 In this paper we study warped product CR-submanifolds in Kaehler manifolds and introduce the notion of CR-warped products. We prove several fundamental properties of CR-warped products in Kaehler manifolds and establish a general inequality for an arbitrary CR-warped product in an arbitrary Kaehler manifold. We then investigate CR-warped products in a general Kaehler manifold which satisfy the equality case of the inequality. Finally we classify CR-warped products in complex Euclidean space which satisfy the equality. (Received 24 August 2000; in revised form 19 February 2001)  相似文献

Previously the two of the authors defined a notion of dual Calabi-Yau manifolds in a G2 manifold, and described a process to obtain them. Here we apply this process to a compact G2 manifold, constructed by Joyce, and as a result we obtain a pair of Borcea-Voisin Calabi-Yau manifolds, which are known to be mirror duals of each other.  相似文献

We study locally and globally ø-quasiconformally symmetric Sasakian manifolds. We show that a globally ø-quasiconformally symmetric Sasakian manifold is globally ø-symmetric. Some observations for a 3-dimensional locally ø-symmetric Sasakian manifold are given. We also give an example of a 3-dimensional locally ø-quasiconformally symmetric Sasakian manifold.  相似文献

We survey on the geometry of the tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold, endowed with the classical metric established by S. Sasaki 60 years ago. Following the results of Sasaki, we try to write and deduce them by different means. Questions of vector fields, mainly those arising from the base, are related as invariants of the classical metric, contact and Hermitian structures. Attention is given to the natural notion of extension or complete lift of a vector field, from the base to the tangent manifold. Few results are original, but finally new equations of the mirror map are considered.  相似文献

For a conformal manifold we introduce the notion of an ambient connection, an affine connection on an ambient manifold of the conformal manifold, possibly with torsion, and with conditions relating it to the conformal structure. The purpose of this construction is to realise the normal conformal Tractor holonomy as affine holonomy of such a connection. We give an example of an ambient connection for which this is the case, and which is torsion free if we start the construction with a C-space, and in addition Ricci-flat if we start with an Einstein manifold. Thus, for a C-space this example leads to an ambient metric in the weaker sense of Čap and Gover, and for an Einstein space to a Ricci-flat ambient metric in the sense of Fefferman and Graham. We study a 2-dimensional manifold that admits a homogeneous action of a 3-dimensional Lie group G, and has a 2-form invariant under G. We show that such a manifold can be realized as a surface in the affine 3-space, and list such realizations.   相似文献

We continue our study of the space of geodesics of a manifold with linear connection. We obtain sufficient conditions for a product to have a space of geodesics which is a manifold. We investigate the relationship of the space of geodesics of a covering manifold to that of the base space. We obtain sufficient conditions for a space to be geodesically connected in terms of the topology of its space of geodesics.  相似文献

The concept of harmonic pseudo-horizontally homothetic submersion, alias harmonic PHH submersion, expresses the more geometric notion of smooth family of minimal submanifolds indexed by a K?hler parameter manifold. We give results that allow to construct harmonic PHH submersions by solving some implicit equations and we apply this method to the case of sphere bundles. First, we derive a new second variation formula which holds for minimal Legendrian submanifolds in Sasakian manifolds. Using this, we prove that any minimal Legendrian submanifold in an η-Einstein Sasakian manifold with “nonpositive” η-Ricci constant is stable. Next we introduce the notion of the Legendrian stability of minimal Legendrian submanifolds in Sasakian manifolds. Using our second variation formula, we find a general criterion for the Legendrian stability of minimal Legendrian submanifolds in η-Einstein Sasakian manifolds with “positive” η-Ricci constant.  相似文献

 A CR-submanifold N of a Kaehler manifold is called a CR-warped product if N is the warped product of a holomorphic submanifold and a totally real submanifold of . This notion of CR-warped products was introduced in part I of this series. It was proved in part I that every CR-warped product in a Kaehler manifold satisfies a basic inequality: . The classification of CR-warped products in complex Euclidean space satisfying the equality case of the inequality is archived in part I. In this paper, we prove some rigidity theorems forM by the existence of a nice minimal hypersurface and a sphere theorem aboutM. The recent definition of slice regular function of several quaternionic variables suggests a new notion of quaternionic manifold. We give the definition of quaternionic regular manifold, as a space locally modeled on , in a slice regular sense. A Riemannian metric g with Ricci curvature r is called nontrivial quasi-Einstein, in a sense given by Case, Shu and Wei, if it satisfies (−a/f)∇df+r=λg, for a smooth nonconstant function f and constants λ and a>0. If a is a positive integer, it was noted by Besse that such a metric appears as the base metric for certain warped Einstein metrics. This equation also appears in the study of smooth metric measure spaces. We provide a local classification and an explicit construction of Kähler metrics conformal to nontrivial quasi-Einstein metrics, subject to the following conditions: local Kähler irreducibility, the conformal factor giving rise to a Killing potential, and the quasi-Einstein function f being a function of the Killing potential. Additionally, the classification holds in real dimension at least six. The metric, along with the Killing potential, form an SKR pair, a notion defined by Derdzinski and Maschler. It implies that the manifold is biholomorphic to an open set in the total space of a CP1 bundle whose base manifold admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. If the manifold is additionally compact, it is a total space of such a bundle or complex projective space. Additionally, a result of Case, Shu and Wei on the Kähler reducibility of nontrivial Kähler quasi-Einstein metrics is reproduced in dimension at least six in a more explicit form.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the stability of the characteristic vector field of a compact K-contact manifold with respect to the energy and volume functionals when we consider on the manifold a two-parameter variation of the metric. First of all, we multiply the metric in the direction of the characteristic vector field by a constant and then we change the metric by homotheties. We will study to what extent the results obtained in [V. Borrelli, Stability of the characteristic vector field of a Sasakian manifold, Soochow J. Math. 30 (2004) 283-292. Erratum on the article: Stability of the characteristic vector field of a Sasakian manifold, Soochow J. Math. 32 (2006) 179-180] for Sasakian manifolds are valid for a general K-contact manifold. Finally, as an example, we will study the stability of Hopf vector fields on Berger spheres when we consider homotheties of Berger metrics.  相似文献

We show that a three-dimensional contact metric manifold is locally homogeneous if and only if it is ball-homogeneous and satisfies the condition ∇ξτ=2aτϕ, with a constant. Schur's theorem states that an isotropic Riemannian manifold of dimension greater than two has constant curvature. It is natural to guess that compact almost isotropic Riemannian manifolds of dimension greater than two are close to spaces of almost constant curvature. We take the curvature anisotropy as the discrepancy of the sectional curvatures at a point. The main result of this paper is that Riemannian manifolds in Cheeger's class ℜ(n,d,V,A) withL 1-small integral anisotropy haveL p-small change of the sectional curvature over the manifold. We also estimate the deviation of the metric tensor from that of constant curvature in theW p 2 -norm, and prove that compact almost isotropic spaces inherit the differential structure of a space form. These stability results are based on the generalization of Schur' theorem to metric spaces.  相似文献

We study the local structures of nearly Kähler manifolds with vanishing Bochner curvature tensor as defined by Tricerri and Vanhecke (TV). We show that there does not exist a TV Bochner flat strict nearly Kähler manifold in 2n(?10) dimension and determine the local structures of the manifolds in 6 and 8 dimensions.  相似文献
