The local and global nonlinear dynamics of a two-degrees-of-freedom model system conveying fluid is studied. The undeflected model consistsof an inverted T formed by three rigid rods, with the tips of the twohorizontal rods resting on the viscous foundation. The foundationexhibits a visco-elasto-plastic response, including the Bauschingereffect. The vertical rigid rod of an annular cross-section is subjectedto a conservative (dead) force. Also, it conveys fluid having bothstatic and pulsation components. First, the method of multiple scales isused for the analysis of the local dynamics of the system withvisco-elastic response. Attention is focused on modal interactionphenomena in weak excitation at primary resonance and on hardsub-harmonic excitation. Two different asymptotic expansions areutilised to get a structural response for typical ranges of excitationparameters. Numerical integration of the governing equations is thenperformed to validate the results of asymptotic analysis in each case. Afull global nonlinear dynamics analysis of the visco-elasto-plasticsystem is performed. The role of plastic deformations in thedestabilisation of the system is discussed. Large-amplitude nonlinearoscillations of the visco-elasto-plastic system are studied, includingthe influence of material hardening and of static and periodiccomponents of pulsating fluid. Chaotic regimes of motion with andwithout plastic effects are considered. The results of the analysis maybe used in devices composed of a rather short tube connected to a notcompletely fixed foundation resting on the soil exhibitingelasto-plastic behaviour.  相似文献

An efficient finite element formulation is presented for geometrical nonlinear elasto-plastic analyses of tensegrity systems based on the co-rotational method. Large displacement of a space rod element is decomposed into a rigid body motion in the global coordinate system and a pure small deformation in the local coordinate system. A new form of tangent stiffness matrix, including elastic and elasto-plastic stages is derived based on the proposed approach. An incremental-iterative solution strategy in conjunction with the Newton-Raphson method is employed to obtain the geometrical nonlinear elasto-plastic behavior of tensegrities. Several numerical examples are given to illustrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed algorithm for geometrical nonlinear elasto-plastic analyses of tensegrity structures.  相似文献

Summary The paper presents a thermodynamically consistent constitutive model for elasto-plastic analysis of orthotropic materials at large strain. The elastic and plastic anisotropies are assumed to be persistent in the material but the anisotropy axes can undergo a rigid rotation due to large plastic deformations. The orthotropic yield function is formulated in terms of the generally nonsymmetric Mandel stress tensor such that its skew-symmetric part is additionally taken into account. Special attention is focused on the convexity of the yield surface resulting in the nine-dimensional stress space. Of particular interest are new convexity conditions which do not appear in the classical theory of anisotropic plasticity. They impose additional constraints on the material constants governing the plastic spin. The role of the plastic spin is further studied in simple shear accompanied by large elastic and large plastic deformations. If the plastic spin is neglected, the shear stress response is characterized by oscillations with an amplitude strictly dependent on the degree of the plastic anisotropy.accepted for publication 2 March 2004  相似文献

Adhesive interaction in spherical contacts was modeled with the Lennard-Jones (L-J) potential. Elastic adhesive contact was analyzed by the equivalent system of a rigid sphere with reduced radius of curvature and a half-space of effective elastic modulus. The critical gap at the instant of abrupt surface contact (jump-in) and separation (jump-out) was determined from the deformed surface profile of the elastic half-space and geometrical relationships. A finite element model of a rigid sphere and an elastic-plastic half-space was used to examine elastic-plastic adhesive contact. Surface adhesion was modeled by nonlinear springs with a force-displacement relationship governed by the L-J potential. The evolution of the interfacial force and the central gap distance as well as the occurrence of jump-in and jump-out instabilities were investigated in terms of the Tabor parameter, plasticity parameter, and dimensionless maximum normal displacement. The force-displacement response due to several approach-retraction cycles was interpreted in the context of elastic and plastic shakedown behaviors using dimensionless parameters.  相似文献

In this paper we scrutinize the asymptotic behavior of a nonlinear problem which models the vertical vibrations of a suspension bridge. The single-span road-bed is modeled as an extensible viscoelastic beam which is simply supported at the ends. It is suspended to a rigid and immovable frame by means of a distributed system of vertical one-sided elastic springs. A constant axial force p is applied at one end of the deck, and time-independent vertical loads are allowed. For this model we obtain original results, including the existence of a regular global attractor for all \({p\in\mathbb{R}.}\) In spite of the extremely weak dissipation due to the convolution term, this result is achieved by exploiting the exponential decay of the memory kernel.  相似文献

