A convenient synthesis of (t)Bu(3)SiSH and (t)Bu(3)SiSNa(THF)(x)() led to the exploration of "(t)Bu(3)SiSMX" aggregation. The dimer, [((t)Bu(3)SiS)Fe](2)(mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))(2) (1(2)), was formed from [{(Me(3)Si)(2)N}Fe](2)(mu-N(SiMe(3))(2))(2) and the thiol, and its dissolution in THF generated ((t)Bu(3)SiS)(2)Fe(THF)(2) (1-(THF)(2)). Metathetical procedures with the thiolate yielded aggregate precursors [X(2)Fe](mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))(2)[FeX(THF)]Na(THF)(4) (3-X, X = Cl, Br) and cis-[(THF)IFe](2)(mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))(2) (4). Thermal desolvations of 3-Cl, 3-Br and 4 afforded molecular wheels [Fe(mu-X)(mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))](12)(C(6)H(6))(n) (5-FeX, X = Cl, Br) and the ellipse [Fe(mu-I)(mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))](14)(C(6)H(6))(n) (6-FeI). Related metathesis and desolvation sequences led to wheels [Co(mu-Cl)(mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))](12)(C(6)H(6))(n) (5-CoCl) and [Ni(mu-Br)(mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))](12)(C(6)H(6))(n) (5-NiBr). The nickel wheel disproportionated to give, in part, [((t)Bu(3)SiS)Ni](2)(mu-SSi(t)Bu(3))(2) (7), which was also synthesized via salt metathesis. X-ray structural studies of 1(2) revealed a roughly planar Fe(2)S(4) core, while 1-(THF)(2), 3-Br, and 4 possessed simple distorted tetrahedral and edge-shared tetrahedral structures. X-ray structural studies revealed 5-MX (MX = FeCl, FeBr, CoCl, NiBr) to be wheels based on edge-shared tetrahedra, but while the pseudo-D(6)(d) wheels of 5-FeCl, 5-CoCl, and 5-FeBr pack in a body-centered arrangement, those of pseudo-C(6)(v)() 5-NiBr exhibit hexagonal packing and two distinct trans-annular d(Br...Br). Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements were conducted on 5-FeCl, 5-CoCl, 5-FeBr, and 6-FeI, and the latter three are best construed as weakly antiferromagnetic, while 5-FeCl exhibited modest ferromagnetic coupling. Features suggesting molecular magnetism are most likely affiliated with phase changes at low temperatures. 相似文献

Gas-phase alkaline earth halide anions, MgX3(-) and CaX3(-) (X = Cl, Br), were produced using electrospray and investigated using photoelectron spectroscopy at 157 nm. Extremely high electron binding energies were observed for all species and their first vertical detachment energies were measured as 6.60 +/- 0.04 eV for MgCl3(-), 6.00 +/- 0.04 eV for MgBr3(-), 6.62 +/- 0.04 eV for CaCl3(-), and 6.10 +/- 0.04 eV for CaBr3(-). The high electron binding energies indicate these are very stable anions and they belong to a class of anions, called superhalogens. Theoretical calculations at several levels of theory were carried out on these species, as well as the analogous BeX3(-). Vertical detachment energy spectra were predicted to compare with the experimental observations, and good agreement was obtained for all species. The first adiabatic detachment energies were found to be substantially lower (by about 1 eV) than the corresponding vertical detachment energies for all the MX3(-) species, indicating extremely large geometry changes between MX3(-) and MX3. We found that all the MX3(-) anions possess D3h ((1)A1') structures and are extremely stable against dissociation into MX2 and X-. The corresponding neutral species MX3, however, were found to be only weakly bound with respect to dissociation toward MX2 + X. The global minimum structures of all the MX3 neutrals were found to be C2v ((2)B2), which can be described as (X2(-))(MX+) charge-transfer complexes, whereas the MX2...X (C2v, (2)B1) van der Waals complexes were shown to be low-lying isomers. 相似文献

