The quantum-statistical generalization of the well-known classical, linear revised Enskog equation is derived for spatially uniform systems. This new quantum kinetic equation allows the study of equilibrium time correlation functions and their associated transport coefficients of normal quantum fluids where static correlations and degeneracy effects due to particle statistics (both are treated exactly) are important. Furthermore, we derive the quantum-statistical analog of the classical ring operator. These microscopic and systematic derivations are based on a recently developed superoperator formalism (including cluster expansion techniques) that, as a main feature, allows a clear distinction between static and dynamic correlations, which is crucial in the discussion of the Enskog approximation.  相似文献

Binary correlations are a recognized part of the pair density operator, but the influence of binary correlations on the singlet density operator is usually not emphasized. Here free motion and binary correlations are taken as independent building blocks for the structure of the nonequilibrium singlet and pair density operators. Binary correlations are assumed to arise from the collision of twofree particles. Together with the first BBGKY equation and a retention of all terms that are second order in gas density, a generalization of the Boltzmann equation is obtained. This is an equation for thefree particle density operator rather than for the (full) singlet density operator. The form for the pressure tensor calculated from this equation reduces at equilibrium to give the correct (Beth-Uhlenbeck) second virial coefficient, in contrast to a previous quantum Boltzmann equation, which gave only part of the quantum second virial coefficient. Generalizations to include higher-order correlations and collision types are indicated.

It is shown that the method proposed in V. F. Los [J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 34: 638–6403 (2001)], which allows for turning the inhomogeneous time-convolution generalized master equation (TC-GME) into homogeneous (while retaining initial correlations) time-convolution generalized master equation (TC-HGME) for the relevant part of a distribution function, is fully applicable to the quantum case and to the time-convolutionless GME (TCL-GME). It is demonstrated by rederiving the TC-HGME and showing that it works in both the classical and quantum physics cases. The time-convolutionless HGME (TCL-HGME) retaining initial correlations, which is formally the same for both the classical and quantum physics, has also been derived. Both the TC-HGME and TCL-HGME are exact equations applicable on any timescale and allow for consecutive treating the initial correlations and collisions on the equal footing. A new equation for a momentum distribution function retaining initial correlations has been obtained in the linear in the density of quantum particles approximation. Connection of this equation to the quantum Boltzmann equation is discussed.  相似文献

Prequantum classical statistical field theory (PCSFT) is a model that provides the possibility to represent the averages of quantum observables (including correlations of observables on subsystems of a composite system) as averages with respect to fluctuations of classical random fields. In view of the PCSFT terminology, quantum states are classical random fields. The aim of our approach is to represent all quantum probabilistic quantities by means of classical random fields. We obtain the classical-random-field representation for pairwise correlations in three-partite quantum systems. The three-partite case (surprisingly) differs substantially from the bipartite case. As an important first step, we generalized the theory developed for pure quantum states of bipartite systems to the states given by density operators.  相似文献

Considering a homogeneous normal quantum fluid consisting of identical interacting fermions or bosons, we derive an exact quantum-statistical generalized kinetic equation with a collision operator given as explicit cluster series where exchange effects are included through renormalized Liouville operators. This new result is obtained by applying a recently developed superoperator formalism (Liouville operators, cluster expansions, symmetrized projectors,P q rule, etc.) to nonequilibrium systems described by a density operator(t) which obeys the von Neumann equation. By means of this formalism a factorization theorem is proven (being essential for obtaining closed equations), and partial resummations (leading to renormalized quantities) are performed. As an illustrative application, the quantum-statistical versions (including exchange effects due to Fermi-Dirac or Bose-Einstein statistics) of the homogeneous Boltzmann (binary collisions) and Choh-Uhlenbeck (triple collisions) equations are derived.  相似文献

