A recollement is a decomposition of a given category (abelian or triangulated) into two subcategories with functorial data that enables the glueing of structural information. This paper is dedicated to investigating the behaviour under glueing of some basic properties of abelian categories (well-poweredness, Grothendieck's axioms AB3, AB4 and AB5, existence of a generator) in the presence of a recollement. In particular, we observe that in a recollement of a Grothendieck abelian category the other two categories involved are also Grothendieck abelian and, more significantly, we provide an example where the converse does not hold and explore multiple sufficient conditions for it to hold.  相似文献

First, we show that a compact object C in a triangulated category, which satisfies suitable conditions, induces a t-structure. Second, in an abelian category we show that a complex P· of small projective objects of term length two, which satisfies suitable conditions, induces a torsion theory. In the case of module categories, using a torsion theory, we give equivalent conditions for P· to be a tilting complex. Finally, in the case of artin algebras, we give a one-to-one correspondence between tilting complexes of term length two and torsion theories with certain conditions.  相似文献

For the cluster category of a hereditary or a canonical algebra, or equivalently for the cluster category of the hereditary category of coherent sheaves on a weighted projective line, we study the Grothendieck group with respect to an admissible triangulated structure.  相似文献

We prove that the 2-category of small abelian categories with exact functors is anti-equivalent to the 2-category of definable additive categories. We define and compare sheaves of localisations associated to the objects of these categories. We investigate the natural image of the free abelian category over a ring in the module category over that ring and use this to describe a basis for the Ziegler topology on injectives; the last can be viewed model-theoretically as an elimination of imaginaries result.  相似文献

We compute the Grothendieck group of certain 2-Calabi-Yau triangulated categories appearing naturally in the study of the link between quiver representations and Fomin-Zelevinsky cluster algebras. In this setup, we also prove a generalization of the Fomin-Zelevinsky mutation rule.  相似文献

A general framework for cluster tilting is set up by showing that any quotient of a triangulated category modulo a tilting subcategory (i.e., a maximal 1-orthogonal subcategory) carries an induced abelian structure. These abelian quotients turn out to be module categories of Gorenstein algebras of dimension at most one.   相似文献

Gentle and Todorov proved that in an abelian category with enough projective objects, the extension subcategory of two covariantly finite subcategories is covariantly finite. We give an example to show that Gentle–Todorov’s theorem may fail in an arbitrary abelian category; however we prove a triangulated version of Gentle–Todorov’s theorem which holds for arbitrary triangulated categories; we apply Gentle–Todorov’s theorem to obtain short proofs of a classical result by Ringel and a recent result by Krause and Solberg. Extriangulated category was introduced by H.Nakaoka and Y.Palu to give a unification of properties in exact categories anjd triangulated categories.A notion of tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories in an extriangulated category is defined in this paper. We give a Bazzoni characterization of tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories and obtain an Auslander-Reiten correspondence between tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories and coresolving covariantly(resp.,resolving contravariantly)finite subcatgories which are closed under direct summands and satisfy some cogenerating(resp.,generating)conditions.Applications of the results are given:we show that tilting(resp.,cotilting)subcategories defined here unify many previous works about tilting modules(subcategories)in module categories of Artin algebras and in abelian categories admitting a cotorsion triples;we also show that the results work for the triangulated categories with a proper class of triangles introduced by A.Beligiannis.  相似文献

Following H. Krause [Decomposing thick subcategories of the stable module category, Math. Ann. 313 (1) (1999) 95-108], we prove Krull-Schmidt type decomposition theorems for thick subcategories of various triangulated categories including the derived categories of rings, Noetherian stable homotopy categories, stable module categories over Hopf algebras, and the stable homotopy category of spectra. In all these categories, it is shown that the thick ideals of small objects decompose uniquely into indecomposable thick ideals. We also discuss some consequences of these decomposition results. In particular, it is shown that all these decompositions respect K-theory.  相似文献

