The order of extraction of Mo(VI) from 1M acid solutions by 5% (v/v) LIX 622 (HL) in benzene is HCl>HNO3>HClO4>H2SO4, and extraction decreases with increasing concentration of HCl and H2SO4, and increases slightly with increasing concentration of HNO3 and HClO4. The extracted species is shown to be MoO2L2 as established by IR data of organic extracts and the extracted species in the solid form. Extraction is almost quantitative at and above 10% LIX 622, and is found to be independent of [Mo(VI)] in the range of 10–4 to 10–3 M. The diluents CCl4, CHCl3 and C6H6 are found to be superior to solvents of high dielectric constant for extraction of Mo(VI). Extraction of uranium(VI) by 10% (v/v) LIX 622 in benzene was found to increase with increasing equilibrium pH (3.0 to 6.0), and becomes quantitative at pH 5.9. Tributyl phosphate acts as a modifier up to 2% (v/v). Thorium(IV) is almost not extracted by LIX 622 or its mixture. Separation of Mo(VI) and U(VI) is feasible. 相似文献

We describe the operation of a Local Area Network at Nuclear Chemistry Laboratory involved in surveillance of environmental radioactivity. Detailed consideration is given separately to computer and network hardware, radiation instrument interfacing, software, as well as operations. The application of a Local Area Network offers considerable improvements in the laboratory preformance, quality assurance of radioactivity analyses, and data reporting. 相似文献

A simple, rapid and reproducible method for the extractive separation of molybdenum(VI) and rhenium(VII) is proposed using triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO) dissolved in toluene as an extractant. The extractions are carried out from the hydrochloric and hydrobromic acid medium. The extraction of molybdenum is quantitative from 2.54-3.10 M hydrochloric acid and from 3.76-3.98 M hydrobromic acid, and that of rhenium is from 6.78-7.91 M hydrochloric acid. The probable nature of the extractable species is established using log distribution ratio-log concentration plots. The method permits mutual separation of molybdenum(VI) and rhenium(VII) and is applicable for the analysis of alloys and pharmaceutical sample. The detection limits for molybdenum(VI) and rhenium(VII) are 0.8 ppm and 4 ppm respectively. 相似文献

Liquid-liquid extractions of zirconium/IV/, thorium/IV/ and uranium/VI/ with a tetradentate Schiff base, bis/salicylidene/ ethylenediamine /H2Salen/ in benzene as the diluent have been studied. Comparison of such results with those in case of a bidentate Schiff base, N-salicylidene-p-toluidine /HSalTol/ shows that the extraction of UO

is significantly improved if H2Salen is used instead of HSalTol2. A single extraction at pH 6.5 with H2Salen removes uranium/VI/. Extraction of all the three metals becomes quantitative at pH 6.5. The extracted species, which have been derived from slope-analyses of extraction results, seem to be of the type [Zr4/OH/12 /HSalen/2]Cl2, [UO2/OH/ /HSalen/] and [Th/OH/3 /HSalen/]. 相似文献

In this study, fatty amides (FAs) synthesized from palm olein were used to extract and separate Mo(VI) from acidic media. Effects of various parameters upon the separation of Mo(VI) from Co(II), Ni(II), Al(III) and Mn(II), including extractant concentration, metal ion concentration, contact time, diluent, and acidity, were investigated. It was found that Mo(VI) was successfully separated from the above commonly associated metal ions by stripping from the loaded organic phase. Different acidic and alkaline solutions were used. Ammonium hydroxide solution was an optimal. Extraction of Mo(VI) into the organic phase involved the formation of 1:3 complexes. This work presents the development of a low-cost and environmentally friendly extractant to recycle and recover molybdenum. 相似文献

Summary The properties and behaviour of the hydroxamic acid resin have been studied and shown to be an highly selective resin for molybdenum(VI), tungsten(VI), uranium(VI) and vanadium(V) ions. The stability constants of these metal ion complexes with the resin have been determined. The sorption and desorption characteristics of these metal ions on this resin and the methods for the separation of these metal ions from each other on a short column of such resin were also developed.

