Oscillation theorem for higher-order linear differential equations with periodic coefficients

In this paper, the zeros of solutions for higher-order linear differential equations with periodic coefficients are studied. It is shown that under certain hypotheses, the convergence exponent of zeros of the product of every fundamental solution is infinite.     

Tauberian conditions with controlled oscillatory behavior

Let (u_n) be a sequence of real numbers. In this paper, we give new Tauberian conditions imposed on the general control modulo of the oscillatory behavior of integer order m≥1 of a sequence (u_n), under which, convergence follows from the Abel summability. These are generalizations of some of the well-known classical Tauberian conditions.

二阶线性微分方程复振荡的若干结果

本文给出了方程（１１）具有一个（或两个线性无关）解其零点收敛指数小于（或不小于）Ａ（ｚ）的增长级的必要条件（或充分条件）．我们得到了４个定理并且推广了Ｉ．Ｌａｉｎｅ的两个结果，我们还证明了如果Ａ（ｚ）是无穷级的整函数，则方程（１．１）的任两线性无关解或者无零点或者至少有一解其零点收敛指数为无穷．

In this paper,the zeros of solutions of periodic second order linear differential equation y ＋ Ay = 0,where A（z） = B（e z ）,B（ζ） = g（ζ） ＋ p j=1 b ？j ζ ？j ,g（ζ） is a transcendental entire function of lower order no more than 1/2,and p is an odd positive integer,are studied.It is shown that every non-trivial solution of above equation satisfies the exponent of convergence of zeros equals to infinity.

The almost sure behavior of the oscillation modulus for PL-process and cumulative hazard process under random censorship

The local behavior of oscillation modulus of the product-limit (PL) process and the cumulative hazard process is investigated when the data are subjected to random censoring. Laws of the iterated logarithm of local oscillation modulus for the PL-process and the cumulative hazard process are established. Some of these results are applied to obtain the almost sure best rates of convergence for various types of density estimators as well as the Bahadur-Kiefer type process. Two timescales asymptotes of the weakly compressible Stokes system

We establish a two timescale asymptotics of the weakly compressible Stokes system which has dissipation of order $\epsilon >0$. For any $L^2$ initial data, over time scale of order 1, the solutions of the weakly compressible Stokes system converge strongly to those of the acoustic system as $\epsilon \to 0$. Over time scale of order $1/\epsilon$, the limit system is the incompressible Stokes system with the initial data projected on the incompressible mode. For the periodic domain, the convergence is weak due to the fast oscillation generated by acoustic waves. For the Navier-slip boundary condition with the reciprocal of slip length being square of the Knudsen number, the acoustic waves are damped by the viscous boundary layer, and consequently the strong convergence is justified.     

Oscillation and variation for singular integrals in higher dimensions

In this paper we continue our investigations of square function inequalities in harmonic analysis. Here we investigate oscillation and variation inequalities for singular integral operators in dimensions . Our estimates give quantitative information on the speed of convergence of truncations of a singular integral operator, including upcrossing and jump inequalities.

     

Oscillation criteria of a class of fourth order differential equations

In the present paper, we consider the oscillation of a class of self‐adjoint fourth order differential equation. Some oscillation and non‐oscillation criteria on a perturbation equation of Euler differential equation are given. In particular, we find the exact value of a constant in some oscillation criteria, which has answered the open problem presented by Do?lý in 2004. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.     

Problems with one quarter

In this paper two sequences of oscillation criteria for the self-adjoint second order differential equation (r(t)u(t)) + p(t)u(t) = 0 are derived. On the convergence of uncertain sequences

Uncertain variables are measurable functions from uncertainty spaces to the set of real numbers. In this paper, a new kind of convergence, convergence uniformly almost surely (convergence uniformly a.s.), is presented. Then, relations between convergence uniformly almost surely and convergence almost surely (convergence a.s.), convergence in measure, convergence in mean, and convergence in distribution are discussed.
