The biggest challenge in MANETs is to find most efficient routing due to the changing topology and energy constrained battery operated computing devices. It has been found that Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is a special kind of optimization technique having characterization of Swarm Intelligence (SI) which is highly suitable for finding the adaptive routing for such a type of volatile network. The proposed ACO routing algorithm uses position information and energy parameters as a routing metric to improve the performance and lifetime of network. Typical routing protocols have fixed transmission power irrespective of the distance between the nodes. Considering limiting factors, like small size, limited computational power and energy source, the proposed solution excludes use of GPS for identifying the distance between nodes for indoor MANETs. The distance between nodes can be determined by using Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurements. Thus, an intelligent ACO routing algorithm with location information and energy metric is developed to adaptively adjust the transmission power and distribute the load to avoid critical nodes. Proposed Autonomous Localization based Eligible Energetic Path_with_Ant Colony Optimization (ALEEP_with_ACO) algorithm ensures that nodes in the network are not drained out of the energy beyond their threshold, as the load is shared with other nodes, when the energy of a node in the shortest path has reached its threshold. Hence, the total energy expenditure is reduced, thus prolonging the lifetime of network devices and the network. We simulated our proposal and compared it with the classical approach of AODV and other biological routing approaches. The results achieved show that ALEEP_with_ACO presents the best Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), throughput and less packet drop specially under high mobility scenarios.  相似文献

In telecommunication networks packets are carried from a source s to a destination t on a path that is determined by the underlying routing protocol. Most routing protocols belong to the class of shortest path routing protocols. In such protocols, the network operator assigns a length to each link. A packet going from s to t follows a shortest path according to these lengths. For better protection and efficiency, one wishes to use multiple (shortest) paths between two nodes. Therefore the routing protocol must determine how the traffic from s to t is distributed among the shortest paths. In the protocol called OSPF-ECMP (for Open Shortest Path First-Equal Cost Multiple Path) the traffic incoming at every node is uniformly balanced on all outgoing links that are on shortest paths. In that context, the operator task is to determine the “best” link lengths, toward a goal such as maximizing the network throughput for given link capacities.In this work, we show that the problem of maximizing even a single commodity flow for the OSPF-ECMP protocol cannot be approximated within any constant factor ratio. Besides this main theorem, we derive some positive results which include polynomial-time approximations and an exponential-time exact algorithm. We also prove that despite their weakness, our approximation and exact algorithms are, in a sense, the best possible.  相似文献

研究了基于交通流的多模糊时间窗车辆路径问题,考虑了实际中不断变化的交通流以及客户具有多个模糊时间窗的情况,以最小化配送总成本和最大化客户满意度为目标,构建基于交通流的多模糊时间窗车辆路径模型。根据伊藤算法的基本原理,设计了求解该模型的改进伊藤算法,结合仿真算例进行了模拟计算,并与蚁群算法的计算结果进行了对比分析,结果表明,利用改进伊藤算法求解基于交通流的多模糊时间窗车辆路径问题,迭代次数小,效率更高,能够在较短的时间内收敛到全局最优解,可以有效的求解多模糊时间窗车辆路径问题。  相似文献

Aiming at constructing a delay and delay variation bounded Steiner tree in the real-time streaming media communication, in this paper, we discuss a multicast routing algorithm based on searching a directed graph (MRASDH). During the process of the construction of the multicast tree, some nodes and links in the network topology do not affect the outcome of the constructed tree. Therefore, based on the thought of shrinking the search space through deleting these non-relative nodes and edges to the utmost, the ant algorithm is utilized to generate a directed sub-graph of the network topology for each destination node, in which each node owns a bounded out-degree. And all these sub-graphs can be merged into a new directed graph that serves as the new search space. In the new space, the simulated annealing algorithm is applied to obtain a multicast tree that satisfies the condition for the optimization. The performance analysis and simulation results demonstrate that this algorithm can effectively construct a delay and delay variation bounded multicast tree. They also show that the algorithm have lower time complexity than the current ones, which means a much better result would be achieved when the system scale rises greatly.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the problem of sending a set of multiple commodities from their origin to destination nodes via intermediate hubs. Each hub node is associated with a reliability function, which depends on the total flow that crosses that hub. The probability that each commodity is successfully relayed from its origin to its destination is given by the product of hub reliabilities on the commodity’s path. The problem we consider seeks to find minimum-cost commodity paths such that each commodity reaches its destination with a sufficiently large probability. We first formulate the problem as a nonlinear multicommodity network-flow problem and prove that it is strongly NP-hard. We then present two linearization techniques for this formulation, and propose a pair of lower- and upper-bounding formulations, which can then be used within an exact cutting-plane algorithm to solve the problem. Finally, we analyze the computational effectiveness of our proposed strategies on a set of randomly generated instances.  相似文献

