We study a necessary condition for the integrability of the polynomials vector fields in the plane by means of the differential Galois Theory. More concretely, by means of the variational equations around a particular solution it is obtained a necessary condition for the existence of a rational first integral. The method is systematic starting with the first order variational equation. We illustrate this result with several families of examples. A key point is to check whether a suitable primitive is elementary or not. Using a theorem by Liouville, the problem is equivalent to the existence of a rational solution of a certain first order linear equation, the Risch equation. This is a classical problem studied by Risch in 1969, and the solution is given by the “Risch algorithm”. In this way we point out the connection of the non integrability with some higher transcendent functions, like the error function. 相似文献

We revisit the problem of integrability in the consumer theory, focusing on the main difficulties. First, we look for a neat and simple local existence result, and then for a global solution. Second, observing that a utility function (or indirect utility function) cannot be determined uniquely, we propose a means to get a kind of uniqueness result. Our approach is coordinate-free and can be used both in the classical case of a finite-dimensional commodity space and in the case an infinite-dimensional model is adopted. 相似文献

This paper presents two existence results for Urysohn integral inclusions in Banach spaces, the set-valued integral involved being the Henstock integral. In particular, the existence of continuous solutions for integral inclusions of Volterra and of Hammerstein type is obtained. Our results extend the existence theorems given in literature in the single- or set-valued case, under Bochner or Pettis integrability hypothesis. We prove existence of solutions to the two-dimensional Euler equations with vorticity bounded and with velocity locally bounded but growing at infinity at a rate slower than a power of the logarithmic function. We place no integrability conditions on the initial vorticity. This result improves upon a result of Serfati which gives existence of a solution to the two-dimensional Euler equations with bounded velocity and vorticity. 相似文献

In this paper, we construct a new integrable equation called Mbius-Toda equation which is a generalization of q-Toda equation. Meanwhile its soliton solutions are constructed to show its integrable property. Further the Lax pairs of the Mbius-Toda equation and a whole integrable Mbius-Toda hierarchy are also constructed. To show the integrability, the bi-Hamiltonian structure and tau symmetry of the Mbius-Toda hierarchy are given and this leads to the existence of the tau function. 相似文献
