A diode-pumped, Q-switched Nd:YAG laser employing a dual-pump zig-zag slab head scheme in an unstable resonator configuration for use in space-based planetary altimetry or atmospheric LIDAR is described. The pump heads are aligned orthogonally to each other, producing a symmetric overall thermal lens that eliminates the need for an intracavity cylindrical lens and aperture. This laser has demonstrated over 100 mJ in Q-switched operation with high optical efficiency (24%), good beam quality, high pointing stability, and large operational margins for multi-billion shot lifetimes. 相似文献

报道了双Nd:YAG棒串接V型折叠腔腔内KTP和频全固态黄光激光器,得到了3 W连续波589 nm黄光输出.为了提高黄光输出功率,采用了两种手段:一是通过优化腔型设计使得两束基频在腔内达到了最佳的空间重合,二是通过选择合适大小的二极管激光器的抽运功率使得两束基频在腔内达到了最佳的功率配比.

The high efficient laser performance of self-Q-switched laser in the co-doped Cr4+,Nd3+:YAG microchip with 1.8 mm thickness was demonstrated. The slope efficiency is varied with the reflectivity of output coupler at 1064 nm, and the highest slope efficiency of 26% was obtained for 95% reflectivity of output coupler at 1064 nm. The pulse width, the single pulse energy and the pulse repetition rate for different reflectivity of the output couplers were measured, and the experimental results agree with the numerical calculations of the passively Q-switched rate equations. This can lead to develop the diode laser pumped monolithic self-Q-switched solid-state microchip lasers, especially for the intracavity frequency-doubled solid-state microchip lasers. 相似文献

This paper presents a Nd : YAG laser operating in free running (FR) regime, with a pulse duration (20 μs) shorter than conventional systems (>200 μs), mainly developed for applications in laser cleaning of stones, especially for the restoration of cultural heritage. The system was also optimized to achieve high energy and low divergence, for easy coupling with optical fibers. The unusual pulse temporal regime induces a spiky behavior of the laser output which could also help in the application. Details on the technologies for the flashlamps power supplies, including the discharge circuits needed to achieve the short pulses, are given. Application trials on artworks and artificial samples are also discussed. Results show that the intermediate pulse duration avoids the mechanical damage induced by the photomechanical effect of Q-switch lasers and the thermal damage, as superficial melting, usually induced by long pulse FR lasers. 相似文献

This paper reports on the characterization of a diode-side-pumped CW Nd:YAG laser. A side-pumped configuration with 9 laser diodes is used for the laser. Pump light is directly coupled into the Nd:YAG rod without focusing lenses and the pump light distribution in the Nd:YAG rod was calculated. A maximum output power of 150 W in multimode operation is obtained for a pumping power of 400 W. The optical–optical efficiency is 37%. Output power of the laser under different output couplers, resonator lengths and temperatures of the cooling water have been studied. 相似文献

We successfully obtain high-average-power high-stability Q-switched green laser based on diode-side-pumped composite ceramic Nd:YAG in a straight plano-concave cavity. The temperature distribution in composite ceramic Nd:YAG crystal is numerically analyzed and compared with that of conventional Nd:YAG crystal. By use of a composite ceramic Nd:YAG rod and a type-II high gray track resistance KTP (HGTR-KTP) crystal, a green laser with an average output power of 165 W is obtained at a repetition rate of 25 kHz, with a diode-to-green optical conversion of 14.68%, and a pulse width of 162 ns. To the best of our knowledge, both the output power and optical-to-optical efficiency are the highest values for green laser systems with intracavity frequency doubling of this novel composite ceramic Nd:YAG laser to date. The power fluctuation at around 160 W is lower than 0.3% in 2.5 hours. 相似文献

This paper reports on the characterization and analysis of a novel high power with double acousto-optical (AO) Q-switch pulse laser. It is shown that two AO Q-switches, in which acousto-fields are perpendicular to each other, switch-loss is nearly three times larger than one AO Q-switch, one time larger than the two AO Q-switches in which acousto-field are parallel. The laser pulse bursts, with 5–50 kHz repetition rate of the burst, typically 200 ns duration, 400 kW the peak power, 5 mm mrad beam parameter product, are obtained. 对基于非准直外腔的单频激光高阶回馈现象及产生机理进行了研究,获得了调制幅度不均匀的高分辨率多重高阶回馈条纹,分析了多重高阶回馈条纹的特点及产生机制。提出采用基于光路阻挡的实验方法,在回馈镜反射率大于90%的强回馈中,发现了单重高阶回馈效应,获得了调制幅度均匀、无大包络的高分辨率单重高阶回馈条纹,其分辨率达到/10,而且还有进一步提高的潜力。单重高阶回馈条纹不但具有多重高阶回馈时高分辨率的优点,还具有传统弱回馈时调制幅度均匀、类正弦等特性,对进一步研制高精度回馈测量系统具有重要意义。 相似文献

We report on a scheme for efficient acousto-optical Q-switching. A flash lamp pumped Nd:YAG oscillator with an acousto-optic modulator (AOM) fourfold pass configuration is presented. The setup combines two important advantages: enhancement of the diffraction efficiency by additional AOM passes and a compact oscillator design in spite of an extension of the optical path length. A flash lamp pumped oscillator with an average output power of 7 W and a beam quality of M2 = 1.2 is developed. The system operates with a 100 Hz repetition rate for the flash lamps. In each pumping pulse a pulse train of 1 up to 40 Q-switched laser pulses is generated. The pulse duration is from 15 to 120 ns. In comparison to a former setup (AOM double pass) the AOM fourfold pass configuration allows single pulses with energy above 20 mJ and a pulse peak power of more than 1 MW. In addition, the beam profile is improved due to a better separation of the incident and diffracted beam caused by the AOM. The laser is dedicated as master oscillator in a master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) system where pulse peak powers in the MW range should be achieved. 相似文献
