We develop some new aspects of cohomology in the context of semi-abelian categories: we establish a Hochschild-Serre 5-term exact sequence extending the classical one for groups and Lie algebras; we prove that an object is perfect if and only if it admits a universal central extension; we show how the second Barr-Beck cohomology group classifies isomorphism classes of central extensions; we prove a universal coefficient theorem to explain the relationship with homology.  相似文献

We prove that, as Gerstenhaber algebras, the Hochschild cohomology ring of the tensor product of two algebras is isomorphic to the tensor product of the respective Hochschild cohomology rings of these two algebras, when at least one of them is finite dimensional. In case of finite dimensional symmetric algebras, this isomorphism is an isomorphism of Batalin–Vilkovisky algebras. As an application, we explain by examples how to compute the Batalin–Vilkovisky structure, in particular, the Gerstenhaber Lie bracket, over the Hochschild cohomology ring of the group algebra of a finite abelian group.  相似文献

It is shown that the product structures of motivic cohomology groups and of higher Chow groups are compatible under the comparison isomorphism of Voevodsky (2002) [11]. This extends the result of Weibel (1999) [14], where he used the comparison isomorphism which assumed that the base field admits resolution of singularities. The mod n motivic cohomology groups and product structures in motivic homotopy theory are defined, and it is shown that the product structures are compatible under the comparison isomorphisms.  相似文献

In this paper the authors investigate the structure of the restricted Lie algebra cohomology of p-nilpotent Lie algebras with trivial p-power operation. Our study is facilitated by a spectral sequence whose E 2-term is the tensor product of the symmetric algebra on the dual of the Lie algebra with the ordinary Lie algebra cohomology and converges to the restricted cohomology ring. In many cases this spectral sequence collapses, and thus, the restricted Lie algebra cohomology is Cohen–Macaulay. A stronger result involves the collapsing of the spectral sequence and the cohomology ring identifying as a ring with the E 2-term. We present criteria for the collapsing of this spectral sequence and provide some examples where the ring isomorphism fails. Furthermore, we show that there are instances when the spectral sequence does not collapse and yields cohomology rings which are not Cohen-Macaulay.  相似文献

This paper continues the development of the deformation theory of abelian categories introduced in a previous paper by the authors. We show first that the deformation theory of abelian categories is controlled by an obstruction theory in terms of a suitable notion of Hochschild cohomology for abelian categories. We then show that this Hochschild cohomology coincides with the one defined by Gerstenhaber, Schack and Swan in the case of module categories over diagrams and schemes and also with the Hochschild cohomology for exact categories introduced recently by Keller. In addition we show in complete generality that Hochschild cohomology satisfies a Mayer-Vietoris property and that for constantly ringed spaces it coincides with the cohomology of the structure sheaf.  相似文献

A metric Lie algebra is a Lie algebra equipped with an invariant non-degenerate symmetric bilinear form. It is called indecomposable if it is not the direct sum of two metric Lie algebras. We are interested in describing the isomorphism classes of indecomposable metric Lie algebras. In the present paper we restrict ourselves to a certain class of solvable metric Lie algebras which includes all indecomposable metric Lie algebras with maximal isotropic centre. We will see that each metric Lie algebra belonging to this class is a twofold extension associated with an orthogonal representation of an abelian Lie algebra. We will describe equivalence classes of such extensions by a certain cohomology set. In particular we obtain a classification scheme for indecomposable metric Lie algebras with maximal isotropic centre and the classification of metric Lie algebras of index 2.  相似文献

Gelfand and Fuks have studied the cohomology of the Lie algebra of vector fields on a manifold. In this article, we generalize their main tools to compute the Leibniz cohomology, by extending the two spectral sequences associated to the diagonal and the order filtration. In particular, we determine some new generators for the diagonal Leibniz cohomology of the Lie algebra of vector fields on the circle.  相似文献

Given a parabolic subalgebra g1×n of a semisimple Lie algebra, Kostant (Ann. Math. 1963) and Griffiths (Acta Math. 1963) independently computed the g1 invariants in the cohomology group of n with exterior adjoint coefficients. By a theorem of Bott (Ann. Math. 1957), this is the cohomology of the associated compact homogeneous space with coefficients in the sheaf of local holomorphic forms. In this paper we determine explicitly the full module structure, over the symplectic group, of the cohomology group of the Heisenberg Lie algebra with exterior adjoint coefficients. This is the cohomology of the cotangent bundle of the Heisenberg group.  相似文献

In the following paper we introduce the notion of orientable functor (orientable cohomology theory) on the category of projective smooth schemes and define a family of transfer maps. Applying this technique, we prove that with finite coefficients orientable cohomology of a projective variety is invariant with respect to the base-change given by an extension of algebraically closed fields. This statement generalizes the classical result of Suslin, concerning algebraic K-theory of algebraically closed fields. Besides K-theory, we treat such examples of orientable functors as etale cohomology, motivic cohomology, algebraic cobordism. We also demonstrate a method to endow algebraic cobordism with multiplicative structure and Chern classes.  相似文献

