The nuclear spectroscopic quadrupole moments for the πh9/25/2-, 1/2-[541] and the πh11/29/2-, 9/2-[514] isomeric states in 169Ta have been measured employing the time differential perturbed angular-distribution technique following the nuclear reaction 159Tb(16O, 6nγ)169Ta at beam energy 104 MeV. The ratio of the intrinsic quadrupole moments has been derived as 1.87(13) from the measured quadrupole precession frequencies of the corresponding states. The model-independent analysis of the equilibrium deformation indicates strong prolate- and oblate-driving nature of the 1/2-[541] and 9/2-[514] orbitals in 169,171Ta isotopes, respectively.  相似文献

The electromagnetic radiation emitted by colliding beams is expected to play an important role at the next generation of high energy e+e- linear colliders. Focussing on the simplest process, e+e-→μ+μ-, we show that, for suitable machine parameters and luminosity, radiative effects like initial state radiation (ISR) and beamstrahlung can be used to search for resonant graviton modes of the Randall–Sundrum model in an efficient manner.  相似文献

From 208Pb (p, p’) via isobaric analog resonances in 209Bi , at E x = 6420 keV in the doubly magic nucleus 208Pb , a new state with spin 2- with half the s 1/2 p 3/2 strength and major g 7/2 f 5/2 , d 3/2 f 5/2 fractions is identified. Ten more 2- states up to E x = 7.0 MeV are identified and their structure discussed, among them six states with new spin assignments. The known 6314 1- state is shown to contain almost the entire s 1/2 p 3/2 strength.  相似文献

The configuration-dependent cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky approach has been employed to study the properties and band structures at high spin in the Z = N odd-odd nuclei 46V and 50Mn. The observed bands are explained and terminating states are confirmed by the calculations. The calculated and observed bands are in good agreement without normalization, especially for terminating states. Possible bands with rotation around the intermediate axis and the effect of γ-deformation on the total energy of several interesting configurations are discussed. Detailed theoretical calculations of the properties of the neutron-excess odd-odd nucleus 134Sb are performed by using different theoretical approaches. A comprehensive comparison with the recent experimental data is performed; this comparison suggests the presence of isomeric states among the low-lying levels of this nucleus. These states are the twins of the corresponding levels of the odd-odd nucleus 210Bi that is situated near the stability line. The obtained results manifest the similarity of nuclear structure in the region of the “remote” doubly magic nucleus 132Sn and in the region of the classical stable doubly magic nucleus 208Pb. Standard model (SM) CP asymmetries in B→Kℓ+- are expected to be very small. This feature could help in the understanding of new physics scenarios which predict the existence of CP odd phases in various Wilson coefficients. In this paper we have analyzed the B→Kℓ+- decay in scenarios beyond the SM where the Wilson coefficients have new CP odd phases. The pygmy-resonance parameters and the E1 strength function are derived for 208Pb using a fully self-consistent microscopic formalism recently developed for magic nuclei, which takes into account quasiparticle phonon interactions (or coupling to phonons) in addition to the random phase approximation. For the radiative strength function of 208Pb at energies above 5 MeV, the experimental data of the Oslo group are adequately described by our predictions, whereby the important role of coupling to phonons is confirmed. By comparing the measurements based on the (3He, 3He′γ) and (γ, γ′) reactions, we discuss the physical properties of the radiative strength function measured for 208Pb. For the neutron-rich 70Ni nucleus, predictions for the radiative strength function and the pygmy resonance are obtained using a partially self-consistent approach, which invokes the Skyrme forces in deriving the mean field, effective nucleon–nucleon interaction, and phonon characteristics.  相似文献

We present the elastic scattering of the 6He+208Pb and the 6He+197Au systems at the laboratory energy of E lab=27 MeV within the framework of the McIntyre parametrization, and systematically investigate χ 2/N analysis of both systems to obtain an excellent agreement between the theoretical results and the experimental data. We find large diffusivity parameters indicating long range absorption mechanisms. We also show that both systems lack both the nuclear and the Coulomb rainbow scattering for obtained S-matrix parameters.  相似文献

We reconsider QED radiative corrections (RC) to the π0→e+e- decay width. One kind of RC investigated earlier has a renormalization group origin and can be associated with the final state interaction of electron and positron. It determines the distribution of lepton pair invariant masses in the whole kinematic region. The other type of RC has a double-logarithmic character and is related to almost on-mass-shell behavior of the lepton form factors. The total effect of RC for π0→e+e- decay is estimated to be 3.2%, and for η→e+e- decay it is 4.3%. PACS  13.25.Cq; 12.38.Lg; 12.38.-t  相似文献

