The analyzing power of 6Li for the elastic scattering of polarized neutrons with energies between 2 and 4 MeV, has been measured at six angles ranging from 25° to 150°. The polarized neutrons were generated from the reactions Pb(γ, n) and 12C(n, n), and their polarization was measured using the double-scattering method. The neutron energies were determined with a nanosecond timeof-flight spectrometer. In addition, the differential cross section was measured at three angles in the same energy range; the cross section was determined relative to the well-known n-12C cross section. The present results have been combined with existing data for the neutron total, (n, α), and differential elastic cross sections, in a reduced R-function analysis. Clear evidence of a p-wave triplet of shellmodel states emerges from the analysis.  相似文献

We have measured 12C-13C elastic cross sections at 12 MeV between 40°–140° in 1° steps to ±1%. The observed oscillatory interference between Coulomb scattering and the neutron transfer process is analyzed using exact finite-range DWBA, and a model-independent value of C2 = 2.55±0.10 for the asymptotic normalization of the 1p12 neutron wave function in 13C is obtained. Using radial wave functions determined by elastic electron scattering the spectroscopic factor is found to be S = 0.81±0.04.  相似文献

The microwave spectra of three further isotopic species of chlorine isocyanate (35Cl15N12C16O, 37Cl15N12C16O, 35Cl14N13C16O) have been measured. From them we have obtained rotational constants, centrifugal distortion constants, and nuclear quadrupole coupling constants. The data are combined with earlier data (1) to confirm the planarity of the molecule, and to give a full substitution structure as follows: r (ClN) = 1.705 ± 0.005 A?; r (NC) = 1.226 ± 0.005 A?; r(CO) = 1.162 ± 0.005 A?; < (ClNC) = 118°50′ ± 30′; < (NCO) = 170°52′ ± 30′, with Cl and O trans. We have also calculated the chlorine and nitrogen quadrupole coupling constants using the SCF-MO-CNDO method, and have obtained good agreement with the measured values. Evidence for in-plane π-bonding at nitrogen has been obtained.  相似文献

The 20Ne(3He, n) reaction leading to the ground state of 22Mg has been investigated in the 3He+ energy range of 2.6 to 4.0 MeV. Angular distributions were determined with a neutron time-of-flight spectrometer at average incident energies (lab) of 3.27, 3.69, and 4.01 MeV between 0° and 120° (lab). Excitation functions for the energy region were measured at 0° and 80° (lab). The observed differential cross sections are explained by coherent contributions from direct interaction and compound-nucleus formation. A spectroscopic factor was extracted for the DWBA calculation from the absolute cross-section measurements and found to be ? = 0.43±0.21. Resonances in the compound-nucleus formation were found at 3.00 and 3.33 MeV (c.m.) with widths of 0.28 and 0.21 MeV and spins of 52+and12?, respectively.  相似文献

A significant production of the ABC effect is observed in the free nucleon reaction n+p → d+(mm)°, using a 1.88 GeV/c neutron beam. The complete deuterón momentum spectra produced in this inclusive experiment are measured at 0°, 4.5°, 7.5° and 10.5° (lab). The double differential cross sections d2σ/dΩdp, are compared with the predictions of two exchange models.  相似文献

The reaction 40Ca(13C, 12C)41Ca leading to the ground and low-lying 32? levels has been studied at bombarding energies of 18.5 and 19.0 MeV, close to the Coulomb barrier. The cross sections have been analysed using the DWBA with previously measured calibrations to obtain the rms radii of 1f72 and 2p32 orbits in the 41Ca levels. The rms radius of the 1f72 point neutron orbit in the ground state relative to the 40Ca core was determined to be 3.89 ± 0.12 fm. This is compared with various theoretical predictions based on Hartree-Fock theory. The 1f72 orbit radius gives the point neutron excess size to a good approximation for comparison with the value of 3.45 fm deduced from Coulomb energy differences. The consistency of the results with 40Ca(t, d)41Ca experiments using a (t/d), zero-range normalization of 3.26 × 104 MeV2 · fm3 is demonstrated, and trends in neutron size parameters through the Ca isotopes are discussed.  相似文献

The analyzing power of neutron continuum spectrum for the 93Nb(→p, nX) reaction at 65 MeV was measured for a wide angular range ?n = 20° – 130°. The analyzing powers are positive and large at large angles ?n > 40°. The characteristic features in the analyzing power for the 93Nb(→p, nX) reaction are very similar to those for the 93Nb(→p, p'X) reaction indicating the importance of a common reaction mechanism for both reactions. A DWBA calculation was performed and compared with the data. The calculation for EX = 14 MeV reproduced the cross sections but failed to reproduce the analyzing powers.  相似文献