We present a distributed algorithm for bandwidth allocation for content distribution in tree networks, where the intensive computations are executed independently at the nodes while some information is exchanged among the nodes. The root node has a server that stores and broadcasts multiple programs requested at the nodes through links with limited capacity. The bandwidth allocated for a specific program can be decreased from one link to the next in a path from the root node to an end-node, but it cannot be increased. The objective is to determine equitable bandwidth allocations among all programs across all links, which leads to a formulation of a lexicographic maximin optimization model. The performance function at each of the nodes for a specific program represents customers’ satisfaction as a function of the incoming bandwidth into the node. The distributed algorithm that determines the equitable bandwidth allocations extends the algorithm described in Luss (2010).  相似文献

In this paper we present a two-stage stochastic mixed 0–1 dynamic multicommodity model and algorithm for determining the enrouting protocol in the telecommunications network under uncertainty. Given the network connectivity, node processing and buffer and arc flow capacity, the aim is to determine the outgoing arc for the information flow reaching a given node for each destination terminal node (i.e., obtaining the route to be followed by the information flow from each origin terminal node to each destination terminal node). The origin–destination (O–D) flow matrix is given by the number of information packets to be sent from the origin terminal nodes to the destination terminal nodes along a given time horizon, i.e., a call scale. The uncertainty in the O–D flow matrix is treated via a scenario tree approach. The main goal is to minimize a composite function of the expected lost information, a penalization of the deviation from the FIFO strategy on the information flow entering the network, and the expected number of nodes visited by the information packets. A mixture of an enrouting arc generation scheme and a genetic algorithm for obtaining the enrouting protocols over the scenarios is presented. The tool presented in this paper could be used for simulating the enrouting protocols to analyze the saturation of the network, but it has a time constraint for real time operation. Faster algorithms are needed to define the routing tables during the operation stage. Computational experience is reported.  相似文献

In this paper, we study allocation strategies and their effects on total routing costs in hub networks. Given a set of nodes with pairwise traffic demands, the p-hub median problem is the problem of choosing p nodes as hub locations and routing traffic through these hubs at minimum cost. This problem has two versions; in single allocation problems, each node can send and receive traffic through a single hub, whereas in multiple allocation problems, there is no such restriction and a node may send and receive its traffic through all p hubs. This results in high fixed costs and complicated networks. In this study, we introduce the r-allocation p-hub median problem, where each node can be connected to at most r hubs. This new problem generalizes the two versions of the p-hub median problem. We derive mixed-integer programming formulations for this problem and perform a computational study using well-known datasets. For these datasets, we conclude that single allocation solutions are considerably more expensive than multiple allocation solutions, but significant savings can be achieved by allowing nodes to be allocated to two or three hubs rather than one. We also present models for variations of this problem with service quality considerations, flow thresholds, and non-stop service.  相似文献

The user equilibrium traffic assignment principle is very important in the traffic assignment problem. Mathematical programming models are designed to solve the user equilibrium problem in traditional algorithms. Recently, the Physarum shows the ability to address the user equilibrium and system optimization traffic assignment problems. However, the Physarum model are not efficient in real traffic networks with two-way traffic characteristics and multiple origin–destination pairs. In this article, a modified Physarum-inspired model for the user equilibrium problem is proposed. By decomposing traffic flux based on origin nodes, the traffic flux from different origin–destination pairs can be distinguished in the proposed model. The Physarum can obtain the equilibrium traffic flux when no shorter path can be discovered between each origin–destination pair. Finally, numerical examples demonstrate the rationality and convergence properties of the proposed model.  相似文献

