The authors discuss the quasilinear parabolic equation ut=∇⋅(g(u)∇u)+h(u,∇u)+f(u) with u|Ω=0, u(x,0)=?(x). If f, g and h are polynomials with proper degrees and proper coefficients, they show that the blowup property only depends on the first eigenvalue of −Δ in Ω with Dirichlet boundary condition. For a special case, they obtain a sharp result.  相似文献

Global solutions for quasilinear parabolic problems   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
Results on the global existence of classical solutions for quasilinear parabolic equations in bounded domains with homogeneous Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions are presented. Besides quasilinear parabolic equations, the method is also applicable to some weakly-coupled reaction-diffusion systems and to elliptic equations with nonlinear dynamic boundary conditions. This paper is concerned with the existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic behavior of solutions for the quasilinear parabolic systems with mixed quasimonotone reaction functions, the elliptic operators in which are allowed to be degenerate. By the method of the coupled upper and lower solutions, and its monotone iterations, it shows that a pair of coupled upper and lower solutions ensures that the unique positive solution exists and globally stable if the quasisolutions are equal. Moreover, we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the Lotka–Volterra model with the density‐dependent diffusion. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Coupled systems for a class of quasilinear parabolic equations and the corresponding elliptic systems, including systems of parabolic and ordinary differential equations are investigated. The aim of this paper is to show the existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic behavior of time-dependent solutions. Also investigated is the existence of positive maximal and minimal solutions of the corresponding quasilinear elliptic system. The elliptic operators in both systems are allowed to be degenerate in the sense that the density-dependent diffusion coefficients Di(ui) may have the property Di(0)=0 for some or all i=1,…,N, and the boundary condition is ui=0. Using the method of upper and lower solutions, we show that a unique global classical time-dependent solution exists and converges to the maximal solution for one class of initial functions and it converges to the minimal solution for another class of initial functions; and if the maximal and minimal solutions coincide then the steady-state solution is unique and the time-dependent solution converges to the unique solution. Applications of these results are given to three model problems, including a scalar polynomial growth problem, a coupled system of polynomial growth problem, and a two component competition model in ecology.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence of maximal and minimal periodic solutions of a class of quasilinear parabolic systems with nonlinear boundary conditions. Our approach to the problem is based on the method of upper and lower solutions and its associated monotone iterations. An application is also made to the reaction–diffusion system of Lotka–Volterra competition model.  相似文献

Using results on abstract evolutions equations and recently obtained results on elliptic operators with discontinuous coefficients including mixed boundary conditions we prove that quasilinear parabolic systems admit a local, classical solution in the space of p–integrable functions, for some p greater than 1, over a bounded two dimensional space domain. The treatment of such equations in a space of integrable functions enables us to define the normal component of the current across the boundary of any Lipschitz subset. As applications we have in mind systems of reaction diffusion equations, e.g. van Roosbroeck’s system.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate the existence, uniqueness, and asymptotic behavior of solutions for a coupled system of quasilinear parabolic equations under nonlinear boundary conditions, including a system of quasilinear parabolic and ordinary differential equations. Also investigated is the existence of positive maximal and minimal solutions of the corresponding quasilinear elliptic system as well as the uniqueness of a positive steady-state solution. The elliptic operators in both systems are allowed to be degenerate in the sense that the density-dependent diffusion coefficients Di(ui) may have the property Di(0)=0 for some or all i. Our approach to the problem is by the method of upper and lower solutions and its associated monotone iterations. It is shown that the time-dependent solution converges to the maximal solution for one class of initial functions and it converges to the minimal solution for another class of initial functions; and if the maximal and minimal solutions coincide then the steady-state solution is unique and the time-dependent solution converges to the unique solution. Applications of these results are given to three model problems, including a porous medium type of problem, a heat-transfer problem, and a two-component competition model in ecology. These applications illustrate some very interesting distinctive behavior of the time-dependent solutions between density-independent and density-dependent diffusions.  相似文献

This paper deals with p-Laplacian systems
with null Dirichlet boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain ΩRN, where p,q>1, , and a,b>0 are positive constants. We first get the non-existence result for a related elliptic systems of non-increasing positive solutions. Secondly by using this non-existence result, blow-up estimates for above p-Laplacian systems with the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value conditions are obtained under Ω=BR={xRN:|x|<R}(R>0). Then under appropriate hypotheses, we establish local theory of the solutions and obtain that the solutions either exists globally or blow-up in finite time.  相似文献

We consider bounded, weak solutions of certain quasilinear parabolic systems of second order. If the solution fulfills a suitable smallness condition, we show that it is H?lder continuous and satisfies an a priori estimate. This is a well known result of Giaquinta and Struwe [3]. Their argument employs the use of Green’s functions, which is completely avoided in our proof. Instead, our crucial tool is a weak Harnack inequality for supersolutions due to Trudinger [7] in connection with a technique developed by L.Caffarelli [1]. Received: 25 September 2006  相似文献
