The photoelectron angular distribution parameter β has been measured in the 0–20 eV region above threshold for the neon 2p electrons using a synchrotron light source. Measurements are compared with the Hartree-Fock calculations of Manson and Kennedy.  相似文献

The relative double-photoionization cross section of neutral C60 clusters was investigated using monochromatized synchrotron radiation between 18 and 283 eV. Our measurement of the double-to-single photoionization ratio reveals two modulating components that are superimposed on a smooth ratio curve from threshold (19.0 eV) up to 280 eV, when inner-shell excitations become possible. The maxima in the modulation can be related to geometrical dimensions of the C60 cluster.  相似文献

We analyze the two-dimensional momentum distribution of electrons ionized by few-cycle laser pulses in the transition regime from multiphoton absorption to tunneling by solving the time-dependent Schr?dinger equation and by a classical-trajectory Monte-Carlo simulation with tunneling (CTMC-T). We find a complex two-dimensional interference pattern that resembles above threshold ionization (ATI) rings at higher energies and displays Ramsauer-Townsend-type diffraction oscillations in the angular distribution near threshold. CTMC-T calculations provide a semiclassical explanation for the dominance of selected partial waves. While the present calculation pertains to hydrogen, we find surprising qualitative agreement with recent experimental data for rare gases [A. Rudenko, J. Phys. B 37, L407 (2004)].  相似文献

Experimental results give evidence that the angular distribution of electrons emitted from sandwich cathodes at low temperatures is mostly formed by electrons which were absorbed by traps in the dielectric forbidden band during the transfer through the dielectric layer and then again liberated. For this reason the thermal as well as the field-assisted excitation is analyzed in detail in this paper. In both cases angular distributions (in case of the thermal excitation only in the numerical way) and approximate expressions for the height and the half-width of these distributions are obtained. The derived expressions contain cathode parameters (temperature, voltage used, mean free path and depth of traps) and they are usable for evaluation of these parameters from experimental characteristics.  相似文献

The energy dependence of the photoelectron angular distribution parameter (β) has been measured for Ar 3p and Kr 4p electrons in the energy ranges 4–54 eV and 4–40 eV above threshold respectively, using 3.5 keV electron impact with coincidence detection of the scattered and ejected electrons. This energy range is considerably greater than that covered in previous experiments. The data over the whole energy range are compared with the Hartree-Fock calculations of Kennedy and Manson and with those of Amusia et al., using the random phase approximation with exchange method. For Ar the calculations of Amusia et al., which take into account many-electron correlations, are shown to agree more closely with the present data. The data are also shown to be in very good agreement with earlier experimental data obtained over a more limited energy range using electron synchrotron radiation.  相似文献

The fivefold differential cross section (5DCS) of the ionisation by electron impact of atomic sodium is determined theoretically for its fundamental 3s(2 S) state and the excited 3p(2 P) and 3d(2 D) states by a procedure which employs in the transition matrix element of the first order Born approximation, the correlated double continuum (3C) wave function. This permits us to determine the statistical M-state population and the orientation and alignment tensors in (e,2e) detection. It is also shown that, the use of Gamow correlation term, in the independent particle (2C) model, reproduces, only in some situations, the shape of the angular distribution of the 5DCS obtained by the (3C) wave function. The threshold region of the double-photoionization cross section of lithium was investigated using monochromatized synchrotron radiation and ion time-of-flight spectrometry. While the overall energy dependence can be described by the Wannier power law, we found oscillations in the cross section which are in good agreement with a modulated threshold law as proposed by Temkin [Phys. Rev. Lett. 49, 365 (1982)]]. This behavior may be due to the unequal binding energies of the electrons involved in the double-photoionization process.  相似文献

A complex optical model potential modified by the concept of bonded atom, which takes into consideration the overlapping effect of electron clouds, is employed to calculate the total cross sections for electrons scattering from simple molecules (SO2, H2S, OCS, CS2 and SO3) containing the larger atom, sulfur, at 30-5000eV by using the additivity rule model at Hartree-Fock level. The quantitative molecular total cross section results are compared with those obtained in experiments and other calculations wherever available, and good agreement is obtained. It is shown that the additivity rule model together with the complex optical model potential modified by the concept of bonded atom can give the results closer to the experiments than the one unmodified by it. So, the introduction of bonded-atom concept in complex optical model potential betters the accuracy of the total cross section calculations of electrons from the molecules containing the larger atom, sulfur.  相似文献