A new nonmonotone algorithm is proposed and analyzed for unconstrained nonlinear optimization. The nonmonotone techniques applied in this algorithm are based on the estimate sequence proposed by Nesterov (Introductory Lectures on Convex Optimization: A Basic Course, 2004) for convex optimization. Under proper assumptions, global convergence of this algorithm is established for minimizing general nonlinear objective function with Lipschitz continuous derivatives. For convex objective function, this algorithm maintains the optimal convergence rate of convex optimization. In numerical experiments, this algorithm is specified by employing safe-guarded nonlinear conjugate gradient search directions. Numerical results show the nonmonotone algorithm performs significantly better than the corresponding monotone algorithm for solving the unconstrained optimization problems in the CUTEr (Bongartz et al. in ACM Trans. Math. Softw. 21:123–160, 1995) library.  相似文献

In this paper we address the Min-Power Broadcast problem in wireless ad hoc networks. Given a network with an identified source node w, the Min-Power Broadcast (MPB) problem is to assign transmission range to each node such that communication from w to other nodes is possible and the total energy consumption is minimized.

As the problem is NP-Hard we first propose a simulated annealing algorithm for the MPB problem. Utilizing a special node selection mechanism in its neighborhood structure the algorithm is designed in a way enabling an efficient power consumption evaluation and search for neighboring solutions. We then combine the algorithm with a decomposition approach to enhance its performance. This is achieved by decomposing the master problem and performing metropolis chain of the simulated annealing only on the much smaller subproblems resulting from decomposition. Results from a comprehensive computational study indicate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, we transform an unconstrained system of nonlinear equations into a special optimization problem. A new filled function is constructed by employing the special properties of the transformed optimization problem. Theoretical and numerical properties of the proposed filled function are investigated and a solution of the algorithm is proposed. Under some conditions, we can find a solution or an approximate solution to the system of nonlinear equations in finite iterations. The implementation of the algorithm on six test problems is reported with satisfactory numerical results.  相似文献

The Minimum Power Multicast Problem arises in wireless sensor networks and consists in assigning a transmission power to each node of a network in such a way that the total power consumption over the network is minimized, while a source node is connected to a set of destination nodes, toward which a message has to be sent periodically. A new mixed integer programming model for the problem, based on paths, is presented. A practical exact algorithm based on column generation and branch and price is derived from this model. A comparison with state-of-the-art exact methods is presented, and it is shown that the new approach compares favorably to other algorithms when the number of destination nodes is moderate. Under this condition, the proposed method is able to solve previously unmanageable instances.  相似文献

This paper addresses blind source separation (BSS) problem when source signals have the temporal structure with nonlinear autocorrelation. Using the temporal characteristics of sources, we develop an objective function based on the nonlinear autocorrelation of sources. Maximizing the objective function, we propose a fixed-point source separation algorithm. Furthermore, we give some mathematical properties of the algorithm. Computer simulations for sources with square temporal autocorrelation and the real-world applications in the analysis of the magnetoencephalographic recordings (MEG) illustrate the efficiency of the proposed approach. Thus, the presented BSS algorithm, which is based on the nonlinear measure of temporal autocorrelation, provides a novel statistical property to perform BSS.  相似文献

Blocking in queueing network models with finite capacities can lead to deadlock situations. In this paper, deadlock properties are investigated in queueing networks with multiple routing chains. The necessary and sufficient conditions for deadlockfree queueing networks with blocking are provided. An optimization algorithm is presented for finding deadlock-free capacity assignments with the least total capacity. The optimization algorithm maps the queueing network into a directed graph and obtains the deadlock freedom conditions from a specified subset of cycles in the directed graph. In certain network topologies, the number of deadlock freedom conditions can be large, thus, making any optimization computationally expensive. For a special class of topologies, so-calledtandem networks, it is shown that a minimal capacity assignment can be directly obtained without running an optimization algorithm. Here, the solution to the minimal capacity assignment takes advantage of the regular topology of tandem networks.This work was supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. CCR-90-11981.  相似文献

罚函数方法是将约束优化问题转化为无约束优化问题的主要方法之一. 不包含目标函数和约束函数梯度信息的罚函数, 称为简单罚函数. 对传统精确罚函数而言, 如果它是简单的就一定是非光滑的; 如果它是光滑的, 就一定不是简单的. 针对等式约束优化问题, 提出一类新的简单罚函数, 该罚函数通过增加一个新的变量来控制罚项. 证明了此罚函数的光滑性和精确性, 并给出了一种解决等式约束优化问题的罚函数算法. 数值结果表明, 该算法对于求解等式约束优化问题是可行的.  相似文献
