The self-assembly of unsymmetrical metal ligands from simpler components circumvents complex synthetic approaches. We show herein how a recently developed three-component assembly to create tripicolylamine-like ligands can be extended to the use of azides rather than pyridines. Substituent effects, metal dependence, and reversibility of the assembly are explored. Further, we show that the extent of assembly directly correlates with the differential binding of the templating metals between dipicolylamine-like and tripicolyamine-like ligands. 相似文献

Three novel compounds, based on the 1,3,5-benzene core with C3-symmetry, have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, i.r. and 1H-n.m.r. Thermodynamic properties of the ligands and their CoII, NiII, CuII, and ZnII metal complexes have been investigated and the corresponding stability constants obtained at 25.0 ± 0.1 °C and with I = 0.1 mol dm–3 in KNO3 by potentiometric titration. A linear free energy relationship exists between the stability constants of complexes and the protonation constants of ligands in the ternary system of the CuII-5-substituted phenanthroline-tripod ligand complexes. 相似文献

Two new, Schiff base ligands containing cyclobutane and thiazole rings, 4-(1-methyl-1-mesitylcyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2,4-dihydroxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L1H) and 4-(1-methyl-1-mesitycyclobutane-3-yl)-2-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidenehydrazino)thiazole (L2H) and their mononuclear complexes with a 1:2 metal-ligand ratio have been prepared with acetate salts of CoII, CuII, NiII and ZnII in EtOH. The structures of the ligands and their complexes have been established by microanalyses, i.r., u.v.–vis., 13C- and 1H-n.m.r. spectra, and by magnetic susceptibility measurements. The complexes are mononuclear. Thermal properties of the ligands and complexes have been studied by t.g.a. and d.s.c. techniques. Antimicrobial activities of the ligands and their complexes have been tested against eight different microorganisms. Some of the complexes and L1H were found to be active against some of the microorganisms studied. 相似文献

Acetylsalicylhydroxamic acid (AcSHA) was prepared and characterized. Its pKa value was determined as 7.78. Solid metal complexes of AcSHA were also prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, electronic and i.r. spectroscopies, and by magnetic moment measurements. The shift of both hydroxamic and acetyl carbonyl vibrations to lower frequencies clearly indicates that AcSHA is bonded through oxygen atoms to the metal ions as a tridentate ligand. On the basis of the experimental data, structures for the complexes are purposed. 相似文献

Synthesis of four different types of ligands Ar[COC(NOH)R]
n
(Ar = biphenyl, n = 1, HL1; Ar = biphenyl, n = 2, H2L2; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 1, HL3; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 2, H2L4; R = furfurylamine in all ligands) and their dinuclear Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ complexes is reported herein. These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, ICP-OES, FT-IR spectra, and magnetic
susceptibility measurements. The ligands were further characterized by 1H NMR. The results suggest that dinuclear complexes of HL1 and HL3 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 2 and dinuclear complexes H2L2 and H2L4 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 1. Square pyramidal or octahedral structures are proposed for complexes of oxime
ligands. Furthermore, extraction abilities of the four ligands were also evaluated in chloroform using selected transition

The stability constants of ZnII, CuII, NiII and CoII with different tripodal ligands, 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazaoctxyl)benzene (L1), 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazanonxyl)benzene (L2) and 1,3,5-tris[3-(2-pyridyl)-2-azapropyl]benzene (L3) have been studied at 25 °C in 0.1 mol dm–3 KNO3 aqueous solution using potentiometric titrations. During the titrations, the ligand concentrations were kept constant at 1 × 10–3 mol dm–3, while 1:1 and 1:3 metal:ligand ratios were used for each system. The results indicated that, in the 1:1 metal:ligand ratio, the binding of MII to the ligand gives rise to several 1:1 complexes differing in their degree of protonation whereas in the 3:1 ratio, polynuclear complexes are formed. Additionally, the ternary complexes of the tripod ligands, with CuII-5-substituted-1, 10-phenanthroline have been investigated and the results show that linear free energy relationship exists in such ternary systems. 相似文献

Summary The synthesis, characterization and voltammetric and magnetic behaviour of a series of dinuclear complexes -(2,5-DPP)[M(hfacac)2]2, in which hfacac is hexafluoro-acetylacetonate, 2,5-DPP is 2,5-bis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine and M = copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II), are described. As with the dinuclear complexes derived from 2,3-bis(2-pyridyl)-pyrazine (2,3-DPP) and analogous ligands, magnetic measurements show that these systems are not coupled. On the basis of magnetic data, we propose that, in contrast to related ligands such as 2,2-bipyridyl, the coordinated 2,5-DPP cannot be planar. 相似文献

Four-coordination compounds of the bis-Schiff base, bis(o-vanillin)-o-phenylenediamine, with CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII were obtained in high yield by a self-assembly solid state reaction of the metal acetates with o-vanillin and o- phenylenediamine at 60°C. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, i.r., u.v., molar conductivities and by powder XRD. The spectroscopic data show that the complexes are pure and are non-electrolytes. 相似文献