Let A be a graded algebra. It is shown that the derived category of dg modules over A (viewed as a dg algebra with trivial differential) is a triangulated hull of a certain orbit category of the derived category of graded A-modules. This is applied to study derived categories of graded gentle one-cycle algebras.  相似文献

We deal with the finite-dimensional mesh algebras given by stable translation quivers. These algebras are self-injective, and thus the stable module categories have a structure of triangulated categories. Our main result determines the Grothendieck groups of these stable module categories. As an application, we give a complete classification of the mesh algebras up to stable equivalences.  相似文献

We give a general construction of rings graded by the conjugacy classes of a finite group. Some examples of our construction are the Hochschild cohomology ring of a finite group algebra, the Grothendieck ring of the Drinfel'd double of a group, and the orbifold cohomology ring for a global quotient. We generalize the first two examples by deriving product formulas for the Hochschild cohomology ring of a group crossed product and for the Grothendieck ring of an abelian extension of Hopf algebras. Our results account for similarities in the product structures among these examples.  相似文献

As Spaltenstein showed, the category of unbounded complexes of sheaves on a topological space has enough K-injective complexes. We extend this result to the category of unbounded complexes of an arbitrary Grothendieck category. This is important for a construction, by the author, of a triangulated category of equivariant motives.  相似文献

An abelian category with arbitrary coproducts and a small projective generator is equivalent to a module category (Mitchell (1964) [17]). A tilting object in an abelian category is a natural generalization of a small projective generator. Moreover, any abelian category with a tilting object admits arbitrary coproducts (Colpi et al. (2007) [8]). It naturally arises the question when an abelian category with a tilting object is equivalent to a module category. By Colpi et al. (2007) [8], the problem simplifies in understanding when, given an associative ring R and a faithful torsion pair (X,Y) in the category of right R-modules, the heartH(X,Y)of the t-structure associated with (X,Y) is equivalent to a category of modules. In this paper, we give a complete answer to this question, proving necessary and sufficient conditions on (X,Y) for H(X,Y) to be equivalent to a module category. We analyze in detail the case when R is right artinian.  相似文献

In the paper of Keller and Reiten, it was shown that the quotient of a triangulated category (with some conditions) by a cluster tilting subcategory becomes an abelian category. After that, Koenig and Zhu showed in detail, how the abelian structure is given on this quotient category, in a more abstract setting. On the other hand, as is well known since 1980s, the heart of any t-structure is abelian. We unify these two constructions by using the notion of a cotorsion pair. To any cotorsion pair in a triangulated category, we can naturally associate an abelian category, which gives back each of the above two abelian categories, when the cotorsion pair comes from a cluster tilting subcategory, or a t-structure, respectively.  相似文献

We make a general study of Quillen model structures on abelian categories. We show that they are closely related to cotorsion pairs, which were introduced by Salce [Sal79] and have been much studied recently by Enochs and coauthors [EJ00]. This gives a method of constructing model structures on abelian categories, which we illustrate by building two model structures on the category of modules over a (possibly noncommutative) Gorenstein ring. The homotopy category of these model structures is a generalization of the stable module category much used in modular representation theory. This stable module category has also been studied by Benson [Ben97]. Received: 14 December 2000; in final form: 17 December 2001 / Published online: 5 September 2002  相似文献

This is a contribution to the theory of atoms in abelian categories recently developed in a series of papers by Kanda. We present a method that enables one to explicitly compute the atom spectrum of the module category over a wide range of non‐commutative rings. We illustrate our method and results by several examples.  相似文献

We develop the obstruction theory of the 2-category of abelian track categories, pseudofunctors and pseudonatural transformations by using the cohomology of categories. The obstructions are defined in Baues-Wirsching cohomology groups. We introduce translation cohomology to classify endomorphisms in the 2-category of abelian track categories. In a sequel to this paper we will show, under certain conditions which are satisfied by all homotopy categories, that a translation cohomology class determines the exact triangles of a triangulated category.  相似文献
