The present paper accounted for the synthesis, differential scanning calorimetric and vibrational spectroscopy of [C2H5NH3]2ZnCl4grown at room temperature. Differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) disclosed five phase transitions at T1=231 K, T2=234 K, T3=237 K, T4=247 K and T5=312 K. The temperature dependence of the dielectric constant at different temperatures proved that this compound is ferroelectric below 238 K. Raman spectra as function temperature have been used to characterize these transitions and their nature, which indicates a change of the some peak near the transitions phase. The analysis of the wavenumber and the line width based on the order–disorder model allowed to obtain information relative to the thermal coefficient and the activation energy near the transitions phase.  相似文献

Magnetic and dielectric properties have been investigated for Bi2CuO4, which has the same chemical formula as that of the parent materials of cuprate superconductors R2CuO4 (R: rare earths). Magnetization measurements show the antiferromagnetic transition of the Cu2+ spins at ~42 K, as reported previously. Dielectric measurements for the frequencies of 1 kHz to 1 MHz show that the dielectric constants are 100–500 at room temperature. The dielectric dispersion reveals that the dielectric response lacks spatial coherence, a property which indicates the possible existence of phase separation as suggested for La2CuO4. The imaginary part of dielectric response gives the activation energy of 0.22 eV, suggesting that the dielectric response is governed by the electron hopping between the Cu ions.  相似文献

The crystal structure and physical properties of BaFe2As2, BaCo2As2, and BaNi2As2 single crystals are surveyed. BaFe2As2 gives a magnetic and structural transition at TN = 132(1) K, BaCo2As2 is a paramagnetic metal, while BaNi2As2 has a structural phase transition at T0 = 131 K, followed by superconductivity below Tc = 0.69 K. The bulk superconductivity in Co-doped BaFe2As2 below Tc = 22 K is demonstrated by resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat data. In contrast to the cuprates, the Fe-based system appears to tolerate considerable disorder in the transition metal layers. First principles calculations for BaFe1.84Co0.16As2 indicate the inter-band scattering due to Co is weak.  相似文献

The hydrostatic pressure effect on the dielectric properties of (NH4)2H2P2O6 ferroelectric crystal was studied for pressures from 0.1 MPa to 360 MPa and for temperatures from 100 to 190 K. The pressure–temperature phase diagram obtained is linear with increasing pressure. The paraelectric–ferroelectric phase transition temperature decreases with increasing pressure with the pressure coefficient dTc/dp=?5.16×10?2 K MPa?1. Additionally, the pressure dependences of Curie–Weiss constants for the crystal in paraelectric (C+) and ferroelectric (C?) phases are evaluated and discussed. The possible mechanism of paraelectric–ferroelectric phase transition is also discussed.  相似文献

Aiming at the development of new proton conducting solids, recent studies of the NaH2PO4·H2O–NaH2AsO4·H2O system have lead to the synthesis of a new compound NaH2(PO4)0.48(AsO4)0.52·H2O (NDAP). Calorimetric studies have confirmed the presence of four reversible phase transitions (abbreviated by PhT), at 257/270 (PhT, IV), 261/290 (PhT, III), 267/301 (PhT, II) and 317/317.5 K (PhT, I) (for cooling/heating processes, respectively). It is shown that the III and IV phase transitions are of a first order type, with a “order-disorder and displacive” character, accompanied by specific dielectric anomalies. The behavior of the dielectric constant εr and of tan δ shows that, at 272 K, the (PhT, IV) could be ferroelectric–paraelectric. As for the (PhT, III) at 296 K, it leads to a superionic–protonic phase; a jump in the conductivity is associated to this transition with an unusual high value of conductivity 1.07×10?4 Ω?1 cm?1 and a low activation energy 0.39 eV (Kh. Jarraya et al.). Quandratic nonlinear (NLO) properties of NDAP powder was confirmed efficiency of the grown crystal by the Kurtz and Perry second harmonic generation (SHG) technique.  相似文献

The polycrystalline sample of Na1/2Dy1/2TiO3 ceramic was prepared by a standard high-temperature solid-state reaction technique. X-ray structural analysis confirmed the formation of single-phase (with minor secondary phase) compound in the orthorhombic (distorted tetragonal) crystal system at room temperature. Study of surface morphology by scanning electron microscope exhibits uniform distribution of rectangular/cubical grains with less voids. The elemental composition of the prepared compound was confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy microanalysis. Detailed studies of dielectric properties exhibit a dielectric anomaly at 94 °C suggesting a possible ferroelectric–paraelectric phase transition in the compound. The activation energy (Ea), calculated from the temperature dependence of ac conductivity plot, was found to be small (∼0.1 eV) in low temperature and large (∼0.5 eV) in high temperature region.  相似文献

