In this paper we study Noetherian -semirings and obtain Cohens theorem for a special class of -semirings. Weak primary decomposition theorem for a particular type of -semirings is also obtained.Presently Lecturer in Mathematics, University of Burdwan, GOLAPBAG, W.B. INDIA.  相似文献

The problem under consideration is the -minimax estimation, under L2loss, of a multivariate normal mean when the covariance matrix is known. The family of priors is induced by mixing zero mean multivariate normals with covariance matrix I by nonnegative random variables , whose distributions belong to a suitable family G. For a fixed family G, the linear (affine) -minimax rule is compared with the usual -minimax rule in terms of corresponding -minimax risks. It is shown that the linear rule is "good", i.e., the ratio of the risks is close to 1, irrespective of the dimension of the model. We also generalize the above model to the case of nonidentity covariance matrices and show that independence of the dimensionality is lost in this case. Several examples illustrate the behavior of the linear -minimax rule.  相似文献

If is a group, then the category of -graded categorical groups is equivalent to the category of categorical groups supplied with a coherent left-action from . In this paper we use this equivalence and the homotopy classification of graded categorical groups and their homomorphisms to develop a theory of extensions of categorical groups when a fixed group of operators is acting. For this kind of extensions we show a suitable Schreiers theory and a precise theorem of classification, including obstruction theory, which generalizes both known results when the group of operators is trivial (categorical group extensions theory) or when the involved categorical groups are discrete (equivariant group extensions theory).Mathematics Subject Classifications (2000) 18D10, 18B40, 20J05, 20J06.Partially supported by MTM2004-01060.  相似文献

There are described the subgroups of the general symplectic group =GSp(2n, R) over a commutative semilocal ring R, containing the group of symplectic diagonal matrices. For each such subgroup P there is uniquely defined a symplectic D-net a such that ()pN(), where () is the net subgroup in corresponding to (cf. RZhMat, 1977, 5A288), and N() is its normalizer. The quotient group N × ()/() is calculated. There are also considered subgroups in Sp(2n, R). Analogous results for subgroups of the general linear group were obtained earlier in RZhMat, 1978, 9A237.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. In this paper we introduce the notion of operator semirings of a -semiring to study -semirings. It is shown that the lattices of all left (right) ideals (two-sided ideals) of a -semiring and its right (respectively left) operator semiring are isomorphic. This has many applications to characterize various -semirings.AMS Subject Classification (2000): 16Y60, 16Y99  相似文献

We construct a rank five residually connected and firm geometry on which the Mathieu group M 12 acts flag-transitively and residually weakly primitively (RWPRI). The group M 12 is the group of automorphisms of and Aut(M 12) is the correlation group of , in particular is self-dual. The diagram of is the following. Moreover satisfies the conditions (IP)2 and (2T)1. As a corollary, we obtain that the (RWPRI+(IP)2)-rank of M 12 is 5.  相似文献

From a finite oriented graph , finite-dimensional graded nilpotent Lie rings () and () are naturally constructed; these rings are related to subtrees and connected subgraphs of , respectively. Diverse versions of these constructions are also suggested. Moreover, an embedding of Lie rings of the form () in the adjoint Lie rings of finite-dimensional associative rings (also determined by the graph ) is indicated.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, vol. 77, no. 3, 2005, pp. 449–459.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2005 by Yu. In this work, the continuously controlled assembly map in algebraic K-theory, as developed by Carlsson and Pedersen, is proved to be a split injection for groups that satisfy certain geometric conditions. The group is allowed to have torsion, generalizing a result of Carlsson and Pedersen. Combining this with a result of John Moody, K0(k) is proved to be isomorphic to the colimit of K0(kH) over the finite subgroups H of , when is a virtually polycyclic group and k is a field of characteristic zero.  相似文献

Let be an infinite cardinal. In this paper we define an interpolation rule IR() for lattice ordered groups. We denote by C() the class of all lattice ordered groups satisfying IR(), and prove that C() is a radical class.  相似文献

