Let \(\mathcal{F}\) be a class of groups and G a finite group. We call a set Σ of subgroups of G a G-covering subgroup system for  \(\mathcal{F}\) if \(G\in \mathcal{F}\) whenever \(\Sigma \subseteq \mathcal{F}\). Let p be any prime dividing |G| and P a Sylow p-subgroup of G. Then we write Σ p to denote the set of subgroups of G which contains at least one supplement to G of each maximal subgroup of P. We prove that the sets Σ p and Σ p ∪Σ q , where qp, are G-covering subgroup systems for many classes of finite groups.  相似文献

The work is devoted to the theory of manifolds in the category of G-groups and in the category of power groups. Nilpotent manifolds in these categories are studied. Some new notions in group theory are introduced and studied: G-manifolds, groups of reduced G-identities, commutator subgroups, etc. __________ Translated from Sovremennaya Matematika i Ee Prilozheniya (Contemporary Mathematics and Its Applications), Vol. 46, Algebra, 2007.  相似文献

Lascar described E KP as a composition of E L and the topological closure of E L (Casanovas et al. in J Math Log 1(2):305–319). We generalize this result to some other pairs of equivalence relations. Motivated by an attempt to construct a new example of a non-G-compact theory, we consider the following example. Assume G is a group definable in a structure M. We define a structure M′ consisting of M and X as two sorts, where X is an affine copy of G and in M′ we have the structure of M and the action of G on X. We prove that the Lascar group of M′ is a semi-direct product of the Lascar group of M and G/G L . We discuss the relationship between G-compactness of M and M′. This example may yield new examples of non-G-compact theories. The first author is supported by the Polish Goverment grant N N201 384134. We derive fast recursions to compute the probability that k or more consecutive customer losses take place during a busy period of a queue, the so called k-CCL probability, for regular and oscillating M X /G/1/n systems.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose approximations to compute the steady-state performance measures of the M/GI/N+GI queue receiving Poisson arrivals with N identical servers, and general service and abandonment-time distributions. The approximations are based on scaling a single server M/GI/1+GI queue. For problems involving deterministic and exponential abandon times distributions, we suggest a practical way to compute the waiting time distributions and their moments using the Laplace transform of the workload density function. Our first contribution is numerically computing the workload density function in the M/GI/1+GI queue when the abandon times follow general distributions different from the deterministic and exponential distributions. Then we compute the waiting time distributions and their moments. Next, we scale-up the M/GI/1+GI queue giving rise to our approximations to capture the behavior of the multi-server system. We conduct extensive numerical experiments to test the speed and performance of the approximations, which prove the accuracy of their predictions.   相似文献

In this note, we show that the number of composite integers n ≤ x such that φ(n)|n - 1 is at most O(x^1/2(loglog x)^1/2), thus improving earlier results by Pomerance and by Shan.  相似文献

We consider a queuing system of the type M θ/G/1/b in which the input stream is regulated by a certain threshold level. The asymptotic properties of the first busy period and the number of calls served during this period are studied. __________ Translated from Ukrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal, Vol. 59, No. 7, pp. 884–889, July, 2007.  相似文献

For finite-capacity queuing systems of the type M θ/G/1, convenient formulas for the ergodic distribution of the queue length are found, an estimate for the rate of convergence of the distribution of the queue length in the transient mode to the ergodic distribution is obtained, and computational algorithms for finding the rate of convergence are presented. __________ Translated from Ukrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal, Vol. 59, No. 9, pp. 1169–1178, September, 2007.  相似文献

Let ƒ be a transcendental meromorphic function, a a nonzero finite complex number, and n ⩾ 2 a positive integer. Then ƒ + a(ƒ′) n assumes every complex value infinitely often. This answers a question of Ye for n = 2. A related normality criterion is also given. We consider two families of equivalence classes in the Weyl groups of type B n which are suggested by the study of left cells in unequal parameter Iwahori-Hecke algebras. Both families are indexed by a non-negative integer r. It has been shown that the first family coincides with left cells corresponding to the equal parameter Iwahori-Hecke algebra when r=0; the equivalence classes in the second family agree with left cells corresponding to a special class of choices of unequal parameters when r is sufficiently large. Our main result shows that the two families of equivalence classes coincide, suggesting the structure of left cells for remaining choices of the Iwahori-Hecke algebra parameters.   相似文献

