The bremsstrahlung is considered from a neutral Fermi particle with anomalous magnetic and electric moments in the field of a screened Coulomb center and in the presence of a plane electromagnetic wave. The effect of the wave polarization on the scattering cross section and the behavior of the particle spin during the scattering process are considered. Cross sections are given for scattering of a particle at a Coulomb center in the presence of constant, crossed electric and magnetic fields which are equal in magnitude and also for a free particle. It is shown that the effect of the anomalous electric moment is often decisive.  相似文献

Rotation of a spherical particle in a static electric field and under steady irradiation that induces an electric dipole moment in the particle is studied for the first time. Along with the general treatment of the phenomenon, we analyze possible mechanisms underlying the photoinduction of dipole moment in the particle. Estimations of the angular velocity and the power expended by the rotating particle are provided. The indicated characteristics reach their maximum values if the size of particles is within the range of 10 nm to 10 μm.  相似文献

The hybrid-type electric curtain (HTEC) comprises a planar electric curtain and a perpendicular planar condenser. Serial cylindrical electrodes are supplied with AC voltage, whereas the condenser is fed with DC voltage. HTEC allows for better control of the particle position shift in space. The particle oscillation path within the hybrid curtain has been photographically analysed. The changing particle path was recorded according to a DC changing voltage value and a constant AC voltage value. The aim of the paper is to describe a successful method that enables one to experimentally determine the region where the particle can be stably oscillated.  相似文献

A self-consistent model is proposed to study nonlinear phenomena, such as secondary resonance and hysteresis in the vertical oscillations of a charged microparticle in a radio-frequency sheath. The motion of a single microparticle in the sheath is simulated by solving Newton's equation in which various forces acting on the particle are taken into account. The particle charging and the sheath electric field are described by a self-consistent model of the collisional radio-frequency sheath dynamics. It is found that the nonlinearity is related to the particle's charge, the sheath electric field, and the external excitation force, as well as the ion drag force and neutral-gas friction on the particle.  相似文献

Some field experimental results have shown that the moving sands or dust aerosols in nature are usually electrified,and those charged particles also produce a strong electric field in air, which is named as wind-blown sand electric field.Some scholars have pointed out that the net charge on the particle significantly enhances its electromagnetic(EM) extinction properties, but up to now, there is no conclusive research on the effect of the environmental electric field. Based on the extended Mie theory, the effect of the electric field in a sandstorm on the EM attenuation properties of the charged larger dust particle is studied. The numerical results indicate that the environmental electric field also has a great influence on the particle's optical properties, and the stronger the electric field, the bigger the effect. In addition, the charged angle, the charge density, and the particle radius all have a specific impact on the charged particle's optical properties.  相似文献

We have studied the multipole polarizability of a graded spherical particle in a nonuniform electric field, in which the conductivity can vary radially inside the particle. The main objective of this work is to access the effects of multipole interactions at small interparticle separations, which can be important in non-dilute suspensions of functionally graded materials. The nonuniform electric field arises either from that applied on the particle or from the local field of all other particles. We developed a differential effective multipole moment approximation (DEMMA) to compute the multipole moment of a graded spherical particle in a nonuniform external field. Moreover, we compare the DEMMA results with the exact results of the power-law graded profile and the agreement is excellent. The extension to anisotropic DEMMA will be studied in an Appendix.  相似文献

We study the random motion of a charged test particle coupled to electromagnetic vacuum fluctuations near a perfectly reflecting plane boundary with a nonzero classical constant velocity in a direction parallel to the plane. We calculate the mean squared fluctuations in the velocity and position of the test particle taking into account both fluctuating electric and magnetic forces. Our results show that the influence of fluctuating magnetic fields is, in general, of the higher order than that caused by fluctuating electric fields and is thus negligible.  相似文献

The polarization fields of a relativistic particle moving in a homogeneous medium are calculated. The results are illustrated by graphs that show the behavior of the electric and magnetic fields in the reference frame comoving with the particle. In electrostatic applications, particles are typically stacked in an arbitrary array. In this paper, multiple particle agglomerations with a finite volume conductivity, surface conductivity and permittivity have been simulated. Upon exposure to the electric field, electric shielding can occur due to the proximity of other particles, which greatly reduces the maximum accumulated charge and affects the charging time. All results have been obtained using the COMSOL commercial software. The simulation results show that shielding the electric field from a given particle reduces its saturation charge and the rate of charge accumulation was mainly affected by the volume and surface conductivities.  相似文献

We have numerically investigated two-dimensional dielectrophoretic motions of one particle induced due to interactions with a nearby planar wall under uniform electric field. Results show that the motions depend strongly on the gap between the particle and wall and their conductivity combination while the motion direction is determined uniquely by the wall conductivity. The particle is repelled to move farther away from the wall less conductive than the fluid, and vice versa. The motions become strengthened as either conductivity of the particle or wall deviates further from that of the fluid. Finally, the mechanism for the wall-induced DEP motions is examined.  相似文献

We obtain the solution to the equations of motion for a classical particle with spin, electric and magnetic charges, and electric and magnetic normal and anomalous moments, in the field of a plane electromagnetic wave. An explicit form of the solution is given for linearly polarized waves and monochromatic circularly polarized waves. The electric-field energy absorption cross section of a bimetallic cylindrical particle is calculated for an external ac electric field directed along the axis of the particle. The calculations are performed for arbitrary values of the ratio of the particle core radius to the particle radius. The reflection of electrons from the inner and outer surfaces of the metallic shell of the particle is assumed to be diffuse. Equivalent resistance of a polydisperse powder layer struck by an electric spark is evaluated. Particles were computationally created and mixed using discrete element method; the mixing protocol homogenized particle size distribution within the sample. The conductivity was determined from the equivalent resistance network for the simulated powder bed. A plasma streamer attached to a particle on top of the sample. For each particle contact, an electrical breakdown was assumed; each individual contact resistance was calculated considering its geometry and plasma resistivity. The absorption cross section for the energy of an electric field aligned with the symmetry axis of a cylindrical metal particle is calculated. The radius of the particle is assumed to be much smaller than its length. As the boundary condition of the problem, diffuse reflection of electrons from the inner surface of the particle is taken. In this work we extend an analysis due to Visser of the effective propagation of a neutral scalar particle on a brane world scenario which is a particular solution of the five dimensional Einstein-Maxwell equations with cosmological constant having an electric field pointing in the extra spatial dimension. We determine the dispersion relations of a charged scalar particle to first order in a perturbative analysis around those of the neutral particle. Since depending on whether the particle is charged or not the dispersion relations change, we could collect bulk information, namely the presence of the electric field, by studying the 4D dynamics of the particles.It is a pleasure to dedicate this work to Alberto García on the occasion of his 60th birthday.  相似文献