The crystal structure and phase transition temperature of [N(C2H5)4]2CuBr4 are studied using X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC); measurements revealed a tetragonal structure and the two phase transition temperatures TC of 204 K and 255.5 K. The structural geometry near TC is discussed in terms of the chemical shifts for 1H magic angle spinning (MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and 13C cross-polarization (CP)/MAS NMR. The two inequivalent ethyl groups are distinguishable by the 13C NMR spectrum. The molecular motions are discussed in terms of the spin–lattice relaxation times T in the rotating frame for 1H MAS NMR and 13C CP/MAS NMR. The T results reveal that the ethyl groups undergo tumbling motion, and furthermore that the ethyl groups are highly mobile.  相似文献

A unique and rare opportunity of revealing the nature of the spin-density-wave (SDW) fluctuation in the quasi-one-dimensional organic conductor (TMTSF)2PF6 has been provided by our AC impedance measurements above the SDW transition temperature. A close resemblance of the low-frequency dielectric response in the range between 20 K and the temperature of maximum resistivity Tmax  80 K to that in the SDW ground state was revealed, with quite compatible exponents for their power law dependencies. The SDW fluctuation has thus been identified in the 2D Fermi liquid regime, which can be regarded as a precursor phase of the SDW ground state.  相似文献

Perovskite types Ba1−xBi2x/3Ti0.75Zr0.25O3 (with x = 0.0, 0.025, 0.05) ceramics have been prepared through solid state reaction route. The room temperature XRD study suggests that all the compositions have single phase cubic symmetry with space group Pm-3m. Temperature dependent dielectric studies of the ceramics have been investigated in the frequency range of 50 Hz–1 MHz. The densities of the samples are determined using Archimedes’ principle and found to be ∼98% of X-ray density. The dielectric study revealed diffuse phase transition of second order. A broad dielectric anomaly coupled with the shift of dielectric maxima toward a higher temperature with increasing frequency indicates the relaxor-type behavior in the ceramics. The diffusivity increases with increase in Bi contents in the studied composition range. The transition temperature decreases with increase in Bi contents due to the decrease in grain size.  相似文献

We have observed a softening of phonons and a structural phase transition in a superconducting Ba0.59K0.41BiO3 (Tc = 31 K) single crystal using elastic and inelastic neutron scattering measurements. The soft phonon occurs for the [1 1 1] transverse acoustic mode at the zone boundary. The phonon energies in this vicinity are found to continuously decrease with decreasing temperature from above room temperature. This softening stops at a temperature close to Ts, where a structural phase transition from cubic to tetragonal symmetry occurs. The overall results are consistent with previous data that reported phonon softening and a (0.5, 0.5, 0.5) type superstructure in several Ba1?xKxBiO3 systems. However, we also find weaker (0.5, 0.5, 0) type superstructure peaks that reveal an additional component to the modulation. No significant change related to the superconductivity was observed for these soft phonon energies or linewidths.  相似文献

Specific heat (SH) measurements on TbMn2(H,D)2 powders have been performed in the temperature range from 2 to 350 K, in zero magnetic field and in 9 T. Due to the low heat conductivity of the samples, the measurements were carried out on a mixed Cu- and sample-powder pellet. For TbMn2, the anti-ferromagnetic phase transition was manifest by a single SH peak at TN=47 K, whereas a double SH peak at 281 and 288 K and an upturn below 5 K were observed for the hydride sample. Upon applying the magnetic field of 9 T, the SH upturn was suppressed, whereas no visible influence was found on the specific heat in the whole temperature range above 10 K as well as on the double peak.  相似文献

We present the results of magnetization, susceptibility and specific-heat measurements of the high-temperature (HT) and low-temperature (LT) phases of PrIr2Si2 performed on single-crystalline samples. The HT and LT phases adopt the tetragonal CaBe2Ge2-type and ThCr2Si2-type structure, respectively. We have found no magnetic phase transition for the HT phase at temperatures down to 2 K. On the other hand, the LT phase apparently orders antiferromagnetically (AF) at 45.5 K and undergoes a transition to another AF phase at Tt=23.7 K. Complexity of the magnetic phase diagram is amplified by two metamagnetic transitions induced by magnetic field applied along the c-axis at temperatures below Tt. The results will be discussed with respect to other polymorphic compounds PrNi2As2 and UCo2Ge2.  相似文献

