The equation of state of the XY model in a longitudinal (Γ) and transverse field (B) is investigated in the vicinity of a multicritical point (Γc, T =0) using the renormalization group method developed recently by the author and K. Walasek. For Γ = Γc a quantal crossover behaviour of the form H = MR3ψ (z) is obtained, where HB, MR denotes the transverse magnetization, zTMR?/βq, while ?,βq are crossover and multicritical exponents, respectively.  相似文献

We present a new global fit to precision electroweak data, including new low- and high-energy data and analyzing the radiative corrections arising from the minimal symmetry breaking sectors of the Standard Model (SM) and its supersymmetric extension (MSSM). It is shown that present data favor a Higgs mass ofO(M z):M H=76 ?50 +152 GeV. We confront our analysis with (meta) stability and perturbative bounds on the SM Higgs mass, and the theoretical upper bound on the MSSM Higgs mass. Present data do not discriminate significantly between the SM and MSSM Higgs mass ranges. We comment in passing on the sensitivity of the Higgs mass determination to the values ofα(M z) andα s(M z).  相似文献

We describe in detail the calculation of all first-order electroweak radiative corrections to total and differential neutrino cross sections and to the parity-violating asymmetry in ed scattering. We find that leading log approximations agree well with our exact result for the shape, but not necessarily the magnitude, of the corrections to dσν,ν/dγ except for γ → 1. Corrections to total neutrino cross sections have also been calculated by Marciano and Sirlin; our results agree with theirs. The corrections to sin2θw are experiment dependent. If sin2θw is defined in the MS scheme at a scale Mw, they reduce the average value found from the ratio of charged to neutral current neutrino scattering by 0.012 to 0.215 ± 0.015. They reduce the value obatained from the Paschos Wolfenstein relation by 0.008 to 0.221 ± 0.014. In ed scattering they reduce the value by 0.008 to 0.215 ± 0.015. Using a corrected value of 0.215 ± 0.015 and the first-order corrections to the mass formulae, the SU(2) × U(1) predictions for the vector boson masses are Mw = 83.1?2.8+3.1rmGeV and Mz = 93.8?2.2+2.5 GeV, about five GeV larger than obtained from the lowest order analysis.  相似文献

Taking the Rayleigh range zR and the M2-factor as the characteristic parameters of beam quality, the beam quality of radial Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) array beams is studied. The analytical expressions for the zR and the M2-factor of radial GSM array beams are derived. It is shown that for the superposition of the cross-spectral density function zR is longer and the M2-factor is lower than that for the superposition of the intensity. For the two types of superposition, zR increases and the M2-factor decreases with increase in beam coherence parameter, and both zR and the M2-factor increase with increase in inverse radial fill-factor. For the superposition of the cross-spectral density function, zR increases and the M2-factor decreases with increase in beam number, while for the superposition of the intensity both the zR and M2-factor are independent of the beam number.  相似文献

The explicit analytic expressions for the electroweak radiative corrections to the differential cross sectione + e ?→γγ are calculated to one-loop in the framework of the Glashow-Salam-Weinberg model for relativistic energies. Special attention is given to the influence of the parametersM Z ,M W on these corrections.  相似文献

We consider a classical Hamiltonian H = Lz+Mz+LxMx, where the components of L and M satisfy Poisson brackets similar to those of angular momenta. There are three constants of motion: H, L2 and M2. By studying Poincaré surfaces of section, we find that the motion is regular when L2 or M2 is very small or very large. It is chaotic when both L2 and M2 have intermediate values. The interest of this model lies in its quantization, which involves finite matrices only.  相似文献

A phenomenological theory of the sequence of two second-order phase transitions with close temperatures is considered; such transitions occur in the Ni-Br boracite. The thermodynamic potential is written as a function of polarization P i, magnetization M i, and toroidal moment T i vectors and fields E i and H i; T i is treated as an order parameter. It is assumed that only one coefficient of T i 2 passes through zero as T decreases. The possibility of a sequence of two proper ferrotoroidal phase transitions along the T 1 and T 2 components is demonstrated. Spontaneous T i, P i, and M i vector values and equations for susceptibility tensors (dielectric χ ij = dP i/dE j, magnetic k ij = dM i/dH j, and magnetoelectric αij = dP i/dH j = dM j/dE i) were obtained for three phases. Some of these values have well-defined anomalies in the vicinity of transitions. All possible sequences of ferrotoroidal phase transitions in boracites are considered. Depending on two potential coefficient values, these sequences may consist of one, two, or three such transitions.  相似文献

