Modifying the properties of lead titanate in PbTi<Subscript>1 − <Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript>Mn<Subscript><Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript>O<Subscript>3</Subscript> solid solutions

Spontaneous deformation in the PbTi_{1 − x} Mn _x O₃ system at room temperature is found to decrease as x increases, indicating a drop in the temperature of the ferroelectric phase transition.     

Cascade of phase transitions in the Fe<Subscript>1 − <Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript>Co<Subscript><Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript> monolayer

The reorientation phase transitions occurring in FeCo alloy monolayers have been investigated as a function of the cobalt concentration with inclusion of the magnetodipole and magnetoelastic interactions. The kinetic values of the cobalt concentration corresponding to the phase transition points have been determined and the phase diagram of the system under investigation has been constructed.     

Magnetic properties of multiferroics Bi<Subscript>1 – <Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript>Sm<Subscript><Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript>FeO<Subscript>3</Subscript> synthesized under high pressure

The magnetic properties of the multiferroics obtained upon isovalent substitution of samarium cations for bismuth cations in BiFeO₃. The samples have been synthesized by solid-phase reactions under conditions of a cold pressing at high (4 GPa) pressure. The correlation between the structure and the magnetic properties of the multiferroics has been found based on analyzing the experimental data.     

Preparation and characterization of polybithiophene/<Emphasis Type=BoldItalic>β</Emphasis>-MnO<Subscript>2</Subscript> composite electrode for oxygen reduction

A composite material of polybithiophene (PBTh) and β-MnO₂ was prepared by electrodeposition of organic conducting polymer on β-MnO₂ surface in 0.1 M LiClO₄/0.01 M BTh/CH₃CN. Synthesized material was characterized by using various techniques, i.e., X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and magnetic measurements (SQUID). Electrochemical features of oxygen reduction reaction were investigated using cyclic voltammetry on β-MnO₂ and PBTh/β-MnO₂ electrode, and chronopotentiometry tests were carried out at different currents. The results show that peak current and potential of oxygen reduction are changed for β-MnO₂ modified by polybithiophene.     

Homogeneity region of erbium manganite Er<Subscript>2 − <Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript>Mn<Subscript><Emphasis Type=Italic>x</Emphasis></Subscript>O<Subscript>3 ± δ</Subscript> in air

The solubility ranges of Er₂O₃ and Mn₃O₄ oxides and ErMn₂O₅ manganite in ErMnO_{3 ± δ} are determined for the temperature range 900–1400°C.     

Self-consistent mapping of the ab initio calculations to the multi-orbital <Emphasis Type=Italic>p</Emphasis>–<Emphasis Type=Italic>d</Emphasis> model: Magnetism in α-FeSi<Subscript>2</Subscript> films as the effect of the local environment

The near infrared transmission spectra of nanoporous SiO₂/Al₂O₃ xerogel have been recorded for the first time in the process of filling of nanopores with ammonia and acetone molecules. It has been found that the physical adsorption of these gases results in a reversible increase in the translucence of xerogel samples at the frequencies of vibrational bands of surface OH groups.
