We generalise the Dixmier-Douady classification of continuous-trace C?-algebras to Fell algebras. To do so, we show that C?-diagonals in Fell algebras are precisely abelian subalgebras with the extension property, and use this to prove that every Fell algebra is Morita equivalent to one containing a diagonal subalgebra. We then use the machinery of twisted groupoid C?-algebras and equivariant sheaf cohomology to define an analogue of the Dixmier-Douady invariant for Fell algebras, and to prove our classification theorem.  相似文献

We characterize orbifolds in terms of their sheaves, and show that orbifolds correspond exactly to a specific class of smooth groupoids. As an application, we construct fibered products of orbifolds and prove a change-of-base formula for sheaf cohomology.  相似文献

For a space X carrying a foliation , the authors study the cohomology of the complex of differential forms which are smooth along the leaves and transversally locally L . It is shown that, if the leaves are nonpositively curved manifolds of rank at least r in a suitable uniform sense and the fundamental groupoid of the foliation is amenable, then the cohomology vanishes in degrees above r. This result is inspired by some of Gromov's results on bounded cohomology.  相似文献

In this paper are defined cohomology-like groups that classify loop extensions satisfying a given identity in three variables for association identities and in two variables for the case of commutativity. It is considered a large amount of identities. These groups generalize those defined in Nishigori [3 Nishigori, N. (1963). On loop extensions of groups and M-cohomology groups I. J. Sci. In this paper we compute the integral cohomology of certain semi-direct products of the form , arising from a linear action on the -torus, where is a finite group. The main application is the complete calculation of torsion gerbes for six-dimensional examples arising in string theory.

Graded-division algebras are building blocks in the theory of finite-dimensional associative algebras graded by a group G. If G is abelian, they can be described, using a loop construction, in terms of central simple graded-division algebras.On the other hand, given a finite abelian group G, any central simple G-graded-division algebra over a field F is determined, thanks to a result of Picco and Platzeck, by its class in the (ordinary) Brauer group of F and the isomorphism class of a G-Galois extension of F.This connection is used to classify the simple G-Galois extensions of F in terms of a Galois field extension L/F with Galois group isomorphic to a quotient G/K and an element in the quotient Z2(K,L×)/B2(K,F×) subject to certain conditions. Non-simple G-Galois extensions are induced from simple T-Galois extensions for a subgroup T of G. We also classify finite-dimensional G-graded-division algebras and, as an application, finite G-graded-division rings.  相似文献

In this paper,some properties of reduction for symplectic F-spaces are discussed.The properties of stable subgroups are discussed.We find that the symplectic action of a symplectic groupoid on a symplectic manifold can induce a symplectic map between reduced symplectic manifolds.This symplectic action can be characterized by the action of its induced symplectic groupoid on a symplectic manifold.Lastly,we shall discuss Poisson reduction and give a Poisson reduction theorem.  相似文献

We consider an inclusion BM of finite von Neumann algebras satisfying BMB. A partial isometry vM is called a groupoid normalizer if vBv,vBvB. Given two such inclusions BiMi, i=1,2, we find approximations to the groupoid normalizers of in , from which we deduce that the von Neumann algebra generated by the groupoid normalizers of the tensor product is equal to the tensor product of the von Neumann algebras generated by the groupoid normalizers. Examples are given to show that this can fail without the hypothesis , i=1,2. We also prove a parallel result where the groupoid normalizers are replaced by the intertwiners, those partial isometries vM satisfying vBvB and vv,vvB.  相似文献