The decoupling theorems associated with an isolated factorizable pomeron pole of unit intercept are re-examined. It is found that the coupling of three such poles, Γ(t, t, 0), need not vanish, precisely at the point t = 0. This is demonstrated by summing only over states in the appropriate unitarity sum, and sum rule, which are consistent with the M2, s/M2 → ∞ limit. The triple-Regge region then makes a constant contribution to σtotal, insteadsb of the ln lns result obtained if the isolated pole is assumed to couple also to states such that s/M2 = constant. The physical implications regarding factorization and the pole-cut relationship are discussed. The relationship between higher order optical theorems (Mueller discontinuities) and particular terms in the unitarity sum for the two → two absorptive part A22 is exploited. Consistent contributions to the triple-Regge region contribute constant vertex corrections to pure pole behaviour in A22. There is no cut contribution and the magnitude of the vertex corrections reflects the relative amount of diffractive production. The analysis is extended to multiple fireball production where pure multipole structures emerge. The series naturally terminates if the diffractive component is sufficiently small. The implications for the behaviour of the total cross section at machine energies are discussed.  相似文献

A nonconventional generalization of the quasispin formalism for N identical particles is presented. The generators S+ = ΣipiS+i, S? = Σipi?1S?i, Sz = ΣiSzi of this quasispin group depend on the dynamical parameters pi. This parameter-dependent quasispin group appears as a deformation of the conventional quasispin group (pi = 1). With such a definition of the quasispin group, the 2n-projection S+n|0> of the BCS state is seen to be an exact generalized seniority zero state. More precisely, this dynamical quasispin group provides the mathematical framework to discuss the earlier generalization of Talmi et al. Theoretical and numerical calculations of the generalized seniority zero multiplet have been carried out for the nickel and tin isotopes.  相似文献

If one defines the parameters of the Weinberg-Salam theory at a momentum scale M = O(MW, MZ), the weak effective hamiltonian at a momentum scale μ ? M has logarithmically enhanced corrections, of order αln(M2/μ2). We present a computation of these corrections, for that part of the hamiltonian which leads to detectable weak-electromagnetic interference effects. The largest correction can be absorbed into a running sin2θ(μ). Other, smaller, corrections are estimated, taking into account the effect of strong interactions. An estimate of the non-logarithmically enhanced corrections is also given, by evaluating them in the limit sin2θ → 0. From the SLAC e - d asymmetry it was found sin2θ = 0.224 ± 0.020 at μ2 ? 2 GeV2. In correspondence, we find sin2θ(M) = 0.217 ± 0.020. This value, however, is subject to uncertainties deriving from the effect of the strange and of the antiquark parton sea.  相似文献

We calculate the supersymmetric O(αs) QCD corrections to the cross section e+e → q̃ij (i, j = 1,2) within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We pay particular attention to the case of the left-right squark mixing and to the renormalization of the mixing angle. The corrections due to gluino exchange turn out to be smaller than those due to gluon exchange, but they can be significant at higher energies, even for a gluino mass of a few hundred GeV.  相似文献

It is shown exactly that for an N-site cyclic chain with hamiltonian H = ?ΣNi=1(γiSxi + JiSziSziSzi+1), the gap in the excitation spectrum goes to zero when N → ∞ at the “critical point” given by the relation ΠNi=1Γi = ΠNi=1Ji.  相似文献

The spin-Hamiltonian parameters (g factors g i and hyperfine structure constants A i , where i = x, y, z) of the rhombic Mo5+ center in Ca1?x Y x MoO4 crystal are calculated from the high-order perturbation formulas based on the two-mechanism model for the rhombic d1 tetrahedral clusters with the ground state |d z 2〉. In these formulas, besides the contributions due to the widely applied crystal-field (CF) mechanism concerning CF excited states, those due to the charge-transfer (CT) mechanism (which is omitted in CF theory) concerning CT excited states are considered. The calculated results are in reasonable agreement with the experimental values. The calculations show that because of the great relative importance of CT mechanism for the components of spin-Hamiltonian parameter along x and y axes, the accurate and complete calculations of spin-Hamiltonian parameters for Mo5+ and other high valence state dn ions in crystals should take account of both the CF and CT mechanisms. The defect model of the rhombic Mo5+ center is also confirmed from the calculations.  相似文献

