本文主要讨论了二次整数规划问题的线性化方法.在目标函数为二次函数的情况下,我们讨论了带有二次约束的整数规划问题的线性化方法,并将文献中对二次0-1问题的研究拓展为对带有盒约束的二次整数规划问题的研究.最终将带有盒约束的二次整数规划问题转化为线性混合本文主要讨论了二次整数规划问题的线性化方法.在目标函数为二次函数的情况下,我们讨论了带有二次约束的整数规划问题的线性化方法,并将文献中对二次0-1问题的研究拓展为对带有盒约束的二次整数规划问题的研究.最终将带有盒约束的二次整数规划问题转化为线性混合0-1整数规划问题,然后利用Ilog-cplex或Excel软件中的规划求解工具进行求解,从而解决原二次整数规划.  相似文献

This paper addresses a new and efficient linearization technique to solve mixed 0-1 polynomial problems to achieve a global optimal solution. Given a mixed 0-1 polynomial term z=ctx1x2xny, where x1,x2,…,xn are binary (0-1) variables and y is a continuous variable. Also, ct can be either a positive or a negative parameter. We transform z into a set of auxiliary constraints which are linear and can be solved by exact methods such as branch and bound algorithms. For this purpose, we will introduce a method in which the number of additional constraints is decreased significantly rather than the previous methods proposed in the literature. As is known in any operations research problem decreasing the number of constraints leads to decreasing the mathematical computations, extensively. Thus, research on the reducing number of constraints in mathematical problems in complicated situations have high priority for decision makers. In this method, each n-auxiliary constraints proposed in the last method in the literature for the linearization problem will be replaced by only 3 novel constraints. In other words, previous methods were dependent on the number of 0-1 variables and therefore, one auxiliary constraint was considered per 0-1 variable, but this method is completely independent of the number of 0-1 variables and this illustrates the high performance of this method in computation considerations. The analysis of this method illustrates the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

We consider 0–1 programming problems with a minimax objective function and any set of constraints. Upon appropriate transformations of its cost coefficients, such a minimax problem can be reduced to a linear minisum problem with the same set of feasible solutions such that an optimal solution to the latter will also solve the original minimax problem.Although this reducibility applies for any 0–1 programming problem, it is of particular interest for certain locational decision models. Among the obvious implications are that an algorithm for solving a p-median (minisum) problem in a network will also solve a corresponding p-center (minimax) problem.It should be emphasized that the results presented will in general only hold for 0–1 problems due to intrinsic properties of the minimax criterion.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with classical concave cost multi-echelon production/inventory control problems studied by W. Zangwill and others. It is well known that the problem with m production steps and n time periods can be solved by a dynamic programming algorithm in O(n 4 m) steps, which is considered as the fastest algorithm for solving this class of problems. In this paper, we will show that an alternative 0–1 integer programming approach can solve the same problem much faster particularly when n is large and the number of 0–1 integer variables is relatively few. This class of problems include, among others problem with set-up cost function and piecewise linear cost function with fewer linear pieces. The new approach can solve problems with mixed concave/convex cost functions, which cannot be solved by dynamic programming algorithms.  相似文献

Our paper deals with the covering number of finite projective planes which is related to an unsolved question of P. Erdös. An integer linear programming (ILP) formulation of the covering number of finite projective planes is introduced for projective planes of given orders. The mathematical programming based approach for this problem is new in the area of finite projective planes. Since the ILP problem is NP-hard and may involve up to 360.000 boolean variables for the considered problems, we propose a heuristic based on Simulated Annealing. The computational study gives a new insight into the structure of projective planes and their (minimal) blocking sets. This computational study indicates that the current theoretical results may be improved.  相似文献

传统的求解0-1规划问题方法大多属于直接离散的解法.现提出一个包含严格转换和近似逼近三个步骤的连续化解法:(1)借助阶跃函数把0-1离散变量转化为[0,1]区间上的连续变量;(2)对目标函数采用逼近折中阶跃函数近光滑打磨函数,约束条件采用线性打磨函数逼近折中阶跃函数,把0-1规划问题由离散问题转化为连续优化模型;(3)利用高阶光滑的解法求解优化模型.该方法打破了特定求解方法仅适用于特定类型0-1规划问题惯例,使求解0-1规划问题的方法更加一般化.在具体求解时,采用正弦型光滑打磨函数来逼近折中阶跃函数,计算效果很好.  相似文献

