On H–type groups N the left invariant horizontal vector fields span a subbundle of the tangent bundle, called the horizontal bundle HN. Generalized contact mappings f on N are smooth mappings which preserve HN. The question is: how many such mappings exist? In the case of the Heisenberg group these are the contact mappings in the classical sense and they exist in abundance. In this paper it is shown that if the dimension of the center of N is at least three, then the generalized contact mappings are in the automorphism group of a finite dimensional Lie algebra g. The elements in are the infinitesimal generators of local one parameter subgroups of generalized contact transformations. Rigidity is defined as the property that is finite dimensional. For the case of the complexified Heisenberg group, i.e. the case when the dimension of the center of N is two, it has been shown [RR] that g is infinite dimensional. Let τ be a subgroup functor and H a p-subgroup of a finite group G. Let G= G/H_G and H= H/H_G. We say that H is Φ-τ-supplement in G if G has a subnormal subgroup T and a τ-subgroup S contained in H such that G=H T and H∩T≤SΦ(H). In this paper,some new characterizations of hypercyclically embedability and p-nilpotency of a finite group are obtained based on the assumption that some primary subgroups are Φ-τ-supplement in G.  相似文献

Using Bre?ar and ?emrl approach, we give a proof of the extended Jacobson density theorem for Φ-derivations. Further, some applications on Banach algebras will be given. Precisely, for d being a continuous Φ-derivation on a given Banach algebra ?, we show that: d(?) ? rad (?) ? [b,[a, d(a)]] ∈ rad (?) for all a, b ∈ ? and d leaves invariant all maximal ideals of codimension one?for every a ∈ ? there exists a positive integer n such that (d(a)) n is quasi-nilpotent ? [d, Φ](?) ? rad (?) and d 2(a) ∈ rad (?) for all a ∈ ?. This paper contains some general results about the automorphism group H of PG(3,q) leaving a -derived spread F invariant. The main result asserts that H contains a cyclic subgroups M*, whose order divides (q+1)/2. In particular, H is not trivial. In terms of translation planes this means that the translation complement of any -derived plane always admits some collineations which are not dilatations.Research partially supported by M.P.I. We study the topology of spaces related to Kac–Moody groups. Given a Kac–Moody group over $\mathbb C $ , let $\text {K}$ denote the unitary form with maximal torus ${{\mathrm{T}}}$ having normalizer ${{\mathrm{N}}}({{\mathrm{T}}})$ . In this article we study the cohomology of the flag manifold $\text {K}/{{{\mathrm{T}}}}$ as a module over the Nil-Hecke algebra, as well as the (co)homology of $\text {K}$ as a Hopf algebra. In particular, if $\mathbb F $ has positive characteristic, we show that $\text {H}_*(\text {K},\mathbb F )$ is a finitely generated algebra, and that $\text {H}^*(\text {K},\mathbb F )$ is finitely generated only if $\text {K}$ is a compact Lie group . We also study the stable homotopy type of the classifying space $\text {BK}$ and show that it is a retract of the classifying space $\text {BN(T)}$ of ${{\mathrm{N}}}({{\mathrm{T}}})$ . We illustrate our results with the example of rank two Kac–Moody groups.  相似文献

Artin–Tits groups act on a certain delta-hyperbolic complex, called the “additional length complex”. For an element of the group, acting loxodromically on this complex is a property analogous to the property of being pseudo-Anosov for elements of mapping class groups. By analogy with a well-known conjecture about mapping class groups, we conjecture that “most” elements of Artin–Tits groups act loxodromically. More precisely, in the Cayley graph of a subgroup G of an Artin–Tits group, the proportion of loxodromically acting elements in a ball of large radius should tend to one as the radius tends to infinity. In this paper, we give a condition guaranteeing that this proportion stays away from zero. This condition is satisfied e.g. for Artin–Tits groups of spherical type, their pure subgroups and some of their commutator subgroups.  相似文献

A subgroup H of a group G is said to be K-?-subnormal in G if H can be joined to the group by a chain of subgroups each of which is either normal in the next subgroup or of prime index in it. Properties of K-?-subnormal subgroups are obtained. A class of finite groups whose Sylow p-subgroups are K-?-subnormal in G for every p in a given set of primes is studied. We call a subgroup H of a finite group G c-supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and H ∩ K ≤ core(H). In this paper it is proved that a finite group G is p-nilpotent if G is S4-free and every minimal subgroup of P n GN is c-supplemented in NG(P), and when p = 2 P is quaternion-free, where p is the smallest prime number dividing the order of G, P a Sylow p-subgroup of G. As some applications of this result, some known results are generalized.  相似文献

We obtain conditions for the Σ-definability of a subset of the set of naturals in the hereditarily finite admissible set over a model and for the computability of a family of such subsets. We prove that: for each e-ideal I there exists a torsion-free abelian group A such that the family of e-degrees of Σ-subsets of ω in $\mathbb{H}\mathbb{F}(A)$ coincides with I; there exists a completely reducible torsion-free abelian group in the hereditarily finite admissible set over which there exists no universal Σ-function; for each principal e-ideal I there exists a periodic abelian group A such that the family of e-degrees of Σ-subsets of ω in $\mathbb{H}\mathbb{F}(A)$ coincides with I.  相似文献

A subgroup H of a finite group G is called ℙ-subnormal in G whenever H either coincides with G or is connected to G by a chain of subgroups of prime indices. If every Sylow subgroup of G is ℙ-subnormal in G then G is called a w-supersoluble group. We obtain some properties of ℙ-subnormal subgroups and the groups that are products of two ℙ-subnormal subgroups, in particular, of ℙ-subnormal w-supersoluble subgroups.  相似文献

Let G be a simple algebraic group of type G2 over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 2. We give an example of a finite group Γ with Sylow 2-subgroup Γ2 and an infinite family of pairwise non-conjugate homomorphisms ρ: Γ → G whose restrictions to Γ2 are all conjugate. This answers a question of Burkhard Külshammer from 1995. We also give an action of Γ on a connected unipotent group V such that the map of 1-cohomologies H1(Γ, V) → H1p, V) induced by restriction of 1-cocycles has an infinite fibre.  相似文献