In this paper, the transmissibility of a viscoelastic beam supported by vertical springs is defined by proposing a new vertical elastic support boundary. By contrasting with the viscoelastic beam with rigid vertical supports and the rigid rod with vertical elastic support ends, the necessity of the transmissibility of an elastic structure with vertical elastic supports is proved. In order to approximately solve the steady-state responses of the nonlinear transverse vibration of the viscoelastic beam under periodic excitation, the harmonic balance method in conjunction with the pseudo arc-length method is adopted. The numerical results are calculated to confirm the approximate analytic results. The comparison between the rigid rod and the elastic beam shows that neglecting the bending vibration of the structures will underestimate the frequency range in which the elastic support produces an effective vibration isolation. On the other hand, the comparison between the rigid support and the spring support demonstrates that ignoring the elasticity of the support ends will create a false understanding of the force transmission of elastic structures. In general, this paper presents the necessity of studying the force transmission of elastic structures with elastic supports. Moreover, this paper will become the beginning of the study of the vibration isolation of the elastic structure.  相似文献

A general nonlinear theory for the dynamics of elastic anisotropic plates undergoing moderate-rotation vibrations is presented. The theory fully accounts for geometric nonlinearities (moderate rotations and displacements) by using local stress and strain measures and an exact coordinate transformation, which result in nonlinear curvatures and strain-displacement expressions that contain the von Karman strains as a special case. The theory accounts for transverse shear deformations by using a third-order theory and for extensionality and changes in the configuration due to in-plane and transverse deformations. Five third-order nonlinear partial-differential equations of motion describing the extension-extension-bending-shear-shear vibrations of plates are obtained by an asymptotic analysis, which reveals that laminated plates display linear elastic and nonlinear geometric couplings among all motions.  相似文献

In this study, a hyperelastic multiscale modeling technique is used to predict elastic properties of polycarbonate and polyimide polymer systems using a set of widely accepted atomistic force fields. The model incorporates molecular simulations and a nonlinear, continuum mechanics-based, constitutive formulation that incorporates the behavior of the polymer materials as predicted from molecular simulations. The predicted properties of the polymers using multiple force fields are compared to experimentally measured values. Both static and dynamic molecular simulations are performed using molecular mechanics energy minimizations and molecular dynamics simulation techniques, respectively. The results of this study indicate that static molecular simulation is a useful tool to predict the bulk-level nonlinear mechanical behavior of polymers for finite deformations. It is found that the AMBER force field yields the most accurate predicted mechanical and physical properties of the modeled polymer systems compared to the other force fields used in this study.  相似文献

This study concerns the local character of the elastostatic field in plane strain near a point that separates a free from an adjoining fixed segment of a rectilinear boundary-component. The well-known singular field behavior predicted by the linear theory, as such a point is approached, exhibits oscillatory deformations and stresses. It is shown here by means of an asymptotic analysis that the foregoing anomalous behavior does not occur within the nonlinear theory of harmonic elastic materials. In preparation for this task certain general aspects of the latter theory are reviewed. The results obtained in the nonlinear asymptotic treatment of the class of mixed boundary-value problems considered are discussed in detail with particular attention to the problem of a bonded flat-ended rigid punch.  相似文献

The nonlinear dynamics time evolution of an electromagnetically levitated (EML) droplet is considered in this study. The droplet is modeled as a three dimensional system with lumped masses and elastic springs. A new expression for the spring elastic constants in a global stiffness matrix has been derived, and equations of motion presented. The chaotic behavior of the system is analyzed for different coil configurations. The stability of the motion is studied using the Lyapunov exponents. 本文提出摩擦接触弹塑性分析的数学规划法,是弹性接触问题解法的推广,使之能处理比例加载时的塑性效应。利用所导出接触问题总刚度阵的逆,结合参变量线性互补公式,仍可消去由接触单元而引入的惩罚因子。于是,可以获得一个弹塑性问题、弹性接触和弹塑性接触问题的有限元参数二次规划法模型。所选的几个实例说明了方法的实用性。  相似文献

