In this paper we prove an existence and uniqueness theorem for solving the operator equation F(x)+G(x)=0, where F is a Gateaux differentiable continuous operator while the operator G satisfies a Lipschitz-condition on an open convex subset of a Banach space. As corollaries, a theorem of Tapia on a weak Newton's method and the classical convergence theorem for modified Newton-iterates are deduced. An existence theorem for a generalized Euler-Lagrange equation in the setting of Sobolev space is obtained as a consequence of the main theorem. We also obtain a class of Gateaux differentiable operators which are nowhere Frechet differentiable. Illustrative examples are also provided.  相似文献

We discuss the finite representability of a Banach space E in another Banach space F, assuming that F satisfies certain smoothness conditions. We apply these results to develop a classification of superreflexive spaces into isomorphic classes, called k-superreflexive spaces (k = 1, 2,…, ∞); and we derive a strong converse to Dvoretsky's near-sphericity theorem. Further, our main theorem complements an important recent result of Krivine.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear differential inclusion x′(t) ∈ Ax(t) + F(x(t)), where A is an m-dissipative operator on a separable Banach space X and F is a multi-function. We establish a viability result under Lipschitz hypothesis on F, that consists in proving the existence of solutions of the differential inclusion above, starting from a given set, which remain arbitrarily close to that set, if a tangency condition holds. To this end, we establish a kind of set-valued Gronwall’s lemma and a compactness theorem, which are extensions to the nonlinear case of similar results for semilinear differential inclusions. As an application, we give an approximate null controllability result.  相似文献

The “Up-and-down” theorem which describes the structure of the Boolean algebra of fragments of a linear positive operator is the well known result in operator theory. We prove an analog of this theorem for a positive abstract Uryson operator defined on a vector lattice and taking values in a Dedekind complete vector lattice. This result is used to prove a theorem of domination for order narrow positive abstract Uryson operators from a vector lattice E to a Banach lattice F with an order continuous norm.  相似文献

In [7], Cross showed that the spectrum of a linear relation T on a normed space satisfies the spectral mapping theorem. In this paper, we extend the notion of essential ascent and descent for an operator acting on a vector space to linear relations acting on Banach spaces. We focus to define and study the descent, essential descent, ascent and essential ascent spectrum of a linear relation everywhere defined on a Banach space X. In particular, we show that the corresponding spectrum satisfy the polynomial version of the spectral mapping theorem.  相似文献

A new semilocal convergence theorem for Newton's method is established for solving a nonlinear equation F(x) = 0, defined in Banach spaces. It is assumed that the operator F is twice Fréchet differentiable, and F″ satisfies a Lipschitz type condition. Results on uniqueness of solution and error estimates are also given. Finally, these results are compared with those that use Kantorovich conditions.  相似文献

In the present paper we examine the stability of Weyl’s theorem under perturbations. We show that if T is an isoloid operator on a Banach space, that satisfies Weyl’s theorem, and F is a bounded operator that commutes with T and for which there exists a positive integer n such that Fn is finite rank, then T + F obeys Weyl’s theorem. Further, we establish that if T is finite-isoloid, then Weyl’s theorem is transmitted from T to T + R, for every Riesz operator R commuting with T. Also, we consider an important class of operators that satisfy Weyl’s theorem, and we give a more general perturbation results for this class.  相似文献

In the first part of this paper, we consider nonlinear extension of frame theory by introducing bi-Lipschitz maps F between Banach spaces. Our linear model of bi-Lipschitz maps is the analysis operator associated with Hilbert frames, p-frames, Banach frames, g-frames and fusion frames. In general Banach space setting, stable algorithms to reconstruct a signal x from its noisy measurement \(F(x)+\epsilon \) may not exist. In this paper, we establish exponential convergence of two iterative reconstruction algorithms when F is not too far from some bounded below linear operator with bounded pseudo-inverse, and when F is a well-localized map between two Banach spaces with dense Hilbert subspaces. The crucial step to prove the latter conclusion is a novel fixed point theorem for a well-localized map on a Banach space. In the second part of this paper, we consider stable reconstruction of sparse signals in a union \(\mathbf{A}\) of closed linear subspaces of a Hilbert space \(\mathbf{H}\) from their nonlinear measurements. We introduce an optimization framework called a sparse approximation triple \((\mathbf{A}, \mathbf{M}, \mathbf{H})\), and show that the minimizer

provides a suboptimal approximation to the original sparse signal \(x^0\in \mathbf{A}\) when the measurement map F has the sparse Riesz property and the almost linear property on \({\mathbf A}\). The above two new properties are shown to be satisfied when F is not far away from a linear measurement operator T having the restricted isometry property.

