It is shown that every almost linear bijection of a unital C-algebra A onto a unital C-algebra B is a C-algebra isomorphism when h(n2uy)=h(n2u)h(y) for all unitaries uA, all yA, and n=0,1,2,…, and that almost linear continuous bijection of a unital C-algebra A of real rank zero onto a unital C-algebra B is a C-algebra isomorphism when h(n2uy)=h(n2u)h(y) for all , all yA, and n=0,1,2,…. Assume that X and Y are left normed modules over a unital C-algebra A. It is shown that every surjective isometry , satisfying T(0)=0 and T(ux)=uT(x) for all xX and all unitaries uA, is an A-linear isomorphism. This is applied to investigate C-algebra isomorphisms between unital C-algebras.  相似文献

The Banach-Lie algebra L(A) of multiplication operators on the JB-triple A is introduced and it is shown that the hermitian part Lh(A) of L(A) is a unital GM-space the base of the dual cone in the dual GL-space (Lh(A)) of which is affine isomorphic and weak-homeomorphic to the state space of L(A). In the case in which A is a JBW-triple, it is shown that tripotents u and v in A are orthogonal if and only if the corresponding multiplication operators in the unital GM-space Lh(A) satisfy

Let X be a Banach space and A an m-accretive operator with a zero. Consider the iterative method that generates the sequence {xn} by the algorithm xn+1=αnu+(1−αn)Jrnxn, where {αn} and {rn} are two sequences satisfying certain conditions, and Jr denotes the resolvent −1(I+rA) for r>0. Strong convergence of the algorithm {xn} is proved assuming X either has a weakly continuous duality map or is uniformly smooth.  相似文献

Assume that X is a left Banach module over a unital C*-algebra A. It is shown that almost every n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping h:X×X×XnA is an n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping when holds for all x,y,z1,…,znX.Moreover, we prove the generalized Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability of an n-sesquilinear-quadratic mapping on a left Banach module over a unital C*-algebra.  相似文献

We prove that an isometry T between open subgroups of the invertible groups of unital Banach algebras A and B is extended to a real-linear isometry up to translation between these Banach algebras. While a unital isometry between unital semisimple commutative Banach algebras need not be multiplicative, we prove in this paper that if A is commutative and A or B are semisimple, then (T(eA))−1T is extended to an isometric real algebra isomorphism from A onto B. In particular, A−1 is isometric as a metric space to B−1 if and only if they are isometrically isomorphic to each other as metrizable groups if and only if A is isometrically isomorphic to B as a real Banach algebra; it is compared by the example of ?elazko concerning on non-isomorphic Banach algebras with the homeomorphically isomorphic invertible groups. Isometries between open subgroups of the invertible groups of unital closed standard operator algebras on Banach spaces are investigated and their general forms are given.  相似文献

We investigate when the set of finite products of distinct terms of a sequence 〈x n n=1 in a semigroup (S,⋅) is large in any of several standard notions of largeness. These include piecewise syndetic, central, syndetic, central*, and IP*. In the case of a “nice” sequence in (S,⋅)=(ℕ,+) one has that FS(〈x n n=1) has any or all of the first three properties if and only if {x n+1−∑ t=1 n x t :n∈ℕ} is bounded from above. N. Let M be a full Hilbert C*-module over a C*-algebra A,and let End*A(M) be the algebra of adjointable operators on M.We show that if A is unital and commutative,then every derivation of End A(M) is an inner derivation,and that if A is σ-unital and commutative,then innerness of derivations on "compact" operators completely decides innerness of derivations on End*A(M).If A is unital(no commutativity is assumed) such that every derivation of A is inner,then it is proved that every derivation of End*A(Ln(A)) is also inner,where Ln(A) denotes the direct sum of n copies of A.In addition,in case A is unital,commutative and there exist x0,y0 ∈ M such that x0,y0 = 1,we characterize the linear A-module homomorphisms on End*A(M) which behave like derivations when acting on zero products.  相似文献

