO只在363K及493K出现两个脱附峰,表明预吸附氢占据了NO的强吸附位,且NO很难取代它,从而使NO只能吸附在能量较低的吸附位上;而H2只在523K及723K出现两个脱附峰,且伴随着H2的脱出有N2和H2O的产生,表明在γ-Mo2N上NO可能与预吸附氢形成了一种复合相MoHx(NO)y,它在脱附时分解为H2、N2及H2O.  相似文献

Although colloidal nanoparticles show an electrophoretic heterogeneity under the conditions of capillary electrophoresis, which can be either due to the particle-size distribution and/or the particle shape distribution and/or the zeta-potential distribution, they can form correct isotachophoretic zones with sharp-moving boundaries. Therefore, the technique of isotachophoresis permits to generate plugs in which the co-ions and counter ions of the original colloidal solution are removed and replaced by the buffering counter ions of the leading electrolyte. It is shown that analytical isotachophoresis can be used to measure directly, without calibration, the molar (particle) concentration of dispersed ionic colloids provided that the transference number and the mean effective charge number of the particles (within the isotachophoretic zone) can be determined with adequate accuracy. The method can also be used to measure directly the effective charge number of biomacromolecules or colloidal particles, if solutions with known molar (particle) concentration can be prepared. The validity of the approach was confirmed for a model solution containing a known molar concentration of bovine serum albumin.   相似文献

The embedding in sol-gel coatings can improve the fastness properties of dyes on textiles. The aim of this study is to investigate, whether it is necessary to apply dye and sol together in one step or the application of dye and sol can be performed in separate steps. For practical applications, it can be of high interest to apply sol and dye separately, because by this the fastness properties of once coloured textiles can be improved by sol-gel coatings or an uncolored sol-gel treated fabric can be dyed afterwards with higher fastness properties. For this, modified silica sols and dye molecules were applied in combination on textiles. The investigations were performed with the two triphenylmethane dyes Malachite Green and Guinea Green. These dyes were applied using four different methods – without sol, applied before or after sol treatment and together with the sol. The silica sols were applied in different concentration. It was demonstrated that the application together with the silica sol or the aftertreatment of dyed textile with silica sol lead to significant improvement of leaching fastness. Also the low bleaching fastness of the triphenylmethane dyes can be enhanced significantly.  相似文献

A novel class of glycopeptidolipids is described, which potentially can be used as a novel antigen-delivery system. The compounds have been prepared by a combination of solid-supported and solution-based methods. The use of the orthogonally protected FmocLysDde derivative provided an opportunity to incorporate two different types lipids. It was found that the model compound 1 forms aggregates in aqueous media which can be described as rod or tubelike structures. The aggregates can be stabilized by topotactic photopolymerization. Studies on the structural analogues 2-5 revealed the effect of the carbohydrate, peptide, and lipid moiety on the aggregation properties. It is concluded that none of the structure elements can lay claim to be exclusively important for the formation of highly organized aggregates such as tubes, fibers, or helical ribbons from 1, but the presence of all of these structural elements afforded the most uniformly shaped extended structures.  相似文献

Biomolecules such as serum proteins can interact with drugs in the body and influence their pharmaceutical effects. Specific and precise methods that analyze these interactions are critical for drug development or monitoring and for diagnostic purposes. Affinity capillary electrophoresis (ACE) is one technique that can be used to examine the binding between drugs and serum proteins, or other agents found in serum or blood. This article will review the basic principles of ACE, along with related affinity-based capillary electrophoresis (CE) methods, and examine recent developments that have occurred in this field as related to the characterization of drug–protein interactions. An overview will be given of the various formats that can be used in ACE and CE for such work, including the relative advantages or weaknesses of each approach. Various applications of ACE and affinity-based CE methods for the analysis of drug interactions with serum proteins and other binding agents will also be presented. Applications of ACE and related techniques that will be discussed include drug interaction studies with serum agents, chiral drug separations employing serum proteins, and the use of CE in hybrid methods to characterize drug binding with serum proteins.  相似文献
