We classify, up to PI-equivalence, the superalgebras over a field of characteristic zero whose sequence of codimensions is linearly bounded. As a consequence we determine the linear functions describing the graded codimensions of a superalgebra.  相似文献

We study associative algebras with 1 endowed with an automorphism or antiautomorphism φ of order 2, i.e., superalgebras and algebras with involution. For any fixed k≥1, we construct associative φ-algebras whose φ-codimension sequence is given asymptotically by a polynomial of degree k whose leading coefficient is the largest or smallest possible.  相似文献

The exponent of a variety of algebras over a field of characteristic zero has been recently proved to be an integer. Through this scale we can now classify all minimal varieties of given exponent and of finite basic rank. As a consequence, we describe the corresponding T-ideals of the free algebra and we compute the asymptotics of the related codimension sequences, verifying in this setting some known conjectures. We also show that the number of these minimal varieties is finite for any given exponent. We finally point out some relations between the exponent of a variety and the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of the corresponding relatively free algebras of finite rank.  相似文献

A non-nilpotent variety of algebras is almost nilpotent if any proper subvariety is nilpotent. Let the base field be of characteristic zero. It has been shown that for associative or Lie algebras only one such variety exists. Here we present infinite families of such varieties. More precisely we shall prove the existence of1) a countable family of almost nilpotent varieties of at most linear growth and2) an uncountable family of almost nilpotent varieties of at most quadratic growth.  相似文献

I.N. Herstein proved that if R is a prime ring satisfying a differential identity , with d a nonzero derivation of R, then R embeds isomorphically in M2(F) for F a field. We consider a natural generalization of this result for the class of polynomials En(X)=[En-1(x1,…,xn-1),xn]. Using matrix computations, we prove that if R satisfies a differential identity , or with some restrictions, then R must embed in M2(F), but that differential identities using [[En,Em],Es] with m,n,s>1 need not force R to embed in M2(F). These results hold if the expressions are identities for a noncommutative Lie ideal of R, rather than for R itself.  相似文献

Let A be an algebra over a field F of characteristic zero and let cn(A), , be its sequence of codimensions. We prove that if cn(A) is exponentially bounded, its exponential growth can be any real number >1. This is achieved by constructing, for any real number α>1, an F-algebra Aα such that exists and equals α. We show that a map in several variables on a prime ring satisfying an identity of polynomial type must be a quasi-polynomial (i.e., a polynomial in noncommutative variables whose coefficients are Martindale centroid valued functions)provided that the ring does not satisfy a standard identity of low degree. Obtained results have applications to the study of Lie maps of prime rings (Lie ideals of prime rings and skew elements of prime rings with involution)and to the study of Lie-admissible algebras and Lie homomorphisms of Lie algebras of Poisson algebras.  相似文献

To any cleft Hopf Galois object, i.e., any algebra obtained from a Hopf algebra H by twisting its multiplication with a two-cocycle α, we attach two “universal algebras” and . The algebra is obtained by twisting the multiplication of H with the most general two-cocycle σ formally cohomologous to α. The cocycle σ takes values in the field of rational functions on H. By construction, is a cleft H-Galois extension of a “big” commutative algebra . Any “form” of can be obtained from by a specialization of and vice versa. If the algebra is simple, then is an Azumaya algebra with center . The algebra is constructed using a general theory of polynomial identities that we set up for arbitrary comodule algebras; it is the universal comodule algebra in which all comodule algebra identities of are satisfied. We construct an embedding of into ; this embedding maps the center of into when the algebra is simple. In this case, under an additional assumption, , thus turning into a central localization of . Meson algebras are involved in the wave equation of meson particles in the same way as Clifford algebras are involved in the Dirac wave equation of electrons. Here we improve and generalize the information already obtained about their structure and their representations, when the symmetric bilinear form under consideration is nondegenerate. We emphasize their parity grading. We calculate the center of these meson algebras, and the center of their even subalgebra. Finally we show that every nondegenerate meson algebra over a field contains a group isomorphic to the group of automorphisms of the symmetric bilinear form.   相似文献

Let G be the infinite dimensional Grassmann algebra over a field F of characteristic zero and UT 2 the algebra of 2 × 2 upper triangular matrices over F. The relevance of these algebras in PI-theory relies on the fact that they generate the only two varieties of almost polynomial growth, i.e., they grow exponentially but any proper subvariety grows polynomially. In this paper we completely classify, up to PI-equivalence, the associative algebras A such that A ∈ Var(G) or A ∈ Var(UT 2).  相似文献

In this paper we construct non-negative gradings on a basic Brauer tree algebra AΓ corresponding to an arbitrary Brauer tree Γ of type (m,e). We do this by transferring gradings via derived equivalence from a basic Brauer tree algebra AS, whose tree is a star with the exceptional vertex in the middle, to AΓ. The grading on AS comes from the tight grading given by the radical filtration. To transfer gradings via derived equivalence we use tilting complexes constructed by taking Green’s walk around Γ (cf. Schaps and Zakay-Illouz (2001) [17]). By computing endomorphism rings of these tilting complexes we get graded algebras.We also compute , the group of outer automorphisms that fix the isomorphism classes of simple AΓ-modules, where Γ is an arbitrary Brauer tree, and we prove that there is unique grading on AΓ up to graded Morita equivalence and rescaling.  相似文献

We prove a strict relation between the Gelfand–Kirillov (GK) dimension of the relatively free (graded) algebra of a PI-algebra and its (graded) exponent. As a consequence we show a Bahturin–Zaicev type result relating the GK dimension of the relatively free algebra of a graded PI-algebra and the one of its neutral part. We also get that the growth of the relatively free graded algebra of a matrix algebra is maximal when the grading is fine. Finally we compute the graded GK dimension of the matrix algebra with any grading and the graded GK dimension of any verbally prime algebra endowed with an elementary grading.  相似文献

In this paper, we use integer programming (IP) to compute minimal forecast horizons for the classical dynamic lot-sizing problem (DLS). As a solution approach for computing forecast horizons, integer programming has been largely ignored by the research community. It is our belief that the modelling and structural advantages of the IP approach coupled with the recent significant developments in computational integer programming make for a strong case for its use in practice. We formulate some well-known sufficient conditions, and necessary and sufficient conditions (characterizations) for forecast horizons as feasibility/optimality questions in 0–1 mixed integer programs. An extensive computational study establishes the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

Let L be a restricted Lie algebra. The symmetric algebra Sp(L) of the restricted enveloping algebra u(L) has the structure of a Poisson algebra. We give necessary and sufficient conditions on L in order for the symmetric algebra Sp(L) to satisfy a multilinear Poisson identity.
