We derive global estimates in critical scale invariant norms for solutions of elliptic systems with antisymmetric potentials and almost holomorphic Hopf differential in two dimensions. Moreover, we obtain new energy identities in such norms for sequences of solutions of these systems. The results apply to harmonic maps into general target manifolds and surfaces with prescribed mean curvature. In particular, the results confirm a conjecture of Rivière in the two-dimensional setting.  相似文献

In this paper on the simplest examples of compact 4-dimensional conformally connected manifolds (real quadrics in a 5-dimensional projective space) we show that the only invariant, which is quadratic with respect to the curvature Φ of the connectivity, is the Yang-Mills functional ε |tr (*Φ Λ Φ)|. We do not know whether the 4-form |tr (*Φ Λ Φ)| is invariant in any 4-dimensional conformally connected manifolds.  相似文献

We show that the mass of an asymptotically flat n-manifold is a geometric invariant. The proof is based on harmonic coordinates and, to develop a suitable existence theory, results about elliptic operators with rough coefficients on weighted Sobolev spaces are summarised. Some relations between the mass, scalar curvature and harmonic maps are described and the positive mass theorem for n-dimensional spin manifolds is proved.  相似文献

We derive a curvature identity that holds on any 6-dimensional Riemannian manifold, from the Chern-Gauss-Bonnet theorem for a 6-dimensional closed Riemannian manifold. Moreover, some applications of the curvature identity are given. We also define a generalization of harmonic manifolds to study the Lichnerowicz conjecture for a harmonic manifold “a harmonic manifold is locally symmetric” and provide another proof of the Lichnerowicz conjecture refined by Ledger for the 4-dimensional case under a slightly more general setting.  相似文献

Utilising a weight matrix we study surfaces of prescribed weighted mean curvature which yield a natural generalisation to critical points of anisotropic surface energies. We first derive a differential equation for the normal of immersions with prescribed weighted mean curvature, generalising a result of Clarenz and von der Mosel. Next we study graphs of prescribed weighted mean curvature, for which a quasilinear elliptic equation is proved. Using this equation, we can show height and boundary gradient estimates. Finally, we solve the Dirichlet problem for graphs of prescribed weighted mean curvature.  相似文献

We prove a vanishing theorem for conformal vector fields on four–manifolds of negative scalar curvature. Our assumptions are conformally invariant, and in the case of locally conformally flat manifolds reduce to a sign condition on the Euler characteristic. Conformal harmonic maps from a 4-dimensional conformal manifold to a Riemannian manifold are maps satisfying a certain conformally invariant fourth order equation. We prove a general existence result for conformal harmonic maps, analogous to the Eells–Sampson theorem for harmonic maps. The proof uses a geometric flow and relies on results of Gursky–Viaclovsky and Lamm.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the notion of generalized quasi-Einstein manifold that generalizes the concepts of Ricci soliton, Ricci almost soliton and quasi-Einstein manifolds. We prove that a complete generalized quasi-Einstein manifold with harmonic Weyl tensor and with zero radial Weyl curvature is locally a warped product with (n ? 1)-dimensional Einstein fibers. In particular, this implies a local characterization for locally conformally flat gradient Ricci almost solitons, similar to that proved for gradient Ricci solitons.  相似文献

Given a compact four-dimensional smooth Riemannian manifold (M,g) with smooth boundary, we consider the evolution equation by Q-curvature in the interior keeping the T-curvature and the mean curvature to be zero. Using integral methods, we prove global existence and convergence for the Q-curvature flow to a smooth metric conformal to g of prescribed Q-curvature, zero T-curvature and vanishing mean curvature under conformally invariant assumptions.  相似文献

Asymptotically harmonic manifolds are simply connected complete Riemannian manifolds without conjugate points such that all horospheres have the same constant mean curvature \(h\). In this article we present results for harmonic functions on rank one asymptotically harmonic manifolds \(X\) with mild curvature boundedness conditions. Our main results are (a) the explicit calculation of the Radon–Nikodym derivative of the visibility measures, (b) an explicit integral representation for the solution of the Dirichlet problem at infinity in terms of these visibility measures, and (c) a result on horospherical means of bounded eigenfunctions implying that these eigenfunctions do not admit non-trivial continuous extensions to the geometric compactification \(\overline{X}\).  相似文献