The structural, transport and magnetic properties of MgB2 superconductor heavily blended with Mg is studied. The samples are synthesized with a new approach in both, pressed carbon environment and in flowing argon. The excess magnesium used is observed to play dual role: one being the prevention of Mg losses during the synthesis process and hence maintaining the stoichiometry of MgB2 phase, and second being the formation of Mg milieu probably all around the MgB2 grains to give a dense structure. Excess Mg also improves the grain connectivity by going into the pores and there by minimizing the insulating junctions. The residual resistivity of the sample is observed to decrease from 57.02 μΩ cm to 10.042 μΩ cm as it is progressively filled with superconductor–normal–superconductor (SNS) type junctions amongst the grains by the virtue of increased magnesium content. The synthesized samples devoid of porosity show the superconducting transition, Tc in the range of 39–34 K as of clean MgB2 samples, though overloaded with Mg. The excess Mg resulted in enhanced critical current density, Jc from 6.8 × 103 A cm?2 to 5.9 × 104 A cm?2 at 20 K and 10 kOe, with reasonable decrease in the superconducting transition. Thus our samples being overloaded with Mg impart mechanical strength and competitive superconducting properties, which forms a part of interest.  相似文献

At ambient pressure CaFe2As2 has been found to undergo a first order phase transition from a high temperature, tetragonal phase to a low-temperature orthorhombic/antiferromagnetic phase upon cooling through T  170 K. With the application of pressure this phase transition is rapidly suppressed and by ~0.35 GPa it is replaced by a first order phase transition to a low-temperature collapsed tetragonal, non-magnetic phase. Further application of pressure leads to an increase of the tetragonal to collapsed tetragonal phase transition temperature, with it crossing room temperature by ~1.7 GPa. Given the exceptionally large and anisotropic change in unit cell dimensions associated with the collapsed tetragonal phase, the state of the pressure medium (liquid or solid) at the transition temperature has profound effects on the low-temperature state of the sample. For He-gas cells the pressure is as close to hydrostatic as possible and the transitions are sharp and the sample appears to be single phase at low temperatures. For liquid media cells at temperatures below media freezing, the CaFe2As2 transforms when it is encased by a frozen media and enters into a low-temperature multi-crystallographic-phase state, leading to what appears to be a strain stabilized superconducting state at low temperatures.  相似文献

Fluorinated ceramics with initial composition (1−x)CaTiO3+xPbF2+xLiF were sintered at 950 °C. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of the samples showed the formation of a novel solid solution in the initial composition range 0⩽x⩽0.125. SEM observations were performed on fractured ceramics and DSC analyses were carried out from room temperature up to 600 °C. Three second-order phase transitions were detected for all the samples. Capacitors were prepared from the pre-sintered ceramics then dielectric measurements were performed as a function of temperature in the frequency range 102–4×107 Hz. The ε′r−T curves exhibit the profile of dielectrics for class I capacitors, however the values of tan δ are too high (tan δ⩾1%).  相似文献

The compounds Li(4−x)/3Mn2(1−x)/3CoxO2 (0 < x < 0.5) were prepared by the sol–gel technique. X-ray diffraction patterns of these compounds were identified as α-NaFeO2 type layered structure, though some super-structure lines, related to the ordered array of Li and transition metal ions in the transition metal layer, were observed. The magnetic susceptibility exhibited an antiferromagnetic transition around 40 K for x < 0.2, however the specimens with x > 0.3 had no magnetic transition. The magnetic percolation may explain these magnetic variations. The electrochemical performances were evaluated for the compound of x = 0.5, and it was seen that the electrochemical properties were sensitive to the potential window. Additionally, it was also found that the discharge capacity strongly depended on the preparation temperature; it took a maximum value at the preparation temperature of 900 °C. The discharge capacity is sensitive not only to the cation mixing degree but also to the particle size.  相似文献

BaBi4Ti4O15 (BBT) ceramic was synthesized using mixed oxide route and the structural and electrical properties were investigated systematically. The structural studies confirmed it to be an n=4 member of the Aurivillius oxide. A broad dielectric peak with frequency dependent dielectric maximum temperature was observed. The dielectric relaxation obeyed the Vogel–Fulcher relation wherein f0=8.37E+14 Hz, Ea=0.13 eV, and Tf=608.18 K. The diffuseness parameter γ established the relaxor nature and it was attributed to the A-site cationic disorder. The specimen exhibited the excellent reproducibility in the measurements of displacement current, a remnant polarization of 5.4 μC/cm2, and a coercive field of 4.03 MV/m. The room temperature piezoelectric coefficient d33 was found to be 23 pC/N and the field-induced strain S was about 0.018% at the 8 MV/m electric field.  相似文献

