The in-plane magnetic field penetration depth (lambda(ab)) in single-crystal La1.83Sr0.17CuO4 was investigated by muon-spin rotation (muSR). The temperature dependence of lambda(ab)(-2) has an inflection point around 10-15 K, suggesting the presence of two superconducting gaps: a large gap (Delta(1)(d)) with d-wave and a small gap (Delta(2)(s)) with s-wave symmetry. The zero-temperature values of the gaps at mu(0)H=0.02 T were found to be Delta(1)(d)(0)=8.2(1) meV and Delta(2)(s)(0)=1.57(8) meV.  相似文献

A detailed inelastic neutron scattering study of the overdoped high temperature copper oxide superconductor Y(0.9)Ca(0.1)Ba(2)Cu(3)O(7) reveals two-distinct magnetic resonant modes in the superconducting state. The modes differ in their symmetry with respect to exchange between adjacent copper oxide layers. Counterparts of the mode with odd symmetry, but not the one with even symmetry, had been observed before at lower doping levels. The observation of the even mode resolves a long-standing puzzle, and the spectral weight ratio of both modes yields an estimate of the onset of particle-hole spin-flip excitations.  相似文献

We report a Cu -edge resonant inelastic x-ray scattering (RIXS) study of charge-transfer excitations in the 2-8 eV range in the structurally simple compound HgBa(2)CuO(4+delta) at optimal doping (T(c)=96.5 K). The spectra exhibit a significant dependence on the incident photon energy which we carefully utilize to resolve a multiplet of weakly dispersive (<0.5 eV) electron-hole excitations, including a mode at 2 eV. The observation of this 2 eV excitation suggests the existence of a remnant charge-transfer gap deep in the superconducting phase. Quite generally, our results, which include additional data for the Mott insulator La(2)CuO(4), demonstrate the importance of exploring the incident photon-energy dependence of the RIXS cross section.  相似文献

The transport of heat and charge in cuprates was measured in single crystals of La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4+delta) (LSCO) across the doping phase diagram at low temperatures. In underdoped LSCO, the thermal conductivity is found to decrease with increasing magnetic field in the T-->0 limit, in striking contrast to the increase observed in all superconductors, including cuprates at higher doping. In heavily underdoped LSCO, where superconductivity can be entirely suppressed with an applied magnetic field, we show that a novel thermal metal-to-insulator transition takes place upon going from the superconducting state to the field-induced normal state.  相似文献

We report the spin Knight shift (K(s)) and the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate (1/T1) in the vortex state as a function of magnetic field (H) up to 28 T in the high-Tc superconductor TlSr2CaCu2O6.8 (Tc = 68 K). At low temperatures well below Tc, both K(s) and 1/T1 measured around the middle point between the two nearest vortices (saddle point) increase substantially with increasing field, which indicate that the quasiparticle states with an ungapped spectrum are extended outside the vortex cores in a d-wave superconductor. The density of states (DOS) around the saddle point is found to be kappaN(0)square root[H/H(c2)], with kappa = 0.5-0.7 and N0 being the normal-state DOS.  相似文献

In order to investigate the electronic structure around oxygen in superconducting La2–x Sr x CuO4 (x=0.10 and 0.14), precise measurements were carried out on the paramagnetic Knight shifts in the spin rotation frequency of the negative muon bound to the oxygen with reference to antiferromagnetic La2–x Sr x CuO4 (x=0.05). Remarkable temperature as well as crystalline-axis dependence was observed for the highT c case with a divergence character towardsT c. Possible mechanisms to explain the observed results are given.  相似文献

Angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy study is reported on a high quality optimally doped Bi2Sr1.6La0.4CuO6+delta high-Tc superconductor. In the antinodal region with a maximal d-wave gap, the symbolic superconducting coherence peak, which has been widely observed in multi-CuO2-layer cuprate superconductors, is unambiguously observed in a single-layer system. The associated peak-dip separation is just about 19 meV, which is much smaller than its counterparts in multilayered compounds, but correlates with the energy scales of spin excitations in single-layer cuprates.  相似文献

