We introduce an exactly solvable SU(2)-invariant spin-1/2 model with exotic spin excitations. With time reversal symmetry (TRS), the ground state is a spin liquid with gapless or gapped spin-1 but fermionic excitations. When TRS is broken, the resulting spin liquid exhibits deconfined vortex excitations which carry spin-1/2 and obey non-Abelian statistics. We show that this SU(2) invariant non-Abelian spin liquid exhibits the spin quantum Hall effect with quantized spin Hall conductivity σ(xy)(s)=?/2π, and that the spin response is effectively described by the SO(3) level-1 Chern-Simons theory at low energy. We further propose that a SU(2) level-2 Chern-Simons theory is the effective field theory describing the topological structure of the non-Abelian SU(2) invariant spin liquid.  相似文献

In the present paper we propose a spin-1/2 chain which provides an exactly solvable example to studythe Ising criticality with the central charge c = 1/2. We performthe diagonalization of this model in the presence ofmagnetic field. From the full energy spectrum, the central charge and the scaling dimensions are given at the criticalpoint. The results show evidently that the quantum Ising criticality exists in such a system.  相似文献

We use the matrix product formalism to find exact ground states of two new spin-1 quantum chains with nearest neighbor interactions. One of the models, model I, describes a one-parameter family of quantum chains for which the ground state can be found exactly. In certain limit of the parameter, the Hamiltonian turns into the interesting case . The other model which we label as model II, corresponds to a family of solvable three-state vertex models on square lattices. The ground state of this model is highly degenerate and the matrix product states is a generating state of such degenerate states. The simple structure of the matrix product state allows us to determine the properties of degenerate states which are otherwise difficult to determine. For both models we find exact expressions for correlation functions.  相似文献

A quantum anti-ferromagnetic spin-1 model is characterised on a 2D lattice with the following requirements: (i) The Hamiltonian is made out of nearest neighbour interactions. (ii) It is homogeneous, translational and rotational invariant. (iii) The ground state is a real singlet state of SU(2) (non-chiral). (iv) It has a local spin-1 representation. Along the way to characterise the system, connections with classical statistical mechanics and integrable models are explored. Finally, the relevance of the model in the physics of low dimensional anti-ferromagnetic Mott-Hubbard insulators is discussed.  相似文献

We present a set of exactly solvable Ising models, with half-odd-integer spin-S on a square-type lattice including a quartic interaction term in the Hamiltonian. The particular properties of the mixed lattice, associated with mixed half-odd-integer spin-(S,1/2) and only nearest-neighbor interaction, allow us to map this system either onto a purely spin-1/2 lattice or onto a purely spin-S lattice. By imposing the condition that the mixed half-odd-integer spin-(S,1/2) lattice must have an exact solution, we found a set of exact solutions that satisfy the free fermion condition of the eight vertex model. The number of solutions for a general half-odd-integer spin-S is given by S+1/2. Therefore we conclude that this transformation is equivalent to a simple spin transformation which is independent of the coordination number.  相似文献

We investigate the interface dynamics of the two-dimensional stochastic Ising model in an external field under helicoidal boundary conditions. At sufficiently low temperatures and fields, the dynamics of the interface is described by an exactly solvable high-spin asymmetric quantum Hamiltonian that is the infinitesimal generator of the zero range process. Generally, the critical dynamics of the interface fluctuations is in the Kardar–Parisi–Zhang universality class of critical behavior. We remark that a whole family of RSOS interface models similar to the Ising interface model investigated here can be described by exactly solvable restricted high-spin quantum XXZXXZ-type Hamiltonians.  相似文献

We investigate ground-state properties of a one-dimensional correlated hopping electron model in the presence of an external magnetic field which is solvable by Bethe ansatz. We present a general method of calculating magnetization, susceptibility, and chemical potential in exactly solvable spin-1/2 fermion models by deriving a parametric representation of these functions and the magnetic field in terms of the charge and spin distributions, the dressed charge matrix, and the dressed energy at the Fermi points in parameter space. For the correlated hopping model, we numerically calculate the dressed properties-which are given by sets of coupled integral equations-for general values of the field, the band filling, and the interaction parameter. In the special limits of magnetic saturation or large interaction parameter the results are presented in analytic form.  相似文献

We study the effect of symmetry breaking in a quantum phase transition on pairwise entanglement in spin-1/2 models. We give a set of conditions on correlation functions a model has to meet in order to keep the pairwise entanglement unchanged by a parity symmetry breaking. It turns out that all mean-field solvable models do meet this requirement, whereas the presence of strong correlations leads to a violation of this condition. This results in an order-induced enhancement of entanglement, and we report on two examples where this takes place.  相似文献

We propose the mapping of polynomial of degree 2S constructed as a linear combination of powers of spin-S (for simplicity, we called as spin-S polynomial) onto spin-crossover state. The spin-S polynomial in general can be projected onto non-symmetric degenerated spin up (high-spin) and spin down (low-spin) momenta. The total number of mapping for each general spin-S is given by 2(22S ? 1). As an application of this mapping, we consider a general non-bilinear spin-S Ising model which can be transformed onto spin-crossover described by Wajnflasz model. Using a further transformation we obtain the partition function of the effective spin-1/2 Ising model, making a suitable mapping the non-symmetric contribution leads us to a spin-1/2 Ising model with a fixed external magnetic field, which in general cannot be solved exactly. However, for a particular case of non-bilinear spin-S Ising model could become equivalent to an exactly solvable Ising model. The transformed Ising model exhibits a residual entropy, then it should be understood also as a frustrated spin model, due to competing parameters coupling of the non-bilinear spin-S Ising model.  相似文献

