We investigate homogeneity in the special Colombeau algebra on Rd as well as on the pierced space Rd?{0}. It is shown that strongly scaling invariant functions on Rd are simply the constants. On the pierced space, strongly homogeneous functions of degree α admit tempered representatives, whereas on the whole space, such functions are polynomials with generalized coefficients. We also introduce weak notions of homogeneity and show that these are consistent with the classical notion on the distributional level. Moreover, we investigate the relation between generalized solutions of the Euler differential equation and homogeneity. 相似文献

Based on a refinement of the notion of internal sets in Colombeau's theory, so-called strongly internal sets, we introduce the space of generalized smooth functions, a maximal extension of Colombeau generalized functions. In [H. Brézis, A. Friedman, Nonlinear parabolic equations involving measures as initial conditions, J. Math. Pure Appl. (9) (1983) 73–97.] Brézis and Friedman prove that certain nonlinear parabolic equations, with the δ-measure as initial data, have no solution. However in [J.F. Colombeau, M. Langlais, Generalized solutions of nonlinear parabolic equations with distributions as initial conditions, J. Math. Anal. Appl (1990) 186–196.] Colombeau and Langlais prove that these equations have a unique solution even if the δ-measure is substituted by any Colombeau generalized function of compact support. Here we generalize Colombeau and Langlais’ result proving that we may take any generalized function as the initial data. Our approach relies on recent algebraic and topological developments of the theory of Colombeau generalized functions and results from [J. The theory of sparse stochastic processes offers a broad class of statistical models to study signals, far beyond the more classical class of Gaussian processes. In this framework, signals are represented as realizations of random processes that are solution of linear stochastic differential equations driven by Lévy white noises. Among these processes, generalized Poisson processes based on compound-Poisson noises admit an interpretation as random L-splines with random knots and weights. We demonstrate that every generalized Lévy process—from Gaussian to sparse—can be understood as the limit in law of a sequence of generalized Poisson processes. This enables a new conceptual understanding of sparse processes and suggests simple algorithms for the numerical generation of such objects. 相似文献

We derive a set of differential inequalities for positive definite functions based on previous results derived for positive definite kernels by purely algebraic methods. Our main results show that the global behavior of a smooth positive definite function is, to a large extent, determined solely by the sequence of even-order derivatives at the origin: if a single one of these vanishes then the function is constant; if they are all non-zero and satisfy a natural growth condition, the function is real-analytic and consequently extends holomorphically to a maximal horizontal strip of the complex plane. 相似文献

We introduce analogs of the Hopf algebra of Free quasi-symmetric functions with bases labeled by colored permutations. When the color set is a semigroup, an internal product can be introduced. This leads to the construction of generalized descent algebras associated with wreath products Γ?Sn and to the corresponding generalizations of quasi-symmetric functions. The associated Hopf algebras appear as natural analogs of McMahon’s multisymmetric functions. As a consequence, we obtain an internal product on ordinary multi-symmetric functions. We extend these constructions to Hopf algebras of colored parking functions, colored non-crossing partitions and parking functions of type B. 相似文献

A class of functions called pseudo B-vex and quasi B-vex functions is introduced by relaxing the definitions of B-vex, pseudoconvex, and quasiconvex functions. Similarly, the class of B-invex, pseudo B-invex, and quasi B-invex functions is defined as a generalization of B-vex, pseudo B-vex, and quasi B-vex functions.
