A Nadel vanishing theorem for metrics with minimal singularities on big line bundles

The purpose of this paper is to establish a Nadel vanishing theorem for big line bundles with multiplier ideal sheaves of singular metrics admitting an analytic Zariski decomposition (such as, metrics with minimal singularities and Siu's metrics). For this purpose, we apply the theory of harmonic integrals and generalize Enoki's proof of Kollár's injectivity theorem. Moreover we investigate the asymptotic behavior of harmonic forms with respect to a family of regularized metrics.     

A Nadel vanishing theorem via injectivity theorems

The purpose of this paper is to establish Nadel type vanishing theorems with multiplier ideal sheaves of singular metrics admitting an analytic Zariski decomposition (such as, metrics with minimal singularities and Siu’s metrics). For this purpose, we generalize Kollár’s injectivity theorem to an injectivity theorem for line bundles equipped with singular metrics, by making use of the theory of harmonic integrals. Moreover we give asymptotic cohomology vanishing theorems for high tensor powers of line bundles.     

A note on a theorem of minc on irreducible non-negative matrices

A short proof is given for Mine's partial converse to a fundamental theorem of Frobenius on irreducible nonnegative matrices.     

A Frobenius Theorem on Convenient Manifolds

 A Frobenius Theorem for finite dimensional, involutive subbundles of the tangent bundle of a convenient manifold is proved. As first key applications Lie’s second fundamental theorem and Nelson’s theorem are treated in the convenient case.     

Three results on Frobenius categories

This paper consists of three results on Frobenius categories: (1) we give sufficient conditions on when a factor category of a Frobenius category is still a Frobenius category; (2) we show that any Frobenius category is equivalent to an extension-closed exact subcategory of the Frobenius category formed by Cohen–Macaulay modules over some additive category; this is an analogue of Gabriel–Quillen’s embedding theorem for Frobenius categories; (3) we show that under certain conditions an exact category with enough projective and enough injective objects allows a natural new exact structure, with which the given category becomes a Frobenius category. Several applications of the results are discussed.     

Abstract Plancherel theorems and a Frobenius reciprocity theorem

A method for obtaining Plancherel theorems for unitary representations of Lie groups via C^∞ vector techniques is studied. The results are used to prove the nonunimodular Plancherel theorem of Moore and to study its convergence. A C^∞ Frobenius reciprocity theorem which generalizes Gelfand's duality theorem is also proven.

Square-integrability modulo a subgroup

We prove a weak form of the Frobenius reciprocity theorem for locally compact groups. As a consequence, we propose a definition of square-integrable representation modulo a subgroup that clarifies the relations between coherent states, wavelet transforms and covariant localisation observables. A self-contained proof of the imprimitivity theorem for covariant positive operator-valued measures is given.

Some optimal bounds in the central limit theorem using zero biasing

The convergence rate in the central limit theorem (CLT) is investigated in terms of a wide class of probability metrics. Namely, optimal estimates for the proximity between a probability distribution and its zero bias transformation are derived. These new inequalities allow one to establish optimal rates of convergence in the CLT for sums of independent random variables with finite moments of order s, s∈(2,3], in terms of ideal metrics introduced by V.M. Zolotarev.     

A formal Frobenius theorem and argument shift

A formal Frobenius theorem, which is an analog of the classical integrability theorem for smooth distributions, is proved and applied to generalize the argument shift method of A. S. Mishchenko and A. T. Fomenko to finite-dimensional Lie algebras over any field of characteristic zero. A completeness criterion for a commutative set of polynomials constructed by the formal argument shift method is obtained.     

Projectively related complex Finsler metrics

In this paper we introduce in study the projectively related complex Finsler metrics. We prove the complex versions of the Rapcsák’s theorem and characterize the weakly Kähler and generalized Berwald projectively related complex Finsler metrics. The complex version of Hilbert’s Fourth Problem is also pointed out. As an application, the projectiveness of a complex Randers metric is described.     

Independence of vectors in codes over rings

We study codes over Frobenius rings. We describe Frobenius rings via an isomorphism to the product of local Frobenius rings and use this decomposition to describe an analog of linear independence. Special attention is given to codes over principal ideal rings and a basis for codes over principal ideal rings is defined. We prove that a basis exists for any code over a principal ideal ring and that any two basis have the same number of vectors. Plethystic algebra

The notion of a Z-algebra has a non-linear analogue, whose purpose it is to control operations on commutative rings rather than linear operations on abelian groups. These plethories can also be considered non-linear generalizations of cocommutative bialgebras. We establish a number of category-theoretic facts about plethories and their actions, including a Tannaka-Krein-style reconstruction theorem. We show that the classical ring of Witt vectors, with all its concomitant structure, can be understood in a formula-free way in terms of a plethystic version of an affine blow-up applied to the plethory generated by the Frobenius map. We also discuss the linear and infinitesimal structure of plethories and explain how this gives Bloch's Frobenius operator on the de Rham-Witt complex.     

Vanishing theorems on toric varieties in positive characteristic

We use the liftability of the relative Frobenius morphism of toric varieties and the strong liftability of toric varieties to prove the Bott vanishing theorem, the degeneration of the Hodge to de Rham spectral sequence and the Kawamata–Viehweg vanishing theorem for log pairs on toric varieties in positive characteristic. These results generalize those results of Danilov, Buch–Thomsen–Lauritzen–Mehta, Musta?ǎ and Fujino to the case where concerned Weil divisors are not necessarily torus invariant.     

A Frobenius Theorem for Locally Convex Global Analysis

 We prove a Frobenius theorem for Banach space complemented subbundles of the tangent bundle of a manifold modelled on locally convex spaces. The proof is based on an implicit function theorem for maps from locally convex spaces to Banach spaces proved in a recent paper of the author.     

Separability and the Twisted Frobenius Bimodule

This paper begins with an introduction to -Frobenius structure on a finite-dimensional Hopf subalgebra pair. In Section 2 a study is made of a generalization of Frobenius bimodules and -Frobenius extensions. Also a special type of twisted Frobenius bimodule which gives an endomorphism ring theorem and converse is studied. Section 3 brings together material on separable bimodules, the dual definitions of split and separable extension, and a theorem of Sugano on endomorphism rings of separable bimodules. In Section 4, separable twisted Frobenius bimodules are characterized in terms of data that generalizes a Frobenius homomorphism and a dual base. In the style of duality, two corollaries characterizing split -Frobenius and separable -Frobenius extensions are proven. Sugano"s theorem is extended to -Frobenius extensions and their endomorphism rings. In Section 5, the problem of when separable extensions are Frobenius extensions is discussed. A Hopf algebra example and a matrix example are given of finite rank free separable -Frobenius extensions which are not Frobenius in the ordinary sense.     

On the equivalence of codes over rings and modules

In light of the result by Wood that codes over every finite Frobenius ring satisfy a version of the MacWilliams equivalence theorem, a proof for the converse is considered. A strategy is proposed that would reduce the question to problems dealing only with matrices over finite fields. Using this strategy, it is shown, among other things, that any left MacWilliams basic ring is Frobenius. The results and techniques in the paper also apply to related problems dealing with codes over modules.