A comparative investigation of the much-studied La2NiO4+δ (n = 1) phase and the higher-order Ruddlesden-Popper phases, Lan+1NinO3n+1 (n = 2 and 3), has been undertaken to determine their suitability as cathodes for intermediate-temperature solid-oxide fuel cells. As n is increased, a structural phase transition is observed from tetragonal I4/mmm in the hyperstoichiometric La2NiO4.15 (n = 1) to orthorhombic Fmmm in the oxygen-deficient phases, La3Ni2O6.95 (n = 2) and La4Ni3O9.78 (n = 3). High temperature d.c. electrical conductivity measurements reveal a dramatic increase in overall values from n = 1, 2 to 3 with metallic behavior observed for La4Ni3O9.78. Impedance spectroscopy measurements on symmetrical cells with La0.9Sr0.10Ga0.80Mg0.20O3−δ (LSGM-9182) as the electrolyte show a systematic improvement in the electrode performance from La2NiO4.15 to La4Ni3O9.78 with ∼ 1 Ω cm2 observed at 1073 K for the latter. Long-term thermal stability tests show no impurity formation when La3Ni2O6.95 and La4Ni3O9.78 are heated at 1123 K for 2 weeks in air, in contrast to previously reported data for La2NiO4.15. The relative thermal expansion coefficients of La3Ni2O6.95 and La4Ni3O9.78 were found to be similar at ∼ 13.2 × 10 6 K 1 from 348 K to 1173 K in air compared to 13.8 × 10 6 K 1 for La2NiO4.15. Taken together, these observations suggest favourable use for the n = 2 and 3 phases as cathodes in intermediate-temperature solid-oxide fuel cells when compared to the much-studied La2NiO4+δ (n = 1) phase.  相似文献

Polycrystalline sample of NaCa2V5O15 (NCV) with tungsten bronze structure was prepared by a mixed oxide method at relatively low temperature (i.e. 630 °C). Preliminary structural analysis of the compound showed an orthorhombic crystal structure at room temperature. Microstructural study showed that the grains are uniformly and densely distributed over the surface of the sample. Detailed studies of dielectric properties showed that the compound has dielectric anomaly above the room temperature (i.e. 289 °C), and shows hysteresis in polarization study. The electrical parameters of the compound were studied using complex impedance spectroscopy technique in a wide temperature (23–500 °C) and frequency (102–106 Hz) ranges. The impedance plots showed only bulk (grain) contributions, and there is a non-Debye type of dielectric dispersion. Complex modulus spectrum confirms the grain contribution only in the compound as observed in the impedance spectrum. The activation energy, calculated from the ac conductivity of the compound, was found to be 0.20–0.30 eV. These values of activation energy suggest that the conduction process is of mixed type (i.e. ionic–polaronic).  相似文献

Here, we report the synthesis and characterization of sulphur-substituted iron telluride i.e. FeTe1?xSx; (x = 0–30 %) system and study the impact of low temperature oxygen (O2) annealing as well. Rietveld analysis of room temperature X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns shows that all the compounds are crystallized in a tetragonal structure (space group P4/nmm) and no secondary phases are observed. Lattice constants are decreased with increasing S concentration. The parent compound of the system i.e. FeTe does not exhibit superconductivity but shows an anomaly in the resistivity measurement at around 78 K, which corresponds to a structural phase transition. Heat capacity Cp(T) measurement also confirms the structural phase transition of FeTe compound. Superconductivity appears by S substitution; the onset of superconducting transition temperature is about 8 K for FeTe0.75S0.25 sample. Thermoelectric power measurements S(T) also shows the superconducting transition at around 7 K for FeTe0.75S0.25 sample. The upper critical fields Hc2(10%), Hc2(50%) and Hc2(90%) are estimated to be 400, 650 and 900 kOe respectively at 0 K by applying Ginzburg Landau (GL) equation. Interestingly, superconducting volume fraction is increased with low temperature (200 °C) O2 annealing at normal pressure. Detailed investigations related to structural (XRD), transport [S(T), R(T)H], magnetization (AC and DC susceptibility) and thermal [Cp(T)] measurements for FeTe1?xS:O2 system are presented and discussed.  相似文献
