This paper concerns the existence of positive solution for a class of second-order m-point boundary value problems under different resonant conditions. By using the Leggett-Williams norm-type theorem due to O’Regan and Zima, we obtain the existence of positive solution. An example is given to demonstrate the main results.  相似文献

In this paper we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to multipoint boundary value problems for nonlinear ordinary differential equations. We consider the case where the solution space of the associated linear homogeneous boundary value problem is less than 2. When this solution space is trivial, we establish existence results via the Schauder Fixed Point Theorem. In the resonance case, we use a projection scheme to provide criteria for the solvability of our nonlinear boundary value problem. We accomplish this by analyzing a link between the behavior of the nonlinearity and the solution set of the associated linear homogeneous boundary value problem.  相似文献

In this paper we study the existence of positive solutions of the following operator equation in a Banach space E: where G(x, λ) = λKFx+e0, K: EE is a linear completely continuous operator, F: PE is a nonlinear continuous , bounded operator, e0E, λ is a parameter and P is a cone of Banach space E. Since F is not assumed to be positive and e0 may be a negative element, the operator equation is a so-called semipositone problem. We prove that under certain super-linear conditions on the operator F the operator equation has at least one positive solution for λ > 0 sufficiently small, and that under certain sub-linear conditions on the operator F the operator equation has at least one positive solution for λ > 0 sufficiently large. In addition, we briefly outline an application of our results which simplify previous theorems in the literature.  相似文献

A regularized optimization problem for computing numerical differentiation for the second order derivatives of functions with two variables from noisy values at scattered points is discussed in this article. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution to this problem, provide a constructive scheme for the solution which is based on bi-harmonic Green's function and give a convergence estimate of the regularized solution to the exact solution for the problem under a simple choice of regularization parameter. The efficiency of the constructive scheme is shown by some numerical examples.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a ring of identical neurons with self-feedback and delays. Based on the normal form approach and the center manifold theory, we derive some formula to determine the direction of Hopf bifurcation and stability of the Hopf bifurcated synchronous periodic orbits, phase-locked oscillatory waves, standing waves, mirror-reflecting waves, and so on. In addition, under general conditions, such a network has a slowly oscillatory synchronous periodic solution which is completely characterized by a scalar delay differential equation. Despite the fact that the slowly oscillatory synchronous periodic solution of the scalar equation is stable, we show that the corresponding synchronized periodic solution is unstable if the number of the neurons is large or arbitrary even.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the second-order equations of Duffing type. Bounds for the derivative of the restoring force are given that ensure the existence and uniqueness of a periodic solution. Furthermore, the stability of the unique periodic solution is analyzed; the sharp rate of exponential decay is determined for a solution that is near to the unique periodic solution.  相似文献

We study the existence of solutions for a nonlinear second order system of ordinary differential equations under various boundary conditions. Assuming suitable Nagumo type conditions we prove the existence of at least one solution applying the method of upper and lower solutions. Moreover, using topological degree methods we prove the existence of solutions under Landesman-Lazer type conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, the upper and lower solution method and Schauder’s fixed point theorem are employed in the study of boundary value problems for a class of second-order impulsive ordinary differential equations with nonlinear boundary conditions. In reply to a problem of Jean Leray concerning application of the Nielsen theory to differential systems for obtaining multiplicity results, we present a nontrivial example of such an application. The emphasis is on the parameter space in order to ensure that no subdomain becomes subinvariant under the related Hammerstein solution operator. To achieve this goal, we develop a general method applicable also for ordinary differential equations with or without uniqueness as well as for upper-Carathéodory differential inclusions. We are not aware that any alternative approach can be employed, even in the single-valued case.  相似文献

Motivated by the interesting paper [I. Karaca, Discrete third-order three-point boundary value problem, J. Comput. Appl. Math. 205 (2007) 458–468], this paper is concerned with a class of boundary value problems for second-order functional difference equations. Sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one solution of a Sturm–Liouville boundary value problem for second-order nonlinear functional difference equations are established. In this paper, we study the existence and multiplicity of classical solutions for a second-order impulsive differential equation with periodic boundary conditions. By using a variational method and critical point theory, we give some new criteria to guarantee that the impulsive problem has at least one solution, two solutions and infinitely many solutions when the parameter pair (c,λ) lies in different intervals, respectively. In this paper, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for a nonlocal boundary value problem of fractional differential equation. Firstly, we give Green’s function and prove its positivity; secondly, the uniqueness of positive solution is obtained by the use of contraction map principle and some Lipschitz-type conditions; thirdly, by means of the fixed point index theory, we obtain some existence results of positive solution. The proofs are based upon the reduction of the problem considered to the equivalent Fredholm integral equation of second kind.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of recurrent neural networks with continuously distributed delays is discussed. Without resorting to the theory of exponential dichotomy, several new sufficient conditions are obtained ensuring the existence of an almost periodic solution for this model based on a special functional and analysis technique. Moreover, by constructing suitable Lyapunov functions, the attractivity and exponential stability of the almost periodic solution are also considered for the system. The results obtained are helpful to design globally stable almost periodic oscillatory neural networks. A numerical example is given to show the feasibility of the results obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, the method of upper and lower solutions and the Schauder degree theory are employed in the study of Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems for second order impulsive differential equations.
