We present a local exponential fitting hybridized mixed finite-element method for convection–diffusion problem on a bounded domain with mixed Dirichlet Neuman boundary conditions. With a new technique that interpretes the algebraic system after static condensation as a bilinear form acting on certain lifting operators we prove an a priori error estimate on the Lagrange multipliers that requires minimal regularity. While an extension of more classical arguments provide an estimate for the other solution components.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a free boundary value problem for two-phase liquid-gas model with mass-dependent viscosity coefficient when both the initial liquid and gas masses connect to vacuum with a discontinuity. This is an extension of the paper [S. Evje, K.H. Karlsen, Global weak solutions for a viscous liquid-gas model with singular pressure law, http://www.irisresearch.no/docsent/emp.nsf/wvAnsatte/SEV]. Just as in [S. Evje, K.H. Karlsen, Global weak solutions for a viscous liquid-gas model with singular pressure law, http://www.irisresearch.no/docsent/emp.nsf/wvAnsatte/SEV], the gas is assumed to be polytropic whereas the liquid is treated as an incompressible fluid. We give the proof of the global existence and uniqueness of weak solutions when β∈(0,1], which have improved the previous result of Evje and Karlsen, and get the asymptotic behavior result, also we obtain the regularity of the solutions by energy method.  相似文献

We present Hölder estimates and Hölder gradient estimates for a class of free boundary problems with tangential oblique derivative boundary conditions provided the oblique vector β does not vanish at any point on the boundary. We also establish the existence result for a general class of quasilinear degenerate problems of this type including nonlinear wave systems and the unsteady transonic small disturbance equation.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a heat equation with nonlinear boundary condition occurring in population genetics, the selection–migration problem for alleles in a region, considering flow of genes throughout the boundary. Such a problem determines a gradient flow in a convenient phase space and then the dynamics for large times depends heavily on the knowledge of the equilibrium solutions. We address the questions of the existence of a nontrivial equilibrium solution and its regularity.  相似文献

We present the existence of the subsonic solution to a two-dimensional Riemann problem governed by a self-similar nonlinear wave equation where the boundary of the subsonic region consists of a transonic shock and the sonic circle. Thus the governing equation becomes a free boundary problem on the transonic shock and degenerates on the sonic circle. By utilizing the barrier methods and iterative methods, we show the well-posedness of the transonic shock in the entire subsonic region and thus establish the global solution. This result does not rely on any smallness of Riemann data.  相似文献

The Busemann-equation is a classical equation coming from fluid dynamics. The well-posed problem and regularity of solution of Busemann-equation with nonlinear term are interesting and important. The Busemann-equation is elliptic in y>0 and is degenerate at the line y=0 in R2. With a special nonlinear absorb term, we study a nonlinear degenerate elliptic equation with mixed boundary conditions in a piecewise smooth domain. By means of elliptic regularization technique, a delicate prior estimate and compact argument, we show that the solution of mixed boundary value problem of Busemann-equation is smooth in the interior and Lipschitz continuous up to the degenerate boundary on some conditions. The result is better than the result of classical boundary degenerate elliptic equation.  相似文献

In this paper we prove the optimal boundary regularity under natural structural conditions for a large class of nonlinear elliptic equations with singular terms near the boundary. By a careful construction of super- and sub-solutions, we obtain precise growth estimates for solutions at the boundary and reduce the boundary regularity to the interior one by a rescaling argument.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a nonlinear Neumann problem driven by the pp-Laplacian with a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequality). Using minimax methods based on the nonsmooth critical point theory together with suitable truncation techniques, we show that the problem has at least three nontrivial smooth solutions. Two of these solutions have constant sign (one is positive, the other negative).  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Dirichlet problem for a class of infinitely degenerate nonlinear elliptic equations with singular potential term. By using the logarithmic Sobolev inequality and Hardy's inequality, the existence and regularity of multiple nontrivial solutions have been proved.  相似文献

We consider an elliptic PDE problem related with fluid mechanics. We show that level sets of rescaled solutions satisfy the zero mean curvature equation in a suitable weak viscosity sense. In particular, such level sets cannot be touched from below (above) by a convex (concave) paraboloid in a suitably small neighborhood.  相似文献

The aims of this paper are to discuss global existence and uniqueness of solution for a class of non-Newtonian fluids with vacuum in one-dimensional bounded interval. The important point in this paper is that we allow the initial vacuum. In particular, these results are used to prove similar results for more general non-Newtonian fluids, and applied to numerical computation. We study a class of mean curvature equations −Mu=H+λup where M denotes the mean curvature operator and for p?1. We show that there exists an extremal parameter λ such that this equation admits a minimal weak solutions for all λ∈[0,λ], while no weak solutions exists for λ>λ (weak solutions will be defined as critical points of a suitable functional). In the radially symmetric case, we then show that minimal weak solutions are classical solutions for all λ∈[0,λ] and that another branch of classical solutions exists in a neighborhood (λη,λ) of λ.  相似文献

We investigate a steady flow of a viscous compressible fluid with inflow boundary condition on the density and inhomogeneous slip boundary conditions on the velocity in a cylindrical domain Ω=Ω0×(0,L)∈R3. We show existence of a solution , p>3, where v is the velocity of the fluid and ρ is the density, that is a small perturbation of a constant flow (, ). We also show that this solution is unique in a class of small perturbations of . The term u⋅∇w in the continuity equation makes it impossible to show the existence applying directly a fixed point method. Thus in order to show existence of the solution we construct a sequence (vn,ρn) that is bounded in and satisfies the Cauchy condition in a larger space L(0,L;L2(Ω0)) what enables us to deduce that the weak limit of a subsequence of (vn,ρn) is in fact a strong solution to our problem.  相似文献

We prove the global existence of solutions to a model for a viscous, compressible, barotropic fluid initially occupying a general open subset of a finite, one-dimensional interval. The fluid equations are applied only on the support of the density, understood in the sense of distributions. This support must be tracked and accommodation must be made for the possibly infinite number of collisions of fluid packets occurring on a possibly dense set of collision times. Our approach avoids certain nonphysical properties of solutions which are constructed as limits of solutions in which artificial mass has been inserted.  相似文献

A singularly perturbed convection-diffusion problem posed on the unit square is considered. Its solution may have exponential and parabolic boundary layers, and corner singularities may also be present. Pointwise bounds on the solution and its derivatives are derived. The dependence of these bounds on the small diffusion coefficient, on the regularity of the data, and on the compatibility of the data at the corners of the domain are all made explicit. The bounds are derived by decomposing the solution into a sum of solutions of elliptic boundary-value problems posed on half-planes, then analyzing these simpler problems.  相似文献

We establish C2,αC2,α-estimates for solutions of a class of quasilinear elliptic equations with free boundary and tangential derivative boundary problems. Using this regularity result we show the existence of global solutions to regular shock reflections for the unsteady transonic small disturbance (UTSD) equation. We also present Lipschitz estimates near the degenerate Dirichlet boundary (the sonic boundary) for the UTSD equation.  相似文献
