In this note we prove a vector valued transference theorem relating Fourier-Bessel multipliers and Hankel multipliers. An application of such a transference theorem allows to show that results of Córdoba [3] and Romera [4] can be deduced from a recent result of Balodis and Córdoba [1, Theorem 3]. In this paper we introduce the notion of orthogonality for arbitrary families of elements of a partial abelian monoid, we study uniform semigroup valued measures on a partial abelian monoid, and we establish interesting results about the existence of the support of such measures. The Burnside algebra for a finite inverse semigroup over a field is considered (the analog of the Grothendieck algebra). The conditions for the algebra to be Frobenius are investigated. It is shown that, if all the subgroups in the semigroup are commutative, then its Burnside algebra is Frobenius if and only if the order of any maximal subgroup is not divisible by the square of the field characteristic.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. We give some sufficient conditions that each multiplier on a faithful commutative Banach algebra has SVEP. On the other hand, we show that there exist a faithful commutative Banach algebra and a multiplier on it without SVEP. Such examples of multipliers can actually be found within the class of multiplication operators on unital commutative Banach algebras. This answers in negative a question that is stated as Open problem 6.2.1 by Laursen and Neumann, 2000.

LetC be a field of subsets of a non-empty setX and let μ:CE be a finitely additive measure (a “charge”) taking values in a commutative semigroupE. We consider the problem of extending μ to a charge defined on the power set and we say thatE has the charge extension property (CEP) if such extensions always exist. Los and Marczewski proved [4] that the semigroup of non-negative reals has CEP, and Carlson and Prikry [2] have shown that everygroup has CEP. We prove that every compact semigroup has CEP and show that CEP follows from certain completeness and distributivity conditions. Specializing to the case of lattices considered as semigroups under the operation of supremum, we characterize the class of lattices with CEP. An application to closure operators in general topology is also discussed.  相似文献

Let R be a positive normal affine semigroup ring of dimension d and let be the maximal homogeneous ideal of R. We show that the integral closure of is equal to for all n ∈ℕ with nd − 2. From this we derive that the Rees algebra R[t] is normal in case that d ≤ 3. If emb dim(R) = d + 1, we can give a necessary and sufficient condition for R[t] to be normal.  相似文献

We define the Hermitian tangent valued forms of a complex 1-dimensional line bundle equipped with a Hermitian metric. We provide a local characterization of these forms in terms of a local basis and of a local fibred chart. We show that these forms constitute a graded Lie algebra through the Frölicher–Nijenhuis bracket.Moreover, we provide a global characterization of this graded Lie algebra, via a given Hermitian connection, in terms of the tangent valued forms and forms of the base space. Let X be a compact Hausdorff space and A   a Banach algebra. We investigate amenability properties of the algebra C(X,A)C(X,A) of all A  -valued continuous functions. We show that C(X,A)C(X,A) has a bounded approximate diagonal if and only if A has a bounded approximate diagonal; if A   has a compactly central approximate diagonal (unbounded) then C(X,A)C(X,A) has a compactly approximate diagonal. Math. 26 (2003) 441-452; S. Aywa, J.H. Fourie, On summing multipliers and applications, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 253 (2001) 166-186; J.H. Fourie, I. Röntgen, Banach space sequences and projective tensor products, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 277 (2) (2003) 629-644]) the concept of (p,q)-summing multiplier was considered in both general and special context. It has been shown that some geometric properties of Banach spaces and some classical theorems can be described using spaces of (p,q)-summing multipliers. The present paper is a continuation of this study, whereby multiplier spaces for some classical Banach spaces are considered. The scope of this research is also broadened, by studying other classes of summing multipliers. Let E(X) and F(Y) be two Banach spaces whose elements are sequences of vectors in X and Y, respectively, and which contain the spaces c00(X) and c00(Y) of all X-valued and Y-valued sequences which are eventually zero, respectively. Generally spoken, a sequence of bounded linear operators (un)⊂L(X,Y) is called a multiplier sequence from E(X) to F(Y) if the linear operator from c00(X) into c00(Y) which maps (xi)∈c00(X) onto (unxn)∈c00(Y) is bounded with respect to the norms on E(X) and F(Y), respectively. Several cases where E(X) and F(Y) are different (classical) spaces of sequences, including, for instance, the spaces Rad(X) of almost unconditionally summable sequences in X, are considered. Several examples, properties and relations among spaces of summing multipliers are discussed. Important concepts like R-bounded, semi-R-bounded and weak-R-bounded from recent papers are also considered in this context.  相似文献
