A new semiorganic nonlinear optical bis (thiourea) cadmium zinc chloride (BTCZC) crystal has been synthesized. BTCZC single crystals were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. The solubility of BTCZC has been determined for various temperatures. Single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) study has been carried out to identify the lattice parameters. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studies confirm the various functional groups present in the grown crystal. The transmission and absorption spectra of this crystal show that the lower cut off wavelength lies at 260nm. The thermal analyses confirmed that the crystal is stable upto 201 degrees C. The nonlinear optical (NLO) property of the grown crystal has been confirmed by Kurtz-powder second harmonic generation (SHG) test.  相似文献

In this article, the effect of magnesium doping on the properties of bis(thiourea)zinc(II) chloride (BTZC) crystals has been described. The incorporation of Mg(II) into the crystal lattice was confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and quantified by inductively coupled plasma technique. The powder X-ray diffraction and FT-IR spectral analyses indicate that the crystal undergoes considerable stress as result of doping. SEM studies of pure and doped samples indicate the formation of structural defect centers in BTZC crystals. The TG?CDTA studies reveal the purity of the materials, and no decomposition is observed up to the melting point. Improved crystalline perfection by doping is observed by high-resolution X-ray diffraction. High transmittance is observed, and the cutoff ?? is ~295?nm.  相似文献

The influence of sodium doping on the properties of bis(thiourea)zinc(II) chloride crystals has been described. The reduction in the intensity observed in powder X-ray diffraction of doped specimen and slight shifts in vibrational frequencies confirm the lattice stress as a result of doping. The incorporation of Na(I) into the crystal lattice was confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Surface morphological changes due to doping of the alkali metal are observed by scanning electron microscopy. The TG?CDTA studies reveal the purity of the material and no decomposition is observed up to the melting point. The high resolution X-ray diffraction studies reveal that the crystalline quality is improved considerably by doping with alkali metal. High transmittance is observed and cut off ?? is ~270?nm.  相似文献

The influence of alkali metal potassium(I)-doping on the properties of tetrakis(thiourea)nickel(II) chloride crystals has been investigated. The variation in the intensity observed in powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) of doped specimen and slight shifts in vibrational frequencies confirm the lattice stress as a result of doping. Surface morphological changes due to doping of the alkali metal are observed by scanning electron microscopy. The incorporation of K(I)- into the crystal lattice was confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Lattice parameters are determined by single crystal XRD analysis. The thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis studies reveal the purity of the materials and no decomposition is observed up to the melting point. The crystal is further characterized by UV–Vis and Kurtz powder technique.  相似文献

Thiourea Urea Zinc (II) Chloride (TUZC), a new semiorganic non-linear optical material has been synthesized. The solubility studies have been carried out at room temperature. Single crystals of different proportions of TUZC have been grown by slow evaporation of saturated aqueous solution at room temperature. The FTIR and UV spectral bands have been compared with urea, thiourea and bis Thiourea Zinc Chloride (BTZC). The TG curve showed a two steps mass loss on heating the compound between 30 and 800 °C corresponding to two exothermic DTA peaks at 181–183 and 250–252 oC.  相似文献

A new semi organic Non-linear optical (NLO) crystal thiourea urea magnesium chloride (TUMC) was grown by slow evaporation technique at room temperature. Good quality single crystals were grown within 20?days. The FTIR spectrum of title compound was recorded and vibrational assignments were made. The recorded UV?Cvis spectrum shows the optical transmission property of the crystal. The Second harmonic generation (SHG) of TUMC crystal was tested by Kurtz?CPerry method using Nd:YAG laser and the result confirms that the grown crystal exhibits NLO property. To analyse the thermal stability of the crystal TG/DTA analysis were made. Detailed structural analysis of the compound is under progress.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) of vanadyl ion as an impurity in polycrystalline zinc tris thiourea sulfate (ZTS), a prominent nonlinear optical host, has been studied at X-band frequencies at room temperature. Spin-Hamiltonian parameters and molecular orbital coefficients have been calculated. The optical absorption spectra have also been studied to deduce the crystal field parameters.  相似文献

The FT-Raman spectra of Se(tu)2Cl2 and Se(tu)2Br2 complexes are reported for the first time. The important modifications observed in the Raman active modes of thiourea molecules demonstrate a very strong interaction between the Se(II) ion and the sulfur atom of the ligand. As a result of this coordination, and through a “resonance-assisted” mechanism, an intense hydrogen-bonded network is present in the crystal structure of the complexes with notable vibrational effects.  相似文献