The 2:1 salts of a new donor molecule, EDT-DSDTFVO with MX4- (M = Fe, Ga; X = Cl, Br) ions, were prepared. The crystal structures of the donor molecules had a beta-type packing motif. All the salts essentially exhibited metallic behaviors despite the small upturns in the resistances below 30-70 K. A large negative magnetoresistance (MR) effect [-14.7% (rho(perpendicular)) at 4.0 K and 5 T] was observed in the FeCl4- salt, while a positive MR effect [+4.0% (rho(perpendicular)) at 4.0 K and 5 T] was observed in the GaCl4- salt, suggesting that there is a pi-d interaction in the FeCl4- salt. The pressure application suppressed the resistivity upturns, increased the negative MR effect (-17.7% at 9.5 kbar) in the FeCl4- salt, and decreased the positive MR effect (+3.3% at 15 kbar) in the GaCl4- salt. 相似文献

A new method for producing electronically excited nitrogen monohalides NX(b) (X=F,Cl,Br) is reported. The strong emission spectra of NBr(b1Σ+→X3Σ–) are observed when alkyl bromides (CHBr3, CH2Br2, C2H5Br, and C4H9Br) are added to a stream of active nitrogen, generated by a hollow-cathode discharge of N2, in a flowing afterglow system. Some tentative experiments show that the electronically excited NBr(b) is formed by means of metastable N2(A3Σu+) Electronic-to-Electronic energy transfer to NBr(X), which is from the reaction of N(4S) with alkyl bromides. The emission spectra of NCl(b1Σ+→X3Σ–) are obtained when CCl4 or SOCl2 is admitted into a flow of active nitrogen, but neither CHCl3 nor CH2Cl2 addition results in such an emission. It has been proposed that the origin of the excited NCl(b) is an energy transfer from N2 (A) to NCl(X), generated by the reaction of N(4S) with CCl3 (or SOCl2). Similar experiments are also carried out with SF6 as reagent of active nitrogen, or as mixture with N2 in the discharge. By recording fluorescence it was found that excited NF(b) is produced only under discharge through N2/SF6 mixture. The NF(b) state presumably arises from the energy transfer from N2(A) to NF(X), and the latter is generated from the abstraction of fluorine by N(4S) from SF5. 相似文献

Resonance Raman spectra of the cubic metal-halide complexes having the general formula [M(6)X(8)Y(6)](2)(-) (M = Mo or W; X, Y = Cl, Br, or I) are reported. The three totally symmetric fundamental vibrations of these complexes are identified. The extensive mixing of the symmetry coordinates that compose the symmetric normal modes expected in these systems is not observed. Instead the "group-frequency" approximation is valid. Furthermore, the force constants of both the apical and face-bridging metal-halide bonds are insensitive to the identity of either the metal or the halide. Raman spectra of related complexes with methoxy and benzenethiol groups as ligands are reported along with the structural data for [Mo(6)Cl(8)(SPh)(6)][NBu(4)](2). Crystal data for [Mo(6)Cl(8)(SPh)(6)][NBu(4)](2) at -156 degrees C: monoclinic space group P2(1)/c; a = 12.588(3), b = 17.471(5), c = 20.646(2) ?; beta = 118.53(1) degrees, V = 3223.4 ?(3); d(calcd) = 1.664 g cm(-)(3); Z = 2. 相似文献