A strong selectivity of the 12C(12C,n)23Mg reaction is observed in a resonance at Ecm(12C) = 19.3 MeV. The neutron spectra and n-γ coincidence measurements show evidence for population of high-spin members of the ground- state rotational band in 23Mg.  相似文献

The analyzing power Aγ(θ) was obtained at 10° intervals between 30° (lab) to 120° (lab) for 2H(n, n)2H at 12.0 MeV. The polarized neutron beam employed in the measurement was obtained by using neutrons emitted at 0° from the polarization transfer reaction 2H(d, n)3He. The accuracy in the Aγ(θ) values that was achieved ranged from ± 0.006 to ± 0.013. Comparison of the data to Aγ(θ) results obtained at 12 MeV for the charge symmetric reaction 2H(p, p)2H shows that the two Aγ(θ) distributions are equal to within the above accuracy.  相似文献

We have measured 16O17O elastic cross sections at 22 MeV between 65°–140° to ± 1 %. The observed oscillatory interference between Coulomb scattering and the neutron transfer process is analyzed using exact finite-range DWBA. A model-independent value of C?2 = 0.82 ± 0.07 is obtained for the coupling constant of the 1d52 neutron in 17O. We also present an analysis of data on magnetic electron scattering from 17O, which yields precise information on the magnitude and the radial shape of the 1d52 neutron bound-state wave function. With this we relate the coupling constant to the spectroscopic factor and find S = 1.04 ± 0.11. We show that the magnetic electron scattering data alone yield S = 1.04 ± 0.10. Combining these results with earlier work we recommend C?2 = 0.79 ± 0.04 and S = 1.03 ± 0.07 as best values. This spectroscopic strength corresponds to (91 ± 7) % of the full single-particle value.  相似文献

The polarization transfer coefficients Kyy of the break-up spectra in the reactions 12C, 58Ni, 209Bi(d, pX) were measured at 56 MeV. In the forwardd angles (13.5° and 20.0°), the Kyy data at the break-up peak are nearly equal to 23 (the spectator model prediction) and they decrease at both sides of the peak. The deviation due to the deuteron D-state is estimated, using PWBA and DWBA.  相似文献

Differential cross sections for neutrons scattered from natural Pb and 99.9 % isotopically pure 238U have been measured at 0.5°, 1.0°, and 1.5°. A neutron energy continuum was produced by bombarding a thick natural lithium target with a 4 MeV, nanosecond-pulsed proton beam. Neutron energies were determined by time-of-flight techniques. Flight paths from the neutron source to the scatterer and from the scatterer to the detector were each about 5 m. For the 0.5° measurements an annular detector geometry with an angular resolution of ± 0.1° was developed to maximize detection solid angle. Data were averaged over 100 keV intervals from 0.6 to 2.2 MeV and were corrected for backgrounds, multiple scattering and inelastic scattering. Measured cross sections were compared to optical-model calculations which included electromagnetic interactions of neutrons with the nuclear Coulomb field. Inclusion of an induced neutron electric dipole moment interaction was not warranted by the data. The angular dependence of the cross section was fitted with a function A + B cot2case12θ at each energy. Mean values of B for 238U are in agreement with theoretical predictions. Values of B for Pb are apparently 15 % too low.  相似文献

The single-neutron transfer reactions 13C(16O, 17O)12C, 13C(18O, 19O)12C and 18O(17O, 16O)19O have been studied at sub-Coulomb energies in order to provide absolute calibrations useful in further heavy-ion transfer experiments. With the neutron bound state wave functions calculated in a Woods-Saxon well with geometry parameters arbitrarily chosen as r = 1.20Ac13fm and a = 0.60 fm, and with the well depth varied to reproduce the neutron binding energy, calibration factors for the ground states of 13C, 17O and 19O have been determined to be 1.03±0.07, 0.78±0.05 and 0.53±0.04 respectively, Assuming single-particle character for the ground states of 13C and 17O, and a (d52)3 configuration for 19O, the data have been used to determine the rms radii of the neutron excess distributions in these nuclei. The values obtained in 13C, 17O and 19O are 3.19±0.05 fm 3.30±0.05 fm and respectively. These values are compared with those determined from Coulomb energy differences.  相似文献