The low-energy nuclear structure and decay properties of the neutron-deficient isotopes 195At and 191Bi have been studied. 195At was produced in the reaction 142Nd(56Fe,p2n)195At and 191Bi as the daughter activity of 195At. The activities were implanted in a position-sensitive silicon detector after being separated from the primary beam by a gas-filled recoil separator. The 1/2+ intruder state was determined to be the ground state in 195At with an alpha-decay energy of E α = 6953(3) keV and a half-life T 1/2 = 328(20) ms. Another state with an alpha-decay energy E α = 7075(4) keV and a half-life T 1/2 = 147(5) ms was found to decay to a 148.7(5) keV excited state in 191Bi for which a spin and parity of 7/2- were deduced. Consequently, the same 7/2- character was assigned to the initial state at 32(7) keV in 195At on the basis of unhindered alpha-decay. The 9/2- state, being the ground state in heavier odd-mass astatine isotopes, was not observed. The spectra of neutrons from the (p, n) reactions on the 208Pb and 209Bi nuclei were measured in the proton-energy range 8–11 MeV. These measurements were performed by using a time-of-flight spectrometer of fast neutrons on the basis of the pulsed tandem accelerator EGP-15 of the Institute of Physics and Power Engineering (Obninsk, Russian Federation). A high resolution and stability of the time-of-flight spectrometermade it possible to identify reliably low-lying discrete levels alongwith the continuum section of the neutron spectra. The measured data were analyzed on the basis of the statistical equilibrium and preequilibrium models of nuclear reactions. The respective calculations were performed by using the precise formalism of Hauser-Feshbach statistical theory together with the generalizedmodel of a superfluid nucleus and the back-shifted Fermi gas model for the nuclear-level density. The nuclear-level densities in 208Bi and 209Po were determined along with their energy dependences and model parameters. Our results are discussed together with available experimental data and recommendations of model systematics.  相似文献

We present predictions for the K-α scattering length obtained within the framework of the multiple-scattering approach. Evaluating the pole position of the K-α scattering amplitude within the zero-range approximation, we find a loosely bound K-α state with a binding energy of ER = - 2,..., - 7 MeV and a width ΓR = 11,..., 18 MeV. We propose to measure the K-α scattering length through the final-state interaction between the α and K--meson produced in the reaction dd↦αK+K-. It is found that the K-α invariant-mass distribution from this reaction at energies near the threshold provides a new tool to determine the s-wave K-α scattering length.  相似文献

The results obtained by estimating the contribution of 8Be and 9B nuclei to the coherent dissociation of 10C, 10B, and 12C relativistic nuclei in nuclear track emulsions (“white” stars) are presented. The selection of white stars accompanied by 9B leads to a distinct peak appearing in the distribution of the excitation energy of 2α2p ensembles and having a maximum at 4.1 ± 0.3 MeV. A 8Be nucleus manifests itself in the coherent-dissociation reaction 10B → 2He + H with a probability of (25 ± 5)%, (14 ± 3)% of it being due to 9B decays. The ratio of the branching fractions of the 9B + n and 9Be + p mirror channels is estimated at 6 ± 1. An analysis of the relativistic dissociation of 12C nuclei in a nuclear track emulsion revealed nine 3α events corresponding to the Hoyle state.  相似文献

DELPHI data collected at centre-of-mass energies up to 208 GeV have been analysed to search for charginos, neutralinos and sfermions in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with R-parity conservation. No evidence for a signal was found in any of the channels. The results of each search were used to derive limits on production cross-sections and particle masses. In addition, the combined result of all searches excludes regions in the parameter space of the constrained MSSM, leading to limits on the mass of the Lightest Supersymmetric Particle and other supersymmetric particles.Received: 22 February 2003, Revised: 24 July 2003, Published online: 12 November 2003  相似文献

A possible dependence of the alpha decay process on the solid-state environment of the decaying nucleus has been investigated by measuring the alpha-decay half-life of 221Fr at room temperature in different materials ( Au, W, Si and polyethylene). The change in half-life between the insulator Si and the metals Au/ W is found to be 0.30(17)% / 0.42(21)%, respectivly. Furthermore an improved value of 4.79(2)min was found for the absolute half-life of 221Fr.  相似文献