We present and compare three new compact linearizations for the quadratic 0-1 minimization problem, two of which achieve the same lower bound as does the “standard linearization”. Two of the linearizations require the same number of constraints with respect to Glover’s one, while the last one requires n additional constraints where n is the number of variables in the quadratic 0-1 problem. All three linearizations require the same number of additional variables as does Glover’s linearization. This is an improvement on the linearization of Adams, Forrester and Glover (2004) which requires n additional variables and 2n additional constraints to reach the same lower bound as does the standard linearization. Computational results show however that linearizations achieving a weaker lower bound at the root node have better global performances than stronger linearizations when solved by Cplex.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with an algorithm for selecting the best set of s variables out of k(> s) candidate variables in a multiple linear regression model. We employ absolute deviation as the measure of deviation and solve the resulting optimization problem by using 0-1 integer programming methodologies. In addition, we will propose a heuristic algorithm to obtain a close to optimal set of variables in terms of squared deviation. Computational results show that this method is practical and reliable for determining the best set of variables.  相似文献

We study the mixed 0-1 knapsack polytope, which is defined by a single knapsack constraint that contains 0-1 and bounded continuous variables. We study the mixed 0-1 knapsack polytope, which is defined by a single knapsack constraint that contains 0-1 and bounded continuous variables, through the lifting of continuous variables fixed at their upper bounds. We introduce the concept of a superlinear inequality and show that, in this case, lifting is significantly simpler than for general inequalities. We use the superlinearity theory, together with the traditional lifting of 0-1 variables, to describe families of facets of the mixed 0-1 knapsack polytope. We present new valid inequalities for 0-1 programming problems that work in similar ways to well known cover inequalities. Discussion and analysis of these cuts is followed by their revision and use in integer programming as a new generation of cuts that excludes not only portions of polyhedra containing noninteger points, also parts with some integer points that have been explored in search of an optimal solution. Our computational experimentations demonstrate that this new approach has significant potential for solving large scale integer programming problems.  相似文献

In this paper we study the extremal problem of finding how many 1 entries an n by n 0-1 matrix can have if it does not contain certain forbidden patterns as submatrices. We call the number of 1 entries of a 0-1 matrix its weight. The extremal function of a pattern is the maximum weight of an n by n 0-1 matrix that does not contain this pattern as a submatrix. We call a pattern (a 0-1 matrix) linear if its extremal function is O(n). Our main results are modest steps towards the elusive goal of characterizing linear patterns. We find novel ways to generate new linear patterns from known ones and use this to prove the linearity of some patterns. We also find the first minimal non-linear pattern of weight above 4. We also propose an infinite sequence of patterns that we conjecture to be minimal non-linear but have Ω(nlogn) as their extremal function. We prove a weaker statement only, namely that there are infinitely many minimal not quasi-linear patterns among the submatrices of these matrices. This paper proposes a constraint programming model for computing the finite horizon single-item inventory problem with stochastic demands in discrete time periods with service-level constraints under the non-stationary version of the “periodic review, order-up-to-level” policy (i.e., non-stationary (RS) or, simply (RnSn)). It is observed that the modeling process is more natural and the required number of variables is smaller compared to the MIP formulation of the same problem. The computational tests show that the CP approach is more tractable than the conventional MIP formulation. Two different domain reduction methods are proposed to improve the computational performance of solution algorithms. The numerical experiments confirmed the effectiveness of these methods.  相似文献

Single- and multiple-ratio unconstrained hyperbolic 0-1 programming problems are considered. We prove that checking whether these problems have a unique solution is NP-hard. Furthermore, we show that finding the global maximizer of problems with unique solution remains NP-hard. In this study, we reduce the uncertainty embedded in secondary possibility distribution of a type-2 fuzzy variable by fuzzy integral, and apply the proposed reduction method to p-hub center problem, which is a nonlinear optimization problem due to the existence of integer decision variables. In order to optimize p-hub center problem, this paper develops a robust optimization method to describe travel times by employing parametric possibility distributions. We first derive the parametric possibility distributions of reduced fuzzy variables. After that, we apply the reduction methods to p-hub center problem and develop a new generalized value-at-risk (VaR) p-hub center problem, in which the travel times are characterized by parametric possibility distributions. Under mild assumptions, we turn the original fuzzy p-hub center problem into its equivalent parametric mixed-integer programming problems. So, we can solve the equivalent parametric mixed-integer programming problems by general-purpose optimization software. Finally, some numerical experiments are performed to demonstrate the new modeling idea and the efficiency of the proposed solution methods.  相似文献