We provide a local as well as a semilocal convergence analysis for two-point Newton-like methods in a Banach space setting under very general Lipschitz type conditions. Our equation contains a Fréchet differentiable operator F and another operator G whose differentiability is not assumed. Using more precise majorizing sequences than before we provide sufficient convergence conditions for Newton-like methods to a locally unique solution of equation F(x)+G(x)=0. In the semilocal case we show under weaker conditions that our error estimates on the distances involved are finer and the information on the location of the solution at least as precise as in earlier results. In the local case a larger radius of convergence is obtained. Several numerical examples are provided to show that our results compare favorably with earlier ones. As a special case we show that the famous Newton-Kantorovich hypothesis is weakened under the same hypotheses as the ones contained in the Newton-Kantorovich theorem.  相似文献

We introduce the (H) property of a multifunction F from I × Y to Y and prove that the Carathéodory superposition of F with each continuous function f from I to Y is a derivative provided that F has the (H) property. We study the existence of solutions to abstract equations of the form 0=Au+F(u), uK?E, where A is an abstract differential operator acting in a Banach space E, K is a closed convex set of constraints being invariant with respect to resolvents of A and a perturbation F satisfies a certain tangency condition. Such problems are closely related to the so-called Poincaré–Miranda theorem, being the multi-dimensional counterpart of the celebrated Bolzano intermediate value theorem. In fact our main results should be regarded as infinite-dimensional variants of Bolzano and Miranda–Poincaré theorems. Along with single-valued problems we deal with set-valued ones, yielding the existence of the so-called constrained equilibria of set-valued maps. The abstract results are applied to show existence of (strong) steady state solutions to some weakly coupled systems of drift reaction–diffusion equations or differential inclusions of this type. In particular we get the existence of strong solutions to the Dirichlet, Neumann and periodic boundary problems for elliptic partial differential inclusions under the presence of state constraints of different type. Certain aspects of the Bernstein theory for bvp for second order ODE are studied, too. No assumptions concerning structural coupling (monotonicity, cooperativity) are undertaken.  相似文献

Under consideration is some problem for inhomogeneous differential evolution equation in Banach space with an operator that generates a C 0-continuous semigroup and a nonlocal integral condition in the sense of Stieltjes. In case the operator has continuous inhomogeneity in the graph norm. We give the necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of a generalized solution for the problem of whether the nonlocal data belong to the generator domain. Estimates on solution stability are given, and some conditions are obtained for existence of the classical solution of the nonlocal problem. All results are extended to a Sobolev-type linear equation, the equation in Banach space with a degenerate operator at the derivative. The time nonlocal problem for the partial differential equation, modeling a filtrating liquid free surface, illustrates the general statements.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with an operator equation Ax+Bx+Cx=x on ordered Banach spaces, where A is an increasing α-concave operator, B is an increasing sub-homogeneous operator and C is a homogeneous operator. The existence and uniqueness of its positive solutions is obtained by using the properties of cones and a fixed point theorem for increasing general β-concave operators. As applications, we utilize the fixed point theorems obtained in this paper to study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for two classes nonlinear problems which include fourth-order two-point boundary value problems for elastic beam equations and elliptic value problems for Lane-Emden-Fowler equations.  相似文献

A theory of quantum stochastic processes in Banach space is initiated. The processes considered here consist of Banach space valued sesquilinear maps. We establish an existence and uniqueness theorem for quantum stochastic differential equations in Banach modules, show that solutions in unital Banach algebras yield stochastic cocycles, give sufficient conditions for a stochastic cocycle to satisfy such an equation, and prove a stochastic Lie–Trotter product formula. The theory is used to extend, unify and refine standard quantum stochastic analysis through different choices of Banach space, of which there are three paradigm classes: spaces of bounded Hilbert space operators, operator mapping spaces and duals of operator space coalgebras. Our results provide the basis for a general theory of quantum stochastic processes in operator spaces, of which Lévy processes on compact quantum groups is a special case.  相似文献

Let X and Y be Banach spaces and T:YX be a bounded operator. In this note, we show first some operator versions of the dual relation between q-convexity and p-smoothness of Banach spaces case. Making use of them, we prove then the main result of this note that the two notions of uniform q-convexity and uniform p-smoothness of an operator T introduced by J. Wenzel are actually equivalent to that the corresponding T-modulus δT of convexity and the T-modulus ρT of smoothness introduced by G. Pisier are of power type q and of power type p, respectively. This is also an operator version of a combination of a Hoffman's theorem and a Figiel-Pisier's theorem. As their application, we show finally that a recent theorem of J. Borwein, A.J. Guirao, P. Hajek and J. Vanderwerff about q-convexity of Banach spaces is again valid for q-convexity of operators.  相似文献

The ordered pair (T,I) of two self-maps of a metric space (X,d) is called a Banach operator pair if the set F(I) of fixed points of I is T-invariant i.e. T(F(I))⊆F(I).