The isotope exchange behavior of thiourea with bis(thiourea)mercury(II) complex has been studied. The concentrations of both the metal ion and the complex were varied. The results show that the complex is labile in the kinetic sense. An increase in concentration increases the rate of exchange. Increase in temperature also results in an increase of the rate of exchange.  相似文献

A semi-organic nonlinear optical single crystal of bis thiourea sodium iodide (BTSI) has been successfully grown from aqueous solution using the slow evaporation solvent technique (SEST) at room temperature. Obtained crystals using the SEST method were characterized by using different characterization techniques. Structural studies of the grown crystals have been carried out by single-crystal XRD to confirm the crystal system and functional groups by FT-IR spectroscopy. Single-crystal XRD reveals orthorhombic structure of semi-organic BTSI single crystals and its unit cell parameters. Metal complex coordination of the single crystal is studied by FT-IR spectroscopy. The optical absorption study revealed excellent optical transparency of BTSI crystal in the entire visible region with a sharp lower cutoff wavelength 298 nm. The energy band gap of BTSI is found to be 4.16 eV. Thermal stability and thermal decomposition of BTSI single crystals were investigated by TGA–DTA and DSC analysis. The surface appearance of BTSI crystals by scanning electron microscopy reveals the formation of layer growth pattern. The structural perfection and growth features of the grown crystal were analyzed by wet chemical etching studies. The above studies reveal the effect of incorporation of sodium iodide into the lattice of thiourea crystals. The as-grown BTSI single crystals can be used as a potential candidate for NLO material as well as in electronic and optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and optical studies have been carried out on Cu2+ doped bis(thiourea)cadmium chloride single crystal, which belongs to a potential semi-organic non-linear material, at room temperature. The spin Hamiltonian parameters were determined as gxx = 2.04331, gyy = 2.04373, gzz = 2.05750 and Axx = 91G, Ayy = 115G, Azz = 136G. These parameters suggest that the spectroscopic splitting parameter g and hyperfine splitting parameter A exhibit rhombic symmetry. The optical study reveals that the non-linear optical property of the host lattice has been enhanced due to Cu2+ doping.  相似文献

Single crystals of K2[Co(1−x)Nix(H2O)6] (C8H5O4)4·4H2O (x = 0.25) (PCNHP), a semiorganic black colored transparent crystal of size ∼20 × 13 × 4 mm3, are grown from an aqueous solution of potassium hydrogen phthalate enriched with cobalt chloride and nickel chloride by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. Structural analysis by single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that the crystal belongs to monoclinic system with space group P21/c and the cell parameters are a = 10.41(3) Å, b = 6.84(2) Å, c = 29.46(9) Å, Z = 4. Incorporation of both Co(II) and Ni(II) into the potassium hydrogen phthalate (KHP) crystal lattice is well confirmed by EDS and chemical tests. Powder XRD profiles indicate the crystallinity and FT-IR studies reveal the vibrational patterns. The UV–vis optical absorption spectrum of PCNHP shows the lower optical cut-off at ∼300 nm and the crystal was transparent in the entire visible region. The crystalline perfection of the grown crystal analysed by high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) analysis reveals that the diffraction curve (DC) contains multi-peaks with low angular spread indicating the possibility of low angle structural grain boundaries. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) studies indicate the structure defect centers. The dielectric, thermal and mechanical behaviors of the specimen were also investigated.  相似文献

The novel neutral mononuclear zinc complexes with the quinolone antibacterial drugs enrofloxacin and oxolinic acid in the presence of the nitrogen donor heterocyclic ligand pyridine have been synthesized and characterized. The experimental data suggest that the quinolone ligands are on the deprotonated mode acting as bidentate ligands coordinated to the zinc(II) ion through the ketone oxygen and a carboxylato oxygen. The crystal structure of the complex bis(enrofloxacinato)bis(pyridine)zinc(II), 1, has been determined with X-ray crystallography. The biological activity of the complexes has been evaluated by examining their ability to bind to calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) with UV and fluorescence spectroscopies. UV spectroscopic titration studies of the interaction of the complexes with DNA have shown that they can bind to CT-DNA and the DNA binding constants have been calculated. Competitive studies with ethidium bromide (EB) have shown that the complexes exhibit the ability to displace the DNA-bound EB indicating that they can bind to DNA in strong competition with EB for the intercalative binding site.  相似文献