We prove that if the existence of a supercompact cardinal is consistent with ZFC, then it is consistent with ZFC that the p-rank of Ext (G, ℤ) is as large as possible for every prime p and for any torsion-free Abelian group G. Moreover, given an uncountable strong limit cardinal μ of countable cofinality and a partition of Π (the set of primes) into two disjoint subsets Π0 and Π1, we show that in some model which is very close to ZFC, there is an almost free Abelian group G of size 2μ = μ+ such that the p-rank of Ext (G, ℤ) equals 2μ = μ+ for every p ∈ Π0 and 0 otherwise, that is, for p ∈ Π1. We consider an M [X]/G/1 retrial queue subject to breakdowns where the retrial time is exponential and independent of the number of customers applying for service. If a coming batch of customers finds the server idle, one of the arriving customers begins his service immediately and the rest joins a retrial group (called orbit) to repeat his request later; otherwise, if the server is busy or down, all customers of the coming batch enter the orbit. It is assumed that the server has a constant failure rate and arbitrary repair time distribution. We study the ergodicity of the embedded Markov chain, its stationary distribution and the joint distribution of the server state and the orbit size in steady-state. The orbit and system size distributions are obtained as well as some performance measures of the system. The stochastic decomposition property and the asymptotic behavior under high rate of retrials are discussed. We also analyse some reliability problems, the k-busy period and the ordinary busy period of our retrial queue. Besides, we give a recursive scheme to compute the distribution of the number of served customers during the k-busy period and the ordinary busy period. The effects of several parameters on the system are analysed numerically. I. Atencia’s and Moreno’s research is supported by the MEC through the project MTM2005-01248.  相似文献

We investigate GI X /M(n)//N systems with stochastic customer acceptance policy, function of the customer batch size and the number of customers in the system at its arrival. We address the time-dependent and long-run analysis of the number of customers in the system at prearrivals and postarrivals of batches and seen by customers at their arrival to the system, as well as customer blocking probabilities. These results are then used to derive the continuous-time long-run distribution of the number of customers in the system. Our analysis combines Markov chain embedding with uniformization and uses stochastic ordering as a way to bound the errors of the computed performance measures.   相似文献

Let S be a pomonoid and I a proper right ideal of S. In a previous paper, using the amalgamated coproduct A(I) of two copies of S S over I, we were able to solve one of the problems posed in S. Bulman-Fleming et al. (Commun. Algebra 34:1291–1317, 2006). In the present paper, we investigate further flatness properties of A(I). We also solve another problem stated in the paper cited above. Namely, we determine the condition under which Rees factor S-posets have property (P w ). Research supported by nwnu-kjcxgc-03-18.  相似文献

In this paper, we show, among other results, that if X is a [separable] locally compact space X [satisfying the first countability axiom] then the space Cc (X) has countable tightness [if and only if it has bounding tightness] if and only if it is Frechet-Urysohn, if and only if Cc (X) contains a dense (LM) subspace and if and only if X is a-compact.  相似文献

The hyperoperations, called theta-operations (δ), are motivated from the usual property, which the derivative has on the derivation of a product of functions. Using any map on a set, one can define δ-operations. In this paper, we continue our study on the δ-operations on groupoids, rings, fields and vector spaces or on the corresponding hyperstructures. Using δ-operations one obtains, mainly, Hwstructures, which form the largest class of the hyperstructures. For representation theory of hyperstructures, by hypermatrices, one needs special Hv-rings or Hy-fields, so these hyperstructures can be used. Moreover, we study the relation of these δ-structures with other classes of hyperstructures, especially with the Hv-structures.  相似文献

The concepts of K-large and generalized K-large Abelian groups are introduced, and their main properties and interconnections are studied. We consider groups that are K-large (generalized K-large) with respect to the class of all groups and torsion-free groups. The main focus is on the case where K consists of bounded p-groups for an infinite set of prime numbers p. __________ Translated from Fundamentalnaya i Prikladnaya Matematika, Vol. 13, No. 3, pp. 51–60, 2007.  相似文献