The main result of this paper is that a Lorentzian manifold is locally conformally equivalent to a manifold with recurrent lightlike vector field and totally isotropic Ricci tensor if and only if its conformal tractor holonomy admits a 2-dimensional totally isotropic invariant subspace. Furthermore, for semi-Riemannian manifolds of arbitrary signature we prove that the conformal holonomy algebra of a C-space is a Berger algebra. For Ricci-flat spaces we show how the conformal holonomy can be obtained by the holonomy of the ambient metric and get results for Riemannian manifolds and plane waves.  相似文献

We study several aspects of the geometry of conformally stationary Lorentz manifolds, and particularly of GRW spaces, due to the presence of a closed conformal vector field. More precisely, we begin by extending a result of J. Simons on the minimality of cones in Euclidean space to these spaces, and apply it to the construction of complete, noncompact minimal Lorentz submanifolds of both de Sitter and anti-de Sitter spaces. Then we state and prove very general Bernstein-type theorems for spacelike hypersurfaces in conformally stationary Lorentz manifolds, one of which not assuming the hypersurface to be of constant mean curvature. Finally, we study the strong r-stability of spacelike hypersurfaces of constant r-th mean curvature in a conformally stationary Lorentz manifold of constant sectional curvature, extending previous results in the current literature.  相似文献

We formulate a variational notion of anisotropic mean curvature for immersed hypersurfaces of arbitrary Riemannian manifolds. Hypersurfaces with constant anisotropic mean curvature are characterized as critical points of an elliptic parametric functional subject to a volume constraint. We provide examples of such hypersurfaces in the case of rotationally invariant functionals defined in product spaces. These examples include rotationally invariant hypersurfaces and graphs.  相似文献

By introducing the “relative energy”, we develop a new method for finding harmonic maps from noncompact complete Riemannian manifolds with prescribed asympototic behaviour at infinity. This method is an extension of the well known direct method of energy-minimization for compact domains. As an application of our method, we show that the Dirichlet problem at infinity with Hölder continuous boundary data for harmonic maps from a Cartan-Hadarmard manifold with bounded negative curvature into a compact manifold, has a locally minimizing solution which is smooth near infinity.  相似文献

In this article we study an integral invariant which obstructs the existence on a compact complex manifold of a volume form with the determinant of its Ricci form proportional to itself, in particular obstructs the existence of a Kähler-Einstein metric, and has been studied since 1980s. We study this invariant from the view point of locally conformally Kähler geometry. We first see that we can define an integral invariant for coverings of compact complex manifolds with automorphic volume forms. This situation typically occurs for locally conformally Kähler manifolds. Secondly, we see that this invariant coincides with the former one. We also show that the invariant vanishes for any compact Vaisman manifold.  相似文献

LetM be a 3-dimensional quasi-Sasakian manifold. On such a manifold, the so-called structure function is defined. With the help of this function, we find necessary and sufficient conditions forM to be conformally flat. Next it is proved that ifM is additionally conformally flat with = const., then (a)M is locally a product ofR and a 2-dimensional Kählerian space of constant Gauss curvature (the cosymplectic case), or (b)M is of constant positive curvature (the non cosymplectic case; here the quasi-Sasakian structure is homothetic to a Sasakian structure). An example of a 3-dimensional quasi-Sasakian structure being conformally flat with nonconstant structure function is also described. Let F. be a connected amd locally connected locally compact group having a countable basis for its topology. Does E admit a translation invariant Brelot harmonic sheaf? For which E does the elliptic Bauer theory coincides with the Brelot theory for all invariant harmonic elliptic sheaves? This note announces the following solutions: (a) Any E carries invariant Brelot harmonic sheaves; (b) Any invariant elliptic Bauer harmonic elliptic sheaf is a Brelot sheaf if and only if E is a finite dimensional Lie group. These results are obtained by studying product diffusions on infinite products of manifolds. e.g.. compacts Lie groups.  相似文献