Time-resolved local induction measurements near the vortex lattice order-disorder transition in optimally doped Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) crystals show that the high-field, disordered phase can be quenched to fields as low as half the transition field. Over an important range of fields, the electrodynamical behavior of the vortex system is governed by the coexistence of ordered and disordered vortex phases in the sample. We interpret the results as supercooling of the high-field phase and the possible first-order nature of the order-disorder transition at the "second magnetization peak."  相似文献

We present high resolution angle resolved photoemission data of the bilayer superconductor Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) (Bi2212) showing a clear doubling of the near E(F) bands. This splitting approaches zero along the (0,0)-->(pi,pi) nodal line and is not observed in single layer Bi(2)Sr(2)CuO(6+delta) (Bi2201), indicating that the splitting is due to the long sought after bilayer splitting effect. The splitting has a magnitude of approximately 75 meV near the middle of the zone, extrapolating to about 110 meV near the (pi,0) point. The existence of these two bands also helps to clear up the recent controversy concerning the topology of the Fermi surface.  相似文献

We report 17O nuclear-magnetic-resonance (NMR) results in the stripe ordered La(1.8-x)Eu0.2Sr(x)CuO4 system. Below a temperature T(q) approximately 80 K, the local electric field gradient and the absolute intensity of the NMR signal of the planar O site exhibit a dramatic decrease. We interpret these results as microscopic evidence for a spatially inhomogeneous charge distribution, where the NMR signal from O sites in the domain walls of the spin density modulation are wiped out due to large hyperfine fields, and the remaining signal arises from the intervening Mott insulating regions.  相似文献

SQUID susceptibility measurements of the high Tc superconductor Sr0.2La1.8CuO4, with a 40 K resistive onset, are reported for fields from 1 μT to 4.5 T (10 mG to 45 kG). Data show an average lower critical field of 30 mT at 5 K, but with nonlinearities appearing as low as 100 μT. Zero field cooling and subsequent application of a field shows a diamagnetic shielding effect reaching 100% in the lowest fields with a 37 K onset and 31 K midpoint. The observed Meissner effect in single phase material exceeds 40% but decreases with oxygen annealing even though Tc increases.  相似文献

From measurements of the 63Cu Knight shift ( K) and the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate ( 1/T1) under magnetic fields from zero up to 28 T in the slightly overdoped high- T(c) superconductor TlSr2CaCu2O6.8 ( T(c) = 68 K), we find that the pseudogap behavior, i.e., the reductions of 1/T1T and K above T(c) from the values expected from the normal state at high T, is strongly field dependent and follows a scaling relation. We show that this scaling is consistent with the effects of the Cooper pair density fluctuations. The present finding contrasts sharply with the pseudogap property reported previously in the underdoped regime where no field effect was seen up to 23.2 T. The implications are discussed.  相似文献

Results from the study of a highly overdoped (OD) Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) with a T(c) = 51 K using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy are presented. We observe a sharp peak in the spectra near ( pi,0) that persists well above T(c), a nodal self-energy which approaches that seen for the Mo(110) surface state, and a more k-independent line shape at the Fermi surface than the lower-doped cuprates. This allows for a realistic comparison of the lifetime values to the experimental resistivity measurements. These observations point to the validity of the quasiparticle picture for the OD even in the normal state.  相似文献

We measure the normal-state in-plane resistivity of Bi(2)Sr(2-x)La(x)CuO(6+delta) single crystals at low temperatures by suppressing superconductivity with 60 T pulsed magnetic fields. With decreasing hole doping, we observe a crossover from a metallic to an insulating behavior in the low-temperature normal state. This crossover is estimated to occur near 1/8 doping, well inside the underdoped regime, and not at optimum doping as reported for other cuprates. The insulating regime is marked by a logarithmic temperature dependence of the resistivity over two decades of temperature, suggesting that a peculiar charge localization is common to the cuprates.  相似文献
