This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behavior of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with linearly degenerate characteristic fields. On the basis of the existence result for the global classical solution, we prove that when t tends to the infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 traveling wave solutions, provided that the C1 norm and the BV norm of the initial data are bounded but possibly large. In contrast to former results obtained by Liu and Zhou [J. Liu, Y. Zhou, Asymptotic behaviour of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems, Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 30 (2007) 479-500], ours do not require their assumption that the system is rich in the sense of Serre. Applications include that to the one-dimensional Born-Infeld system arising in string theory and high energy physics.  相似文献

We are concerned with the general case of compressible heat-conducting Navier-Stokes equations in three-dimensional exterior domains: It is shown that for small external data and both zero or nonzero velocity at infinity, there exists a unique (steady) solution inL p-spaces,p > 3. We explain the approach and state the main results together with some a-priori estimates.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the mixed initial-boundary value problem for diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear boundary conditions on a half-unbounded domain . Under the assumptions that system is strictly hyperbolic and linearly degenerate, we obtain the global existence and uniqueness of C1 solutions with the bounded L1L norm of the initial data as well as their derivatives and appropriate boundary condition. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we also prove that when t tends to infinity, the solutions approach a combination of C1 travelling wave solutions. Under the appropriate assumptions of initial and boundary data, the results can be applied to the equation of time-like extremal surface in Minkowski space R1+(1+n).  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the behaviour of a weak solution to Navier-Stokes equations for isothermal fluids with a nonlinear stress tensor for time going to infinity. In an analogous way as in [18], we construct a suitable function which approximates the density for time going to infinity. Using properties of this function, we can prove the strong convergence of the density to its limit state. The behaviour of the velocity field and kinetic energy is mentioned as well.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the global existence and stability of a steady transonic conic shock wave for the symmetrically perturbed supersonic flow past an infinitely long conic body. The flow is assumed to be polytropic, isentropic and described by a steady potential equation. Theoretically, as indicated in [R. Courant, K.O. Friedrichs, Supersonic Flow and Shock Waves, Interscience Publishers, Inc., New York, 1948], it follows from the Rankine-Hugoniot conditions and the entropy condition that there will appear a weak shock or a strong shock attached at the vertex of the sharp cone in terms of the different pressure states at infinity behind the shock surface, which correspond to the supersonic shock and the transonic shock respectively. In the references [Shuxing Chen, Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Global shock wave for the supersonic flow past a perturbed cone, Comm. Math. Phys. 228 (2002) 47-84; Dacheng Cui, Huicheng Yin, Global conic shock wave for the steady supersonic flow past a cone: Polytropic case, preprint, 2006; Dacheng Cui, Huicheng Yin, Global conic shock wave for the steady supersonic flow past a cone: Isothermal case, Pacific J. Math. 233 (2) (2007) 257-289] and [Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Global multidimensional shock wave for the steady supersonic flow past a three-dimensional curved cone, Anal. Appl. 4 (2) (2006) 101-132], the authors have established the global existence and stability of a supersonic shock for the perturbed hypersonic incoming flow past a sharp cone when the pressure at infinity is appropriately smaller than that of the incoming flow. At present, for the supersonic symmetric incoming flow, we will study the global transonic shock problem when the pressure at infinity is appropriately large.  相似文献

In this paper, under certain downstream pressure condition at infinity, we study the globally stable transonic shock problem for the perturbed steady supersonic Euler flow past an infinitely long 2-D wedge with a sharp angle. As described in the book of Courant and Friedrichs [R. Courant, K.O. Friedrichs, Supersonic Flow and Shock Waves, Interscience, New York, 1948] (pages 317-318): when a supersonic flow hits a sharp wedge, it follows from the Rankine-Hugoniot conditions and the entropy condition that there will appear a weak shock or a strong shock attached at the edge of the sharp wedge in terms of the different pressure states in the downstream region, which correspond to the supersonic shock and the transonic shock respectively. It has frequently been stated that the strong shock is unstable and that, therefore, only the weak shock could occur. However, a convincing proof of this instability has apparently never been given. The aim of this paper is to understand this open problem. More concretely, we will establish the global existence and stability of a transonic shock solution for 2-D full Euler system when the downstream pressure at infinity is suitably given. Meanwhile, the asymptotic state of the downstream subsonic solution is determined.  相似文献