One-dimensional quantum spin-1 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain (AFHC) with exchange anisotropy Jz, dimerization δ and single-ion anisotropy Dn(Snz)2 was investigated on the basis of the continuum representation of the model Hamiltonian. Analytical results for the excitation spectrum, phase order and the phase fluctuation φ were derived in a self-consistent-harmonic-field approach. We studied the effects of the single-ion anisotropy and dimerization on two gaps by taking the different momentum cutoff αi in two scalar field spaces Hi (i=1,2). The occurrences of richer phase transitions were understood in the viewpoints of the phase fluctuation and the z polar spin fluctuation. And the Gaussian critical line was given as JzDπα1δ=0.  相似文献

A simple difference equation for one type of correlators has been obtained by the method of direct calculation of the correlation functions (CF). It is correct for the Ising model of an arbitrary dimension with the exactness O(1z) (z-number of particles covered by the interaction potential). The equation obtained is used to calculate the pair CF 〈SzfSzj〉 in the three-dimensional Ising model with long-range forces which are of importance when dealing with the applied magnetic problems. The results of the calculations lead to corrections in the Ornstein-Zernike (OZ) theory.  相似文献

The definition of second-order intensity moments in the spatial domain and spatial frequency domain has been generalized for the case that the linear gain or absorbing media are included, where the wave number is generally complex. The formula for beam propagation M2-factor of partially coherent beams in linear gain or absorbing media has been given. The partially coherent flat-topped Schell-model beam is taken as an example. The closed-form expression for the beam propagation M2-factor of partially coherent flat-topped beam in gain or absorbing media has been derived. The changes of the M2-factor in media have been discussed with numerical examples. It can be shown that the M2-factor of flat-topped Schell-model beams in gain or absorbing media depends on the coherent parameter β, the coherent length σ0, the beam order M, the propagation distance B, the imaginary part of the wave number Ki, as well as the real part of the wave number Kr.  相似文献

General kinetic equations are derived for nuclear reactions in dense plasmas by taking into account first-order collective plasma effects. We show that, apart from the corrections proportional to the product of the charges Z i and Z j of two reacting nuclei i and j, new corrections comparable in magnitude and proportional to the squares of the nuclear charges Z i 2 and Z j 2 arise. The Salpeter corrections [1] to the nuclear reaction probabilities due to the plasma screening of the interaction potential are shown to be at least a factor of r/d (r is the nuclear size and d is the Debye screening length) smaller than those assumed previously. These are zero in the approximation where the terms of order r/d are disregarded. The correlation corrections proportional to Z iZj have a different physical meaning than those in [1], can have a different sign, and arise for reactions with zero Salpeter corrections. For the correlation corrections that substitute for the previously used Salpeter corrections, strong correlations are difficult to describe analytically. The interpolation formulas between weak and strong Salpeter screenings previously used in many astrophysical applications are inapplicable, because the interpolation formulas between weak and strong correlations cannot yet be obtained. We found a new type of corrections that are proportional to the squares of the charges of reacting nuclei. These are attributable to a change in the collective electrostatic self-energy of the plasma system during nuclear reactions. Plasma corrections for the hydrogen-cycle nuclear reactions are numerically calculated for the temperature, density, and abundances in the solar interior.  相似文献

The closed-form expressions for the Rayleigh range zR and the M2-factor of truncated laser beams with amplitude modulations (AMs) and phase fluctuations (PFs) in turbulence are derived, and the beam quality is studied by taking the zR and the M2-factor as the characteristic parameters of beam quality. The M2-factor of truncated laser beams with AMs and PFs is always larger than that of truncated Gaussian beams both in free space and in turbulence. However, in turbulence the beam quality of truncated laser beams with AMs and PFs may be better than that of truncated Gaussian beams if the zR is taken as the characteristic parameter of beam quality. For laser beams with AMs and PFs in turbulence, the beam quality expressed in terms of zR is consistent with that in terms of the M2-factor versus the phase fluctuation parameter α, but not versus the intensity modulation parameter σA. The beam quality of truncated laser beams with AMs and PFs is less sensitive to turbulence than that of truncated Gaussian beams. The beam quality of laser beams with smaller α and larger σA is less affected by turbulence than those with larger α and smaller σA.  相似文献