The effect of pH on the percent extraction of vanadium(V), iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), molybdenum(VI), tungsten(VI) and uranium(VI) by -benzoinoxime in different solvents has been studied. The maximum recovery is not appreciably affected by the nature of the solvent, but occurs at different pH values for different metals. The pH corresponding to maximum extraction increases with increasing hydrolysis pK of the species in aqueous solution, and decreases with increasing stability constant of the complexes formed. Alpha-benzoinoxime allows the separation of these metal ions into three groups: V(V), Mo(VI) and W(VI) are extracted at pH=2, U(VI) at pH=5, Fe(II), Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) at around pH=10. 相似文献

Two isomeric monoamides, dioctyl butyramide (DOBA) and dioctyl isobutyramide (DOIBA) were synthesized for extracting uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) from aqueous nitric acid medium into various diluents such asn-dodecane, tertiary butyl benzene and xylene. DOBA extracted uranium(VI) and plutonium(IV) efficiently whereas DOIBA extracted uranium(VI) with negligible extraction for plutonium(IV). Both these cations were extracted as their disolvates. The thermodynamic parameters involved in the extraction determined by the temperature variation method indicated the reactions in all cases to be enthalpy favoured and entropy disfavoured. Possibility of separating micrograms of plutonium(IV) from macroquantities of uranium(VI) using the mixture of these amides was explored. 相似文献

Synthesis and characterization of N,N,N',N'-tetrabutylsuccinamide (TBSA)was carried out and used for the extraction of U(VI) and Th(IV) from nitricacid solutions. Toluene was found to be the most suitable diluent for TBSAcompared with the other diluents tested. Extraction distribution ratios (D)of U(VI) and Th(IV) have been studied as a function of aqueous HNO 3 concentrations,NO3 – ion concentration, TBSA concentration and temperature. The results obtained indicated that U(VI) and Th(IV) are mainly extractedas UO2 (NO3 ) 2 . 2TBSA and Th(NO3 ) 4 . TBSA, respectively, and the IR spectra of the extractedspecies have been investigated. The values of thermodynamic functions havebeen calculated. Back-extraction of U(VI) and Th(IV) from organic phases wasalso studied. 相似文献

The extraction of U(VI), Eu and Am by the aromatic main component (HA) of LIX 64N dissolved in toluene was studied at pH 3–9. The values of pH1/2 for the extraction with 0.146 M HA are 4.0, 5.5 and 5.2, and the pH's of maximum extraction are 6.0, 6.8, and 7.0 for U(VI), Eu and Am, respectively. The stoichiometry of the extracted chelates determined by the slope analysis is UO2A2 and MA3–nYn (n=1,2) for Eu and Am, the ligand Y being probably the nitrate anion. The addition of tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO) enhances the extraction of U(VI) and especially of Eu at pH<6. An Eu chelate species solvated by 2 TOPO molecules is extracted at pH 4 by the mixture of HA+TOPO, whereas the species extracted at pH 6.5 is not solvated by TOPO. 相似文献

A new bifunctional extractant named phenyl-N,N-dibutylcarbamoylmethyl sulfoxide (PCMSO) is synthesized and characterized in
order to investigate its selectivity and capability in the extraction from acidic nitrate media in nuclear reprocessing. The
extraction of uranium (VI) with PCMSO in toluene has been studied at various concentrations of nitric acid, extractant and
salting-out agent (LiNO3). The mechanism of extraction is discussed in the light of the results obtained. The extracted species has also been investigated
using FT-IR spectrometry. The related thermodynamic functions were calculated. The IR spectral study was also made of the
extracted species. 相似文献

Poly(cyclotriphosphazene-co-phloroglucinol) (PCPP) microspheres, a new solid phase extraction for extracting uranium(VI), synthesized via one-pot precipitation copolymerization. The PCPP microspheres were characterized by FT-IR, SEM/EDS, zeta potential and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms. Through the extraction experiment to evaluate the extraction behavior of the PCPP microspheres for uranium(VI). The extractant can achieve the optimal effect under the conditions of contact time with 60 min, pH = 3.5, initial concentration 100 mg L−1 and extractant dosage 0.70 g L−1. The extraction behavior obeyed with the pseudo second-order model and Langmuir isotherm model.

The kinetics of solvent extraction of U (IV), Th (IV) and U (VI) from nitric acid solution with tributyl phosphate (TBP) in kerosene and cyclohexane have been studied using the single drop technique. The effects of concentrations of U (IV), Th (IV), U (VI), nitric acid, nitrate, TBP and temperature on the extraction rates of U (IV), Th (IV) and U (VI) have been examined. The mechanisms for the three extraction processes are discussed. 相似文献

Extraction studies of uranium(VI) and molybdenum(VI) with organophosphoric, phosphinic acid and its thiosubstituted derivatives have been carried out from 0.1–1.0M HCl solutions. The extracted species are proposed to be UO2R2 and MoO2 CIR on the basis of slope analysis for uranium(VI) and molybdenum(VI), respectively. The extraction efficiencies of PC-88A, Cyanex 272, Cyanex 301 and Cyanex 302 in the extraction of molybdenum(VI) and uranium(VI) are compared. Synergistic effects have been studied with binary mixtures of extractants. Separation of molybdenum(VI) from uranium(VI) is feasible by Cyanex 301 from 1M HCl, the separation factor log being 2.3. 相似文献