New exactly solvable nineteen vertex models and related quantum spin-1 chains are solved. Partition functions, excitation energies, correlation lengths, and critical exponents are calculated. It is argued that one of the non-critical Hamiltonians is a realization of an integrable Haldane system. The numerical simulation of quantum many-body dynamics is typically limited by the linear growth of entanglement with time. Recently numerical studies have shown that for 1D Bethe-integrable models the simulation of local operators in the Heisenberg picture can be efficient. Using the spin-1/2 XX chain as generic example of an integrable model that can be mapped to free fermions, we provide a simple explanation for this. We show furthermore that the same reduction of complexity applies to operators that have a high-temperature autocorrelation function which decays slower than exponential, i.e., with a power law. Thus efficient simulability may already be implied by a single conservation law as we will illustrate numerically for the spin-1 XXZ model.  相似文献

We extend the picture of a transfer of nuclear spin-1/2 polarization along a homogeneous one-dimensional chain with the XY Hamiltonian to the inhomogeneous chain with alternating nearest neighbor couplings and alternating Larmor frequencies. To this end, we exactly calculate the spectrum of the spin-1/2 XY Hamiltonian of the alternating chain with an odd number of sites. The exact spectrum of the XY Hamiltonian is also applied to study the multiple quantum (MQ) NMR dynamics of the alternating spin-1/2 chain. MQ NMR spectra are shown to have the MQ coherences of zero and ± second orders just as in the case of a homogeneous chain. The intensities of the MQ coherences are calculated.  相似文献

We study the relation between the recently defined localizable entanglement and generalized correlations in quantum spin systems. Differently from the current belief, the localizable entanglement is always given by the average of a generalized string. Using symmetry arguments we show that in most spin-1/2 and spin-1 systems the localizable entanglement reduces to the spin-spin or string correlations, respectively. We prove that a general class of spin-1 systems, which includes the Heisenberg model, can be used as a perfect quantum channel. These conclusions are obtained in analytic form and confirm some results found previously on numerical grounds.  相似文献

We present the classical and quantum versions of collision induced absorption spectra for three exactly solvable 1-D models, and obtain the asymptotic behaviour at high frequency. It is found that the quantum spectra fall off more slowly than the classical, and for realistic systems, they both fall off more slowly than exponential. An improved version of the Landau-Lifshitz WKB method is suggested as a numerically viable method for calculating the high frequency wing in quantum spectra and is tested on the exactly solvable models. The error is found to be negligible in two models and tolerable in the third model, even for the least classical system. Our discussion of an extension of the method using exact wavefunctions increases its scope beyond the collision induced absorption problem.  相似文献

Pyrochlore magnets can be a unique platform to demonstrate numerous important concepts and applications of frustrated magnetic physics in modern condensed matter physics. Most works on pyrochlore magnets deal with the interacting spin-1/2 local moments, while much less works have studied the spin-1 systems. We here review the physics with interacting spin-1 local moments on the pyrochlore lattice to illustrate the potentially interesting physics associated with spin-1 magnets. The generic pyrochlore spin-1 model includes the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg interaction, the Dzyaloshinskii– Moriya interaction and the single-ion spin anisotropy. The global phase diagram of this generic spin model is reviewed, and the relation between different quantum phases in the phase diagram is clarified. The critical properties of the transition from the parent quantum paramagnet to the proximate orders are discussed. The presence of quantum order by disorder in the parts of the ordered phases is analyzed. The elementary excitations with respect to the ground states are further reviewed, and the topological natures of these excitations are carefully addressed. The materials’ relevance of the spin-1 pyrochlore magnets are finally reviewed. This review may provide insights about the interesting spin-1 local moments on frustrated systems.  相似文献

The study of entanglement properties of quantum critical many-particle systems has become a subject of intense interest. While the basic features of entanglement scaling for critical spin-1/2 systems (coupled qubits) are by now fairly well understood, entanglement properties of critical fermions (or bosons) are less well studied. In an effort to contribute to this problem, we have analyzed the single-site entanglement of a generic spin-1/2 lattice fermion system and found that (under certain provisos) this measure can be used as a reliable marker to identify and partly characterize a quantum critical point. We illustrate our findings by exact analytical results for the single-site entanglement at the magnetic and Mott-Hubbard transitions of the 1D Hubbard model and at the Mott-Hubbard transitions of the 1D Hubbard model with long-range hopping. We study Dirac oscillator in 2+1 dimensional noncommutative space. The model is solved exactly and the relationship with Jaynes-Cummings (JC) or anti-Jaynes-Cummings (AJC) models are investigated. We find that for a positive noncommutative parameter, there is an exact map from the 2+1 dimensional noncommutative Dirac oscillator to AJC model. However, for a negative noncommutative parameter, the noncommutative planar Dirac oscillator contains both AJC and JC terms simultaneously. Our investigation may afford a new way to study relativistic quantum mechanics models in noncommutative space by means of quantum optics method, and vice verse.  相似文献
