正In the standard model of particle physics, the baryon is formed by three quarks. Unlike the well-known proton and neutron that are composed of three light quarks, the doubly charmed baryon consists of two heavy charm quarks and a light quark.Therefore, it is expected to have different internal structures and properties, and to serve as a unique system for understanding the three-body bound system and testing the mechanism of quantum chromodynamics (QCD).  相似文献

Recently the LHCb Collaboration [1] published the results of a search for the doubly charmed baryon ■. No significant signal is seen in the mass range from 3.4 to3.8 Ge V. To put this result in context, the ■baryon was seen by LHCb in decay modes ΛcK-π^+π^+[2](2017) and ■^+cπ^+[3](2018). The weighted average of the ■^++cc mass is 3621.24±0.65 (stat.)±0.31 (syst.) We observe a signal for the doubly charmed baryon Xi(+)(cc) in the charged decay mode Xi(+)(cc)-->Lambda(+)(c)K-pi(+) in data from SELEX, the charm hadroproduction experiment at Fermilab. We observe an excess of 15.9 events over an expected background of 6.1+/-0.5 events, a statistical significance of 6.3sigma. The observed mass of this state is 3519+/-1 MeV/c(2). The Gaussian mass width of this state is 3 MeV/c(2), consistent with resolution; its lifetime is less than 33 fs at 90% confidence.  相似文献

We evaluate weak neutrino production cross sections for 7 conjectured charmed baryon resonances in the four flavour quark model. Effects resulting from the mass difference of uncharmed and charmed quarks are explicitly taken into account. The quark model results are only taken at q2=0 to determine the q2 = 0 values of the invariant transition form factors. These are then continued to q ≠ 0 by suitably chosen form factors. Our numerical results are compared with the results of other calculations of weak charm production.  相似文献

Two new examples of production by neutrinos and subsequent decay of charged charmed hadrons are reported. Together with two similar events reported previously they show that the lifetime of charged charmed particles is in the neighbourhood of 5 × 10?13 s, as expected from current theoretical models. One of the new events is identified as a baryon λc+ of mass 2.295 ± 0.015 GeV/c2 which undergoes the decay process λc+ → pπ+K? with a proper decay time (7.3 ± 0.1) × 10?13 s.  相似文献

The existence of doubly heavy flavor baryons has not been well established experimentally so far. In this Letter we systematically investigate the weak decays of the doubly charmed baryons, Ξ~(++)_(cc)and Ξ~+_(cc), which should be helpful for experimental searches for these particles. The long-distance contributions are first studied in the doubly heavy baryon decays, and found to be significantly enhanced. Comparing all the processes, Ξ~(++)_(cc)→Λ~+_cK~-π~+π~+andΞ~+_cπ~+ are the most favorable decay modes for experiments to search for doubly heavy baryons.  相似文献

The interference andW-exchange contributions toΛ c + inclusive nonleptonic decay rate are expressed in terms of matrix elements of effective fourquark operators and evaluated in the MIT bag model. It is found that although theW-exchange is not necessarily subject to helicity and color suppression, it does not suffice to explain the measured lifetime ofΛ c +. The observed semileptonic branching ratio ofΛ c +, however, requires that its inclusive decay rate be dominated by the nonspectator contribution and thus theW-exchange be substantially enhanced by some nonperturbative effects. The implication for exclusive two-body decays ofΛ c + is briefly discussed.  相似文献

We prove a U-spin amplitude triangle relation among doubly Cabibbo-suppressed (DCS) charmed meson decays, D0K+π,D0K0π0 and D+sK0K+, congruent to an isospin relation among corresponding Cabibbo-favored (CF) decays. U-spin breaking in relative phases between CF and DCS amplitudes affects time-dependent studies of D0– mixing. Comparison of final state phase patterns in DCS and CF amplitude triangles, which can shed some light on these phases, is carried out in a phenomenological framework incorporating resonance contributions.  相似文献

We explore the breaking effects of the SU(3) flavor symmetry in the singly Cabibbo-suppressed anti-triplet charmed baryon decays of \(\mathbf{B}_c\rightarrow \mathbf{B}_n M\), with \(\mathbf{B}_c=(\Xi _c^0,\Xi _c^+,\Lambda _c^+)\) and \(\mathbf{B}_n(M)\) the baryon (pseudo-scalar) octets. We find that these breaking effects can be used to account for the experimental data on the decay branching ratios of \({\mathcal {B}}(\Lambda _c^+\rightarrow \Sigma ^{0} K^{+},\Lambda ^{0} K^{+})\) and \(R'_{K/\pi }={\mathcal {B}}(\Xi ^0_c \rightarrow \Xi ^- K^+)\)/\({\mathcal {B}}(\Xi ^0_c \rightarrow \Xi ^- \pi ^+)\). In addition, we obtain that \({\mathcal {B}}(\Xi _{c}^{0} \rightarrow \Xi ^{-} K^{+},\Sigma ^{-} \pi ^{+})=(4.6 \pm 1.7,12.8 \pm 3.1)\times 10^{-4}\), \({\mathcal {B}}(\Xi _c^0\rightarrow pK^-,\Sigma ^+\pi ^-)=(3.0 \pm 1.0, 5.2 \pm 1.6)\times 10^{-4}\) and \({\mathcal {B}}(\Xi _c^+\rightarrow \Sigma ^{0(+)} \pi ^{+(0)})=(10.3 \pm 1.7)\times 10^{-4}\), which all receive significant contributions from the breaking effects, and can be tested by the BESIII and LHCb experiments.  相似文献