This article is concerned with a strongly coupled elliptic system modeling the steady state of populations that compete in some region. We prove that the solutions are uniformly Hölder bounded, as the competition rate tends to infinity. The proof relies on the blow-up technique and the monotonicity formula.  相似文献

This article is concerned with the spatial behavior of a strongly coupled non-autonomous elliptic system modeling the steady state of populations that compete in some region. As the competition rate tends to infinity, we obtain the uniform convergence result and prove that non-negative solution of the system converges to the positive and negative parts of a solution of a scalar limit problem.  相似文献

This paper deals with the construction of initial data for the coupled Einstein-Euler system. We consider the condition where the energy density might vanish or tend to zero at infinity, and where the pressure is a fractional power of the energy density. In order to achieve our goals we use a type of weighted Sobolev space of fractional order. The common Lichnerowicz-York scaling method (Choquet-Bruhat and York, 1980 [9]; Cantor, 1979 [7]) for solving the constraint equations cannot be applied here directly. The basic problem is that the matter sources are scaled conformally and the fluid variables have to be recovered from the conformally transformed matter sources. This problem has been addressed, although in a different context, by Dain and Nagy (2002) [11]. We show that if the matter variables are restricted to a certain region, then the Einstein constraint equations have a unique solution in the weighted Sobolev spaces of fractional order. The regularity depends upon the fractional power of the equation of state.  相似文献

We construct pullback attractors to the weak solutions of the three-dimensional Dirichlet problem for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in the case when the external force may become unbounded as time goes to plus or minus infinity.  相似文献

In this paper we study the stability of transonic shocks in steady supersonic flow past a wedge. We take the potential flow equation as the mathematical model to describe the compressible flow. It is known that in generic case such a problem admits two possible location of shock, connecting the flow ahead it and behind it. They can be distinguished as supersonic-supersonic shock and supersonic-subsonic shock (or transonic shock). Both these possible shocks satisfy the Rankine-Hugoniot conditions and entropy condition. In this paper we prove that the transonic shock is also stable under perturbation of the coming flow provided the pressure at infinity is well controlled.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a bounded localized potential in . The linear Hamiltonian is assumed to have three or more bound states with the eigenvalues satisfying some resonance conditions. Suppose that the initial data is localized and small of order n in H1, and that its ground state component is larger than n3−ε with ε>0 small. We prove that the solution will converge locally to a nonlinear ground state as the time tends to infinity.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behaviour in time of solutions and the theory of scattering for the modified Schrödinger map in two space dimensions. We solve the Cauchy problem with large finite initial time, up to infinity in time, and we determine the asymptotic behaviour in time of the solutions thereby obtained. As a by product, we obtain global existence for small data in HkFHk with k>1. We also solve the Cauchy problem with infinite initial time, namely we construct solutions defined in a neighborhood of infinity in time, with prescribed asymptotic behaviour of the previous type.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the limit behavior of a smooth solution for the magnetic type Zakharov system. As the parameters tend to infinity, we prove that solutions of the magnetic Zakharov system converge to the solution of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Moreover, the detailed convergence rate is also investigated.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global existence and the asymptotic behavior of classical solution of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear hyperbolic system with constant multiple and linearly degenerate characteristic fields. We prove that the global C1 solution exists uniquely if the BV norm of the initial data is sufficiently small. Based on the existence result on the global classical solution, we show that, when the time t tends to the infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C1 traveling wave solutions. Finally, we give an application to the equation for time-like extremal surfaces in the Minkowski space-time R1+n.  相似文献

We prove a local in time smoothing estimate for a magnetic Schrödinger equation with coefficients growing polynomially at spatial infinity. The assumptions on the magnetic field are gauge invariant and involve only the first two derivatives. The proof is based on the multiplier method and no pseudodifferential techniques are required.  相似文献

We prove some sharp Hardy-type inequalities related to the Dirac operator by elementary, direct methods. Some of these inequalities have been obtained previously using spectral information about the Dirac-Coulomb operator. Our results are stated under optimal conditions on the asymptotics of the potentials near zero and near infinity.  相似文献