The phase transitions of LiKSO4 above RT have been investigated by means of X-ray powder diffraction, neutron single-crystal diffraction and thermal analysis. Below ca. 675°C the α phase (most probably isomorphous to α -K2So4 with a structure P63/mmc) is incommensurately modulated. From the large number of satellite diffractions, a hexagonal triple k modulation was found with k1 = Ka1 and K ? 12. The lock-in transition takes place at 470°C, as K suddenly becomes 12. This commensurate phase has the P63 symmetry, and is a superstructure of the RT phase. At 439°C the superlattice disappears with the release of latent heat. The dynamical behavior of SO-24 and Li+ ions in the higher-temperature phases is discussed. No incommensurate phase is found below RT.  相似文献

Films of erbium were evaporated onto the inside wall of a pyrex glass reaction vessel at 1O?9 torr. Their mean thickness (200–600 Å) was deduced from their mass and geometrical area. Estimates of their surface areas were made from the physical adsorption of krypton at 78 °K (BET method) giving a mean specific surface area of 71 m?2 g?1. The number of surface sites was calculated from a relationship given by Brennan et al.1). The sorption of hydrogen and oxygen was studied separately, by measuring the changes in the electrical resistance of the films as a function of the amount of pure gas admitted to the reaction vessel in measured doses ~ 1018 atoms per dose. The experiments were repeated at 295 °K, 200 °K, 130–140 °K for both gases (measurements at 78 °K were not reproducible, probably because of a magnetic phase change). Hydrogen at 295 °K [as reported2)] caused an initial increase ΔR in the original resistance R to a maximum ΔRR ~ 20 %, which was followed by a decrease to ΔRR = 0 and then to ΔRR < 0. A similar pattern of resistance changes was observed at 200°K and 130–140°K with smaller changes of ΔRR, i.e. 16 % and 8 % respectively, but no significant differance in surface (θ) and bulk atomic ratios at which the maxima occurred, e.g. ΔRR was a maximum for 1.6?θ?1.9.  相似文献

Absolute branching ratios have been measured for the isospin-forbidden nucleon decays of the lowest T = 32 levels of 9Be and 9B to the ground state and first excited state of 8Be. The T = 32 levels were populated by the 7Li(3He, n) and 7Li(3He, p) reactions. The subsequent decay products were observed in coincidence with the neutrons or protons, detected at 0°. Branching ratios of 0.028 ± 0.021 and 0.50 ± 0.11 were determined for the neutron decays of the 14.39 MeV, T = 32 level of 9Be to the ground state and 2.9 MeV, 2+ first excited state of 8Be, respectively. Branching ratios of 0.11 ± 0.04 and 0.33 ± 0.09 were determined for the analogous proton decays of the 9B, 14.67 MeV T = 32 level. The similarity of the decay properties of these analogue levels is in contrast to the large asymmetries observed for T = 32 levels in other A = 4N + 1 light nuclei.  相似文献

Polyion complexes between poly(sodium acrylate) 2 and polybrene 3, or poly(2-acrylamino-2-methylpropane sulfonate) 2 and 2 were synthesized. After removing sodium bromide, these polymers were dispersed with LiClO4, and their Li+ conductivities were measured at 80 ~ 200°C. Their ionic conductivities changed from 10-3 to 10-8 S cm-1 at 100 ~ 200°C. These polymers and poly(ethylene oxide) dispersed with LiBF4 were used as solid electrolytes of Li-activated carbon fiber (ACF) batteries and ACF-ACF capacitor.  相似文献

Neutron elastic scattering on Si, S and Ca has been measured at 11, 20 and 26 MeV using the Ohio University 11 MeV Tandem Van de Graaff. A time-of-flight technique was used and the angular distributions covered an angular range from 15° through 155°. The measured cross sections were corrected for dead time, source anisotropy, detector efficiency, finite geometry, neutron flux attenuation and multiple scattering. Individual as well as global fits to the data using an optical-model search code are presented. The comparison of the optical-model analysis to the neutron and proton elastic scattering data in the case of 40Ca, allows an empirical determination of the Coulomb correction term which may be parametrized as 0.46 Z/A13. It is also shown that the elastic scattering and inelastic scattering to the first 2+ states in 28Si and 32S may be fitted using the same optical-model parameters obtained for 40Ca using the coupled-channel formalism.  相似文献