A stability analysis and vibration studies are presented for a passenger coach model which is equipped with rigid or elastic wheels. The elastic components between wheel rim and disc act as third suspension reducing the unsprung mass and isolating the passenger coach from the high frequency motion of the wheel rim. The vertical and lateral motion by such a design requires a thorough analysis of the system dynamics. The excitation of the vertical vibrations by stochastic track irregularities results in acceleration amplitudes of the carbody that may generate droning noise. A parameter study of spring and damper coefficients of the system with radialelastic wheels leads to considerably reduced droning noise and lower force level between wheel and rail. Furthermore, the eigenmotion of a rigid and an elastic wheelset rolling on a track, the so-called hunting, is investigated. The variation of the spring and damper coefficients shows limits to guarantee the stability of the system.  相似文献

We investigate the effects of varying the eccentricity between the gravity axis and the elastic axis on the level of energy harvested from a piezoaeroelastic energy harvester consisting of a pitching and plunging rigid airfoil supported by nonlinear springs. The normal form of the dynamics of the harvester near the Hopf bifurcation is used to determine the critical nonlinear coefficients of the springs and maximize the harvested power for different eccentricities. Two configurations are evaluated in terms of the power generated from limit cycle oscillations and a range of operating wind speeds. The impact of the load resistance on the harvested power is also assessed.  相似文献

Under the frame of multibody dynamics, the contact dynamics of elasto-plastic spatial thin beams is numerically studied by using the spatial thin beam elements of absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF). The inter-nal force of the elasto-plastic spatial thin beam element is derived under the assumption that the plastic strain of the beam element depends only on its longitudinal deformation. A new body-fixed local coordinate system is introduced into the spatial thin beam element of ANCF for efficient con-tact detection in the contact dynamics simulation. The linear isotropic hardening constitutive law is used to describe the elasto-plastic deformation of beam material, and the classical return mapping algorithm is adopted to evaluate the plastic strains. A multi-zone contact approach of thin beams previ-ously proposed by the authors is also introduced to detect the multiple contact zones of beams accurately, and the penalty method is used to compute the normal contact force of thin beams in contact. Four numerical examples are given to demonstrate the applicability and effectiveness of the pro-posed elasto-plastic spatial thin beam element of ANCF for flexible multibody system dynamics.  相似文献

基于多自由度系统中的反共振特性,分别在传统线性隔振系统的上、下两层引入非线性倾斜弹簧负刚度机构,构成两自由度准零刚度隔振器。通过静态特性分析,推导出系统满足零刚度条件时,各参数之间的关系,分析了力学参数及结构参数对系统刚度特性的影响。建立两自由度准零刚度隔振系统的非线性动力学方程,利用平均法求解,推导出力传递率表达式,结合数值分析方法,探讨系统在不同的上、下层隔振器阻尼比、竖直刚度比及质量比情况下的力传递率特性,并与单自由度准零刚度隔振系统及线性斜弹簧两自由度准零刚度隔振系统进行对比研究。结果表明:当结构参数 (即:倾斜弹簧处于静平衡位置的长度与倾斜弹簧原长的比值)较小且倾斜弹簧为软化弹簧时,可在平衡位置附近获得较小的系统刚度及较大的低刚度区间;通过选择适当的上、下层隔振器阻尼比、竖直刚度比与质量比,可减小系统的起始隔振频率,增宽隔振频带,加快系统力传递率在特定频段内的衰减速率,改善系统的低频隔振性能。  相似文献

An integrated approach for all necessary variations within direct analysis, variational design sensitivity analysis and shakedown analysis based on Melan’s static shakedown theorem for linear unlimited kinematic hardening material behavior is formulated. Using an adequate formulation of the optimization problem of shakedown analysis the necessary variations of residuals, objectives and constraints can be derived easily. Subsequent discretizations w.r.t. displacements and geometry using e.g. isoparametric finite elements yield the well known ‘tangent stiffness matrix’ and ‘tangent sensitivity matrix’, as well as the corresponding matrices for the variation of the Lagrangian-functional which are discussed in detail. Remarks on the computer implementation and numerical examples show the efficiency of the proposed formulation. Important effects of shakedown conditions in shape optimization with elasto-plastic deformations are highlighted in a comparison with elastic and elasto-plastic material behavior and the necessity of applying shakedown conditions when optimizing structures with elasto-plastic deformations is concluded.  相似文献
