Let U be an invariant stable domain of a rational function R and z 0 ∈ ? U a weakly repelling fixed point of R. Assuming a “local surjective condition”, which is obviously satisfied in the case of a completely invariant domain U, we show that zq is an accessible boundary point of U. For the first mixed problem for a hyperbolic equation with an unbounded coefficient with power growth at infinity, the large-time behavior of the solutions is studied. The paper is devoted to pseudodifferential boundary value problems in domains with singular points on the boundary. The tangent cone at a singular point is allowed to degenerate. In particular, the boundary may rotate and oscillate in a neighbourhood of such a point. We show a criterion for the Fredholm property of a boundary value problem and derive estimates of solutions close to singular points.  相似文献

Let B be an irreducible hermitian symmetric domain of rank r in Cd and let G := Aut(B) the group of all biholomorphic automorphisms of B. We construct explicit integral formulas for the G-invariant inner products on spaces of holomorphic functions on B associated with the discrete Wallach points and the so-called embedded Wallach points, by means of integration on G-orbits on the boundary B of B and of invariant differential operators acting on symmetric domains of lower rank.  相似文献

Suppose , let M 1, M 2 be n-dimensional connected complete finite-volume hyperbolic manifolds with nonempty geodesic boundary, and suppose that π1 (M 1) is quasi-isometric to π1 (M 2) (with respect to the word metric). Also suppose that if n=3, then ∂M 1 and ∂M 2 are compact. We show that M 1 is commensurable with M 2. Moreover, we show that there exist homotopically equivalent hyperbolic 3-manifolds with non-compact geodesic boundary which are not commensurable with each other. We also prove that if M is as M 1 above and G is a finitely generated group which is quasi-isometric to π1 (M), then there exists a hyperbolic manifold with geodesic boundary M′ with the following properties: M′ is commensurable with M, and G is a finite extension of a group which contains π1 (M′) as a finite-index subgroupMathematics Subject Classification (2000). In this paper we describe a function F n : R +R + such that for any hyperbolic n-manifold M with totally geodesic boundary ${\partial M \neq \emptyset}In this paper we describe a function F n : R +R + such that for any hyperbolic n-manifold M with totally geodesic boundary ?M 1 ?{\partial M \neq \emptyset} , the volume of M is equal to the sum of the values of F n on the orthospectrum of M. We derive an integral formula for F n in terms of elementary functions. We use this to give a lower bound for the volume of a hyperbolic n-manifold with totally geodesic boundary in terms of the area of the boundary.  相似文献

<正>This paper deals with absorbing boundary conditions for hyperbolic systems in one and two space dimensions.We prove the strict well-posedness of the resulting initial boundary value problem in 1D.Afterwards we establish the GKS-stability of the corresponding Lax-Wendroff-type finite difference scheme.Hereby,we have to extend the classical proofs,since the(discretized) absorbing boundary conditions do not fit the standard form of boundary conditions for hyperbolic systems.  相似文献

Properties of integral operators with weak singularities arc investigated. It is assumed that G ? ?n is a bounded domain. The boundary δG should be smooth concerning the Sobolev trace theorem. It will be proved that the integral operators $\int {_G \frac{{f\left(\Theta \right)}}{{x - y|^{n - 1} }}u\left(\nu \right)d\partial G_\nu }$ and $ \int {_{\partial G} \frac{{f\left(\Theta \right)}}{{|x - y|^{n - 1} }}u\left(y \right)d\partial G_y }$ maps Wpk(G) into Wpk+1(G) and Wpk?1(G) into Wpk/p(G), respectively, and are bounded. Here θ ∈ S ? ?n, where S is the unit sphere. Furthermore, f possesses bounded first order derivatives and is bounded on S. Then applications to first order systems are discussed.  相似文献

Using a capacity approach, we prove in this article that it is always possible to define a realization of the Laplacian on L 2() with generalized Robin boundary conditions where is an arbitrary open subset of R n and is a Borel measure on the boundary of . This operator generates a sub-Markovian C 0-semigroup on L 2(). If d=d where is a strictly positive bounded Borel measurable function defined on the boundary and the (n–1)-dimensional Hausdorff measure on , we show that the semigroup generated by the Laplacian with Robin boundary conditions has always Gaussian estimates with modified exponents. We also obtain that the spectrum of the Laplacian with Robin boundary conditions in L p () is independent of p[1,). Our approach constitutes an alternative way to Daners who considers the (n–1)-dimensional Hausdorff measure on the boundary. In particular, it allows us to construct a conterexample disproving Daners' closability conjecture.  相似文献

We construct and justify leading order weakly nonlinear geometric optics expansions for nonlinear hyperbolic initial value problems, including the compressible Euler equations. The technique of simultaneous Picard iteration is employed to show approximate solutions tend to the exact solutions in the small wavelength limit. Recent work [2 Coulombel, J.-F., Gues, O., and Williams, M., 2011. Resonant leading order geometric optics expansions for quasilinear hyperbolic fixed and free boundary problems, Comm. Part. Diff. Eqs. 36 (2011), pp. 17971859.[Taylor &; Francis Online], [Web of Science ®] [Google Scholar]] by Coulombel et al. studied the case of reflecting wave trains whose expansions involve only real phases. We treat generic boundary frequencies by incorporating into our expansions both real and nonreal phases. Nonreal phases introduce difficulties such as approximately solving complex transport equations and result in the addition of boundary layers with exponential decay. This also prevents us from doing an error analysis based on almost periodic profiles as in [2 Coulombel, J.-F., Gues, O., and Williams, M., 2011. In this paper, the robustness of the orbit structure is investigated for a partially hyperbolic endomorphism f on a compact manifold M. It is first proved that the dynamical structure of its orbit space(the inverse limit space) M~f of f is topologically quasi-stable under C~0-small perturbations in the following sense: For any covering endomorphism g C~0-close to f, there is a continuous map φ from M~g to Multiply form -∞ to ∞ M such that for any {y_i }_(i∈Z) ∈φ(M~g), y_(i+1) and f(y_i) differ only by a motion along the center direction. It is then proved that f has quasi-shadowing property in the following sense: For any pseudo-orbit {x_i }_(i∈Z),there is a sequence of points {y_i }_(i∈Z) tracing it, in which y_(i+1) is obtained from f(y_i) by a motion along the center direction.  相似文献

We investigate the number of lattice points in planar convex domains. We give estimates of the remainder in the asymptotic representation with numerical constants, which are astonishingly small. We consider convex planar domains whose boundary has nonvanishing curvature throughout. Here the curvature of the curve of boundary plays an important role. Further, we consider the number of lattice points in domains which are bounded by superellipses. These curves have isolated points with curvature zero.  相似文献

This paper addresses an analysis on the longtime behavior of the hyperbolic equations with a partially boundary damping, under sharp regularity assumptions on the coefficients appeared in the equation. Based on a global Carleman estimate, we establish an estimate on the underlying resolvent operator of the equation, via which we show the logarithmic decay rate for solutions of the hyperbolic equations without any geometric assumption on the subboundary in which the damping is effective.  相似文献

 An asymptotic formula is proved for the number of lattice points in large threedimensional convex bodies. In contrast to the usual assumption the Gaussian curvature of the boundary may vanish at non-isolated points. It is only assumed that the second fundamental form vanishes at isolated points where the tangent plane is rational and some ellipticity condition holds.  相似文献