A quantum particle observed on a sufficiently large space-time scale can be described by means of classical particle trajectories. The joint distribution for large-scale multiple-time position and momentum measurements on a nonrelativistic quantum particle moving freely inR v is given by straight-line trajectories with probabilities determined by the initial momentum-space wavefunction. For large-scale toroidal and rectangular regions the trajectories are geodesics. In a uniform gravitational field the trajectories are parabolas. A quantum counting process on free particles is also considered and shown to converge in the large-space-time limit to a classical counting process for particles with straight-line trajectories. If the quantum particle interacts weakly with its environment, the classical particle trajectories may undergo random jumps. In the random potential model considered here, the quantum particle evolves according to a reversible unitary one-parameter group describing elastic scattering off static randomly distributed impurities (a quantum Lorentz gas). In the large-space-time weak-coupling limit a classical stochastic process is obtained with probability one and describes a classical particle moving with constant speed in straight lines between random jumps in direction. The process depends only on the ensemble value of the covariance of the random field and not on the sample field. The probability density in phase space associated with the classical stochastic process satisfies the linear Boltzmann equation for the classical Lorentz gas, which, in the limith0, goes over to the linear Landau equation. Our study of the quantum Lorentz gas is based on a perturbative expansion and, as in other studies of this system, the series can be controlled only for small values of the rescaled time and for Gaussian random fields. The discussion of classical particle trajectories for nonrelativistic particles on a macroscopic spacetime scale applies also to relativistic particles. The problem of the spatial localization of a relativistic particle is avoided by observing the particle on a sufficiently large space-time scale.  相似文献

The assumption that an ensemble of classical particles is subject to nonclassical momentum fluctuations, with the fluctuation uncertainty fully determined by the position uncertainty, has been shown to lead from the classical equations of motion to the Schrödinger equation. This ‘exact uncertainty’ approach may be generalised to ensembles of gravitational fields, where nonclassical fluctuations are added to the field momentum densities, of a magnitude determined by the uncertainty in the metric tensor components. In this way one obtains the Wheeler-DeWitt equation of quantum gravity, with the added bonus of a uniquely specified operator ordering. No a priori assumptions are required concerning the existence of wave functions, Hilbert spaces, Planck's constant, linear operators, etc. Thus this approach has greater transparency than the usual canonical approach, particularly in regard to the connections between quantum and classical ensembles. Conceptual foundations and advantages are emphasised.  相似文献

Entanglement is one of the key features of quantum world that has no classical counterpart. This arises due to the linear superposition principle and the tensor product structure of the Hilbert space when we deal with multiparticle systems. In this paper, we will introduce the notion of entanglement for quantum systems that are governed by non-Hermitian yet PT-symmetric Hamiltonians. We will show that maximally entangled states in usual quantum theory behave like non-maximally entangled states in PT-symmetric quantum theory. Furthermore, we will show how to create entanglement between two PT qubits using non-Hermitian Hamiltonians and discuss the entangling capability of such interaction Hamiltonians that are non-Hermitian in nature.  相似文献

The Federbush, massless Thirring and continuum Ising models and related integrable relativistic quantum field theories are studied. It is shown that local and covariant classical field operators exist that generate Bogoliubov transformations of the annihilation and creation operators on the Fock spaces of the respective models. The quantum fields of these models are closely related or equal to quadratic forms implementing these transformations, and hence formally inherit the covariance and locality of the underlying classical field operators. It is proved that the Federbush and massless Thirring fields on the physical sector do not satisfy the equation of motion. Closely related fields are defined that do satisfy it, and which lead to the same S-matrix, but these fields are presumably non-local. Bethe transforms are constructed for the various models, and on the unphysical sector the relation with the field theory approach is established.  相似文献

Recently it was shown that the main distinguishing features of quantum mechanics (QM) can be reproduced by a model based on classical random fields, the so-called prequantum classical statistical field theory (PCSFT). This model provides a possibility to represent averages of quantum observables, including correlations of observables on subsystems of a composite system (e.g., entangled systems), as averages with respect to fluctuations of classical (Gaussian) random fields. We consider some consequences of the PCSFT for quantum information theory. They are based on our previous observation that classical Gaussian channels (important in classical signal theory) can be represented as quantum channels. Now we show that quantum channels can be represented as classical linear transforms of classical Gaussian signals.  相似文献

Since there are quantization ambiguities in constructing the Hamiltonian constraint operator in isotropic loop quantum cosmology, it is crucial to check whether the key features of loop quantum cosmology are robust against the ambiguities. In this Letter, we quantize the Lorentz term of the gravitational Hamiltonian constraint in the spatially flat FRW model by two approaches different from that of the Euclidean term. One of the approaches is very similar to the treatment of the Lorentz part of Hamiltonian in loop quantum gravity and hence inherits more features from the full theory. Two symmetric Hamiltonian constraint operators are constructed respectively in the improved scheme. Both of them are shown to have the correct classical limit by the semiclassical analysis. In the loop quantum cosmological model with a massless scalar field, the effective Hamiltonians and Friedmann equations are derived. It turns out that the classical big bang is again replaced by a quantum bounce in both cases. Moreover, there are still great possibilities for the expanding universe to recollapse due to the quantum gravity effect.  相似文献

