The work of the present author and his coauthors over the past years gives evidence that it may be useful to regard each topological space as a kind of enriched category, by interpreting the convergence relation xx between ultrafilters and points of a topological space X as arrows in X. Naturally, this point of view opens the door to the use of concepts and ideas from enriched Category Theory for the investigation of topological spaces. Topological theories introduced by the author provide a convenient general setting for appropriately transferring these concepts and ideas to the world of topological spaces and some other geometric objects such as approach spaces. Using tools like adjunction and the Yoneda lemma, we show that the cocomplete spaces are precisely the injective spaces, and they are algebras for a suitable monad on . This way we obtain enriched versions of known results about injective topological spaces and continuous lattices.  相似文献

Supercomplete topological spaces and other variants of supercompleteness are defined in this paper. The main idea is to give different characterizations of Čech complete spaces. In particular it is shown that for paracompacta (and so for metrizable spaces) and topological groups the two notions of supercompleteness and Čech completeness coincide.   相似文献

Many examples of compact fuzzy topological spaces which are highly non topological are known [5, 6]. Equally many examples of Hausdorff fuzzy topological spaces which are highly non topological can be given. In this paper we show that the two properties - compact and Hausdorff - combined however necessarily imply that the fuzzy topological space is topological. This at once solves some open questions with regard to the compactification of fuzzy topological spaces [8]. It also emphasizes once more the particular role played by compact Hausdorff topological spaces not only in the category of topological spaces but even in the category of fuzzy topological spaces.  相似文献

The Cantor–Bendixson rank of a topological space X is a measure of the complexity of the topology of X. We will be interested primarily in the case that the space is profinite: Hausdorff, compact and totally disconnected. In this paper, we prove that the injective dimension of the abelian category of sheaves of Q-modules over a profinite space X is determined by the Cantor–Bendixson rank of X.  相似文献

In this paper, a few separation properties and some aspects of subspace fuzzy topology have been studied, where both the crisp and the fuzzy elements have been taken into consideration. Since the conventional definition of compactness is not quite meaningful in Hausdorff fuzzy spaces (as introduced by us), a new more natural definition of proper compactness is given and a few properties resulting from this are established.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to unify a number of theorems in topology whose conclusions state that a product of topological spaces has a compactness-like property.Three such theorems are (1) the Tychonoff theorem: Every product of compact spaces is compact, (2) the theorem of C.T. Scarborough and A.H. Stone: Every product of at most N1 sequentially compact spaces is countably compact, and (3) the theorem of N. The main purpose of the paper is to introduce the notion of summability in abstract Hausdorff topological spaces. We give a characterization of such summability methods when the space allows a countable base. We also provide several Tauberian theorems in topological structures.