Summary Acetylacetone bis-benzoylhydrazone (PhCONHN=CMe)2 CH2(LH2) and acetylacetone bis-isonicotinoylhydrazone (NC5H4CONHN=CMe)2CH2(LH2) complexes of the types [ML] and [ML] (M = CoII, NiII, CuII or ZnII) have been prepared and characterized. All the complexes are non-electrolytes and the cobalt(II) complexes are lowspin, the nickel(II) complexes are diamagnetic and the copper(II) complexes are paramagnetic. The ligands chelate via two C=N groups and two deprotonated enolate groups. The e.s.r. spectra of the copper(II) complexes indicate a tetragonally distorted dimeric structure. The X-ray diffraction parameters for [CoL] and [NiL] correspond to a tetragonal crystal lattice. 相似文献

Summary Complexes of the type M(AcLeu)2 · B2 (M = CoII, NiII or ZnII; B = H2O, py, 3-pic, 4-pic; AcLeu =N-acetyl-DL-leucinate ion) and M(AcLeu)2 B (M = CoII or ZnII and B = o-phen) were prepared and investigated by means of magnetic and spectroscopic measurements. By comparing the Dq values of the amino acid and those of other N-substituted amino acids previously studied, a spectrochemical series of the the cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes is proposed. Summary The formation of ternary complexes of the MAL3– type [where M = CuII, NiII and ZnII ; A = nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA); L = 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid (1,2 HNA) and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthoic acid (2,1 HNA)] have been studied potentiometrically in 50% v/v aqueous — ethanol (25° and µ = 0.1). Under identical conditions the binary complexes of the 1,2- and 2,1-HNA ligands have also been examined. Summary The doubly bidentate ON-NO donor Schiff base, prepared from salicylaldehyde and 4,4-diaminodiphenylmethane forms complexes with 11 metal: ligand stoichiometric ratios. The cobalt(II), copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes exhibit subnormal magnetic moments. All the six complexes possess high melting points and are sparingly soluble in common organic solvents. A dinuclear octahedral structure is proposed for the cobalt(II), copper(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes and a dinuclear tetrahedral configuration is suggested for the cadmium(II) and mercury(II) complexes on the basis of analytical, conductance, magnetic susceptibility, molecular weight, i.r. and electronic spectral data. 相似文献

The thermal decomposition of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes of the Schiff base vanillidene anthranilic acid was studied by TG. The chelates show somewhat similar TG plots when heated in an atmosphere of air. Thermoanalytical data (TG and DTG) of these chelates are presented in this communication. Interpretation and mathematical analysis of these data and evaluation of order of reaction, the energy and entropy of activation based on the differential method employing the Freeman-Carroll equation, the integral method using Coats-Redfern equation and the approximation method using the Horowitz-Metzger equation are also given. On the basis of experimental findings in the present course of studies, it is concluded that the relative thermal stability of vanillidene anthranilic acid chelates can be aligned as Co(II)Ni(II)>Zn(II)>Cu(II).

Zusammenfassung Die thermische Zersetzung von Cobalt(II)-, Nickel(II)-, Kupfer(II)- und Zink(II)-Komplexen der Schiffschen Base Vanillidenanthranilsäure wurde thermogravimetrisch untersucht. Die Chelate zeigen in einer Luftatmosphäre ähnliche TG-Kurven. Thermoanalytische Daten (TG and DTG) dieser Chelate werden mitgeteilt, interpretiert und mathematisch analysiert. Ebenfalls werden die Reaktionsordnung und die Energie und Entropie der Aktivierung nach der von Freeman-Carroll angewandten differentiellen Methode, nach der auf der Coats-Redfern-Gleichung basierenden integralen Methode und nach der die Horowitz-Metzger Gleichung benutzenden Näherungsmethode bestimmt. Aus den Befunden wird geschlossen, dass die thermische Stabilität von Vanillidenanthranilsäure-Chelaten in der Reihenfolge Co(II)Ni(II)>Zn(II)> >Cu(II) abnimmt.

Complexes of nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) with aspirin have been prepared. Examination of the complexes of nickel(II) and zinc(II) indicates that they are salicylato complexes in which the aspirin has been de-ethanoylated.Chemical, spectral and magnetic properties show that the nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes have dimeric, octahedral structures while the zinc(II) complex has a tetrahedral structure. The decomposition of the complexes was studied by thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis. Thermal decomposition products were obtained for the nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes. Their structures are octahedral with the exception ofbis-salicyclic acid-zinc(II) which is tetrahedral.
Zusammenfassung Komplexe von Nickel (II), Kupfer (II) und Zink (II) mit Aspirin wurden hergestellt. Die Untersuchung der Koordinationsverbindungen von Nickel (II) und Zink (II) zeigt, daß dies Salycylatkomplexe sind, in welchen das Aspirin de-äthanoliert wurde.Die chemischen, spektralen- und magnetischen Eigenschaften zeigen, daß die Nickel (II)- und Kupfer (II)-Komplexe dimere Oktaederstrukturen besitzen, während der Zink (II)-Komplex eine Tetraederstruktur besitzt. Die Zersetzung der Komplexe wurde durch Thermogravimetrie und Differentialthermoanalyse untersucht. Thermische Zersetzungsprodukte der Nickel (II)- und Zink (II)-Komplexe wurden erhalten. Ihre Strukturen sind oktaedrich, mit Ausnahme vonBis-Salicyclosäure-Zink (II), dessen Struktur tetraedrisch ist.