The transverse Ising Model (TIM) in one dimension is the simplest model which exhibits a quantum phase transition (QPT). Quantities related to quantum information theoretic measures like entanglement, quantum discord (QD) and fidelity are known to provide signatures of QPTs. The issue is less well explored when the quantum system is subjected to decoherence due to its interaction, represented by a quantum channel, with an environment. In this paper we study the dynamics of the mutual information I(ρ AB ), the classical correlations C(ρ AB ) and the quantum correlations Q(ρ AB ), as measured by the QD, in a two-qubit state the density matrix of which is the reduced density matrix obtained from the ground state of the TIM in 1d. The time evolution brought about by system-environment interactions is assumed to be Markovian in nature and the quantum channels considered are amplitude damping, bit-flip, phase-flip and bit-phase-flip. Each quantum channel is shown to be distinguished by a specific type of dynamics. In the case of the phase-flip channel, there is a finite time interval in which the quantum correlations are larger in magnitude than the classical correlations. For this channel as well as the bit-phase-flip channel, appropriate quantities associated with the dynamics of the correlations can be derived which signal the occurrence of a QPT.  相似文献

The one-particle average consistent with the structure of the revised Enskog theory is introduced. Symmetry properties of the linear kinetic operators reflecting those of theN-particle pseudo-Liouville operators are derived, implying a recently proved symmetry of kinetic expressions for equilibrium time correlation functions.  相似文献

A unified theory of plasma line broadening is obtained from a quantum kinetic equation, paralleling existing results for a classical plasma. The atom-electron interactions are shielded by equilibrium electron correlation functions and a frequency dependent dielectric function. A “ring” approximation is used to replace the classical plasma parameter expansion, for typical laboratory conditions. Atom-electron correlations are included as well as electron-electron correlations.  相似文献

We give a brief review of the theory of quantum universal invariants and their counterparts in the physics of light and particle beams. The invariants concerned are certain combinations of the second- and higher-order moments (variances) of quantum-mechanical operators, or the transverse phase-space coordinates of the paraxial beams of light or particles. They are conserved in time (or along the beam axis) independently of the concrete form of the coefficients of the Schrödinger-like equations governing the evolution of the systems, provided that the effective Hamiltonian is either a generic quadratic form of the generalized coordinate-momenta operators or a linear combination of generators of some finite-dimensional algebra (in particular, any semisimple Lie algebra). Using the phase space representation of quantum mechanics (paraxial optics) in terms of the Wigner function, we elucidate the relation of the quantum (optical) invariants to the classical universal integral invariants of Poincaré and Cartan. The specific features of Gaussian beams are discussed as examples. The concept of the universal quantum integrals of motion is introduced, and examples of the “universal invariant solutions” to the Schrödinger equation, i.e., self-consistent eigenstates of the universal integrals of motion, are given.  相似文献

The reduced dynamics of a quantum system interacting with a linear heat bath finds an exact representation in terms of a stochastic Schr?dinger equation. All memory effects of the reservoir are transformed into noise correlations and mean-field friction. The classical limit of the resulting stochastic dynamics is shown to be a generalized Langevin equation, and conventional quantum state diffusion is recovered in the Born-Markov approximation. The non-Markovian exact dynamics, valid at arbitrary temperature and damping strength, is exemplified by an application to the dissipative two-state system.  相似文献

We analyse nonperturbatively signal transmission patterns in Green’s functions of interacting quantum fields. Quantum field theory is reformulated in terms of the nonlinear quantum-statistical response of the field. This formulation applies equally to interacting relativistic fields and nonrelativistic models. Of crucial importance is that all causality properties to be expected of a response formulation indeed hold. Being by construction equivalent to Schwinger’s closed-time-loop formalism, this formulation is also shown to be related naturally to both Kubo’s linear response and Glauber’s macroscopic photodetection theories, being a unification of the two with generalisation to the nonlinear quantum-statistical response problem. In this paper we introduce response formulation of bosons; response reformulation of fermions will be subject of a separate paper.  相似文献