High Pressure Polymorphy of Dihalides MX2 (M: Ca, Sr, Eu; X: F, Cl, Br) High pressure investigations of alkaline and rare earth dihalides yielded new polymorphs of CaBr2, SrCl2, SrBr2 und EuBr2, which could be quenched and characterized by x-ray methods. The polymorphic transitions can be understood as single steps in a sequence of structures given by the coordination numbers. Polypyridyl multidentate ligands based on ethylenediamine backbones are important metal‐binding agents with applications in biomimetics and homogeneous catalysis. The seemingly hexadentate tpena ligand [systematic name: N,N,N′‐tris(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)ethylenediamine‐N′‐acetate] reacts with zinc chloride and zinc bromide to form trichlorido[μ‐N,N,N′‐tris(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)ethylenediamine‐N′‐acetato]dizinc(II), [Zn2(C22H24N5O2)Cl3], and tribromido[μ‐N,N,N′‐tris(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)ethylenediamine‐N′‐acetato]dizinc(II), [Zn2Br3(C22H24N5O2)]. One ZnII ion shows the anticipated N5O coordination in an irregular six‐coordinate site and is linked by an anti carboxylate bridge to a tetrahedral ZnX3 (X = Cl or Br) unit. In contrast, the CuII ions in aquatribromido[μ‐N,N,N′‐tris(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)ethylenediamine‐N′‐acetato]dicopper(II)–tribromido[μ‐N,N,N′‐tris(pyridin‐2‐ylmethyl)ethylenediamine‐N′‐acetato]dicopper(II)–water (1/1/6.5) [Cu2Br3(C22H24N5O2)][Cu2Br3(C22H24N5O2)(H2O)]·6.5H2O, occupy two tpena‐chelated sites, one a trigonal bipyramidal N3Cl2 site and the other a square‐planar N2OCl site. Infrared and laser Raman spectra of [Ni(II)(diars)2X]X, (X=Cl, Br and I) have been used as probes to determine the structures of chelated diarsine molecules. It has been observed that the effects of metal chelation and coordination geometry give rise to frequency shifts in these complexes. The variation in vibrational spectroscopic features indicates reduction in the symmetry of the complexes in the crystalline environment. The effect of halogen on the Ni-halogen stretching frequency of these square pyramidal complexes is not as significant as observed in the case of octahedral complexes. 相似文献

Density functional and multiconfigurational (ab initio) calculations have been performed on [M(2)X(8)](2-) (X = Cl, Br, I) complexes of 4d (Mo, Tc, Ru), 5d (W, Re, Os), and 5f (U, Np, Pu) metals in order to investigate general trends, similarities and differences in the electronic structure and metal-metal bonding between f-block and d-block elements. Multiple metal-metal bonds consisting of a combination of sigma and pi interactions have been found in all species investigated, with delta-like interactions also occurring in the complexes of Tc, Re, Np, Ru, Os, and Pu. The molecular orbital analysis indicates that these metal-metal interactions possess predominantly d(z2) (sigma), d(xz) and d(yz) (pi), or d(xy) and d(x2-y2) (delta) character in the d-block species, and f(z3) (sigma), f(z2x) and f(z2y) (pi), or f(xyz) and f(z) (delta) character in the actinide systems. In the latter, all three (sigma, pi, delta) types of interaction exhibit bonding character, irrespective of whether the molecular symmetry is D(4h) or D(4d). By contrast, although the nature and properties of the sigma and pi bonds are largely similar for the D(4h) and D(4d) forms of the d-block complexes, the two most relevant metal-metal delta-like orbitals occur as a bonding and antibonding combination in D(4h) symmetry but as a nonbonding level in D(4d) symmetry. Multiconfigurational calculations have been performed on a subset of the actinide complexes, and show that a single electronic configuration plays a dominant role and corresponds to the lowest-energy configuration obtained using density functional theory. 相似文献

采用密度泛函理论(DFT)中的广义梯度近似(GGA)方法对C56X10(X=F,Cl,Br,I)的结构稳定性和电子性质进行了计算研究.结构稳定性计算表明:对于C56X10(X=F,Cl,Br,I),能隙、反应热、最大振动频率和最小振动频率都随着X原子序数的增加而减小,表明C56X10(X=F,Cl,Br,I)的稳定性随着X原子序数的增加而逐渐降低,其中C56F10最为稳定.前人在实验上已成功合成出C56Cl10,因此,我们推测C56F10有望在实验上成功合成.前线轨道计算发现,C56相邻的五边形公共顶点以及两个六边形-五边形-六边形公共顶点是笼子中化学活性最强的部位,有利于卤族元素的外部吸附.此外,计算结果还显示,C56X10(X=F,Cl,Br,I)的电负性随着X原子序数的增大而逐渐减弱,C—X基团的电负性因位置的不同而不同. 相似文献