In the mid-1980s an equivalence was established between the simple closed geodesics on the Riemann surfaces obtained as quotients of the upper half plane H by any of the following subgroups of the modular group (1) : , (3), and 3. An axis of a hyperbolic element of (1) projects to a simple closed geodesic on one of these surfaces if and only if it does so on the other two. This equivalence was used to obtain a variety of Diophantine and geometric results. In subsequent related investigations, the role of (1) was assumed by the Hecke triangle group Gq for q 3. (For q = 3, we have (1) = G3.) These works employed the analog of 3, denoted q.In the context of the Gq, the present paper gives the analog of , which we denote q. As in the case q = 3, we have [q:q] = 2. A rather full discussion of geometry of q\ H is given. In particular, we demonstrate that the equivalence of simple closed geodesics on q\ H and q\ H does not hold for q 7.As of this writing, we have not been able to obtain an appropriate analog of (3).  相似文献

This paper gives a proof of a conjecture of W.-C. Hsiang for the negativeK-theory of integral grouprings , when the group is a subgroup of a uniform lattice in a Lie group. The authors' earlier paper reduced this result to the very special cases where either is finite or is virtually infinite cyclic. The finite case was done much earlier by Carter extending results of Bass and Murthy. The major work of the present paper consists of proving the conjecture when is virtually infinite cyclic. Both authors were supported in part by the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

Summary Let be a closed, cocompact subgroup of a simply connected, solvable Lie groupG, such that Ad G has the same Zariski closure as AdG. If : GL n () is any finite-dimensional representation of , we show that virtually extends to a representation ofG. (By combining this with work of Margulis on lattices in semisimple groups, we obtain a similar result for lattices in many groups that are neither solvable nor semisimple.) Furthermore, we show that if is isomorphic to a closed, cocompact subgroup of another simply connected, solvable Lie groupG, then any isomorphism from to extends to a crossed isomorphism fromG toG. In the same vein, we prove a more concrete form of Mostow's theorem that compact solvmanifolds with isomorphic fundamental groups are diffeomorphic.Oblatum 5-VII-1994 & 15-IV-1995  相似文献

Let G be a transitive permutation group on a set and m a positive integer. If | – | m for every subset of and all g G, then || 2mp/(p – 1) where p is the least odd prime dividing |G|. It was shown by Mann and Praeger [13] that, for p = 3, the 3-groups G which attain this bound have exponent p. In this paper we will show a generalization of this result for any odd primes.AMS Subject Classification (2000), 20BXX  相似文献

In the space Lp(), 1 < p < we consider the problem of finding functions and which are analytic, respectively, in a doubly connected domain with boundary and a simply connected domain with boundary ( and are closed Lyapunov contours) with respect to the boundary condition , where the orientation-preserving translation and the coefficients a, b, c, d admit discontinuities at certain points of . Under specific conditions on the limit values of the derivative of the translation at the points of discontinuity we get necessary and sufficient conditions for the problem to be Noetherian and a formula for calculating its index.Translated from Ukrainskii Matematicheskii Zhurnal, Vol. 42, No. 2, pp. 262–266, February, 1990.  相似文献

Let be the set of all primes, the field of all algebraic numbers, and Z the set of square-free natural numbers. We consider partially ordered sets of interpretability types such as , and , where AD is a variety of -divisible Abelian groups with unique taking of the pth root p(x) for every p , is a variety of -modules over a normal field , contained in , and Gn is a variety of n-groupoids defined by a cyclic permutation (12 ...n). We prove that , and are distributive lattices, with and where ub and ubf are lattices (w.r.t. inclusion) of all subsets of the set and of finite subsets of , respectively.Deceased.__________Translated from Algebra i Logika, Vol. 44, No. 2, pp. 198–210, March–April, 2005.  相似文献

TheK-theory of the group algebra [] for a countable, discrete group is defined in terms of the simplicial ring of smooth simplices on [], where [] is given the fine topology with respect to its finite-dimensional, linear subspaces. The assembly map for this theory :K * B K * [] is studied and shown to be a rational injection. The proof uses the Connes-Karoubi Chern character fromK-theory of Banach algebras to cyclic homology, here generalized to any fine topological algebra, and proved to be multiplicative.  相似文献

Summary In this article we develop a method of deriving asymptotic formulae for the orbital counting function for the action of certain discrete groups of isometries of simply connected negatively curved manifolds. We consider the particular case of normal subgroups 0 of a co-compact group 0 for which the quotient 0/ k . Even in the special case of manifolds ofconstant negative curvature, this leads to new results. In particular, we have asymptotic estimates for some groups which arenot geometrically finite.Oblatum III-1993 & 18-VIII-1993The first author was supported by The Royal Society through a University Research Fellowship.