The cohomology of Lie (super)algebras has many important applications in mathematics and physics. At present, since the required algebraic computations are very tedious, the cohomology is explicitly computed only in a few cases for different classes of Lie (super)algebras. That is why application of computer algebra methods is important for this problem. We describe an algorithm (and its C implementation) for computing the cohomology of Lie algebras and superalgebras. In elaborating the algorithm, we focused mainly on the cohomology with coefficients in trivial, adjoint, and coadjoint modules for Lie (super)algebras of the formal vector fields. These algebras have many applications to modern supersymmetric models of theoretical and mathematical physics. As an example, we consider the cohomology of the Poisson algebra Po(2) with coefficients in the trivial module and present 3- and 5-cocycles found by a computer. Bibliography: 6 titles.  相似文献

We classify all finite-dimensional connected Hopf algebras with large abelian primitive spaces. We show that they are Hopf algebra extensions of restricted enveloping algebras of certain restricted Lie algebras. For any abelian matched pair associated with these extensions, we construct a cohomology group, which classifies all the extensions up to equivalence. Moreover, we present a 1–1 correspondence between the isomorphism classes and a group quotient of the cohomology group deleting some exceptional points, where the group respects the automorphisms of the abelian matched pair and the exceptional points represent those restricted Lie algebra extensions.  相似文献

In the present paper, we prove that for an n-dimensional compact orbifold with an s-homological orientation, the duality of the ws-singular cohomology group and the t-singular homology group holds. The key tools are “the t-modification of the cap product” for giving the duality homomorphism and “the Convex Suborbifold Theorem” for extending the local duality isomorphism to the global one. The duality theorem proved in the present paper is a naturally required consequence of the preceding works of the authors.  相似文献

We show that Verdier duality for certain sheaves on the moduli spaces of graphs associated to differential graded operads corresponds to the cobar-duality of operads (which specializes to Koszul duality for Koszul operads). This in particular gives a conceptual explanation of the appearance of graph cohomology of both the commutative and Lie types in computations of the cohomology of the outer automorphism group of a free group. Another consequence is an explicit computation of dualizing sheaves on spaces of metric graphs, thus characterizing to which extent these spaces are different from oriented orbifolds. We also provide a relation between the cohomology of the space of metric ribbon graphs, known to be homotopy equivalent to the moduli space of Riemann surfaces, and the cohomology of a certain sheaf on the space of usual metric graphs.  相似文献

In this paper we show how Weil's theory of near points yields a new light on the classical approaches to the study of the differential invariants of a sheaf of tangent vector fields. We give conditions for the existence of invariant derivations for a sheaf of tangent vector fields, which allows to apply Lie's algorithm to obtain new differential invariants as quotients of Jacobian determinants of known ones. We give sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of the symbol of a sheaf of tangent vector fields and prove our main result, a finiteness theorem for the differential invariants of a sheaf of Lie algebras which simplifies and improves on the treatment given in J. We consider skew-products with an arbitrary compact Lie group, when the base map is a one-sided shift of finite type endowed with an equilibrium state of a Hölder continuous function. First we show that the weak-mixing property of the skew-product implies exactness and exponential mixing. Then we address the problem of classification under measure-theoretic isomorphisms. We show that for a generic set of equilibrium states the isomorphism class of the skew-products corresponds essentially to the cohomology classes of the defining skewing function and the isomorphism is essentially a homeomorphism.Dedicated to Ricardo MañéPartially supported by CNPq.  相似文献

Let X be a complex smooth projective variety, and G a locally free sheaf on X. We show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between pairs (Λ, Ξ), where Λ is a sheaf of almost polynomial filtered algebras over X satisfying Simpson’s axioms and \( \equiv :Gr\Lambda \to Sym \bullet _{\mathcal{O}_X } \mathcal{G}\) is an isomorphism, and pairs (L, Σ), where L is a holomorphic Lie algebroid structure on \(\mathcal{G}\) and Σ is a class in F 1 H 2(L, ?), the first Hodge filtration piece of the second cohomology of L.As an application, we construct moduli spaces of semistable flat L-connections for any holomorphic Lie algebroid L. Particular examples of these are given by generalized holomorphic bundles for any generalized complex structure associated to a holomorphic Poisson manifold.  相似文献

We revisit the cohomological index theorem for elliptic elements in the universal enveloping algebra of a Lie groupoid previously proved by the authors. We prove a Thom isomorphism for Lie algebroids which enables us to rewrite the “topological side” of the index theorem. This results in index formulae for Lie groupoid analogues of the familiar geometric operators on manifolds such as the signature and Dirac operator expressed in terms of the usual characteristic classes in Lie algebroid cohomology.  相似文献

We determine the structure of restricted Lie algebras with bounded cohomology over arbitrary fields of prime characteristic. As a byproduct a classification of the serial restricted Lie algebras and the restricted Lie algebras of finite representation type is obtained. In addition, we derive complete information on the finite dimensional indecomposable restricted modules of these algebras over algebraically closed fields.  相似文献

In this article, we associate to affine algebraic or local analytic varieties their tangent algebra. This is the Lie algebra of all vector fields on the ambient space which are tangent to the variety. Properties of the relation between varieties and tangent algebras are studied. Being the tangent algebra of some variety is shown to be equivalent to a purely Lie algebra theoretic property of subalgebras of the Lie algebra of all vector fields on the ambient space. This allows to prove that the isomorphism type of the variety is determinde by its tangent algebra.  相似文献