Let X be a finite dimensional compact metrizable space. We study a technique which employs semiprojectivity as a tool to produce approximations of C(X)-algebras by C(X)-subalgebras with controlled complexity. The following applications are given. All unital separable continuous fields of C*-algebras over X with fibers isomorphic to a fixed Cuntz algebra On, n∈{2,3,…,∞}, are locally trivial. They are trivial if n=2 or n=∞. For n?3 finite, such a field is trivial if and only if (n−1)[A1]=0 in K0(A), where A is the C*-algebra of continuous sections of the field. We give a complete list of the Kirchberg algebras D satisfying the UCT and having finitely generated K-theory groups for which every unital separable continuous field over X with fibers isomorphic to D is automatically locally trivial or trivial. In a more general context, we show that a separable unital continuous field over X with fibers isomorphic to a KK-semiprojective Kirchberg C*-algebra is trivial if and only if it satisfies a K-theoretical Fell type condition.  相似文献

The notion of topological free entropy dimension of n-tuple of elements in a unital C algebra was introduced by Voiculescu. In the paper, we compute topological free entropy dimension of one self-adjoint element and topological free orbit dimension of one self-adjoint element in a unital C algebra. We also calculate the values of topological free entropy dimensions of any families of self-adjoint generators of some unital C algebras, including irrational rotation C algebra, UHF algebra, and minimal tensor product of two reduced C algebras of free groups.  相似文献

Let A be a unital normed algebra and let M be a unitary Banach left A-module. If f:AM is an approximate module left derivation, then f:AM is a module left derivation. Moreover, if M=A is a semiprime unital Banach algebra and f(tx) is continuous in tR for each fixed x in A, then every approximately linear left derivation f:AA is a linear derivation which maps A into the intersection of its center Z(A) and its Jacobson radical rad(A). We show that if A is a CSL algebra on a Hilbert space or a J-lattice algebra on a Banach space then there exists an isomorphism ψ from A onto B such that ?=kψ. Let E be a uniformly convex and 2-uniformly smooth real Banach space with dual E. Let be a Lipschitz continuous monotone mapping with A−1(0)≠∅. For given u,x1E, let {xn} be generated by the algorithm xn+1:=βnu+(1−βn)(xnαnAJxn), n?1, where J is the normalized duality mapping from E into E and {λn} and {θn} are real sequences in (0,1) satisfying certain conditions. Then it is proved that, under some mild conditions, {xn} converges strongly to xE where JxA−1(0). Finally, we apply our convergence theorems to the convex minimization problems.  相似文献

Let A be a unital separable simple C∗-algebra  with TR(A)?1 and α be an automorphism. We show that if α satisfies the tracially cyclic Rokhlin property then . We also show that whenever A has a unique tracial state and αm is uniformly outer for each m(≠0) and αr is approximately inner for some r>0, α satisfies the tracial cyclic Rokhlin property. By applying the classification theory of nuclear C∗-algebras, we use the above result to prove a conjecture of Kishimoto: if A is a unital simple -algebra of real rank zero and α∈Aut(A) which is approximately inner and if α satisfies some Rokhlin property, then the crossed product is again an -algebra of real rank zero. As a by-product, we find that one can construct a large class of simple C∗-algebras with tracial rank one (and zero) from crossed products.  相似文献

Akemann showed that any von Neumann algebra with a weak* separable dual space has a faithful normal representation on a separable Hilbert space. He posed the question: If a C*-algebra has a weak* separable state space, must it have a faithful representation on a separable Hilbert space? Wright solved this question negatively and showed that a unital C*-algebra has the weak* separable state space if and only if it has a unital completely positive map, into a type I factor on a separable Hilbert space, whose restriction to the self-adjoint part induces an order isomorphism. He called such a C*-algebra almost separably representable. We say that a unital C*-algebra is small if it has a unital complete isometry into a type I factor on a separable Hilbert space. In this paper we show that a unital C*-algebra is small if and only if the state spaces of all n by n matrix algebras over the C*-algebra are weak*-separable. It is natural to ask whether almost separably representable algebras are small or not. We settle this question positively for simple C*-algebras but the general question remains open.  相似文献

From the theory of M-matrices (see e.g. [1]) it is known that if there exist α > 0 and a matrix B: ρ→ρ such that A = B?αI, then the following conditions are equivalent: (i) ? A is ρ-monotone,(ii) A is ρ-seminegative, (iii) Re[Spectrum(A)]<0.
